On a hot Sunday afternoon we recently took our 6 mo old puppy-Chloe to the emergency clinic when she was not walking or standing right. We thought maybe heatstroke. Before a diagnosis was given we were the told cost will be $2000-$4000.The vet ran multiple tests and ruled out heat stroke. We thought Chloe ate something like fresh mulch and may have been poisoned. Vet said no since there was no indication of toxicity in bloodwork. Euthanasia may be an option. Vet put Chloe on fluids and an hour later returned with a new diagnosis.Since Chloe was spayed 10 days ago there may be an internal infection that may have caused meningitis.Chloe needed to see a neurologist for a spinal tap-which would be the next day and transport to a different office.By the way the cost is now $6000- $8000.When we hesitated at the cost, vet AGAIN offered euthanasia. No other life saving treatment offered. This is definitely the way to get you to whip out your credit card and say do whatever it takes. When we asked her what the treatment was for meningitis she said steroids and antibiotics. DAH- why not start this treatment immediately since this is a common treatment? This method of care would do no harm. Also by waiting until the next day Chloe's condition could worsen or she could have died. We told her to start the treatment. This was 11:00pm.By 5:30am next morning she was almost 100% better and doing fine. The new vet on-call said she did not think it was meningitis but a toxin. They managed to get the bill to $2000 with many many charges and then a "courtesy" discount. ASK QUESTIONS! DO NOT MAKE RASH DECISIONS.THEY ARE IN THIS FOR THE $$- NO MATTER THE COST (FINANCIALLY OR EMOTIONALLY) TO PET OR HUMAN.

I agree with everyone who posted horrible reviews about this place. My 14 year old diabetic poodle was blind and showing signs of dementia. I took her to Blue Pearl in Michigan. They charged me $5,000 to tell me nothing. When I went in there I told them I just wanted to know if she was in pain. Nothing more. I knew she didn’t have much time left, but I wanted to make sure she wasn’t suffering. They will come in with a list of charges one column is the lowest amount it will be and the second column is the highest it will be. They will ask you to sign the agreement. I asked them if they could keep it at the lowest amount and they agreed. When I went to pick up my dog the cost was all the way up to the highest amount. And they never did tell me if she was in pain or what was wrong. They just experimented on my dog. I have another puppy now and I guarantee she will NEVER set foot in Blue Pearl.

Angie L. Blue Pearl animal hospital in Southfield Mich is the biggest rip offs! I can't believe they get away with what they get away with. My Dads cat was three years old had crystallized kidneys they took the cat in for evaluation and before you know it took 5000 dollars to put a catheter in the cat was told the cat needed to stay a couple nights to get the kidney levels down.day before picking up the cat the hospital called and said the levels were still high and they needed to do a second catheterization it was going to be an additional 3500 hundred on top of the 5000 already in their hands. With a 80% chance of it happening again. They had to put their cat to sleep. The bill had a lot of miscellaneous charges like room and board. 600 dollars for keeping the cat for two days. They don't care about your fur babies. They should be charged for grand theft. And imprisoned for their actions. Please don't ever take your animals to Blue pearl. My dad not only lost a cat, but was double jabbed because of the cost. What ever happened to the love of animals? SHAME ON YOU! 6/8/2023

This is a public service WARNING for all animal lovers that needs to be told about Blue Pearl emergency vet and it's founder ****** ****. It is in response to a puff piece about him and his real estate empire. You are admired by many and I hope they read and share this in an effort to prevent more greed induced misery. Read even more about his first attempt at real estate that failed so he became a veterinarian and with his brother started Blue Pearl Vet Service. (Now he is doing something in Tampa.) They offer 24 hour service but unless you have at least $1000 to spend, you are out of luck. A friend took her 6 year old cat there for a head injury after being hit by a car. I have volunteerd for 40 years at vet clinics, shelters and for individuals so I know a little about triaging an injured animal. The cat was alert, no shaking of the head, no yowls of pain. All limbs functional and intact. Just some shock symptoms that were quite mild. The kitty reached out and held her hand all the way to the vet. They were already administering fluids which really should have been all that was required. It is SOP for initial stabilization. Then she was offered 2 days of observation for between $8000.00 and 10,000 dollars. The other choice was removing all help and putting her beloved pet to sleep. Being one of the majority of the 'little people' she did not have 8-10 on hand so had to opt to have her friend released back to God. And it only cost her $1000. Now she and her 96 year old husband have sad memories of their friend of 6 years and this is most likely happening at every Blue Pearl vet place in all the 29 states it is in. Old hearts have less time to heal and I pray my friend lives to get through this grief. So go to ybor city and soak up some of that karma. Read some Blue Pearl reviews if you like horror stories. Sorry there are no negative stars. I would give them 1000.

There are many negative reviews here but few of them actually include a specific hospital location, which makes them essentially useless. Wake up, people! So here's my review (and I am referring to my family's experience with the ************** Hospital located at *********************************************************************).Our cat ******** developed what is known as a FUO (fever of unknown origin) and was essentially burning up at 4:00 AM, so we took her in to Bleu ****** the only pet hospital in the area that is open 24/7. The staff was alert and compassionate and we were seen with a minimum of wait time, then ******** was admitted and they started administering fluids since she was dehydrated. Tests were run and we soon found everything that was NOT wrong - no poisoning, no obstructed intestines, and liver and pancreas all functioning normally. Since they had to keep her until she was stable, we nervously went home. Over the course of three days she made steady improvements with the administration of anti-viral and broad spectrum antibiotics. The staff at Blue ***** kept us updated with status reports, and finally on day three she was cleared to be released. We never did pinpoint a root cause of the fever, but thanks to excellent care and open communication, the cat has recovered and is as happy as ever.THANK YOU, Blue ****** for helping our cat and our family!--*******.

I had terrible experience with them. They sent my dog home dehydrated and his surgery incision was leaking like a faucet. They only care about money. I don’t recommend anyone taking a pet to them!!!!
Luckily his surgery did come out successful but spent another 4000 on top of original cost with all his complications. They marked medications up about 300%

I spent many hours and lots of money the other night to have my labs dewclaw removed that had been broke. They charged me almost $200 to just read from a computer generated report for 2 min. But that wasnt even half of the cost. Honestly I didnt care I was concerned about my dog being in pain. I was told to both return in 2 days to have the bandaged removed and was told another time to return in 10 days. It took me 5 days to get back over there and have them remove the bandage. I was told by their staff to come back in 31/2 hours to see if they could remove the bandage. I went home and removed the bandage. They were not busy. It was 4:30.pm. They wanted to blow me off to the next shift. I will never darken there doorstep again, and they will not see another penny of my money. They showed me they do not care about animals only themselfs and money. I will tell anyone with pets to stay away from this place. It took 2 min to remove the bandage.

We live in rural Oklahoma. Two afternoons ago one of our dogs got into an argument with a barbed-wire fence, and got a 1.5" laceration about 1/4" deep right under one of his armpits. It was deep enough to need stitches. So, the next day my wife spent hours phoning local vets, including our regular vet, trying to find an appointment, but everybody was booked solid.
I had the number of a pet-ER that I'd used years ago when another dog tangled with a porcupine, and they'd graciously spent more than 3 hours removing over 500 quills ( !!! ) and charged us just $500. So, I called their number, and found out they'd sold their practice to an outfit called Blue Pearl. But, they told us to come on in. Well, we loaded up the dog in the un-air conditioned farm truck and drove an hour-and-a-quarter to Blue Pearl, with an 80-lb dog in the front seat -- only to be told there that they had a MINIMUM CHARGE FOR SURGERIES OF $1500-2000. I told them I'm retired, and $1500 represents a month's savings, provided we don't go anywhere, don't do anything, and have no emergency expenses. A month's savings for us, half an hour's work for them ... To add injury to insult, they COULD have told us this over the phone, and saved us many long, hot hours driving, a tank of gas, and road tolls. But, noooooo... Instead, we spent an entire hot, miserable day bouncing around Oklahoma like the ball in a pinball machine.
Well, we left, after re-phoning our regular vet, who took pity on our tale of woe, and said she'd try to work us in. Getting there involved another 1 1/2-hour drive, because Blue Pearl is NE of us, and our vet is south of us.
Long story short, dog is now fixed-up and doing well. But, I Googled "Blue Pearl" and found they're owned by the gigantic conglomerate Mars candy company. Go figure. Big capitalism at its finest.
Avoid these guys like the plague, unless you're made of money.

These people are only about the money. Not kind or empathetic to the animals. And insulting to any pet owner that asks a question. Avoid these places for the sake of your pet.

BluePearl Pet ER is a SCAM. They do not care about your or your pet. They only want your money. Do not be fooled - they do NOT have emergency staff and equipment available 24/7 as they advertise. They are trained to bring you in, lie to you, and milk you for all they can. This place should be sued and shut down.My whole experience at Blue ***** was traumatizing. Its unethical to lie to patients, charge them thousands for overnight care because they do not have anyone who can run tests until the next day!!! That is not emergency care. That is lying. That is fraud. I came in at 1 pm on a Sunday, they lied to me, my dog suffered needlessly in their care, and died in the middle of the night. They showed zero compassion for my dogs condition, gave me no diagnosis, and the only thing they were sure about was collecting their money. I would never recommend Blue ***** pet hospital to anyone, will never go back, and will tell everyone I know what a SCAM of a business this is.
