    I enrolled in Ashworth College in April of 2022 in the Bookkeeping course. I already have my accounting associates but chose this course because of the QuickBooks course and the ***** test that I can take for my bookkeeping credentials. I was down to two classes left in my program (the first parts all review) and I got to the QuickBooks class. I realized that there were issues with the course prior to this class; test questions open ended and misworded. But I let those go. When I began my final project for the QuickBooks course nothing in my text book matched with what was on the online version of QuickBooks we had to use. I contacted the help desk at Ashworth and was told that my book was an old version and the computer program was the current version, that the class material was being updated. I requested to cancel my enrollment but was told that I had finished too much of the program to receive a refund. I asked how I could be penalized for the university not having the proper materials to finish my course. Even the "academic advisor" that tried to help me struggled to figure out how I could move forward with my project to finish the course. I tried to talk to someone in admissions but was told they could not help me, and there is no professor for the course to speak with either. I went back and forth with them for two months with no successful resolution. I paid $749.00 for this course and was not provided with the proper materials. And the University seems to think that it is not their problem. I have attached the emails that I received from the one person at the "university" that tried to help me for two months, who struggled as well to navigate through the course project and pushed for me to get a refund as well. This place should not be able to offer a course that does not have the proper material for student success.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I do not think that an "educational institution" should be offering courses that do not have the proper up-to-date materials. Had this class been number three or six I would have tried to cancel my enrollment right away. I have no control over the sequence of the classes. If Ashworth is still unwilling to admit that this is not the experience students should have...or the way they should be treated that is fine. I will continue my path to the ********** of ********* so they are also aware of Ashworth's educational practices.  

    I would also like to state, the final project that caused all of this was graded; and was given a passing grade when I know it was incorrect because I had to work around the fact that I did not have the proper instructions for the online version provided on almost every portion of the project. This is another example of the type of education they are providing, giving incorrect work a passing grade means a certificate from Ashworth is meaningless.

    After paying my monthly tuition payment, Ashworth took out an auto pay which I never enrolled in. Also, they won't give you any diploma until paid in full ..they continue to ignore calls, submitted tickets etc. Fraudulent payment practices for sure.

    I hate doing this. I'm an alumni of Ashworth & have enjoyed their programs. I have no other recourse. During the pandemic, I used funding from gov't stimulus to pay in full for a career program at Ashworth College. Because of this, thankfully, I received an alumni discount and a paid in full discount that really brought down the price. I say this because I appreciate Ashworth College and what they do to make education affordable. However, I had to cancel the program or withdrawal because of time and other issues. I was told by the ******* Services representative that all I had to do was pay a reinstatement fee to start anytime I wanted. This made me feel good because I had the program paid in full & didn't have to worry about it in the future. All I had to do was come back anytime that was good for me. All this occurred in July of 2021. In April of this year, I reinstated and tried to get the program going again. However, I had to back out and take a refund from the reinstatement fee and a extension fee for my program. Again, I was told I could always come back and just pay a reinstatement fee to begin again. A couple days ago I called the school because I'm ready to get started again and complete the program. When I contacted student services, I was told that I would have to do a new enrollment because the student ID I gave was for an old program that was canceled. The money that was paid was said to have been a cancellation fee. This is not so. I checked my bank account as suggested from the representative and found that there was no refund to my credit card. It was a one-way transaction of almost $600. I would have canceled within the allotted time to receive a full refund, I would not have thrown away $600. The student services individual said she was going to send information to my email with a full breakdown of the charges and she never did. Because of this, I feel like they've stolen money from me, because of their error maybe mislabeling.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    This is not the correct program that I'm referring to. This is not in reference to any medical programs. It is a career diploma in paralegal studies. I have checked my bank records and can track the transactions that I made. This was a suggestion I received from student services. I enrolled in the program in July of 2021. I received a paid in full discount and an alumni discount. I was able to pay in full because of the government pandemic assistance. I was unable to continue the program and was told not to worry because I paid in full I could come back anytime to finish the program, all I had to do was pay a reinstatement fee. I did not complete any of the coursework.  In April of this year, I thought I had the time to restart and complete the program. But again, this was not the case. I paid a $25 reinstatement free and another $95 for an extension because you are given one year to complete the program and it was coming up on a year already. I realized I probably wouldn't have enough time to complete it. I received a refund of both the reinstatement and extension fee. I called last week to reinstate and restart the program. Now, I'm being told that it was a cancellation fee I paid in the past and that there is nothing to reinstate. This is simply not the case, this is incorrect and the school has made a mistake. This is not in reference to any medical billing and coding program. This is a misapprehension on the school's part. I'm glad there's an escalation specialist because I asked to speak with the manager or someone in charge who can help me because student services didn't. Nobody was willing to help. Hopefully the escalation specialist can find the proper program I'm referring to and see where their mistake is and hopefully reinstate the program. If this cannot be done, then I feel that this would be the end of my relationship with Ashworth College. I don't understand why, if there are notes and documentation on every phone call, not to mention a recording, there can be this much confusion over simple matter. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. I have lauded the school to multiple friends and family. I appreciate Ashworth so much and hate that this has happened. The training they provide is so convenient and affordable and I just wish I discovered them earlier in my life.

    About 2 weeks after starting a program I was to pay 60 a month for I started getting collection calls for the full amount. I contacted ashworth and was told it was a mistake. So I continued classes and made 1st payment as scheduled. Calls came again literally day after payment made. I thought ok, it's a mistake. I came down with covud and contacted I couldn't do a payment, they said ok we will work out an arrangement. After a week more calls, plus emailed bills from ashworth. I contacted ashworth and asked to drop program, was told no problem.. The program didn't work 90% of time and no one ever responded to help requests, plus my potential employer said the certificate would not meet their employment requirements. I had multiple reasons to drop.. more collection calls for full amount after classes dropped. I contacted our attorney General who suggested this maybe a predatory scam. They gave me a lawyers number. I don't really want to go through that. I just want the collections calls stopped and classes dropped like they said. I shouldn't have to be harassed by a scam program or have to pay for it!

    As of Monday 10/31/2022 when i was finally able to reach the military department of Ashworth College after attempting many times through the prior week/day, I was informed that they no longer will be having a military department. My call was to find out why no student enrollment was on my portial yet to start my Bachelors. The gal in that department then stated they would not be accepting new enrollment and then said "oh did you not recieve an email explaining" I was like ummm no. Long story short that *** enrolled me after she told me it would be best to find another college who did the VA cerfication due to Ashworth no longer doing that for the military people. I am upset I was given such late news on this, I can not enroll else where until *** 2023 AND I need my offical transcripts from Ashworth, BUT unable to get them because my student account is blocked with student enrollment contract. I called student services and ALL 7 different people keep telling me they can not help me that the military department is the only one who can. NO returning calls or emails or even answering the phone in that department. While I would have better time to prepare to enroll in another VA approved college had Ashworth commucated better, now I am doing nothing but losing my time by try to get ahold of my transcripts but also money out of my pocket by not being enrolled to recieve my VA benefits.

    I was led to believe that this school was accredited in the paralegal field. So, I signed up for both the career diploma and the undergraduate certificate in paralegal studies. I finished the career diploma and I am about to finish the undergraduate certificate. I have been applying to jobs and was informed by a potential employer (a law firm) that I needed to check the accreditation of this school (Ashworth College). I called student services multiple times, i called the career services multiple times, I email career services, I messaged student chat services all to try and find out definitively if this school is ABA approved. No one at this school seems to know nor does anyone want to help me find out. Instead, I am told to look it up myself. Career services does not respond.Upon my own research, according to www.americanbar.org, this school (Ashworth College) is indeed NOT accredited. Ashworth college is no where on the list of ABA approved schools! This is a false pretense as well as a violation of the Consumer Protection Act by misleading me that these programs were accredited and going to allow me to enter the career field as a paralegal.If you're looking for a career in the legal field, Ashworth College do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT attend this school.

    I am rejecting this response because: The school is lying. When I signed up for Ashworth College, I signed up for the Basic Electronics course. They had problems with shipping, so I ended up dropping That course and asking them if Paralegal Course was legitimate and certified. She also let me know that she was in the program. So, I signed up. Also, another lady told me the same thing, then, she enrolled me over the phone in the Associates Paralegal program in which I havent started because I havent gotten my GED transcripts. They led me to believe that taking the paralegal program was actually worth something in the real world when in fact it is worth nothing. The National Paralegal Certification from ******** requires ABA approved courses. Ashworth College is offering a paralegal program with the intent that is is all you need when in fact the ************************ does not approve of their courses.

    I applied online for this school with a price of just about $600 and when I dropped out when I started my new job . Next thing I know they reported to the credit agencies that I owe then $1000 dollars. I did not borrow anything and was paying out of my own pocket.

    I began the Masters Certificate in Marketing program in 2019. Ashworth is phasing out the program this December 2022. I have been working on completing it and to date I only have one paper left to complete the program in full. I spent $2500 on this certificate and Ashworth is paid in full. Until the final class, I have grades no lower than a 96 with a 4.0 average. In this final class, ******************* my papers were assigned to El Serrant. She gave me a 100% on one paper, but F's on the remaining. I disputed the grades asking that they by reviewed again by another instructor. The Masters program reviewed only one raising it from an F to a 75%, which I still do not agree with. I asked again about reviewing them ALL and regrading them. On 10-8-22 I was told by ***** L that this would be done. To date it has not. I have asked weekly since that date for an update and have received no response from ************** This evening, 10-28-22, I revised the date on all assignments and resubmitted them to put it back in the grading queue. Even though I asked that ****************** NOT be assigned to my work, she graded them again!! She gave me a 100% assignment 2-1 that she originally gave me an F on. I changed nothing but the date! This school lacks basic customer service. They do not reply to requests. They do not call you back. At this point I have wasted $2500 because those are VERY shady grading practices, therefore this certificate means nothing. To resolve my complaint, I want one of the following:1. A full refund 2. regrade assignments 2-1, 2-2, 3-1, 3-2, 5-1, and 5-2 like I asked almost 6 weeks ago.3. Mail me the certificate and close my account. I do not have more time to waste on this and go back and forth. I do want the school to know that ******** is the only responsive person who genuinely has tried to help me at this school.

    I had been researching different online college courses to take when I came upon Ashworth College. I had no intention of taking classes that I would have had to pay for out of pocket. On 03/04/2021 my card was charged for the first time for the amount of $1.00 by Ashworth College. Afterwards, every month on 4th day each month I was charge $55.00 until December 4th, 2021. That was the last charge to occur. I had called and requested a cancelation on the 9th of March 2021 because I did not want to take the courses because they did not offer financial aid due to they were not accredited, and I was not going to pay out of pocket for classes that I could just as easily pay for the class by using my pell ****** I never logged in to the online classrooms, nor did I participate in the classes in any way. Not To mention, I called and spoke with a representative to cancel well before the first payment was taken from my account. However, they denied I ever made a cancelation call. So the first time I tried to resolve this issue, it was strictly with the company its self. I tried to cancel before they billed me. When that failed, and I noticed charges to my card a few months later again, I tried to resolve the issue by reporting the charges to my bank When reporting them as fraudulent didn't work because they failed to fit the criteria, I decided, to try and reach out to the 'school' one last time in hopes of resolving this issue. So, I called again and asked for a refund. Only this time, I spoke with a representative and then her supervisor. Both of them were very rude, completely unhelpful and entirely unwilling to comply in any way with my request to issue a refund. Instead, they informed me that I actually owed more money to the 'school'. At which point, I was informed that during my initial account creation I had signed an agreement that in the fine print stated that I was agreeing to pay certain fees, even if I canceled the classes.     On October 16, 2022, **************** called to inquire on her account. **************** was advised that we did not have any record of her attempting to withdraw from the program. **************** was advised of previous payment disputes that were received. During the call **************** was advised of her contractual cancellation terms and that she would owe a liability. As an act of good ****** Ms. ******* account was closed with a zero balance. *************** is not eligible for a refund.

    I am filing a second respectful complaint concerning Ashworth College. There is a *********** Law Certificate program. There are two courses with 8 examinations, overall. One has two exams; the second has eight exams. The syllabus combines all eight examinations into one final grade. The syllabus is attached; it states, "800 = $100%." The first course was a 100%. The second course was a *****%. However, the system is still not passing me. Regardless, I had earned 1***** points out of ****** points. Per the syllabus, this is deemed passing because Ashworth College combined all examinations, [800 = $100%]. Examinations: ****** / 800 = 72%. Ashworth College does not pass the student if the second course is below a 70%. However, I am filing a respectful complaint because the syllabus does not state that both courses have to be passed. The syllabus simply states that it combines all examinations into one final grade. This combination is over a 70%. I am to pass the program. "Modification/discontinuance of an advertised claim" is an appropriate resolution choice.

    Ashworth College was contacted concerning the second concern above. The resolution is to cancel the account within 5 days. In addition, the program may be taken again with the results from the first attempt applied to the second account. The second account is now completed and will be paid for.

    Concerning the first complaint, I contacted Ashworth College after receiving the voicemail. It was expressed that Ashworth College would get back to me concerning a resolution. I am not accepting or rejecting the second response.
