On November 20,2022 I got booted around 4am. I paid the money and tried to get the boot off around 10am that morning. When they came to get my boot off, they claimed I allegedly tampered with the boot, and owed them an extra 150 dollars to pay for the boot. After I explained how I did not tamper with the boot, and there is absolutely no evidence of me doing so, nobody came out to take off the boot. I am currently sitting in my car at 2am waiting for someone to come. My car has been booted for over 12 hours, and I have missed work because of this. This company is absolutely awful to deal with, and is managed extremely poorly. I finally got in touch with someone and asked if there is anyone I can speak with above them, and they said, this is the highest youre getting tonight. This is a 24 hour company and I extremely irate that I have had to spend my entire day, missing work, to deal with this.Business Response

the boot was tampered with which is why it was not removed. attempting to pick the lock is a crime in itself no matter the case your vehicle was in violation of the parking rules and boots on vehicles that do not have a tampered lock come right off.Initial Complaint

On 9.27.22 my car was improperly booted by the company Empire Parking Services in my apartment complex. Our cars are required to be registered through the company Parkeaz, (which consists of us registering the make, model, year, color and tag number) and have a decal in the window. My car has been registered and has met all of these requirements since 2021. Empire Services booted my car anyway despite having over 3 different ways to verify if the car was allowed to be parked in the complex's lot. The morning they improperly booted my vehicle I was scheduled for a very important doctor's ************ which I then had to pay out of pocket to make using Lyft. After discussing the issue with my leasing company they admitted that my car should not have been booted and that it had all the proper tags and decals to prove I was parked in the lot legally. While I was gone a representative from Empire came and removed the boot. When I returned to my car after my appointment I noticed a gash in my front passenger tire where the boot had previously been. I have images of my vehicles on that day both before and after the boot was removed, which I even shared with Empire. The instructions they provide on their call line are incorrect and lead to an email that always bounces back, which I think is intentional. I reached out to my leasing company letting them know all of this and they connected me with a different email for them, when I reached out that way including receipts, images and the repair costs, they stopped replying. I reached out multiple times to resolve this issue and they are continuing to not take accountability for their actions. Their improper booting compromised my tire and safety. I was unable to safely drive around and was informed by a mechanic that with a gash like that the tire could explode while I was driving and it was basically a ticking time bomb of when not if it would. All they have to do is take responsibility and refund me the costs.Business Response

the boots are not sharp and have a rubber coating. The amount of pressure that would take is more them humanly possible. we will not assist with this as the facts outweigh the claim.Initial Complaint

November 6, 2022 I paid for parking and was booted the boot man told me that even though I paid I had to pay for boot and dispute it with company via email ..this is a scamBusiness Response

You were parked in Future Resident Parking and that is what you were booted for. You may not use those spaces for any reason other than what is listed. This is enforced 24 hours a day and you may not park in them afterhours. This is why it is listed as Future Resident Parking and does not have a time frame. We will not be assisting you in this matter. We also have nothing in the email provided that you have ever contacted us. I would make sure the email is correct if you have an issue in the future.Initial Complaint

October 20,2022 I parked and paid for which was $32.85 which was to expire 14 hours after I paid which I got there after midnight and the boot was placed on my car when my parking ticket specifically stated it was due to expire at 3:34. I went to leave around 1 and the boot was there. I was advised that I had paid for parking and was told I had to pay for the boot removal and dispute. Their website says someone will contact you in 72 hours after receiving your email. Ive emailed them a copy of my receipt showing I paid for parking and the time stamp. Today is November 4th and Ive yet to get a response after two attempted emails were sent. You cant get anyone on the phone and their site suggest you email but never responds. I am due $75 back ** my parking was paid for.Business Response

All vehicles must be paid. You will need to send a full receipt not just a piece of one. We will need a full detailed receipt. I don't know if you entered the email incorrectly or if you used a different email but this one only shows 1 time of contact a couple days ago.Initial Complaint

I parked legally at ********** on 9/23/22. I was booted within 5 minutes. An hour later a guy removes the boot and says to someone on the phone "man, you're working too fast. You've got tunnel vision". They had booted my car in error. When asked if I can have the name or some identification of the original booter so I can notify the company, the man responds..."nah man...ain't s*** they'll do about it". Multiple attempts to contact the company through their dispute portal have gone unanswered. I missed a dinner reservation and lost an hour of a Friday night.Business Response

You were not charged for the boots to be removed. The only thing we can do is speak to the tech and suspend him.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:Of course the boot was removed without charge. I was improperly booted. I missed my dinner reservation while a waited an hour to have the boot removed. I could barely get an employee number off the tech who removed the boot before he dropped a profanity when I asked for some way to address the original tech who booted my car.
I don't care what happens to the employee, not that I sincerely believe they'll actually be reprimanded anyway. It doesn't address that me and my partner's evening was ruined.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: I was illegally booted. The business has admitted this. I've asked for reciprocal compensation for the error...a truly nominal amount. Under the current recourse, which is nothing, they have absolutely no incentive to more carefully vet and train their staff. There is no other commercial transaction where this would be considered acceptable.
Sincerely,

On Sept 24, 2022 I parked at Amli Parking lot in *************************** and was fraudulently booted after paying for parking. I called to speak with someone and there is no one to speak to regarding the issue. I advised the technician I paid for parking and he stated the only way to get the boot off is to pay and to dispute it with the email address on the recording. He advised at that time a refund would be issued. I emailed the company and they did not respond. I called no answer. The bottom line is my car was unrightfully booted and no company should be allowed to do so. I paid for the parking through ***********. I would a refund of $75.00.Business Response

Your vehicle was booted for 2 reasons. The first one was dispelled however you were also parked in 2 spaces. The passenger side of your vehicle was parked partly in the space on the passenger side. For this reason, we will not be assisting you.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: This is a not true. Now you have officially admitted to fraud. The vehicle was not double parked. I have photos of the vehicle and footage and so does Amil Westside. I have already spoken to a representative at ************* who you are contested though. You can even tell by the level of professionalism and demeanor of your response. This company is not professional and you admitted you boot cars erroneously. I will escalate to Amli if you are unable to resolve the issue

Good Evening, My name is ******************** and I had an unpleasant encounter with your *************** on 10/01/22. I arrived at MAA apartments to visit a relative and upon arrival, I parked in the lower level of the visitors parking lot. While I was visiting my relative, she registered my vehicle to be in the parking lot. When I returned to my vehicle, it was booted, even though my vehicle was registered to park there. I called the attendant and questioned the guidelines on the parking procedure, which he advised me that there was no time limit on when the vehicle needed to be registered but because it was not registered when he came by, he booted my vehicle. I was saddened to hear that even though I corrected my error and had proof that my vehicle was authorized to be parked there, I still was forced to pay a $75 fine. I would like to speak with a manager because I dont feel as though I should be punished if I was able to rectify the situation. Can someone please give me a call at **************. I look forward to hearing from someone soon.Business Response

Your vehicle was not registered at the time the vehicle was booted. All vehicles must be registered and because you were not at the time it was booted; we will not be assisting you in this matter.Customer Answer

Complaint: 18155312
I am rejecting this response because: no one can show me where the handbook or guidelines say how long I have to register my vehicle. As long as my vehicle is registered by a residence, regardless of the timeframe, I as a visitor should not be punished. If you are able to give me specifics on where to find this information that says my car needs to be booted within a certain timeframe, so will let the issue go.
Sincerely,
********************Business Response

Hi, i am sorry you feel that way. Knowing the vehicle needs to be registered and not doing so is not permitted which is the main reason you were booted. As mentioned, we are not going to assist you in this matter.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Again, the vehicle was registered just not in the timeframe your business pulled out of thin air. Please show me where the handbook or guidelines state the timeframe my vehicle has to be registered by and I will kindly let the issue go.

On Monday, September 19, 2022, Empire Parking Service put a boot on my ******* still had time remaining on the meter/app. When I arrived at the parking garage, I noticed I had to download an app to pay. I downloaded the *********** app & entered my information (name, email, license plate). At *******, I paid for 2 hours of parking. I arrived back at my car at 12:05pm & there was a boot on my car. I called the Empire Parking ************** & was directed to send an email to *********************************** via the automated system. I sent an email that included the Immobilization Notice ******************** of the time remaining on my meter/app to let them know I was improperly booted. I still have not heard anything back. Next, I reached out to a dispatcher at the same phone number ********************* sent a technician to my car. The dispatcher is the only way to talk to a *live* person when calling the number on the sticker. When the technician called me to confirm my location, I received a 15 minute warning on the meeting/app. When the technician arrived, he stated I would have to pay to get the boot removed even though I also showed him I still had time left at the time my car was booted & even when I called into the office. I was forced to pay the $75 to have the boot removed although the car should not have been booted in the first place. The confirmation email clearly states Your session is confirmed by your vehicles license plate which was entered into the app. This company clearly made a mistake by booting my ********** are trying to force me to pay for their mistake even when I provided proof.Initial Complaint

I have attempted to contact the agency via email and phone, but I have not been able to receive a response. I went to a birthday celebration at Fogo ******* on Piedmont Road.I parked in the Kroger parking lot and walked to the restaurant and back. I could have parked at the restaurant, but knew after a hardy meal the walk would be good and, I wanted to get sausage to grill on Sunday. Upon my entry into the lot, I proceeded to Kroger to pick up the items.I requested the company to use the footage to trace my steps coming back into the lot and to please refund my money.Business Response

I am reaching out to dispute the 75$ charge for removing a boot on my vehicle from the ****************** in *******, ** late 09/01/22. Signage is not prominently posted in parking areas nor sufficient signage for the size of the parking lot. I drove into the lot off of Monroe Dr. and through as far as the trash receptacles in the middle and back to park my vehicle. I did not notice any signage on the property nor posted throughout the parking lot. I did however notice more than 8 other vehicles bootless parked in the lot, all on the ******************* Returning to my vehicle, I arrived to a lot with more/different vehicles parked in this lot ALL booted less than 1hr-1:20hr later. I feel, like predatory towing, our vehicles were called out by a spotter and not a property occupant. After speaking to the booting attendant ***, I expressed my willingness to pay the fine, but I was needing some evidence of the proper signage. I was shown a sign at the ****************** that did not give a timeframe to park or not park nor the company name. I also want to make a note I am not nor was I with the ladies that cursed Dre out and called the police that night.I am requesting a refund due to the property not being properly posted and predatory booting.Above is the email sent to the dispute email address provided on 9/14. I still have not heard anything on how to resolve this matter.
