I am writing this review to express my disappointment with the customer service I received from ********************** University. I enrolled in the Administrative Assistant Certificate program with hopes of furthering my career prospects. However, I have recently been diagnosed with a medical condition that now prevents me from pursuing a career in this field. I reached out to Ashworth University to request a refund for the program.Although I had already reviewed the material, it was in a digital format, which I believed should make the refund process simple. The content was not really even that long or extensive - I would say not enough for the money either. I requested a refund and even offered to cancel the certificate that came with the course, but my request was denied by Ashworth College. As someone who struggles with impulsiveness due to ADHD, I made the decision to purchase the course before fully understanding the impact of my diagnosis on my ability to pursue a job in this industry. The money I spent on the course would have been a significant help towards covering my basic needs such as food, especially now that I am managing my ADHD.I have had to sell many of my possessions to afford treatment and management, along with purchasing basic necessities and rent. I would hope that a company like Ashworth College would understand. I am surprised and disappointed that Ashworth College, which prides itself on exceptional customer service, has not been responsive to my request. I would appreciate it if the university could reconsider my refund request and provide me with the necessary assistance during this difficult time. Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated. I would have at least liked to be escalated to the manager or have had my request forwarded to someone other than the standard student care department that handles all of the routine messages. That would have made me feel much more heard since I was asking for an exception to the common rules.

On Feb 17, 2023, I enrolled in a program with this school. They rushed me to sign and send in my enrollment agreement by sending me numerous email reminders. I signed it and returned it. On that agreement it states that registration and shipping fees are non refundable after 5 days. I started the program and quickly(after orientation) realized this would be too much work for me at this time and contacted them, through email of my desire to cancel. I was told I would be responsible for $527! For orientation!! What school charges you to attend orientation? Apparently they have a policy that states that if more than 11% of your program is complete, you are responsible for a certain portion of tuition(attached is the breakdown in the agreement) but they did not explain that orientation is part of the curriculum. This is misleading especially since people do not know if they are even capable of online learning until after the orientation. I have been going back and forth with them for almost ******************************************************************** and they remain charging people ridiculous fees for a program that they did not start. I would like my balance wiped clean because this is borderline predatory.

A reply was provided to ******************** on March 12, 2023. The email stated thank you for contacting the school. I understand that you are inquiring about your cancellation balance. Per your signed enrollment agreement, you have five (5) days from the date of enrollment to cancel without any obligation to the school. Once you are outside of the first five days of enrollment, you are then subject to cancellation fees that include application fee, registration fee, as well as any completed lessons. If you have not completed exams or assignments, your cancellation fee is an application and registration fee.

I am rejecting this response because:

All that was done was repeating the status of events to include dates. I am not denying what I completed within the program. What I am not in agreeable with is the fact that it was not clear, from the beginning, that orientation was included in the program. The mere fact that I am not getting emails stating I still owe for the full month on top of all the extra fees is ridiculous as I definitely confirmed my cancellation of the program, in writing, prior to the date of my first payment. If I sent the email saying I wanted to cancel, what else needs to be confirmed? This response offered absolutely no resolution.

Back in November 2022, I signed up for Ashworth's College Medical Billing and Coding Program. Previously, I attended this course back in 2016 and then took a break due to personal reasons. When I signed up again in 2022, the entire curriculum changed. They no longer utilized textbooks and gave their students E-book and Lab access keys. Additionally, they eliminated old courses and replaced it with new ones. Unfortunately, Ashworth hasn't made any effort to update my curriculum to the new one. We are well into Feb 2023, and I still do not have any access to their new curriculum nor E-book. I have spoken to three advisors who promised me that the IT department would updated my student portal and give me access to the new courses required for graduation, but they never did. Each advisor makes me wait weeks at a time which has amounted to months with no change. I have also filled out tickets to get this resolved but the Advisor misread my message and assumed I was under the new curriculum when I wasn't and declared the ticked resolved. I feel this is a scam. I pay monthly on my tuition but I still have no access to any of their new classes that are required for graduation. Without access, and updates of the new classes in my portal I will not graduate. I am highly disappointed in Ashworth because they keep coming up with any excuse to keep making me pay for a program that I have no access to. I haven't been able to work on any of my courses. My advisors advised me not to seeing that I would be taking old classes that have been eliminated from the program. Meanwhile, time is ticking as they only allow so much time for students to complete their course before they make you pay extension fees. I am requesting that Ashworth refund me the entire cost of the program if they will not allow me access to the new curriculum immediately. I believe that this is only fair. I feel it's unethical for them to make me pay for a service I have no access to.

On March 5, 2020 I signed up for a career diploma in Sterile Processing Tech with ashworth... days later, the ***** pandemic shut the world down. I got sick, and also lost my job and had no income and couldn't pay for the program. With everything that was going on, I was not able to finish out my studies. Despite what was happening in the world, and me having no job to cover the program costs. They still sent my account to collections... I paid the debt off, and I tried to continue my studies but they stated I had to pay for an extension of $95 which isn't fair because I was sick in the hospital and had lost my job due to ***** shut down and couldn't pay for the program. It's been 3 years and I haven't even gotten a chance to complete the studies, I never finished out the program. I want a REFUND. And I no longer have the card that I paid with and I no longer live at the address that I signed up with. Please refund me. I never even had a chance to get started with the program. I was ROBBED.

I canceled my course after finishing 3/6 ******s (50%) because I realized they had falsely advertised the certification and it did not hold any accreditation in *******. Please note: If I had been able to realize this sooner I wouldve canceled within the first week but I wasnt even given access to the program after paying the initial fees until I spent hours trying to contact them. The process of trying to cancel was also a hassle and required multiple phone calls, emails, and submitted tickets before I received a response two weeks after my initial attempt to cancel. I was finally able to withdraw from my program on August 12th, 2022. I received a refund for my 20$ deposit which I have record of on my credit card statement and from that point, I believed the matter to be resolved. I now understand that the contract states "If the student has submitted more than 25% of the ******s, up to and including 50% of the ******s" the amount owed is "Non-Refundable Fees + Registration Fees + 50% of Tuition" No where in the contract does it mention orientation being included as one of the ******s and it is also not listed as a ****** in the grade report provided to me which proved that I had only completed 50% (3/6) of the listed "******s". My issue is with that fact that I was provided misleading information that misrepresented the qualifications of the program and when deciding to cancel was faced with poor customer service and ************************ conduct. I do not feel that I must pay the full amount of the tuition which has since been offered to others at a significantly lower price. However, I am willing to pay the 50% mentioned in the contract as an attempt to put an end to my connection with this poor business. This is a more than generous offer considering the product I will be giving money for was never received and not as advertised by the business.

I am rejecting this response because the information given in the response is inaccurate. The contract does not say 50% of the program but 50% of the lessons themselves. I enrolled in this college and cancelled the same day. I was told that it was all set *** that they would reimburse my account. That was several weeks back. Then, I got this huge bill in an email. I called them back and they said that I was supposed to answer some email after our call and that because I completed an hours worth of initial assessments, I am liable for this bill. Then, when I told them that I will not pay it and that I was going to contact the BBB they cut the **** down to 500 and canceled the program like they agreed to in the first place. They said that I was supposed to confirm cancellation through an email that I never got. This is a shady scam of a business, and I am sure that I'm not the only victim. At 55, I have taken many courses and degrees. This is legitimately a crappy organization. I have never made a complaint against any business. This is how much I want them to stop stealing from people. I will never pay that bill.

I remember doing it the same exact day that that I signed up and canceled. It's my word against theirs. I have no idea what the status of r he bill is at this point. They told me that I was good to go when I canceled. Then they told me that they adjusted the bill. They obviously know what to say, and have the legal means to get the outcome they hope for. I would appreciate a letter explaining what their intentions are.

I signed up in Vet tech program with Ashworth College in July 2022. I took 3 classes with no problem. On my 4 class I failed a writing assignment that needed me to quote the law about vet tech requirements in my state. I explained to my teacher I didnt understand what she was asking for. She did not make the assignment clear. So I passed all other assignments and test in the class. Had an 81 even with the failed assignment. Long story short my teacher sent me to the review board on 10-20-2022. It said it would take 2-3 weeks for an answer. So by December when I have not heard anything I reached out multiple times to teachers the students service. I got the run around to the point they said well we are going to freeze your payments till we get this taken care of . I called and emailed the whole mouth of December. Was told it had been on the review boards desk since December 1 st. And that they dropped the ball. Apologize to me so many times. Assured me that I would not be kicked out of school. Come ******* I called and said this is crazy I need to have an answer. The next thing I know they sent an email saying I never provided a high school diploma. Which I did soon as I started sent to the admissions department. Was told I could not get an answer on my review until I provided that. So I sent my official transcripts and high school diploma that day. I was told I would have a answer on the review board the next day. That day came and went. I called back and was told they needed my official transcripts to be provided from my school. But I emailed the official transcripts to them. So I contacted my high school get that in the works. Then I got a email telling me they kicked me out of school due to plagiarism many times. Which I was not aware of . The teacher asked we quote the law in my state. So I did and re worded it. I asked for an appeal explaining I was not clear on the assignment. I was told no and sent and email saying I still have to pay for school still.

I paid for their online course in full. I was displeased with the fact that their courses will do nothing to help me gain a successful career. I initiated a refund. I was told by the Ashworth College Support Team TWICE that they had refunded my money back into my account. THEY DID NOT. Instead I reached out to them as to why they have not given me my money back. They told me they sent a paper check. This paper check never came. ASHWORTH COLLEGE STOLE **** DOLLARS FROM ME AND I WILL BE SUING THEM FOR IT.
