We bought a sliding door from Pella Knoxville, waited a long time for delivery (we were told it would take a while, so that was not the problem). The installers put the door in, then said a blind was broken & the screen didn't fit, they couldn't do anything but request service, but to get service we had to pay the balance due. We paid, then heard nothing. I called to see if we could set up a service date, no one called back. There seems to be no customer service dept. or person & the service coordinator works from home & didn't answer calls or emails. The installation manager said they were behind, waiting for parts, short-handed, etc. Sales rep tried to help, said we were in queue, they were waiting for parts; manager said maybe he'd come out & look at it, never heard any more from him. Finally, almost 9 weeks later a service man arrived with a new screen. But there was nothing wrong with the original screen, the piece on top attaching it to the frame was a fraction of an inch too long, so he put on a different one. Nothing was wrong with the detached blind; he pushed it up & it clicked into place. In the meantime, some of the caulking has separated from the frame; I didn't even mention that to the service man since it wasn't on his work order. Not sure why we had to wait so long & why we were treated like we were after buying this expensive door. Won't buy from them again & won't recommend them to anyone. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Shameful.

Pella is the worst. We ordered them last June!!! The doors arrived at the warehouse in October. The half assed installation is a joke. Started the end of November. Continued in December. They then demanded full payment without completion. They promised to be here January 31. They still haven’t come. They aren’t wind or waterproof! So we have a brand new home being ruined by pella. Since posting my reviews online I have received canned responses with empty promises of contact and corrective action. All part of the pella lie.

We dealt with a distributor of Pella doors and the corporate office. These doors are incredibly expensive so you'd think customer service would be excellent. You'd be wrong to make that assumption. We call because our lock was faulty. Since it's a security issue we asked that they expedite the part so we can be safe in our own home. They would not help with that but in addition wanted $850 to buy the part and would not allow for a refund if the part took more than 4 weeks to receive. They could not give me a delivery date. Not even an expected delivery date until I paid them a NON-REFUNDABLE fee of $850!! So if part was going to take too long for us to live in unsafe conditions and we needed to buy a new door we would be out the $850. Terrible service! Awful customer service and products that are not compatible with other locks. Beware! Not worth the headache.

Purchased 4 Pella vinyl windows from Lowes in FL late 2020 did not receive for several weeks due to Covid (everyone loves to blame.
Installation crew was considerate and did thew job adequately, we have a cinder block house and the old windows were, old . Thought new windows with impact resistance would be the right thing.
So finally had a heavy rain and the water started backing up into the house! around the edges of the widow onto the drywall and under the flooring on all 4 windows!!! Frantic my wife and I are mopping up water off the sills all nite. Notice that water is building up in a trough below a plastic cover that should lead to the weep hole's , so stay with me, I take the small covers off the weep holes (in the rain) thinking they are not functioning properly, No help.
So a night lost, and we make the call to Pella service and they send out a tech fairly quickly (hooray) in the meantime my wife is able to suck out of the trough approx. 40oz of water!
the tech arrives and I explain the plight of these none functioning windows and he pops the cover off the "troughs" and says the "weep holes are not drilled out" I'm floored as a mfg. eng. that is a product failure and should be recalled!!! Shouldn't one mold in the weep hole for proper functionality? or factory drill out the weep holes so not to penetrate below the trough and cause the water to accumulate below the widow on the sill?
Service had no help not covered under warranty now I have to pay to replace drywall and flooring?
PELLA is a HORRID company, and have a HORRID product they do not back up!!
Again all 4 windows had this problem how many more are out there waiting for a good rain and cause mold and other damage to one's home.
Time to go to the next forum I can find and reprint this sad accounting of a company.

So much for the Pella window guarantee! We purchased five Pella double pane windows, made and guaranteed by Pella, from a Lowes store during the summer of 2021. Come wintertime in Northern Maine, it gets cold and windy. Two windows on the prevailing wild side leaked so bad that we had to duct tape them shut to keep the heat in and the cold and wind out. We started calling Pella customer service. We called the 800 number; we called the 1000 number. Nobody would answer the phone, but we did get to leave messages, of course no one returned the calls. We started to use emails, we wrote letters, nobody responded and now into the second winter with the same windows, out came the duct tape again. Paying that amount for top quality windows according to the sales pitch, and you end up with dodo, lots of free advertising from us though, all bad!

Now I know why the rating is 1.33, I wish I looked at this before, no amount of calls or requests get looked at by Pella. I spent $75,000.00 on Pella windows in May 2022, I am still waiting for the full order. Calls and emails to Pella goes unanswered and you can never talk to decision makers, you can only speak to CST people who has no idea what's going on except read the comments on your file. This is why Chinese companies take over, if this how America is looking to compete, God bless us. There is a reason all new homes in my Neighborhood has windows with names starting with an A, I wish i did the same, i am beyond stressed.

The never-ending nightmare with Pella is going to bury both myself and my husband. The customer service is absolutely horrendous. Because of them and their lies, delays, unresponsiveness, terrible mistakes made (such as damaging the windows during install, breaking the glass of one and bowing and hammering the frames, telling me a window was "missing" and pretending to search for it when the Bill of Lading said "backordered," as it was never fabricated), waiting over a year for all my products, delaying my new home build so that I have become homeless with nowhere to live, costing us money in storage fees and high rentals, aggravation that is causing health issues and sleepless nights, no one advocating for us, employees who put us off or just ignore us, I can honestly say that this has been one of the most horrific experiences of my lifetime. We believed we were upgrading to a better window and a "good" company. As a courtesy to others, I implore anyone reading this to stay away from Pella. RUN the other way. They claim they "deliver with pride." What a complete joke! My issues are still unresolved. My windows/doors were ordered in early October 2021. It is now almost February 2023 and I still cannot move into my home due to missing products. I cannot close on the house until all windows and doors are installed. The Pella team I'm referring to are from the Orlando, FL headquarters. You WILL BE IGNORED by customer service. I cannot believe that a company that promises their product to a customer and takes over a year to deliver outright ignores inquiries and requests for help via phone calls and emails. I've NEVER experienced this kind of thing with any company I've ever done business with in all my decades of life.

I told Pella Windows and Doors that I’d tell everyone that would listen if they denied my claim again. I bought a brand new Pella door from Lowe’s and it has an OBVIOUS manufacturer defect. They installed the glass backward. The brown pane in the window is supposed to face out and the white is to face in. They want $691 to fix it! They said it’s outside of the two-year warranty because I’ve had it sitting in storage after I bought it waiting to need it during my cabin build. It hasn’t even had the final inspection yet. Their website (under FAQ) says that keeping them in storage doesn’t affect their warranty period. I don’t care if it’s out of warranty or not. If they can’t stand behind an obvious build problem, people should know. I’ll NEVER buy another Pella product again. It was the Beltsville, MD office that refused my claim.

I would not even give them 1 star but beware they subcontract out and the workmanship is shoddy at best. The two guys that came out a few years ago used saws to cut out my existing windows. With our most recent blizzard things came to light. I discovered the caulking was separating from the windows letting cold air blow in. Frost was coming in the track where the windows sit and slide back and forth but wind was also coming in at bottom and corners. I had another company come out and there should have been caulking outside around window sill but pictures show they stopped at bottom. Called Pella and my options were $300 to have someone come to my home or $100 to do a virtual assessment. This poor installation job is now gonna cost me another $12,000 to totally replace the windows and do them correctly. I'm looking forward to having a warm house and have a reputable company install my new windows. Do your homework! Do not let Pella play on your emotions by you thinking you better sign now or else you won't get a good deal. Unfortunately you get what you pay for!
