      f I could rate 0 Stars, I would! This company is the WORST that I have ever dealt with! & I have dealt with quite a few within the last few years! Home River Group employees are Extremely Unprofessional and Inconsiderate of their tenants and they are ALL SCAMMERS! My husband and I were switched over to this company from Alabama Rental Managers! After the switch, Home River neglected to contact us to receive ANY updated contact information or lease agreements. After WE contacted them, inquiring about a new lease they gave us 2 Weeks to sign a new lease with their company, in which, both my husband and I BOTH were to sign the agreement in order not to be placed on the Month to Month Rental Rate. One document was signed by me and they claimed to have sent the primary document to my husband where he was “chosen” to select the option to have a 12 Month lease; however, HE NEVER RECEIVED THE EMAIL TO SIGN and we were automatically placed on the Month to Month lease agreement (which I believe was on purpose to get MORE money from us) After talking with Julia Fitzgerald, she claimed that we were given several weeks to sign and informed us that “she is not our parent to run us down to sign a lease” NO YOU’RE NOT…but how unprofessional are you and the rest of the Home River team to not consider providing multiple ways of communicating with your NEW tenants!! Email is not everyone’s primary form of communication. A phone call or letter in the mail would have been a wonderful WELCOME! WE DEFINITELY RECEIVED multiple phone calls, emails & A LETTER in the mail ONCE WE DIDN’T PAY YOU RENT!! Especially since we NEVER SIGNED AN Official LEASE! Now we’re getting all type of COMMUNICATION! This company’s customer service and care is HORRIBLE! I give it 0 STARS!

      Renting from HomeRiver Group has been a nightmare. Zero stars. This has been a horrible renting experience. The most unprofessional business I have ever worked with. Per my lease the landlord is to cover water charges due to it being an old house and a duplex- I have paid $903 in water- for my side and the other. I have been trying to resolve this issue for months with no resolution. The time has come to renew my lease and I am doing one more month so I have time to move and will never deal with this company again, unless its in court for the money owed for the water.I just received my last energy bill and there is over $600 charged for water! Which they said my reimbursement would be given to me after moveout- which is illegal!

      Wish they have no start this company is a big scam I looked at all this tenants having same problem. I moved to a house in **** ******* ** Dayton ohio last November 2022 since December I didn’t stop complaining about mold smell I have to pay from my own money to prove it this company is a joke they send a contractor with no material to detect mold some off them say they smell mold in my house but in the report is another story I’have to take them to court to break my lease. I wish I can be in contact with few tenants and we can take them to court to stop them having legal scam. If I have to go back in time I will read the reviews and don’t do this big mistake.

      They wanted to increase my rent by 40% when I refuse they told me I have 30 days to leave very unprofessional their manager Denise is very lazy doesn't communicate properly

      We did a group application. My younger brother and his wife are just starting out and have no credit. My husband and I have good credit (his is over 750 and mine is over 640) I explained the situation to one of the property people and was told that we would be ok and should be accepted as long as ONE person met the criteria. Moments later we were denied. Horrible! I took screenshots and feel very lied to and scammed. Dont apply!

      HomeRiver Group is worse property management company ever. We moved into a home on Feb. 18th. Found a water leak and black mold in one bathroom on Feb. 20th. made a report and a plumber was sent out on Feb. 25th !!!! Tore down the wall and found tons of mold...... I emailed the property manager and told him and sent pictures of the black mold. His response to me was "just because it's black doesn't mean it's BLACK MOLD"!! and he would not let us out of our lease, mind you we had only been there 1 week! I had to hire an air quality company to test the mold and the air. The results come back positive for Black mold and other molds. They finally let us out of the lease on March 10th but will only refund the security deposit and not the months rent or the $685.00 that I had to pay to prove the existence of mold which made the house unlivable.Property manger tells us not a hazard and yet on March 29th we find out that they sent out a mold remediation company to clean up the mold!!! DO NOT RENT with this company! I should have read the reviews on this site before leasing with them. We will be pursue the issue on order to get all our monies back!. If I could give them zero stars I would. BEWARE

      My credit score met the requirement. My income was suffice. Was denied because of land lord verification, which I hadnt had a lease in 8-9 years when I was in college. In fact, the complex that was supposedly contacted has been managed by 2 different groups since I left and they no longer have files on tenants when I was there. So what negative reference am I being denied on when there is no reference at all to provide? I know for a fact I left on a positive note. After providing all confidential info in the application process, I asked the representative to share what the negative reference is and she basically told me to call them myself and she doesnt have to provide anything further. She was nice and helpful to accept a $1,725 deposit and $1,725 monthly rent payment but so unhelpful when discovered she wanted nothing to do with me.

      I just moved in a property Friday. March 31st it rained the same night experience raining to find out. The property is leaking the foundation they have my money now. I'm getting the run around about when things are going to be fixed properly. It is not fair that they rented this property out to me and my family and it was not properly inspected but they got my money over six thousand dollars

      This company's service is abysmal at best. Response times to email range between 1-2 weeks. The only reason why they responded was because I issued an ultimatum in which they had to reply or a lawyer would be called. The person who responded clearly cared nothing for me, my problem, or trying to help. They give excuses as to why they don't want to help and when presented with a sound argument as to why they are wrong they ignore you resulting in another round of emails all which have been ignored. This company never actually resolved the problem. They stayed behind their excuses and unwillingness to be decent human beings. I had to go outside of the company to find resolution. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. There are plenty other REPUTABLE companies that actually care to wrap yourself up in this pathetic excuse of a rental agency.

      Homeriver Group ********** is actually the worst rental company you can deal with in Western **. They will not answer phone calls or emails (if you can even get a phone number that doesn't take you to a dead line), they will ignore all work orders, they will raise your rent without fulfilling any obligations that a landlord would normally be required to fulfill. Avoid at all costs. No rent price is worth dealing with these folks because they will increase your rent by about 15-20% annually regardless of the condition of the property or whether or not they've actually done anything you need (work orders, payment issues, etc.). Not a single person at this company cares about you, and people here are trying their best every day to keep Homeriver Group operating safely outside the letter of the law via loopholes and shady business practices.
