We deeply regret ever purchasing a Marriott timeshare. From the moment we got home, we began second-guessing our decision and wondering why we took on more debt for vacations we didnt need. Looking back, we can't believe we fell for it again. We considered canceling right away but didnt act fast enough, and now were stuck in a situation causing financial strain as we approach retirement. For over 5 months, weve been trying to sign the timeshare back to Marriott with no success. The entire experience has been a nightmare, leaving us stressed, angry, and financially burdened. I would not recommend Marriott timeshares to anyone.

Was sold a bill of lies when I went to a sales pitch to upgrade my contract with Marriott vacation club. Salesman ******* *********** lied to me on everything he was trying to sell me to buy an upgrade. He said I can rent out my points to earn money but Marriott does not allow owners to do that. He said I can sell back my contract and get money for it but again you can surrender your contract but there is no payback to the owner. The value is zero. Its just one scam after another and they know what they are doing to get people to upgrade. Someone needs to stop whats happening to good hard earning people that get lied too at every turn.

I bought points in July 24 and was told my closing fees of ~$2300 covered the maintenance fee and the first month payment and I would have my first payment in Sep. I did not receive a hard copy of any documents nor was a soft copy emailed, instead I received a thumb drive with the information. Fast forward to Dec 24 when I receive a notice that pro-rated maintenance fees have not been paid and my account has been suspended. When I called the number on the letter the *** said he doesn't have access to my closing information and I would have to contact the sales team. ****** is not good business practice. As a customer I expect the proper documentation to be transferred to the lein holder without me having to find the answer. Unacceptable MVC.

Our experience with Marriott ************* has been nothing short of devastating. What started as an exciting investment in 2018 turned into a spiral of mounting financial obligations. At each "owner update" meeting, we were pressured to upgrade our points, being told our current level wasn't enough to fully enjoy the benefits. We fell for this three times, accumulating multiple loans with high interest rates. The salespeople conveniently omitted crucial information about loan terms and interest rates. We're now paying a staggering $13,000 annually for what amounts to a single vacation - if we can even book one. The maintenance fees have skyrocketed from around $1,100 to over $4,300, making ownership completely unsustainable. The promised "exclusive" resorts turned out to be available to anyone at much lower nightly rates than what we pay as owners. The booking system is frustrating to navigate, and the few properties within driving distance are either outdated or perpetually unavailable. When we tried to consolidate our loans, Marriott lost our paperwork and kept our $2,730 consolidation payment, claiming it was "forfeited" due to our "lack of action." Multiple attempts to resolve this through customer service were met with unreturned calls and endless runarounds. Recently we spoke with ***** in **************** which turned out to be a waste of time. She told us that if we paid off the loan ($57,000), they MIGHT take it back, then proceeded to tell us to contact ARDA or a 3rd party reseller. These people take ZERO accountability for their greedy salespeoples unethical behavior. Save yourself from this expensive mistake. You're better off booking directly through travel sites than getting locked into this deceptive timeshare scheme.

We are truly sorry to hear about your experience with Marriott ************** We apologize if you felt pressured during your three sales tours, which led to purchasing additional ownership points. During the purchase process, we are required to review your credit information, which is then shared with you for your signature and acknowledgment. It appears that you spoke with one of our Executive Customer Advocacy Managers, who thoroughly reviewed your concerns. They confirmed that there was no misrepresentation regarding your purchase and provided you with details about selling your ownership independently.

This business is a scam it is a overpriced business to lure people in with there lies and deceptions.I purchased this timeshare in May 2024 and I have deep regrets that I wish I had never went to their 90 min promotional meeting which turned out to be 2 hr meeting. I was ask for a down payment which I paid and then was promised this large amount of points, was told my payment would be 298 monthly and maintence fee onced year beginning April 2025 $1200 now they have sent me emails saying the fee is now $1400 and it is due now. I notice that out of my $298 payment only about $30 is going toward the princible of the loan that is highway robbery. When I agreed to come to their meeting they promised to pay one night of my current stay (which they did) and a $50.00 gift card, the gift card was only for ****** and I don't live in ** and I was leaving the next day which they knew so that card was not any good to me. This timeshare program is nothing but a scam and they should be stopped or redue the program. I am currently lookly for a why to get out of this timeshare and get some of my money returned. This should be put on the (American Greed program) to really expose them.

We sincerely apologize that your tour took longer than the 90-minute minimum. At times, the sales process can extend beyond this duration depending on the questions asked and if you decide to purchase ownership. This extended time allows us to review credit details, provide an overview of the program, and discuss pricing thoroughly. In the purchase documents, we ensure that maintenance fee details and the interest rate for your loan are clearly outlined. Regarding the incentive for attending the tour, this would have been agreed upon by you and our marketing team prior to the tour. We understand your concerns and are committed to addressing them. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Our agreement with Sheraton Flex began during our stay at ****************************************** in ******* on December 1, 2023. Using points from our Harborside Marriott Bonvoy account, we booked two suites, one for my wife and me, and the other for my son, his family, and the grandkidsas we planned to spend three days at ******. Upon checking in, we were invited to attend a session under the premise that we would learn better how to leverage our ownership. In exchanged, we were offered bonus points to be added to our Marriott Bonvoy card for our time. During the review, they told us that by purchasing the timeshare, our Marriott Bonvoy status would be upgraded from Presidential to Titanium. They also offered additional bonus points if we joined the system, mentioning that we could access the newly launched Abound program through Vistana. From what we understood, this program would provide the same flexibility for using Marriott properties as our Harborside timeshare. However, we later discovered that Sheraton Flex differs from the Harborside timeshare program and does not offer the same structure or access to Marriott properties, despite being told otherwise. Later, we discovered that the loan couldnt be paid off using our Marriott Bonvoy card. Our financial situation and health have changed significantly this year, and we hoped to either cancel the contract or sell the timeshare. However, we learned they dont offer services to help us sell it, contrary to what we believed when we purchased it. This year has been especially difficult for us, were both retired and the ******** employees misrepresenting the product led us to make a decision that has landed us squarely in a position that could lead to financial ruin.

Im truly sorry to hear about the difficulties youve faced with your Sheraton Flex agreement. It sounds like a very frustrating and stressful situation, especially given the changes in your financial and health circumstances. Regarding your Marriott Bonvoy status, the purchase does upgrade your status depending on your ownership level. Unfortunately, we do not offer the option to pay off loans with credit cards. However, you can use a check, debit card, or wire transfer. The Abound program does offer more flexible options for our Owners throughout the Marriott ************** Please note that there is a 7-day rescission period during which you could have canceled the purchase. Additionally, you signed and acknowledged that Marriott ************* offers an exit option, but it is dependent on business conditions. If ************* is offering a deed back, the loan you agreed to would need to be paid in full. You also have the option to sell your ownership on your own. We recommend checking the site ******** to ensure the company you are working with is legitimate.

I want to express my dissatisfaction with Marriotts timeshare program. I was promised specific ownership ownership package, which has not been fulfilled by Marriott. Unfortunately, I was misled into agreeing to a timeshare ownership package under the impression that it offered more than it actually does. Now, I am seeking to terminate my involvement, but Marriott has made it clear they will not allow me to exit the contract due to an open loan. This obstacle has trapped me in an agreement I only entered because I was misinformed about what I was purchasing. I hope this review sheds light on the troubling practices within Marriotts timeshare program and helps others make informed decisions.

Im truly sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with Marriotts timeshare program. After the point of sale, you are provided the documents to review regarding the ownership you signed and acknowledged including the 7-day rescission period during which you could have canceled the purchase. Additionally, you signed and acknowledged that Marriott ************* offers an exit option, but it is dependent on business conditions. If ************* is offering a deed back, the loan you agreed to would need to be paid in full.

After the point of sale, I was told I would receive documents to review regarding the ownership agreement I signed, including details about the seven day recession period during which I could cancel the purchase. I was also informed that the Marriott vacation club offers and exit option, depending on business conditions. However this is not accurate. Instead of proper documents, I was given a flash drive, which made it difficult to view the information.I have never used the timeshare and am now facing significant financial challenges. As a parent of 11 children, seven of whom are still at home, I am struggling to make ends meet. I was under the impression that I could cancel the agreement at any time. The ongoing monthly payments and maintenance fees I unaffordable, and I couldnt even buy all the supplies. My children needed for school.. There are far more practical and affordable ways to plan vacations, and I deeply regret this purchase.

Thank you for your response. I understand the terms youve outlined, but I am truly in a difficult financial situation. I have seven children still at home, and with eleven children in total, my financial priorities have shifted drastically. I genuinely believed I would be able to cancel the program when circumstances became unmanageable. Unfortunately, the ongoing costsboth the monthly payments and maintenance feesare something I can no longer afford. Ive even struggled to provide my children with basic necessities, like school supplies. I kindly ask Marriott ************* to consider my situation and offer a more compassionate solution.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with Marriott ************* regarding my attempts to cancel my timeshare. For several months, I have repeatedly reached out to both their resale team and management, hoping to find a reasonable solution for cancellation, yet my efforts have been met with silence or an unwillingness to assist! My initial purchase was made under serious stress. During my most recent interaction, the salesman, ******* *****,employed seriously aggressive tactics, including yelling at me. I found myself trapped in a high-pressure situation for hours until I reluctantly signed some document. To make matters worse, I was threatened with legal action if I failed to return the paperwork promptly. Despite sharing these distressing experiences with Marriott *************, I have been met with indifference and told I must settle my loan before they would even consider my exit. This ordeal has left me feeling trapped to a company that is ruthless. I feel bound to an ownership that I was pressured into, and the complete lack of empathy and compassion from the company has only expanded my dissatisfaction. I ask Marriott ************* to act ethically and release me from this burdensome ownership!

I was not aware of the rescission period or I would have surely utilized it. So if I could have canceled in the first 7 days why can I not cancel now? Your reply did not even address your salesman, ******* ***** yelling at me. Perhaps that is allowed as long as he makes a sale? The actions that I have witnessed by Marriott timeshare staff is appalling to say the least and I will make sure I alert as many people as possible to my dealings with your company. People expect more from the Marriott name but it seems that greed has taken over and customer satisfaction is out the window.
