      After several months of not following through with the agreed upon trash and recycling service. We canceled our account and were told that we would be refined the remainder of our quarterly bill. The refunded amount is almost $100. After multiple calls to the business and many promises to issue a refund, I am notifying the BBB of the shady business practices of American Disposal.

      Again, I am waiting for several days for my trash to be picked up. Trash is overflowing into the street causing a health hazard. I have canceled my American Disposal account, but the customer service rep seemed unconcerned about the trash piling up and said it should be picked up some time before the cans are collected on OCTOBER 12th.

      I am disappointed about the quality of trash removal services provided by American Disposal Services. I contracted for weekly pickup of trash. They failed to perform the services and to reimburse me for those pickup failures. Earlier this year, A DS failed to pick up house trash two times. When I called, I was told that supervisors would engage to help solve the problem. In reality, the trash sat on the curb for a week in both instances (and several other times were picked up late by one to three days unrelated to holidays). This means that food waste and disposable diapers sat on the curb in the heat for an extended period of time. Finally, they failed to pick up the trash in September and I fired them. Yard waste pickup has been even more unreliable with cans and bags of organic waste sitting out during and after a rain for several days or the entire week. As importantly, their remedy for failing to perform their contracted weekly pickup (per their customer service rep after the first two failures) was to reimburse me for that failure . However, they did not reimburse me on my final bill despite my request and calls. I continue to pursue reimbursement - they continue to say they will research the issue and then never respond to me. This company is not meeting its obligations to myself or the larger community. For my purposes, I would like the above reimbursement which is valued at approximately $25.40.

      We cancelled our American Disposal services a little over month ago (July 31st 2022) and since then this company has not picked up their trash container (two) from our property. They have scheduled and rescheduled of these containers three to five times. They have outsourced it to another company and they have poor communications. These containers, even though empty, are now a health hazard for our family and our community. Our fear is that the *** will fine us. We keep putting the containers out for pickup and no one shows up. It's been a month now. They take no responsibility for it and making us go through multiple cycles of putting containers out only to bring them back in. We want them to pick them up else we'll have to file report with ************

      In April American Disposal Services of ******* stopped picking up my trash. My bill was current with nothing due. When I called them they said that they didnt know why the driver wasnt picking up my trash. They told me to stand at the end of my driveway on pick up day to ask the driver what the problem was. I am unable to do that because of my job. I told them that and they said they couldnt help me. So I canceled my services with them. I cancelled via email, phone call and written letter. They owed me a balance and I have two of their cans they need to pick up. They continue to bill me and are adding on fees. Each time I receive a bill I email and call to tell them I cancelled. They refuse to cancel My account. I dont know how to make them cancel my account and stop billing me.

      I cancelled service with American disposal service early June because for 2022 they were not picking up my recycling and trash consistently. I received emails weekly of sorry we are behind on service and sorry we wont be able to pick up this week. After 6 weeks of no recycling pickup and 2 weeks of not trash pick up, I got fed up and cancelled. I was told by the representative that I was to receive a $30 credit for the services I never received. Not only have I not received my credit, American disposal continues to charge me and tell me that I owe them for services I did not receive. I dont even care about the credit anymore. I just want them to stop trying to charge me for services I did not receive. They are saying they dont have records of my complaints but that is also because I tried to call weekly to complain about them not picking up my trash and recycling and the answering service would say we are too busy to answer and hang up!

      I have used American Disposal at my current residence since August 2021. Since the beginning of 2022, I have experienced repeated instances where our recycling and/or trash was not picked up at all, and when I call to complain and request credit on my bill for the missed pickup, I'm told that my house would be serviced within the next 48 hours to address the missed pickup, which never happens. I live on a busy street and my trash cans say "American Disposal." There is no reason for my street to be consistently missed. Recycling is supposed to be picked up on a biweekly cadence. Since 2022, out of 18 possible recycling pickups, American missed recycling pickups at least on 1/4, 2/1, 3/1, 5/24, 6/28, 8/16, and 8/30. There was one missed in April, but I don't have the exact date. The only month that hasn't missed a pickup is July. And every quarterly bill I receive never captures every missed pickup credit, and it's only listed as a $3 credit instead of $5 per recycling pickup, so I have to call and have them fix my bill. When I've called about the missed recycling the last couple weeks, I'm told that a service request alert has been put on our house so that it's not missed the following pickup. Clearly this means nothing, because our house continues to be skipped. I see their trucks drive by every Monday, but the last few weeks I haven't even seen one.Additionally, out of nowhere, American has also stopped picking up our trash. Trash is supposed to be picked up weekly. Our trash has not been picked up since 8/23. I've called about this twice, and both times I'm told that a service request has been submitted and my trash should be picked up in 48 hours. This has never happened. I currently have 3 weeks of trash and 6 weeks of recycling on my curb and in my house. It's absolutely disgusting.I've attached invoices for reference. These invoices don't reflect the changes in amounts due after I call to have them apply the refunds they missed on the invoice.

      I cancelled service at the beginning of June and have called over 20x to get my refund from an overpayment that I made. Every time I call, they say the same thing. They've sent an email to the billing department to escalate my request. I have tried to speak to a supervisor and they again keep telling me they have submitted a request for a manager call-back. No one has ever called and I still have not received my $454.65 refund after almost 3 months since my service was cancelled

      My community voted in 2022 to switch from private trash disposal (American Disposal Services) to Fairfax County waste removal. I canceled my services with American Disposal Services on June 3, 2022 and was told I would receive a refund for the remaining prepaid amount ($31.41). I have never received the refund and have called American Disposal Services to inquire about the refund on 7/12/22, 8/5/22, 8/12/22, and 9/1/22 and each time am told the refund has been sent to their accounting department and will be credited to my credit card on file. The refund has never come through and the company doesn't seem to be able to follow through on their promise to refund the money for the services that were canceled as they repeatedly tell me the refund is coming. I feel sufficient time has passed if, in fact, they actually have run the paperwork to issue the refund.

      3 months I called American Disposal service customer service number listed on the their website to cancelled my service due to the high price they charged me quarterly. I spoke with one of their representative over the phone, my name, phone number, address provided and also a reason of this cancellation also provided, the representative told me that my account is closed, and he will send someone to pick up the 90-gallon trash can one week after. On the stated date no one show up to pick up the trash can, so I called again, another representative told me that she will find someone to pick it up. There was no one come to pick it up again. Until this morning, I received a final notice letter from American Disposal service attempt to collecting the overdue payment, I realized that something is not right. So I called them once again, and their customer service representative told me that my account was never been cancelled, and I am owing them over $100. This is just unethical business practice. They trained their representatives give their customers a false impression that their account is closed, but keep it open. Another unethical practice is that, after a week I called to cancel my account, their truck driver already stop coming around my house, so that means they already knew I cancel my service then. Now they are trying to collect a quarter of service charge, in which they never provided me any service. That is robbing and unethical business practice.
