Received mail, envelope stamped "Second Notice", appears threatening. When opened it's a SPAM solicitation. No name beyond the generic, no street address, just a PO Box. ALL red flags of a possible SCAM.Based on the extreme number of other complaints we can only infer this is a predatory attempt to separate innocent people from their identifying information and/or money. These mailings must stop IMMEDIATELY.

    Dear **********************,

We have receiv** your concerns via the Better Business Bureau.  Thank you for expressing them.

Distribution Processing Center provides mail services on behalf of commercial entities that market legitimate products and services to the general public.  We mail for many insurance companies and agents.  Our mailers are requir** to be generic and not reference any specific plan information because we are not sure at the time of mailing which company/agent will receive the return** lead.  So, by law we are requir** to be generic in our messaging.  Also, since we are not the licens** insurance agent we cannot talk about specific plans.  We mail generically and then forward leads to agents who are interest** in buying leads in the geographic areas in which leads have come in.  That is also why there is no insurance company/agent list** on the mailer as it may not go to that company/agent.  When we are talking about new benefits, we are referring to the many new plans that come out each and every year.  For example, there recently has been a new plan that will cover up to $ ********* in funeral expenses.  This plan was not around in previous years.  Again, since we cannot be specific to a plan we have to speak in general terms.

It is not our desire to send mail to anyone who wishes not to receive it so first and foremost let me apologize for any concerns our mailings have caus** you.

I hope that we have address** your concerns.  We have opt-** you out of our future mailings as per your request.  If you wish to opt out of mail similar to this, it is best to use a national DNM registry such as DMAChoice (DMAChoice.org)

I am rejecting this response because:

Same trite, canned response it has given every other complainant.

Although a Goggle search brought me to the BBB page first, I went back and reviewed the full number of search results.  It is STAGGERING to see the number of single complaints posted on other websites and warnings from consumer protection businesses regarding this business.

How is this permitted to continue?

    Sincerely,

I received a suspicious mailing from DPC indicating I may be eligible for state benefits to cover funeral expenses. The envelope stated second notice which implies the correspondence is urgent in nature. Id like to be removed from the mailing list and receive no additional communications from DPC.

I received a letter from Distribution Processing Center on October 11th, 2023. It was addressed to my wife. The structure of the correspondence is such that it is vague but impressing urgency upon the recipient. The design of the form is such that it echoes Federal and state tax forms. I hate to receive these emails.

Continually receive these mailings for funeral expenses as an intimidation from companies for pursuing a business in technology/ real estate as a minority womens business enterprise or their deeming I am not justified to be doing so?. I have also had prior issues with a technology company using my non public data without my knowledge and consent. So, I perceive these mailings to be a threat as well as the online emails I recieve almost daily from Globe Life telling me to purchase burial insurance. Society isn't made up of one size fits all and I as a WOB, African American, U.S., citizen have every right to pursue innovation in tech, education or any other business I choose without the subliminal threats coming from the masses who can't accept that this is a FREE country with the rights' to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These mailings electronic and otherwise are an unlawful act, which will not work. The hidious individuals need to be tracted by the authorities and need to cease in their doings.

I am rejecting this response because:  I am also receiving daily emails from Globe Life dubbed "Your Burial Insurance."  It appears since I am not responding to them you state you work with various companies who have products and services whom you solicit for without any mention of their businesses this is another way to send subliminal messages to people who do not request this type of coressspondence, which is very harassing to say the least.  This is occurring at a time where I am having or have had several issues with certain companies using my propietary data without my consent and would like me to discontinue challenging that issue.  So, I therefore take this as a threat and request that you cease and desist from sending any future emails to my business address or anyone located in the proximity of the same address as this will be sent for further investigating.  Thank *****

They may not be breaking any laws but they are clearly an unethical company based on the complaints received. I also received a letter with "second notice" and "important document enclosed" on the envelope. The paper inside targets Michigan residents claiming that they may qualify for $35000 life insurance/funeral benefits and by saying it is a state regulated program attempts to trick people into thinking it is a legitimate government program without crossing the line into actual fraud. They also offer no-cost information about free dental, vision, hearing, and prescription discount plan. It really says a lot when searching for "Distribution Processing Center" returns this BBB complaint page about them. I don't seek their canned response to my complaint but I would like to be excluded from any future mailings or contact of any sort in the future. It should be against the law to operate a business in the way they do and hopefully if enough people complain something will change to put a stop to it.

I have received two separate mailings from this company. It makes it appear as if they are from a government agency, stating that we can get $35,000 free life insurance. This needs to stop. Anyone who opens this would be led to believe that it is the government and would fall for it if they did not research it.

I am rejecting this response. These letters are clearly designed to create a sense of urgency in the recipient, illicit information that wouldnt otherwise be shared, and deliberately misleads people by making their firm look like tax documents.

The rejoinder stipulated that these letters are sent out in behalf of legitimate businessesnone of which are cited or specified. Its not even clear who sent this letter claiming ***** on behalf of other companies.

This is analog phishing, pure and simple.

    Dear *********************,

We understand that you did not appreciate the mailing you received from us and have since removed you from any future mailings we produce.

Weve also provided instructions for adding your late father to our Do Not Mail list, as well as several other National databases you can utilize to reduce mail from other vendors, too.

In response to your rejection of our initial reply, wed like to emphasize that our business operates in compliance with multiple governing bodies to produce mail campaigns that generate consumer interest in legitimate insurance, financial, and other products. We are not engaged in phishing, scams, or misleading consumers nor are our many reputable clients.

Therefore, it is important that mailers remain generic enough to be followed up on by the most appropriate provider of the desired products or services in the responding individuals area. This is also meant to enhance the consumer experience by allowing them to be paired with the best fit for their needs.

You expressed that we intentionally send mail that looks like tax forms. We often utilize generic design and basic form elements to help facilitate the intake of important contact information in a limited amount of space, but these designs are not intended to mimic any other documents. Any likeness you may have perceived is unintentional and likely a result of the basic nature of our mailers.

BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
