I have received mail from the Distribution Processing Center ******************************************** addressed to my mother who has been deceased for seven years but who also never lived at this address. Why are they reaching out to people who have died at addresses they never lived at if this wasn't a SCAM?Business Response
Date: 03/08/2023
Dear Ms. **************** sincerely apologize for the stress the unwanted mail is causing you and your family.
Distribution Processing Center is a third-party mail processor. We work with legitimate insurance entities distributing their mail responses and maintaining their do not mail lists. The information mailed is an offer for legitimate insurance products by one of our many clients. DPC does maintain a global Do Not Mail list for any consumer wishing not to receive mail from ANY of OUR clients.
We have added the names ************* and ******* Driver and your address to our Do Not Mail Registry effective today.
Our clients purchase lists which are obtained through credit bureaus, which has your mothers name linked to your address. I would advise you to register with a National Do Not Mail registry to ensure you and your mother are blocked from receiving all similar mail.
Many mailers look the same so it is important to note that opting out with us will only prevent our clients mailers from being mailed to you. It will not prevent you from receiving similar looking mailings from the hundreds of other companies mailing for such offers.
You have both been opted out of our clients mailings and have been put on our Do Not Mail List. To ensure that you stop receiving all such mailings, it is imperative that you put yourselves on a National Do Not Mail List. We know this is frustrating to you, but we have done everything possible to stop ALL mailings coming from OUR CLIENTS. Again, we offer our sincerely apology for your stress and pain.
Respectfully Submitted,
Distribution Processing Center

Received a "form" in the guise of an official and legitimate document stating "As a resident of ********* (all caps, obviously auto-generated), you are entitled to more benefits not provided by governement (yes, they misspell "government" in their "official" document) funds. You now have access to new 2023 state-regulated programs which will pay for 100% of all final expenses up to $35,000. Return this postage-paid card within 5 days to request new benefit information and receive a FREE ******* CARD!" (in all caps). They ask for multiple pieces of personal information.Nowhere anywhere is there any indication of an actual business. Just a PO Box, in GA. No telephone. This is NOT a legitimate business. They will apparently claim here "they are a mailing company on behalf of legitimate businesses," etc., but that's obviously untrue. Photos with personal information and potentially identifiable bar codes redacted for privacy concerns.Business Response

Dear **************,
We have receiv** your concerns via the Better Business Bureau. Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns.
Distribution Processing Center provides mail services on behalf of commercial entities that market legitimate products and services to the general public. We mail for many insurance companies and agents. Our mailers are requir** to be generic and not reference any specific plan information because we are not sure at the time of mailing which company/agent will receive the return** lead. So, by law we are requir** to be generic in our messaging.
Also, since we are not the licens** insurance agent we cannot talk about specific plans. We mail generically and then forward leads to agents who are interest** in buying leads in the geographic areas in which leads have come in. That is also why there is no insurance company/agent list** on the mailer as it may not go to that company/agent. When we are talking about new benefits,we are referring to the many new plans that come out each and every year.
For example, there recently has been a new plan that will cover up to $50,000 in funeral expenses. This plan was not around in previous years. Again, since we cannot be specific to a plan we have to speak in general terms.
It is not our desire to send mail to anyone who wishes not to receive it so first and foremost let me apologize for any concerns our mailing has caus** you.
I hope that we have address** your concerns. We have opt-** you out of our future mailings as per your request. If you wish to opt out of mail similar to this, it is best to use a national DNM registry such as DMAChoice (DMAChoice.org)

I am rejecting this response because:As I said they would, they offer a form (non-) response, with exactly the language I indicated they would, and it is simply a scam. Anything short of a guarantee they will not contact us again will not suffice.

Dear **************,
We have responded to your complaint and are disappointed that it does not meet your satisfaction.
You have been added to OUR Do Not Mail List effective today, February 17, 2023.
Our clients are not in the practice of mailing to customers who do not wish to receive their mailers, as it costs money. Once a customer requests to be added to OUR Do Not Mail List or opt out online, this is done in a timely manner.
Many mailers look the same so it is important to note that opting out with us will only prevent our clients mailers from being mailed to you.It will not prevent you from receiving similar looking mailings from the hundreds of other companies mailing for such offers. I would advise you to register with a National Do Not Mail registry to ensure you are blocked from receiving all similar mail.I hope we have addressed your concerns.

This business is shady and should not be trusted! I was sent a misleading mailer from this company in an obvious attempt to steal my personal information to sell to other third party companies. It was made to look like a second attempt at contact to try and sell me life insurance coverage. I'm in my freaking 30's and should already be on the *** OUT lists to receive such spam mail. I have not requested nor am I interested in anything this company is trying to shill. I demand that they *** ME OUT of whatever mailing lists they have. Also, don't be fooled into using their recommended DMAchoice site to stop spam mail. You'll be forced to pay a fee and have your information stolen there as well.Business Response

I did NOT authorize for this company to send me anything on behalf of anyone else, whether it was for marketing purposes or not! They send out envelopes with BOLD lettering stating 2ND NOTICE as if they are attempting to collect a debt. I have called them on a prior occasion and told them to remove me from their mailing list and I called again today. All of these complaints against this company..I am escalating to the ************************* in ******** **! When you call....the voicemail doesn't even sound like a "real" company! Sent me mail with the words "Second Notice" in red ink clearly designed to stand out to create the appearance of an unpaid overdue bill. I find it annoying. I pay my bills. Then request on a form inside to get personal info on my family under the guise of a life insurance program. I don't like their approach! This should be illegal.Business Response
