Ive been in communications with (TransUnion, Equifax or Experian) about inaccurate personal information on my credit report. Even after notifying them many times about this error they still continue to report this incorrect account information on my file. Not only is it unfair, its also illegal. 15 U.S. Code 1681c2 - Block of information resulting from identity theft Block Except as otherwise provided in this section, a consumer reporting agency shall block the reporting of any information in the file of a consumer that the consumer identifies as information that resulted from alleged identity theft, not later than 4 business days after the date of receipt by such agency of (1)appropriate proof of the identity of the consumer; (2)a copy of an identity theft report; (3)the identification of such information by the consumer; and (4)a statement by the consumer that the information is not information relating to any transaction by the consumer. I have sent various complaints to Transunion, ********************************** and out of all three companies, one company is refusing to place a security block or freeze on my credit profile due to identity theft. Equifax has not only disregarded my concern and valid proof that I have been a victim of identity theft they also are in basic consumer violations. I requested my name to be updated and accounts removed, and a security freeze to be placed on my profile they have ignored all my requests. Again I ask you Better Business Bureau swiftly act on my behalf as I will attach different proof that progress is not being made with these reporting credit agencies, which are violating my rights. I ask that all these accounts are DELETE off my credit report. Thank youCustomer Answer

Equifax is a repository of credit information which has been supplied by creditors, collection agencies and public record holders. As such, we do not collect or maintain copies of contracts between consumers and their creditors. Not all companies choose to report account information to Equifax. Those that do report on a regular basis appear on your credit report. However, through our investigation process, we are able to contact the furnishers of the information and either confirm or correct the data reporting on your file. Once a request for verification of a disputed item(s) has been received by Equifax, each data furnisher will be contacted directly by Equifax. This process is usually accomplished by sending the request for verification electronically and may take 30 days to complete. Once the data furnisher's response is returned to Equifax, any updates related to the disputed item(s) will be recorded on the credit report. Once all Data furnishers have responded to our request for their review, the consumer is sent a copy of each of the Data Furnishers responses they provided to Equifax. Should you still disagree with the Data Furnishers response, please contact each creditor directly for additional assistance and/or regarding any signed documentation pertaining to the disputed item(s).
If they have any additional questions, they may call ************** or they may visit www.myequifax.com. I am rejecting this response because: Equifax is disregarding the law. They are responsible for doing their own investigation of the subject information and not just parrot a response from the furnishers. Since they cannot provide documentation to validate these inaccurate items, they must delete all of them.

It is deeply concerning that my request, submitted solely by myself, *****************************, has sparked suspicion of a third party involvement.
However, what is even more alarming is the lack of concern regarding the actions of Equifax, Experian, and Transunion, who have consistently failed to address the numerous errors on my consumer file. This has had a significant impact on my financial well-being, and despite numerous attempts to resolve the matter, I have been met with constant barriers despite the laws and regulations outlined under 15 U.S. Code Subchapter III.
Therefore, I have taken the necessary steps, including but not limited to, submitting separate complaints with the BBB for all three consumer reporting agencies, of which I'm expecting a prompt resolution to this matter.
If this does not fully address your concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email.

They have my full address/mailing address on file. However, when they sent me a letter, they didn't include the full address. The left put the Floor #/Unit #. Because of this, the letter they sent me arrived a month late. I'm lucky it even arrived at all I called them so that they can add "ATTN: FL2 #****", but they refused to. Then I asked if they could escalate this issue to their IT or something to see why their system was not using the mailing address that they had. I spoke to a regular representative and then a supervisor, and both went in the same circle. They first said it was a problem with the delivery on my end, and that it should have been delivered without the info included.... which is nonsense (building has hundreds of units). Then they said they had the full mailing address and so it must have been sent with the full mailing address.... but it wasnt. Then they just flat refused to add the attention line or do some kind of escalation. And kept blaming me for not getting it without the floor and unit number, for a buikding that has hundreds of units I need an attention line added to my address, or I need my address FIXED so that it actually mails to the mailing address that they have on file!!Also please confirm that either all of my phone numbers have been removed OR youve added my current phone number ending in **** to the credit report (not as a note, but to the actual report where the other phone numbers are listed)Business Response

Why choose a BBB Accredited Business?BBB Business Profiles may not be reproduced for sales or promotional purposes.
BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
