On 1/15 I had a boot put on my car at a parking garage near ***************************************************. I had paid the money, but did not receive a receipt. I do however have verification from a credit card charge. I returned within the allotted time frame and a boot was on the car. I called the number on the ticket and they told me to pay $75 online to remove the boot, which i did. A man in a black mustang pulled up within 10 minutes and took the boots off and when asking why this happened he said he did not know and to call the number. The man in the mustang was wearing a Empire Parking Services shirt, the $75 charge to remove the boot was from Empire Parking. The license plate was *******. The tag you provided cannot be correct. The last time that tag was booted was in 2020. We do not accept credit card charges as proof of receipt as that cannot tell what time a ticket was purchased or what time that ticket was set to expire. I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that the tag you provided in this post is incorrect. If you do not have a receipt, we cannot not assist you for the afore mentioned.Customer Answer

Hello. I do not understand what the business means when they say the tag cannot be correct.
This email was received after the boot was removed and you can see the email address as "@advantageeps.com" And I can also show proof from my credit card company (who is also trying to dispute these charges) of the $75 charged.
Please let me know what other information they need. I have provided a license plate and make/model of the car who removed the boot, this email, and can also show a credit card charge to Empire Parking.

This complaint is being filed to make the Better Business Bureau aware of predatory business practices, and false advertising. On 1/6/2023, I followed the marked signage to a parking lot labeled 1st Floor Free Parking there was no visible signage stating otherwise. I picked up food from ***************, and when I returned I notice my vehicle had been booted. There were no visible signs stating the area where I parked was paid parking, or restricted. This is in direct violation of ***************** (570-38-7-.14) which states Posted signs must be free of any natural or man-made interference and be clearly visible. I am seeking resolution for this claim in the form of a Billing Adjustment of the $75 boot fee that was improperly charged to me. I would also like to request that proper signage is posted at all locations, in accordance with state law. I have attached a photo of the sign that states free parking.Business Response

Copy of Email sent to EPS: "On 21 November, I parked at the ***************** garage. I parked on the 1st floor in parking spot 3. The receipt for the parking spot is attached (parking receipt.jpg) and was placed on the dashboard of my car. The signs above most of the first floor parking spots are very clearly designated as 1 hour parking; however, spots 3 and 4 do not have the 1 hour limit marked on the signs above these spots. I have attached pictures of these signs and a picture of my car parked in spot 3 (1 hour parking sign.jpg, Car in parking garage.jpg, parking sign for spot 3, 4.jpg). I have worked in the Federal Building across from the parking lot every other week (usually on Mondays) since January 2022. Since that time, I have used *********** Street lot. I have parked in spot 3 or 4 (all day) any time the spots have been open....believing that I was parking in them legally because the "time restriction" on these 2 signs has clearly been covered up. Not believing I was doing anything wrong, I put my ticket on my dash - never hiding the fact that I thought it was legal/appropriate for me to park there all day. Respectfully request a refund of the $75 (boot receipt.pdf) I paid to get my boot removed and, if the spots (3 & 4) truly have time limits on them, the signs need to be adjusted to clearly show that there is a time limit on those spots also."When I sent this email to the Disputes line (as instructed on EPS phone recording and website) - I received a very unprofessional and inappropriate response back. I've tried to contact them by phone and by email, with no luck. On the evening of Saturday (12/3), we parked at the *************** lots to get dinner at Bell Street Burritos. I had assumed that we would get at least an hour to eat our food and even with an 8 month along (which feeding can sometimes be a challenge), I thought this time would suffice. However, returning to our car, we saw that we had a boot on our front and rear driver-side wheels. After calling the number to have a "technician" come out to our location and being told that he/she would be there within an hour (!!!), we noticed that no fewer than 4-5 other vehicles in the garage also had boots on their wheels, so my complaint is to inform the BBB that Empire Parking Services seems to subscribe to an extremely unfair predatory booting policy and would like their practices investigated so this doesn't happen to future customers.Initial Complaint

We had a terrible experience with an unprofessional employee working for this company. When our car got booted, we asked one of the employees for help figuring out how to pay the fine on the website, because it wouldnt work. He refused to speak to us (claimed he didnt speak English when it was an obvious lie to avoid helping us). When we asked why he refused to help us, he became combative and insulting. After we finally figured out how to pay the fine online he refused to remove the boot off our car. He said he was going to make us wait 45 minutes because he enjoys making people mad. He didnt start taking the boot off until I started videoing him as proof to show his management. The hostility toward us was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Company was purposely deceitful about the signage in the parking lot so that they can boot people. Theres a big sign before the parking lot that states the lot is for ***************. Park in the lot with the sign and I get booted because I dont live at the ***************. The rep that arrives points to a hidden sign that reads where I parked was off limits even though the entrance sign points there.Business Response

We are not responsible for the singe on the lot from a different company. On Thursday November 17th,2022. We parked on the first level of the parking deck located next to *************** market. We paid for 2 hours of parking at 5:55 pm. I used Amex ending in **** for payment. When I came back at 7:15pm to the car I was surprised to see that not only my car but several other cars were booted.I called for assistance and tried to argue that I had actually paid for parking. I unfortunately lost the ticket and could not prove my payment even though it should of been on their system. I found other upset people too at the site arguing the same issue.We were asked to pay the fine and after payment I decided to go and I then decided pay for another hour just to show that clearly the machine is giving out receipts without actually processing the cards ( I can provide a picture of the ticket and screenshot of bank account not showing any of both payments that day, except for the $75 fine). By the time I decided to take the picture to dispute the charges, the onsite attendant was now suggesting to not pay again and "waste" my money to obtain proof. Why was he worried or insisting now on not paying ?....I tried sending an email as suggested by the attendant to the email provider by him and it does not exist!!! On 11/13 I parked in the lots for ****************** to shop at 2 stores there. Arrived at 10:45 to realized they didnt open until 11:00. Walked across to the mall for a quick breakfast. Returned to the stores, made multiple purchases, returned to car and there was a boot which required a $75 payment. I have emailed this company everyday since 11/13 and havent received a reply. I have called numerous times as well with no reply. At this point I will be filing a dispute with my credit card company.
