A new & unknown account seems to have installed itself on my business & personal laptop. I received a PayPal notice this morning saying that I (or my account) sent a payment of $49.46 USD to NeighborWho. I did not send this payment but I can not get around using the account that is currently installed on my laptop, I need more help than BBB, but for now (because I'm going to be late for work if I type longer) I need to register this complaint. I did not 'join' NeighborWho, and PayPal does not give me the possibility to refuse the payment. I shall return to the PayPal site later today and follow their complaint process. We do apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.
We were able to locate your account with identifying factors such as your full name, billing zip code, and telephone number. Upon further investigation it looks like that account was created on 08/24/2022 with our 7 day $1.00 trial.When signing up for our services the terms and conditions in addition to the privacy policy are required to be agreed to prior to signing up. Each customer must agree to these terms before successfully creating the account.
This way our customers are fully aware of the charges including the date to cancel the trial.Our subscriptions are not based on usage; they are recurring subscriptions that will continue to renew until a customer cancels as stated in the agreed terms.
Our records do not indicate a previous request to cancel the account before the trial ended, in this event the account continued to renew.I am happy to report I was able to cancel your account and issue you a refund for the $98.92 subscription fee. September 24, 2022. Business: Neighborhood Who. Charged my **** account with $44.86, not authorized by me. I likely used free or $1.00 access for one search and was then charged a payment for further use. I do not wish to continue this account and did not authorize payment. I will not use such "free" offers again since they automatically then bill you for a monthly or annual fee not wanted.Business Response

We did not receive a request to cancel, so your account continued to renew each month.

I purchased a 7 day free trial for $1 two days ago. I have since decided to cancel. I have tried numerous times to cancel by calling the number provided for cancellation only to have the calls ended with no results! When trying to cancel via the e-mail address given I was transferred to a site called CancelHero and would be charged $37 dollars using a credit card if I followed through with that. I want this 7 day free trial ended. Very unscrupulous business practices associated with this site! I will warn others not to click on it. I was not checking on my neighbours. The question I googled was how can I correct bad information being associated with property we own. We have property that is rented. The renter has severe problems getting food or packages delivered to the correct address because previous renters changed **** house #s in area. Our records do not indicate a prior request to cancel after reactivation. All of our subscriptions are recurring. We outline on the sign-up page that each subscription package will automatically renew until you elect to cancel.
