Thank you for notifying us of ********************' complaint. We appreciate this opportunity to respond.
The company operates in strict compliance with state and federal laws and has committed no wrongdoing. The terms, conditions, and cost of ********************' loan was fully explained to her by the company's personally and clearly disclosed in her loan documents in compliance with the Federal Truth and Lending Act. Based on the monthly income and expense information that ******************** disclosed on her application, the loan's scheduled payment was within her ability to repay. At no time did ******************** ever indicate that she did not understand the terms of her loan. A review of ********************' account reveals that she did not pay her loan off in full when due and instead elected to submit the minimum amounts needed to renew the contract for additional 30 day periods. Moreover, ******************** did not always submit the payments to renew her contract in a timely manner.
Notwithstanding the above, the company always tries to work with customer as opposed to repossessing a vehicle. Therefore, the company has agreed to settle ********************' account for a reduced amount. If ******************** would like to take advantage of this offer, she should call the LoanMax office where she obtained her loan at ************, by April 12, 2023.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

I am diabetic and had my right big toe removed and loss sight in my right eye. This caused financial challenges for my family and me. I took out a loan for $1200 around August of 2021. I was informed this month (March 2023) that I owe $1400. The company said they would settle for $1400 which is more than I borrowed. I am sure that I have paid the amount borrowed plus interest, however I still owe $1400. I have been paying and only missed a few payments. This is so unfair! Please help!Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I have been making payments. Loanmax stated that I haven't paid since June 2022. That is untrue. I made a payment of $234 in February 2023. I have also been communicating with the company. I am asking for Loanmax to settle for $350. I can bring it tomorrow 4/6/23. Please let me know if this is possible. I really would like to have this account settled and paid in full. Thanks for responding.

March 3, 2022, or a day of two after I took out a loan for $2700.00. 25 days later I had to have an operation and I ended up on life support for 28 days. I had a tracheotomy for 2 1/2 months after and I could not talk. When I finally had the tube removed and I could talk I called the office and explained why I had not been in contact. I was called a liar and was talked down to like a piece of trash. I paid $2200.00 of the loan 2 days later. I was in the hospital for 6 months and was deemed disabled. I called and reported this to the office and again was called a liar and offered proof of what I had been through. I have called the corporate office several times to speak to an area manager to try and work out where I can pay the remainder of $2700.00 considering my situation. To date I have not received a call back. Im not sure why the corporate office tells me they dont handle issues with the title loans. I suffer from brain damage and paralysis on the right lower part of my body. Im on disability and cannot afford to pay the $4926 balance due to the minutes budget and needing my insurance and a roof over my head. Im scared to death Im going to be at a doctor *********** and Im going to come out and my car will be gone. I have no family and no way to get to my ***********s if they take my car. Considering what has happened to me, I pray that they are willing to help me. I have consulted an attorney and I realize there is no way to work around the contract. Since I did contact and pay when I could talk and was insulted and made to cry by being called a liar I would hope they would work with me. The behavior all the way around, from the store to the area manager is unacceptable.Business Response

So my husband lost his job and we were not able to pay the loan back. We spoke to them several times which they told us the would hold the truck for so long.. Before that time would come they sold it in August 22, 2022. We just got a letter regarding this on 10/21/2022. It has been 12 weeks since it has been sold and when we called to see about the payment (because it was sold for almost $6*** more what we borrowed) we are just getting the run around. Nobody can help and right now we are in need of this money that is owed to us. We have called and called and today when we called they told us that the check has no even been cut. I am sorry but the sell was in *****, I borrowed the money in ***** so i should be able to deal with someone from here in *****... Instead i am dealing with someone from GA that doesn't know anything or cant even help... Wellshire is holding on to money owed to me and i consider that theft... I also dealt with someone from the accounting department and they were so rude and gave attitude and when i got nasty she was like don't need to get nasty but it is ok for you to get attitude and disrespect us.. She continued to say my husband was a liar and that he never called and dealt with her when i was in that call and they just keep giving you a bunch of Bull****!!!!!Business Response

They stated the check was sent out and gave me tracking numberwhen i went to enter the number that they gave me it was wrong. I called back and they stated that it was wrong on their end as well and they were going to look into it
because when it is entered it should be correct and for someone to do that was not good. I felt that it is another excuse and that they have not sent the check out. So until i get

I had a loan max title loan in June of 2021. I failed to make payments and had my vehicle repossessed in May of 2022. My vehicle was auctioned and sold for approximately $13,500 more than what I owed to Loan max. I was sent a letter to call their 800 number to claim my overage payment. I was told I had to wait 120 days for my check. Ridiculous but I had no choice. As of today I have waited MORE than 120 days and can not get a straight answer from loan max as to when I will receive my money. THEY received theirs, auction got theirs, tow company, impound lot etc have all been paid as I have contacted them all. I assume 120 days is punishment for inconveniencing loan max but after waiting patiently I now call twice a week and get the same response. I cant tell you when you will be paid, all I know is a payment has not been approved or released. I have letters stating the amount I would receive and the date that marked 120 days. I am contacting an attorney next.Business Response

On 9/28/22 I opened a loan for $850.00, Loan star was running a promotion for $500.00 off interest if paid off within the first month. I made two payments on 10/14/22, one for $650.00 and another for $100.00. On 10/27/22 I called in to Make my final payment of $100.00. I was then told that my total would be $214.52, And if I want to lower that payment to $110.00, I will need to refinance the loan. I should not have to refinance a loan with only $100.00 left on it. Long story short, they did not honor their own promotion and charged me interest. I paid the loan off within the month there should not be any interest. I have a copy of the check and all my receipts, which shows a much higher principle balance than what I borrowed. I currently have a loan open. I borrowed $1400.00. right your wrong and deduct $114.52 from that principle balance. I have tried to speak with the reps in the store and they refused to correct this. If I cannot get this resolved my next complaint will go to the **** IDK about you, but I don't think $114.52 is worth an FTC investigation.Business Response
