Location: Coast Dental in *********, **. I had work done on 20 Dec 2021 and 11 Jan 2022 and continue to receive a bill for work that is covered by my insurance company. The amount of the bill is $372.50. I have reached out to Coast Dental every month to resolve this issue; 10 months total. They insist on telling me that they've sent in the x-ray even though the insurance company can confirm they have not. The bill I have most recently received is one that will go to collections if this matter is not resolved even though I've been trying to resolve the issue since my first bill was received in January. Each time I call, both Riverview location and corporate office, I'm put on hold. After being placed on hold for upwards of 30 minutes, the phone retreats to a voicemail, which is full! After speaking with my insurance company multiple times and again yesterday 19 Sept. 2022, they informed me of the x-rays that have been requested over the past 10 months so this bill could be resolved. The x-rays are not being sent to United Concordia, therefore, I'm expected to pay this bill in which I have insurance coverage that will cover the work that was done. I was also walked through how to submit the 4 x-rays to the insurance company. I'm more than willing to show those at Coast Dental in Riverview how to do their job. Per the insurance company, they have NOT received ANY documentation as requested from Coast for both 20 Dec. 2021 and 11 Jan. 2022 dates of service.I want my bill paid as this will go to collections and interfere with my very good standing credit. Legal action will be taken if it isn't resolved by EOB on 21 Sept 2022.Business Response

Made an appointment around 10/2021 they kept canceling appointments till 3/21/2022. Five months. When Came in office. At least 5 people came in after me over 20 minutes. Past my appointment time. When made appointment asked if I needed to send x-rays from ************************************************************************** no when making the appointment. Had periodontic x-rays sent. Told Dental hygienist I didn't know since I had X-rays of a full set in 2021 if they needed them transfer I could have them transferred right away. She said no. Also tried to do oral cancer screening not covered by insurance and had me sign waiver because insurance would not pay for deep cleaning. Telling her a dentist in ************************************************************************************* all pulled! After full set x-rays waited an hour for a dentist to see me in dental chair for Teleheath. Dental hygienist kept talking to front desk being asked about people paying cash usually whitening of teeth and telling them they could be seen the following day as I had to wait 5 months from my appointment with them canceling on me three times. I felt discriminated against also I was lied to. Now they are trying to tell me I owe $47. 56 for full mouth x-rays. Even though told making appointment and date of appointment. Could have full set sent. Never even saw dentist or spoke to dentist of appointment. Also because they knew I'm disabled I believe they definitely took advantage of me. When speaking to my insurance company about them not paying the bill they told me the dental office should have called them! Tried to numerous times speak to a manager or billing department about this bill always being told they are busy.Business Response

Dates of transactions: Deposit, 3/28/22: $22.44 Monthly Payments, 4/48/22 - 9/28/22: $71.05Total: $448.74The business committed to providing one (1) palladium crown on 3/38/22.The nature of my dispute: The dental assistant conducted a mold of the tooth requiring a crown for submission of a permanent crown. A temporary crown was provided in the interim of the permanent crown. The first crown" appointment (April 2022) to install the permanent crown resulted in the Dentist cracking the crown when trying to shave some of the crown to fit my tooth. The temporary crown was placed back on my tooth until the permanent was created and delivered to the facility. The second "crown" appointment May 2022) resulted in the crown not fitting and the Dentist stated that she is having issues with the quality of crowns coming from the said "lab" and she would have to remold and submit for another crown. I became very frustrated as I have had crowns in the past and not had any issues with the crown fitting. I was now having to take time from work for these appointments. I requested they put the temporary back on so I could find another dental clinic and requested a refund and cancelation of the finance agreement with ******.They did not cancel the transactions, were not returning calls and became irritated and dismissive by my inquiries. I was told by the office manager that the agreement with ****** would be canceled, and the Coast Dental HQ agreed to fully refund my payments.I received email transactions that they could not be able to approve my request to cancel/adjust and Coastal Dental was not able to approve the request due to an unresolved insurance balance - insurance paid.I visited the office discussing my concerns and experience with the Office Manager who told me they would offer a full refund. I called and left messages for the Office Manager with no return contact. The case is unresolved.****** Agreement: 95--731-893Business Response

Transaction date - June 28, 2022 I paid $326.00 (my portion). Zero balance was left Coast dental seated a permanent crown on my right front tooth. The crown is not seated properly, therefore causing sensitivity and much discomfort. I can actually put my finger nail and feel my tooth. The crown was not fitted under my gumline The temporary crown was perfect and i had no problems whatsoever. The issue is with the permanent crown.I called several times and was told that they will escalate my case to cooperate in *****, ******* and someone should get back in touch with me within ***** hours. Days later, someone called and after i explained the problem, she stated that she will contact her manager and get back in touch with me. ***** later someone called and left a message that i should call back to set up an appointment to have the crown remade. I called back within 5 minutes and no one answered the phone. Since then, I have made several attempts and all i am hearing is that they are sorry and will escalate the problem to coorperate in *****.since June 28, 2022. At this time, I am requessting a refund so that i can get a reputable dentist to remake the crown. Coast dental is very unreliable. I have to endure much discomfort and it seems that no one cares. Just refund what i paid to end this dispute. I also need to be compensated for the discomfort due to the crown that was not well made. If have any problem with the tooth as as result of coast dental negligence, coast dental will have to cover the charges. I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE TEMPORARY CROWN,THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE PERMANENT CROWN, that goes to show the the crown is no good.Business Response

Complaint: 17930587
I am rejecting this response because:One of the managers from Coast Dental **************** called me in July 2022 on my cell phone and she informed me that she would return the call; however, she did not return the call. The dates listed on Coast dental response indicating that they called me is untrue because I have a list of all calls received from my cell phone provider. I was able to reach out to the cascade office on Friday, October 7, 2022, they were not even aware of my concerns, however, after much research and phone calls I was able to go in to see the dentist who adjusted the crown and told me if I continue to experience discomfort, I should give the office a call.
The issue here is very poor customer service. I reached out to ********************** several times and received only promises and they refused to call me back. I also provided my cell phone number to coast dental. Coast Dental need to provide me with an apology and I would like to know what telephone # they have on file for me. My number is ************.

On 5/26/22 I had an office visit for the delivery of 2 Zirconia Full Crowns. A tech started the process of placing and cementing the crowns. The dentist came in for 5 minutes to assure that they were placed/cemented correctly and to make adjustments. I had active dental work in progress with Clear Choice Dentistry; an implant was adjacent to the crowns and I advised the General dentist of this. I do not recall the names of the dentist or his tech. When I went to Clear Choice I was told that a significant amount of cement from the crowns that Coast Dental placed was put on the implant. Clear Choice was unable to unscrew the implant cap and I had to undergo a painful 1 hour process to remove it because of the cement. Additionally, the placement of the implant was delayed because of this. I was told that the cost of my office visit copay was $10 which I paid by check. I'd previously paid $1351 for the crowns on a previous visit when casts were made. I recently received a bill dated 8/19/22 for a past due amount of $231. One of the charges was $82 for "Re-evaluation Post Operative OV" which is inapplicable as I never had such a visit. I called the number on the invoice to get clarification 10 times over the past week. It goes to a voicemail which states it is full. The number is **************. Additionally I called the Coast Dental ******** office where the work was performed. That's goes to voicemail as well. I've left a detailed message with no response.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: this statement by Coast Dental "As of 10/10/2022 refund has been issued for the credit on the account back to the original payment." is a non-answer. What does it mean? Where is the check for $47.00. The $47.00 is my money and due to me. Coast Dental is f'g with you and me. They know that they owe me $47.00 and they are just f'g with me and you/BBB. They are criminals.I paid them $47.00 in 2021Dec and my insurance company paid them $47.00 for the same procedure. They are criminals. That $47.00 that my insurance paid to them is MY MONEY. Criminal charges need to be filed against CD for theft. Period.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution puts an end to this nightmare dealing with this criminal organization known as Coast Dental.CD did not refund the $47.00 that both my insurance company and I paid. CD only refunded $44.60 (off the top of my head.) Regardless CD did not refund the full $47.00. They are a criminal organization. If I had not finally got BBB involved, I would still be fighting a losing battle against these stinking criminals.
Thank you BBB for you assistance in this matter. I hope that BBB will withdraw any BBB accredidation now and forever more.

This place owes me over $800 in refunds for work that they have not done. It has been eight months and they've been giving me the runaround regarding my refund. Although they promised to refund me, they have not done so. This all happened because I am a cash pay Client and they charged me upfront for all of the services that I received. I paid over $3500 for services over a few months time and never received the final service which was a crown. I want my money back. They have been promising mean that they have processed a refund since February and again over the last few months and I've not received a dime. I'm calling a lawyer today.Business Response
