Can I give 0 stars? While in ******, in lieu of a timeshare, I opted to buy an encore vacation package as a single person. They faithfully charged my credit card monthly, but when I attempted to book the trip, they asked if I was cohabitating with anyone. I have a roommate, and they said it was required that this person accompanies me on this trip. They further insisted that this clause is in the contract I signed and refused to book my trip. I called again once I found the contract which made no mention of my relationship status, and the person booked my trip. I was called back and they let me know the confirmation was rescinded because they upheld the original agent's assessment. I don't know why Marriott would attach their name to such a shady operation. They are not affiliated with Marriott at all. If I could give 0 stars, I would! 10 out of 10, I do not recommend!Marriott Vacations Worldwide

This has been a total scam. I have been trying to contact Marriott for months about this false and misleading timeshare but they just won't answer. *************************** told us that we needed to buy points now as they were going up in price. We would have the opportunity to sell this at a later date for more money. This was "guaranteed return" as they knew the prices would increase. While we held the property, we could rent it on Vacation Candy for great returns. None of this was true! This is not an investment at all. It is all a huge scam! They fill your head with lies and then put you deeper and deeper into their control with contracts and upgrades and more fake guarantees. ******************* and ******************* told us that upgrading would guarantee that we don't even pay maintenance fees based on our tier of ownership. Completely false claims, one after another! We have been trying to reach them and end this tilted relationship but our concerns fall on deaf ears. After we are signed up, they only want the money! They have no regard for the truth or even how their own employees are behaving. Please stay away!Marriott Vacations Worldwide

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience. Your signed and acknowledged purchase documents state that the purchase is for personal use only and not an investment. These documents also reviewed the cost of maintenance fees. For assistance with the usage of your ownership and details about fees, please reach out to ***** Services. Does not deserve a one star review at all. This company refuses to work with their clients and refuse to fix or ensure an issue gets resolved. They continue to call and state we have not paid due to them posting it wrong in accounting when payment is received stopping us to use any points or the club benefits. This has been going on for three months and we are tired of it. This issue must be resolved and correct at a corporate level before further actions are taken against the company.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

Marriott's advertised time share flexibility is misleading, as there's rarely availability when we try to book. My circumstances have changed; my wife is in assisted living with memory issues, and we can't use the timeshare as planned. Despite reaching out twice for cancellation, I've received no response. This lack of support is disappointing. I urgently request the cancellation of my timeshare to alleviate this stress and frustration.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I am thoroughly disappointed with Marriott ************* and their lack of assistance regarding my timeshare cancellation. I recently reached out to them to inquire about exiting my ownership, only to receive a completely unhelpful response. They stated, "We received your inquiry to exit your ownership. At this time there is not an option to exit your ownership due to you have an open loan with Marriott *************. You may inquire with outside vendors to sell your Marriott ownership. We are not able to recommend any vendors. Once the loan is paid in full you may inquire with our ************************ to see if there is an exit option at that time." It is clear that they are not even trying to help; instead, they are just focused on getting their money. They offered no guidance or support, essentially telling me to handle it myself. This is incredibly frustrating and unacceptable for a company with Marriott's reputation. I expected much better customer service, and I would strongly advise others to be wary before engaging with their *************.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

We regret to hear about your experience. Just like other real estate transactions, we cannot offer an exit option if there is an open loan. However, you can sell your ownership on the external market. If you decide to use a timeshare resale company, we recommend evaluating the company by asking for references. For more information, you can visit the *************************************** (ARDA) at www.arda.org.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I am the owner of a timeshare at a Marriott resort. I recently contacted Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) to exit my ownership.MVW's "offer" to me was that I could deed back my ownership to them for free. Their "offer" noted that alternatively I could sell my ownership on the open market but that MVW had right of first refusal and that when ownership is sold on the open market, the purchaser will NOT have the option to exchange the week for Marriott Bonvoy points or enroll in Marriott ************* Destinations Exchange Program.Essentially if I don't accept MVW's offer of deeding my ownership to them for free, I could try to sell my ownership on the open market but two of the selling points for ownership would not be available to the purchaser, thus devaluing the value of my ownership on the open market. Further, I have no guarantee that even if I found a purchaser, that MVW wouldn't then exercise its right of first refusal.Simply put, this experience has completely soured me on MVW and I will make sure to tell my circle of family and friends to stay as far away from MVW as possible. If I could give negative stars to this review I would.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

We appreciate your feedback and hope you have enjoyed your ownership over the years. Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee exit options as they depend on current business conditions. While you can sell your ownership on the open market, it's important to note the limitations regarding the exchange of weeks for Marriott Bonvoy points or enrollment in the Marriott ************* Destinations Exchange Program for the new owner. We understand your concerns and regret any frustration this has caused. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

Never have I come across a more disingenuousorganization. I will spare the details from the nightmare this company put me through, but I will let you know that trying to cancel the ownership feels impossible. My account is paid in full and I simply asked them to close my account. A representativeby the name of *************************** has given me nothing but a headache. He pretends to misunderstandthe simplest of statements as an attempt to frustrate me and delay the process. All I want is to put this timeshare behind me, but ******** refuses to help. I can't believe that such a scam is, firstly, legal, secondly, so successful in *******. It's only a matter of time before the powers that be drop the hammer on these guys. If I am in good standing, and I request that my account be closed, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON why ANY company can't honor this request. I am sick of being jerked around and I want them out of my life NOW. I am appalled by the sheer lack of care. It makes sense, considering this company loves money and hates its customers. They already have my money. Why hold someone hostage like this????Marriott Vacations Worldwide

I am writing to file a formal complaint against the Marriott ************* (MVC) regarding our timeshare agreement. Despite initial promises and perceived benefits, my experience with MVC has left me disappointed and seeking cancellation of our timeshare. We have been unable to utilize our timeshare to its fullest potential for almost a year now, with high costs, limited availability, and poor trade-offs. The maintenance fees have drastically increased, and the system's inflexibility does not align with our vacation needs. We request assistance in canceling our timeshare due to financial burdens and underwhelming utilityMarriott Vacations Worldwide

Marriott ************************ has completely let us down after being loyal customers for several years now. Our experience with our timeshare has been far from what we were initially promised, and we find ourselves in a desperate situation that we can no longer bear. We feel that we have been taken advantage of by Marriott, a company we once held in high regard. The pressure exerted on us by the sales team was relentless, intentionally mentally exhausting us to the point where we felt we had no choice but to accept the timeshare. It was a decision made under duress, without fully understanding the implications and financial obligations we were committing to. The financial strain has only intensified with the discovery of multiple maintenance fees, one for the vacation club and one for the timeshare. We were told that by switching to Marriott ************** our maintenance fees would decrease, not triple in amount. THIS YEAR ALONE, THEY INCREASED THESE FEES BY $1,000! The misinformation has only added to our confusion and financial burden. We were also told that this membership would increase in value over time and would be easily sold when we no longer wanted it or could use it. These are not true and have put us on a very uneven financial footing. As retired Navy servicemembers who dedicated 30 years of our lives to serving *****************, my wife and I have begun to show the wear and tear of our service. Our limited and fixed incomes, coupled with mounting medical expenses, have made it increasingly difficult to afford the financial burden of the timeshare. We are hoping that the plea we made for sympathy, with dignity, will be heard and they will terminate our contract, as requested.Marriott Vacations Worldwide

Marriott just increased my yearly maintenance fee by over $300 per year. Even worse they kept sending the bill to the wrong address and now I have late fees they refused to waive. Even though they admit sending bills to the wrong address. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it they said, if I dont pay they said they would tack a foreclosure on my credit. Didnt seem to care at all when I called them.Marriott Vacations Worldwide
