Sales Rep visited property early Sept 2021 , quoted price that i agreed on and paid approx 8k deposit . I was told install would be around Christmas & take 3 days to complete . Christmas came and went with no install and very little communication from company .April 27th 2022 became start date My assigned project manager was **** . He was rarely onsite and hard to get hold of as he didn't answer his phone or texts. Surely his job is to oversee the work going on at the end or start of the day ? One window was installed without the proper support under it and the inspector suggested it was removed but the installers placed cement underneath instead . You're installers should know better .3 days came and went and we were not finished. I then spent weeks and weeks looking at dirty frames , dirty windows and stickers all over the windows . The door seal was damaged at installation and I ask many times for that to be replaced but trim was just placed over it so u couldn't see all the damage . I was forced to spend $400 on professional cleaners as there was so much ************ Sealant , bag of rubble and spare parts were left in my living room for weeks. Then you finally sent a guy to do the corking . This was the worst workmanship I have ever seen . I sent picture and I believe pictures were sent to the office from another installer ? Then they send the so called expert in corking to fix and he made excuses and was not much better . It was so bad around the sliding door section I had to paint the frame as he said it would be hard not to scratch the frame to remove the corking .I could ask for the whole thing to be replaced as it's not how it should be . At the same time you send another guy who spent some of the morning sleeping in his van before finally deciding to help the other guy with re doing the corking. I repeatedly said I wanted the frames and windows cleaning inside and out . I assumed they would use a ladder for the outside but they tried hanging out the window to do it . One guy left and the other was about to leave and I said they still needed to clean one main window and he said he didn't have a ladder !? Plus the window s**** covers we're supposed to be installed at this point but still have not been . The sliding door screen cover was damaged at install too and just sits there as is unusable. Now the best part . The inspector said that the bedroom windows are the wrong height from the floor and should be replaced . I had to have stoppers put in which is inconvenient to remove just to open the windows . The sales guy and installers should surely know about this issue ? i should have them replaced but do not trust this company to do the job correctly and on time .I have lost time , days off work , had to clean up constantly and go through the threat of storms/hurricanes without secure windows. I have never had anyone from Wrights ring me up and say sorry for delays , inconvenience etc etc. Communication on status of the project has been bare minimum. And they ask me for more money ? they should be giving a discount on the job.I have been asking for final payment and I explained some of the above and said I am unwilling to pay anymore money and would like to speak to a manager or someone high up in the company but I didn't receive a call apart from someone in the payments department Then I get an email saying my project is complete and payment will be taken for final amount!? .Terrible service and **** who i was told is the guy that deals with unfinished jobs never responded to my calls or emails .I would like a final bill sent to me stating the work in done ( even though it is not ) and warranties for the windows and work done as i want closure on this and no more communication from this company .regards *****

We are sorry you are not happy with your experience.

We sent our Installation Manager to meet with this customer. We have agreed to schedule service to address the weather stripping for the entry door and adjust the sliding glass door.

This is a multi unit property and the windows provided are visibly the same as the other properties windows and were approved by the **** They are floor to ceiling venting windows and the safety device (stoppers) is required by code for any property above the first floor. This project passed final inspection on 9/7/22.

The product selected by this property owner does not have an option for s**** covers.

We do remove the stickers and wipe down the windows and frames, but our contract does not include window cleaning services.

We do take precaution for the construction mess and dust, but a thorough cleaning after project completion should be expected.

We are not asking for more money, we are simply asking for the balance due per the terms of our contract that remain unpaid since September *********************** your complaint you are unwilling to pay. I will have the final bill sent to your email as you have requested.

I am rejecting this response because:

The companies communication has been non existent till now that I have made a formal complaint.
At no point was I told I would need stoppers . Even if the *** approved the windows I was not told until the inspector pointed it out .
It only passed inspection as I agreed to stoppers and I want the job completed as it had taken soo long .
I was in my rights to say ok replace the windows so it passes but I was soo frustrated with the whole process I gave in .
Its an inconvenience to me to have to remove stoppers each time I want to open windows and will gladly take replacement windows but having such a bad experience with the workmanship prior I dont not want this company working in my property ever again to replace or repair .
      Regards

The stoppers are required by your municipality to meet the current safety codes.

It's a code issue not a window issue.

We can't replace the style of windows you have, or that the building has, without the stoppers.

I am sorry you don't like them, but it is the building code that requires them.

At no point from youre company or HOA was I made aware of this .
My real issue is the project was passed but not completed.
Then weeks with no contact , then email on 17th Oct 22 from ***************************** request balance be paid .
I email and call her and tell her its not completed and to get someone to call me .
No contact for weeks then I reach out to your company again and get told to contact **** who deals with complaints .
His email account t rejected my emails so I rang and left messages for him but not contact back . Emails and phone calls made on 20/10/22 .
Then no contact till May 2023 !? Asking for balance to be paid .
And you expect me to deal with this now .
I want nothing more to do with this .
Please call it quits and we put a stop to this long overdue problem .

******** Impact Windows and Doors was hired on 4/24/21 to install new windows and hurricane shutters on some large sliding doors. The job is not finished. The windows are in but have not been inspected. The company told ** of an installation date of July 21. Instead, it was not until months and phone calls later. Since then, its been one problem after another. The company would never use email or any other type of written communication, only phone calls. They installed an incorrect window which took 6 months to replace.I was contacted by the company so that they could get the county inspections. I said they could inspect but according to the contract the final payment would be due upon completion of the inspection, the shutters were not installed. I asked about the shutters as I had not heard anything about their installation. The companys agent gave me a run around about them. They claimed they didnt see them in the contract. I told the company that the windows could be inspected but no payment until the storm shutters were installed. This was almost a year ago.The company said they no longer do shutters. I have a copy of the contract that shows differently. We were told that the shutters now cost more and we could either pay the difference or be refunded the original costs of the shutter. We told the company we have a contract and that it is their responsibility not ours.My wife and I have been playing phone tag with the company. A few months ago a project manager came to the house. She asked about getting the inspection completed. I told her sure, but they wouldnt be paid until the job was done. She questioned the shutters. I showed her the contract and she again claimed that the company no longer installs shutters. I told her that it isnt our problem her company signed the contract and has been paid as the contract required, about $20,000 so far. The manager said she would have someone email me. Nobody did nor has she returned any calls since.

We removed shutters from our product offering a while ago to focus on our core business of impact windows and doors. We have offered a credit to the contract to this customer, but they have not accepted. We are working to source a supplier so we can complete this installation for this customer.

We are sorry for the misunderstanding and the delay. We will have it addressed as quickly as possible.

I am rejecting this response because:

If they had completed the work in a timely fashion (under 2 years) they wouldve had the shutters. Now Im going to have to pay more for a product that I shouldve had at least a year ago. ****** should pay a contractor to do the work and any loss of revenue should be on them not at my expense and time.

They can still finish the windows. They still do that right? Also maybe someone can answer a phone or email.

My reply clearly states we were sourcing a supplier to complete the project. I did not ask for any additional money.

I can't complete the finishing details of the window until we pass final inspection and I can't complete final inspection until the shutters are installed because they are on the same permit.

I am not sure what number you are calling that has been unresponsive, but we have a live receptionist that is available during business hours 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday

I first spoke to this company in August of 2022, we signed a contract by September. I was told then by the sales rep that delivery can be a bit slow and to expect maximum **** week lead time on delivery, once permitting was complete. I made a 50% deposit of over $30k(!!), signed all the proper paperwork for permit submission, but after calling a number of times, getting no response and then checking in with the county, I learned that the permit application was not even submitted until 9 weeks after they received everything from me. The permits were approved January 13 and my windows ordered January 10 (according to them) and since then I have had 3 separate project coordinators, not a single of which had ever reached out to me directly to give me any update on my project. Every time I call Im told Ill receive a call back but never do. It has now been 18 weeks since they made the order, 37 weeks since I signed a contract and am being told it will be another 8-9 weeks minimum before they can receive my windows from the *************. The complete lack of communication and gross over estimation on timing is totally unacceptable. We are now entering hurricane season and I still do not have my windows and doors, and installation in the best case scenario is planned for the middle of summer. We have been unable to start any other projects until this is complete and have had to delay many other plans as a result, I have to get installation complete before June 15th or I wont even be available to be present for install until September! This has been the single worst experience I have ever had with any contractor/installer/manufacturer. I hope that they are able rectify what has been a totally unprofessional job and deliver what was agreed upon ASAP.

      Business Response

      Date: 05/19/2023

Our contracts are very clear with regard to lead times. While they have improved in general, there are still products that have been delayed. We give the best information at the time we have it, and most times it does change. These are custom made products that require a high number of component parts, and the delays are many times caused by different items.

The Keys is a unique place to provide our services as there are many non-conforming structures rendering it necessary to get an approved permit prior to placing the order for the material. Since our products are custom made they are not cancellable with our manufacturers once the order is released to production. For this project there was also engineering required, those services are provided by a third party firm. This further delayed our ability to file the permit application. We placed the material order the day after we received permit approval.

We are sorry for the delays and poor communication. Staff turnover is disruptive and leaves a negative impression with customers. I am sorry.

The products are on 2 separate containers. One container is scheduled to be delivered to our warehouse on 6/2/23 and the other on 6/9/23. Understand these dates can change slightly, but that's  Once the order is received we can schedule the installation without further delay.

My windows failed inspection in March 2023 and little to no attempt has been made to come out and fix them. ( they don't lock, screws are caulked and loose with papertowelson them).I don't feel safe with windows that can't lock and one doesn't open. They were installed November 21, 2022 and still not fixed. The company attempted to send out the same man who was: not professionally dressed, smoked, installed the windows wrong, went through my desk, yelled at me when I asked if the windows were the 3 pane because they looked too thin to me. Yes I filed a complaint with the company that day, and they have the nerve to send him back out?? So now their response is to send no one.The county said Wrights hasn't responded to them either.

We do apologize for sending a service representative that you had a bad experience with back to your home. There was no request noted in the system not to send him back. I have spoken to the Area Project Manager and ask that he handle this for you personally.

We will make sure the outstanding service issues are taken care of for you as quickly as possible. Once completed we can reschedule the final inspection.

But would like to note, I told the manager in November he wasn't welcome and the person who came out to take pictures. Not even sure why that person is still employed with them.  I was very vocal about not bringing back the original installer and have their text to me acknowledging that.  April 14th.

The original installer was unprofessional, and clearly didn't do his job ( almost all of the windows failed inspection) and one broke while installing.  A different person came back for the broken window who WAS professional, wore business logo , polite and did a great job ,as well as looked at the sloppy mess left behind from the original installer and fixed it.

I will be satisfied when the windows pass inspection and the windows are left in clean ************.

The 2 entry doors and one slider door were installed in March 2023. It took them a year to install. Which I understood is a usual time frame. What I object to was their total lack of communication. Unfortunately total payment of $12,158.59 was made. The installation was not complete until inspection, which they failed. It was inspected again, and they were to return to complete the work on the doors. The work was sloppy and incomplete(per inspector). No word from them, the rails are still here to be installed.

I hired ******** windows to engineer fabricate and install a patio door and a small bathroom window on 4/2022. Installation began October 24th 2022 and inspection was November 21st 2022. Inspection failed due to "safety hazard". The frame on the patio door includes a 2-in riser that is sitting above the floor which causes a tripping hazard coming in or exiting. No one called from ******** windows until the finance company called me. I explained to them the job had not been finished and permit inspection had failed they offered to represent me through their complaint department to resolve the issue. ******** windows finally called February *************************************************************************************************************************************** the issues of the 2-in riser and advised project supervisor would call me. We are currently in March and I have not heard anything to date. The finance company went ahead and paid ******** windows $9500.00 and I am currently making payments on a job that is not completed. The permit has expired and is still showing on my residence. ******** windows needs to come and finish the job and get the inspection completed. I would not recommend nor give a good review for ******** windows and doors at this time as they have not acted responsibly or professionally.

      Business Response

I have personally reached out to this customer today. We will immediately schedule service for the screen and review the installation in preparation for another final inspection. Wrights does not engineer and fabricate. We provide sales and installation services.

I also spoke with the municipal inspector and his reason for failure is following:

1/22/22 AM- FINAL FAILED. BD NOTES: Customer is dissatisfied and concerned with sliding glass door installed. Inside bottom lip is 2.5 above floor level thus creating a dangerous tripping hazard. Screen does not properly seal on side and top weather stripping is falling out.

The sill riser detail was part of the permit approval and the screen is not required for final inspection.

The inspector has requested that we re-call the final inspection. The permit is not in expired status and is good until June 2023.

This is an impact sliding glass door and does have a sill riser. At 2.5" it is lower than most manufacturers, but necessary in order to receive the impact rating. Simply put, it is part of the design of the product. It has not been deemed a safety hazard by any industry authority and meets all current required building codes. I understand the customers concern, but it is unavoidable.

I am hopeful this customer now has a better understanding of impact products and we can come to an amicable solution.

I am rejecting this response because:
In preparation for the installation of the sliding glass door an opening had to be created to accommodate the sliding door. ******** "engineer" man came to the house to measure for the opening for the sliding door. I consider that to be engineering. The installation crew had to create the opening, which I considered to be fabricating. I was never advised of a two and a half inch riser that would sit above floor level and was never given options. I believe the installation was incorrect with installing the sliding door level with my floor creating a tripping hazard with a two and a half inch riser sitting above it. You trip exiting and entering. This has been going on for way too long without proper communication and professionalism by ******** impact windows and doors. Unfortunately disbursement of funds for the project has been made to ******** without the project being complete and permit not closed and I am left paying for an unfinished project. I am excited and looking forward to getting this resolved, hopefully we can come to an agreement soon.

I spoke with this customer this morning. There is no substitute for the sill riser. That is how the product is made. It must be installed per the installation instructions, per the Notice of Acceptance and meet building codes.

We contact them in April of 2022, May 2nd of 2022 I paid 50% of the door price and signed the contract, in august they came to install the door, that day they realized that they measured the door wrong and had to re order the door, since then it has being a nightmare, we need to call several times to hear from someone, they gave us an ETA for January 20th on the end of January we called and they gave us an ETA for February 17th and once again nothing. No one has contact us, we dont know. 10 months has passed and we have no idea if the door has even being ordered since they cant meet any of their ETAs. I understand those are estimated times, but the lack of communication and follow up has being overwhelming. I paid $3000 for the 50% of the door cost almost a year ago and still have an old front door. I just want my front door to be replaced and them to be respectful with their clients, that paid and havent received the product.

I ordered impact window s from ****** ************************************************ on July 3rd. Was told the windows would be installed in 4 months. I called 5 months later and my customer service contact ***************************** was gone and *** was my new customer service contact. To date, since December 2022 I have not heard from *******When I call the person who answers tells me 1) I will get a call & 2) Delay is there was an uptick in orders in June 2022 before I ordered my windows.I find that hard to believe since Governor ******** gave a tax exemption starting July, 2023.I am now selling my home and still have no clue when the windows will be installed. The company took a 50% deposit, over $6,000, and I cannot get a return phone call or any answers.

I am rejecting this response because:

      1) They told me my windows were in on 3.22.2024

      2) My friends ordered their windows at my recommendation to use ****** Windows at the end of September and had them installed in a few months

      3) They delayed the sale of my home and have been non- responsive

      4) What they wrote you was smoke

      Sincerely,

We do not promise delivery. Especially with custom products during times of supply chain disruption.

The current ETA is 3/29/23 to port. It will take a few days to have it delivered to our warehouse then we can schedule installation. I have requested priority scheduling so once we have the products there will not be any further delay for installation.

We are sorry for the delays and thank you for your continued patience.
