We were offered a trip to ******* and felt that the pressure of the sales pitch was moderate, although the meeting did last longer than 90 minutes as the representative left multiple times during our discussion. Initially, we thought this sounded like a great idea and could be split between ourselves and our children. However, once we left the presentation, confusion set in, and it became unclear how to use our points for multiple vacations. We weren't informed of any operating fees, ownership fees, or taxes after our monthly payments. It soon became apparent that figuring out how to use the points was too difficult for us to manage, so we lost the desire to try. The monthly payments of $340 for the next six years at a *****% interest rate is something that we cannot reasonably commit to and instead would prefer to save for a vacation through Redweek. We have been seeking resolution through Marriott directly and all that happens is that they do is pass the baton to another department that never responds. Marriott is not the enterprise we thought it would be. It's built on the backs of hardworking people such as ourselves just to take advantage. We get nothing in return and it is not worth it.

AFTER BEING A TIMESHARE OWNER FOR OVER 20 YEARS, THEY OFFERED ME ZERO DOLLARS TO BUY MY TIMESHARE BACK. CROOKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!At this time, MVW is offering an opportunity for you to relinquish your ownership, a direct deed back, at no cost to you. While this transaction will not result in any financial proceeds, it is a quick way to exit the program and eliminate your ongoing annual maintenance fee commitment. The anticipated time to complete the ownership transfer is 120 days.

Thank you for sharing your concerns, and we appreciate your long-standing commitment as a timeshare owner for over 20 years. We understand that your experience *** have left you feeling frustrated, and we want to address your sentiments. Our current offering for ownership relinquishment, a direct deed back or buy back, is intended to provide owners with an option to exit the program without incurring any additional cost or if available we do purchase back ownership. We want to emphasize that the decision to offer either exit option is based on current business conditions. It's important to note that this information is conveyed to all owners when they initially join our program, outlining the potential exit options available. While we understand your disappointment, we want to assure you that we are continually evaluating our processes and offerings to better serve our valued owners.

There is a class action lawsuit against ********************* for defrauding customers. Look it up! We bought an encore package last year to come out this year on Spring break. We were told there is plenty of inventory and booking a few months in advance would suffice. Of course when I called, they did not have the dates that we wanted, so we settled for a week earlier (March 31st to April 4th). The day after we booked it, they called us back and told us that we needed to pay an additional $600 because of the March surcharge. Now take into account, we wouldn't be able to check in until 4pm on the 31st of March and we actually wanted to come April 3rd to April 7th anyway. After speaking to at least 3 different people and spending hours on the phone, the final result was them cancelling our reservation because we wouldn't pay the $600 ******. The place isn't worth $600 with its nasty disgusting pools, awful customer service, and smelly rooms, let alone a $600 surcharge for 8 hours. Customer service is non existent and common sense doesn't exist. And don't buy into all of these positive reviews, half of them are fake and or bought for. If you want to get ripped off, then you should definitely look into coming here. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else. Marriot ************* is a scam and don't let them try and tell you otherwise. You are buying snake oil if you invest a dime into this company.

We sincerely apologize for the challenges you encountered with your Encore package and any inconvenience this may have caused. We take your feedback seriously and want to address your concerns. We understand the frustration you experienced with the availability and the surcharge, and we regret any miscommunication. Encore packages do come with an addendum that provides details about availability not being guaranteed and the potential for fee increases depending on the season and time of travel. We apologize if this information was not conveyed clearly during the booking process. We're sorry to hear about your perception of our property and the customer service you received. Your experience falls short of the high standards we aim to provide.

I originally puirchased the timeshare on Marriott's specific timeshare program/benefits. Not realizing it takes years to accrue the points for your dream vacation and now the maintenance fees are grossly inflated without any prior notice. The main reason for my complaint is I am in the middle of trying to purchase a new home. I have to admit I was late on a couple of payments. But MVC is stating to the credit bureaus that this is a mortgage so the credit companies are thinking I was actually late on my mortgage payments. Even after calling their customer service THREE times, all three times financial services stated it is a time share and it is the way the billing is done. And everyone told me they have a letter that states it is a timeshare. But every letter basically states that it is a mortgage. Because MVC will not just come out and state this is a timeshare I will not be able to get my house. GOOD GRIEF who cares it states it is a time share. I will be cancelling my TIMESHARE with these people today!

We sincerely apologize for any confusion and inconvenience you've experienced regarding the billing of your ownership. We understand the importance of clear communication, especially when it comes to financial matters. We want to clarify that, indeed, your timeshare with Marriott ************* is a real estate transaction and non-payment to the mortgage fees that are accessed to you, will impact your credit.

They stood me up without notice or a refund for a shore excursion to *******, ***** that I paid for via Marriott Abound OVC. They did not notify any of the group by email nor offer money back. We were left standing at the port. I am now having to bother with this process. Horrible customer service.

As Everyone knows, this terrible Disaster happened to the beautiful ***************. This is why we come to Maui to spend our time with dinner entertainment in *******. So we contacted Marriott vacation international and stated with this disaster all we wanted to do is see if we could get our money back or at least **************, because even with two years to use our vacation these poor people are going through so much with such lost, plus the air quality is no good and I have issues with asthma and couldn't go there even if I wanted to. Plus at this time the people of Maui have very much stated that they are grieving and do not want any tourists so of course we listened and we as a family do not want to be any kind of ****** to them. They are beautiful people and we listened to what they have to say.So when contacting the vacation International, To start out they are completely rude and have absolutely no sympathy for the people of Maui. Not an empathetic bone in their bodies for these people of Maui, why would they, we are talking to people in *******. It's all about the money. First we asked if we could get a refund because of this Disaster that has happened, they expect you to come to maui with all of this morning and lost and all of the other issues that **** is having and continue like nothing has happened. So yes they stated that they will not give us our money back and if we want to go to another Island we need to pay more money and lose a day. so now we are at 4 nights and paying more money. We are on the phone with them for hours and this is what this company does, They do not care about you or the people of Maui at all, it's all about their money. As for Marriott *********************** I am just getting started on letting people know what you are doing. I Guarantee 100% we are not the only people you have done this to over this disaster. You took ****** of ours, you truly should be ashamed

We appreciate your feedback, and we're sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced with your Maui reservation. We truly understand the impact of the disaster on the community and empathize with your concerns. We want to clarify that our Maui resorts did reopen for owner stays on 9/15/23. If you purchased travel insurance, we recommend opening a claim with the insurance company for possible reimbursement due to the specific circumstances you've outlined. We apologize if our previous interactions did not convey the level of empathy and understanding we aim to provide.

I'm a chairman member and have been for many years. I just went to another "presentation" and was talked into buying more points so I could take big international trips. I booked 2 tours using ****** club points which costs over $23,000. Then, out of curiosity, I called ******** ************ and asked how much it would cost to pay cash. It would cost less than $14,000 to pay cash for the exact same tours!Marriott charges almost twice the price to their owners!!!

We appreciate your continued loyalty as a Chairman Owner. While we do offer options such as ******** Tours for owners to use their points towards tours, the best value for your points is staying at Marriott ************* properties.

My ******** purchased a platinum week & a silver week at Ocean Pointe in N Palm Beach over 25 years ago. Our decision to purchase was based on Marriott's specific timeshare program/benefits. Unfortunately we trusted Marriott to provide the program which we purchased throughout the lifetime of our timeshares. For the first several years we were very happy with the benefits that Marriott sold us. Marriott then began to change the program and has continued changing it to this day. Now our weeks are virtually USELESS to us because the present program is NOTHING close to what Marriott sold to us. The maintenance fees are now grossly inflated. Now All I ever receive from Marriott is a "canned empathy script". (Note Marriott's response to this complaint!). MORAL OF THIS STORY: BUYER BEWARE! MARRIOTT CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. WE WILL NEVER CONSIDER DOING BUSINESS WITH ANY MARRIOTT BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE!! SHAME ON YOU MARRIOTT!!

The worst customer service and customer appreciation. My goal is tell EVERYONE to never buy a Marriott product. 20 years with a timeshare in Hawaii. When purchased told you can sell it back to us. We bought ours because my parents had two with Marriott (Palm Springs and Ft. Lauderdale) and had expressed great appeal to Marriott. Now, we want to sell it back and Marriot will be pay you nothing and just take the deed back (so they can resell for $24,000 - my purchase price 2004) - of course we paid yearly (19 years) maintenance dues of close to $3000 a year! What a great company! Disgusting. *** Note they purchased back of my parents. Love how you constantly change the rules too.

Run from Marriott as fast as you can!!
We have 3 deeded weeks and stupidly bought 1000 Marriott points as the salesman said it would enhance our exchange opportunities. After paying inflated maintenance fee for several years and never getting any substantial benefit, I found someone who wanted them. I gifted these points for nothing, but then had to pay Marriott $3,000 to transfer them.
Now I want to trade one of my deeded weeks for bonvoy points. I've called repeatedly to find out when the deadline is and have been told 12/31/2023. Well this morning they told me that nothing can be done because deeded week reservations cannot be modified within 60 days before arrival and I am inside this window. No one mentioned this during my previous calls.
I used to love Marriott but since they started their Vacation Club points program the rules change all the time, the representatives are not well trained and they could care less about their customers.

We sincerely appreciate your feedback and apologize for any frustration you've experienced. It's disheartening to hear that your purchase of points did not meet your expectations. Our 10-day recission period is designed to give owners the opportunity to review their purchase documents thoroughly. We understand your concerns about deadlines and modification policies, and these are in place to ensure fair inventory distribution among all owners.
