Hello, my name is ***********************. When I had recently pulled my credit report up, I noticed there was a bankruptcy showing up on my report. I contacted both ***** Nexis and the bankruptcy court that the bankruptcy is connected to, and they both stated that they do not report to credit bureaus. According to 15 US code 1681a(4) Every consumer has a right to privacy and the bankruptcy reporting is in direct violation of my privacy. This has had an unfortunate impact on my life and affecting me personally in trying to purchase a home, acquire credit, and receive employment. Also, under 15 US code 1681e(b) and 15 US code 1681i(5) this account is in violation in not reporting 100% accurate because it lists the bankruptcy as the furnisher. This is misleading and forgery as I have a letter from the bankruptcy court that says they do not report this type of account. I am urging you to remove this bankruptcy immediately from my credit report so I can provide for my family and improve the quality of life for me and my family. Thank you for your help.Business Response

I have a current mortgage account that is showing closed / transferred to another Lender on my Equifax credit report. I've contacted the Lender to report the information to Equifax as an Open account and the lender has done that. The mortgage account is reporting correctly on Experian and Transunion. Equifax still has not updated the information to report correctly on my credit reported. I've disputed the account, and that does not fix the problem. The Mortgage account name is NATIONSTAR Mortgage ****************. That account should be showing OPEN. The account was never transferred or sold.Business Response

* In reference to your concern regarding the investigation process: Upon receipt of your dispute, we first review and consider any relevant information you submitted regarding the nature of your dispute. Often, Equifax will then transmit your dispute to the furnisher of the information (ie. the bank associated with a disputed credit card) for review and investigation. Equifax electronically sends a notification of your dispute, including a summary of the relevant information submitted, to the respective furnisher. The furnisher reviews the information provided, conducts an investigation with respect to the disputed information and reports the results back to us electronically. Equifax then makes deletions or changes to your credit file. The name, address and, if reasonably available, the telephone number of the furnisher(s)/source(s) of the information contacted while processing your dispute(s) is shown under the 'Results of your investigation' section on the cover letter that accompanies the copy of your revised credit file.

On 10/11/22 I reviewed my Equifax credit report & noticed quite a few inaccuracies. I contacted the company & disputed this information, requesting a reinvestigation via certified letter on 11/15/22. On 11/04/22 I received my results re: ******* Wireless Account# **************, stating that the account's reporting was 100% accurate & complete. This is not the case, which is why I just submitted a complaint requesting that the **** reinvestigate on 11/13/22. I also requested a description of the reinvestigation that Equifax conducted under 15 USC 1681i(7). Equifax is continuing to report a large amount of inaccurate & incomplete information on my report. This is the complete list of inaccuracies on just this one account post-reinvestigation: *Account Status *Date of Last Activity *Date of First Delinquency *Payment History *Date Closed *Date of Last Payment *Delinquency First Reported. I am fully aware of all my rights under the ***** In continuing to report incomplete & inaccurate info, Experian is violating my rights as protected by the US Congress 15 U.S. Code 1681s2 specifically 15 U.S. Code 1681s2(b)(1)(E) ) if an item of information disputed by a consumer is found to be inaccurate or incomplete or cannot be verified after any reinvestigation under paragraph (1), for purposes of reporting to a consumer reporting agency only, as appropriate, based on the results of the reinvestigation promptly (i) modify that item of information; (ii) delete that item of information; or (iii) permanently block the reporting of that item of information. I am formally demanding that Equifax immediately delete this account and its incomplete and inaccurate reporting from my credit report per US Federal law.Business Response

Equifax added a fraudulent address to my credit report that had already been reported and removed for fraud. Equifax is also using this fraudulent address to keep fraudulent accounts on my credit report.Adding information to my credit that has already been removed for fraud is both negligent and fraudulent on Equifaxs behalf. Equifax stated my account was properly investigated. How is that possible if the open date is incorrect, the date last active is incorrect, the date last reported, and other data is not accurate? Ive given applicable chances for Equifax to investigate these accounts. Failure to investigate thoroughly and prove these accounts as accurate require DELETIONS OF ACCOUNTS IN QUESTION. When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
