      They recently bought out the storage facility I rent and they overcharged $25.50 and now claim they can't see previous activity on the account so they refuse to refund money. This was an overcharge for insurance through them that they charged when I have renters insurance thru ******************. So pay attention to your bills so you don't get overcharged!

      We are sorry that this removal of the fee took longer than it should have.  I partnered with the Property Manager and they provided me with notes that show that the $25.50 was returned to you on January 18, ****. We know that you visited the property and was uncertain of this refund.  We are hoping that since this review, that you now see it on your banking or credit card statement.  Please let us know if this is not the case.

      I wish i could give a 0 star. Do NOT rent from Storage Rentals of America. A family member had a unit and it was recently broken into, a police report was filed and this is currently an active investigation.

      Good day and we are well aware of this situation, as the family has been reaching out to use with negative reviews on multiple platforms.  We are sorry that this occurred and are following up with the actual tenant that had this experience.  We hope to start an investigation and follow up with the customer.  We will determine if the customer had our Tenant Protection Plan and/or needs to file a report for their own insurance.

      If I could give 0 stars I would. I had a unit at this location prior to them taking it over when it was owned by cubesmart. It was a place for me to store my deceased ************** until I had a house. Cubesmart sold it to SROA. I hardly ever went there because it was to hold my furniture till I was ready. Fast forward to September 2023, I went to my unit to measure some stuff cause I was getting ready to move and clear out the unit when I noticed a leak in the ceiling and major water damage to my hutch that is over 34 years old. I went to the office and filed a claim with the manager who had the huilding handyman come look at it. The handyman was also her husband... how convienant. He proceeded to tell me how ugly my mom's hutch was and that they had better ones they could just give me. I declined and filed my claim. Up until the day I moved out the leak was still there. I moved out October 9th. It took the company until January 19th to settle the claim and reimburse me for the damages. The manager failed to submit documents on time and they closed out my claim once so I had to reopen it. I have a handful if rude emails from the company telling me it was my fault. Take your business elsewhere folks.

      The Property Manager shared that they were only conversing about the replacement hutch and was not meant to be a replacement. We would never discount the value or sentimental value or ******************.  

      The leak that she mentioned was rectified within 3 weeks and prior to her alerting our property of the issue. It appears that there was an issue prior to SROA taking over the property, as ****************** unit had plastic draped on the ceiling and over some other items.

      The claim has been paid out and we are sorry again for the issue.  We consider this matter closed.

      Rented for years from Five star Storage never had an issue. Many, many, many issues after SROA took over. The list goes on and on but the biggies is I was robbed and they took no responsibility even though their cameras and gate didn't work. Upgrades after the fact do not fix that I was robbed. Then they refuse to pay the insurance claim because my lock was picked and not forced entry. So because the thief was smart I get screwed. However, if the gate and cameras worked maybe the deadbeat that robbed me would have been caught? False adverting that they provide security. Shame on the lack of morals this terrible company has! Just to list a few more issues... Lighting *****. Driveway *****, website to pay ***** then you are late with rent and they lock you out and charge late fees.

      We are so sorry to read your review and apologize for any inconvenience.  We have partnered with the property leadership team who shared the following. 

      Unfortunately the claim was denied by our organization as there was no police report accompanying the claim.  It appears that the police spent ample time investigating and no conclusions were determined leading to no report to be filed.  

      I realize that there were many issues that you faced with the previous owners and we are working to fix all of the problems so we can provide you with the best storage available in the area. There are late fees and overlocks applied to the unit if payment is not received within 6 days from payment date.  This is industry standard and we are sorry that you incurred them.  We hope that you will continue to give us the opportunity to fix the issues that came with purchasing the property and hopefully turn this review into a 5 star review.

      Have been renting from Storage Rentals of America ever since they took over Five Star Storage. Have had problems ever since. Every 2 month rate increase for no apparent benefit - no upgrade of property - in fact getting worse. Today I called for their rates and was quoted at ****** for a 10 X 20 while my rate just increased to ******. Is this a legal practice? You would think the rates for someone who has been a loyal customer for years would get a better rate than someone new. Can't wait to move out! .

      Previous owners were good - SROA took over and it has been continual rate increases on a very frequent basis. I agree completely with ***** O - no visible improvement and also wondering how such a multitude of rate increases can be justified.

      For tenants, this could be a nominal increase and often only occurs with approximately 10% of our tenant base.Unfortunately at this time, it was determined that your location and specific unit required an area adjustment.

      First I like to say I haven't had a problem since I been at this location I'm just trying to get an understanding about the fees. The name has changed since I have been here and the fees when I first signed on for storage was $97.00 (roughly). Since the changing of hands every three months we get an increase for our lease I'm now at $200.00 and I just received another increase for December to $220.00. How many increase can this company ask for in a year? I understand things has changed but all year there must be an increase and I don't see any improvements going on that would account for all year increases. I'm just wondering! Thanks

      SROA is a wonderful company to rent for, the office gals ****** and ***** were great answering all of my questions and getting into a unit was super quick and easy. You're able to do this in person or over the phone which is super convenient . My unit was very clean, and had locks inside the unit. Even got a free month and a pro-rated price for the remainder of the month. I highly recommend renting with SROA for all of your storage or parking needs!

      To whom this may concern. My name is ***** *. I had a storage unit with your company since September 2021. I started out with two and eventually went down to one. Near the end of my rentals I had run over 30 days past due twice the last few months I had my unit. Spending approximately $8000 during my rental time with storage rentals of America. Like I was saying the last few months I was getting behind and ended up paying late fees and an auction fee of $100 twice. The first time was when I was 30 days past due. I got it paid up within the week following my correspondence that a $100 auction fee was being added to my account and would be auctioned off if not caught up. Well I did get it all paid and again the next month I was late and I went in-on the 11th of this month to pay up and empty my unit. I then found out I was charged yet another auction fee, & I had to pay a full month even though I was emptying that day. I feel storage rentals of America is a rip off. Why you say, paying a second auction fee is stupid since one had been made the previous month. (You can’t auction off the same stuff twice) so why charge it twice? Rent not being prorated when you empty a unit is ripping your customers off. Because if the get it out early in the month, I’m sure the next few days it will be rented out again this then getting paid for the same unit twice(double charging). I can’t imagine that it is legal or ethical. The lady would only say “ yeah you have to pay the full month on your last month even if you get it out earlier than the date I was getting mine out. We don’t prorate the ending of contracts only the beginning. I know it seems wrong, but that is how they do it.” Very poor customer service and very bad ethical practices. Especially since I have paid over $8000 for the units I have rented over the last 2 years. Horrible customer service and horrible way of doing business

      My husband has had a storage unit for around 10 years at a local rental facility which I have paid using automatic withdraw from a checking account. I went to the storage facility & found our entrance code did not work. I called the number on the fence & was told the entire facility had been sold to Storage Rentals of America on July 1 and our unit was up for auction in two weeks for non-payment. She told me to go to the local office to clear it up. We went to the office & paid July, August, ******************** rent plus a $20.00 late fee & a $100.00 auction fee. We paid her these charges to have access to the unit. We were upset as we are retired & on fixed incomes, so I called X** back. I asked if they ever notified us by a certified letter or a return receipt slip so they could confirm we were made aware of this new ownership & that my payments were not automatically being made. She said no, they sent out a copy of Ownership Notice & a Lien Notification. She said they also tried calling numerous times to an old work number that the old company had given them, to which she said it was disconnected. I asked, "If they are legally allowed to steal our stuff & sell it without confirmation that we were notified about any of this?" Her reply was we tried to call you & did send a letter. I said, But you never had any knowledge that we received any notices as you didn't get a reply from us or have any written confirmation that we had received any notice. She asked what would resolve this issue, I told her to refund the late **************** charge, $120.00 in total. She said that was against company ************ could not do that. I told her that seems like an unbelievably bad business practice when you are taking over an established business & a good way to lose customers who have had the same unit for 10 years. We will never do business with your company again & tell everyone we know not to use your facilities also. We have vacated the unit.
