      I am filing a complaint against Intoxalock for damages and unfair charges caused by their ignition interlock device. The device drained my battery multiple times, leading to a damaged vehicle part ($750), labor costs ($200), a new battery ($204.37), and a diagnostic at ************* ($163). I was also wrongly charged two $75 lockout fees due to the system falsely detecting tampering and paid a $30 technician ********* out-of-pocket cost: $1,497.37 Ive complied with all legal requirements and made several attempts to resolve this with Intoxalock directly, but received no resolution. I am seeking reimbursement and an investigation into the safety and reliability of their devices.

      Good Day,I am filing this complaint for deceptive and fraudulent business practices. I have requested a refund of funds remitted to this company, a closure of the account, and the end to any automatic recurring charges. I went with another vendor for the product as this vendor was unable to the device installed on my vehicle. Calling the company has proved futile, as multiple messages have been left for the representative that opened this account. The staff has refused to transfer me to a Supervisor and have been extremely rude and dismissive in this process. Do not use this company. Extremely unprofessional.

      Ive been required to get a IID installed in my vehicle since then I have having to had my vehicle towed three times and havent worked on once since then the vehicle will not start and is still at the installation shop in ********* ********. Today is June 5, 2025 and I paid them $240. After that they told me the vehicle would not start this is an hour. And an ongoing issue since January 27, 2025 and have her pay them multiple times to look at it still to no avail. I want to see about getting reimbursed for some of my money I believe I am being discriminated against.

      Weve been in direct communication with Mr. ******** throughout this process. At his request, the equipment was removed. We also offered additional support to address any remaining concerns, but Mr. ******** confirmed there was nothing further we could assist with at this time.

      Following the inspection completed on June 2nd, it was determined that his vehicle required repairs. To allow him the opportunity to complete those repairs, a temporary removal of the equipment was approved. While the repairs were completed, the issues with the vehicle unfortunately persisted. As a result, Mr. ******** made the decision to proceed with the permanent removal of the equipment.

      During this time, we applied a courtesy credit of $115.80 on June 2nd, covered closing fees of $113.70, and also paid for the equipment removal at the service center on June 6th.

      on 5/8/25 my wife and I hired a company INTOXALOCK aka consumer safety technology llc to install a breathalizer in our 2019 ***** RX 350. There were no issues with the car in good condition everything worked no warning lights. We were told a mobile company would be coming to our home that evening between 5 and 6pm. Their names were **** ****** with an LLC called Electronic Access and ******* "****" ******* with an LLC called *************************. **** did not show up to my home until approximately 12:05AM and had previously requested a cash payment of 600 dollars. We did paperwork he told me it would take a few hours but I would 1000 percent have my vehicle by 1pm the next day for a probation meeting. The next morning he told me there are a few things to wrap up w the device and his partner would be there shortly after 9 am to finish. **** did not show up till just before 11. He then started making excuses for why the job was not done because it was a ***** and that was a difficult installation etc. I have spent 25 years in customer service so I try to be as understanding a possible but after and ENTIRE week of excuses and my car being RIPPED apart enough was enough. The panels were not put back on my car, the dash board was not put back on, there were 4 errors on the car including breaks headlights airbags and another electrical error. My heat and AC completely do not turn on and last but not least the battery was dead which i had replaced 3 months prior. I attempted to call intoxalock which takes at least an hour each time. Finallly spoke to a supervisor named *****. SHe told me to tow the car to another shop Audio Excellence to a man named **** who would fix the problems caused with original install. My car has been at the shop for almost 2 weeks and they have not gotten the approval from intoxalock to fix the damage caused by their installers, they told the shop I had to pay for the damage and do a claim. HOW IS THIS LEGAL?

      After speaking with Mr. McCue, Intoxalock has credited his account for the cost of the tow.  The vehicle is currently at another Service Center who is going to fix the issues.  Mr. McCue informed us that the FL DMV is stating he's not eligible so after the repairs they will be removing the equipment at no charge to him.

      The company provides a IID (Interlock Device) on motor vehicles for those convicted of a DUI. I experienced a Violation because I was having a calibration done 5 hours BEFORE my due time. Multiple issues have happened with this company. Its a shady practice. I have been compliant for months. When I attempted to blow, it continuously said "Missed Retest, Blow Harder" despite me giving it all I got. It did this for 10 minutes before locking out my vehicle.The typical cost to resolve a lock out is $87. If I was not already at the shop to have a calibration done, it would have cost me $87 to unlock plus towing my vehicle 16 miles to have it unlocked.The fact they admitted giving me a violation because I was close to the due date to my technician is a clear violation of their own policy, as I had 5 hours left. There is criminal activity involved trying to gain money from customers who have no choice.

      After speaking with *** *****, it was determined he wasn't locked out prior to his recalibration deadline.  Rather, the handheld was showing breath temperature readings outside the parameters.  After determining he wasn't drinking anything too cold or hot at the time, and that the handheld was not close to the vents we set up a handheld swap which should prevent any issues going forward.

       

      Intoxalock waived the lockout fee and applied a $100.00 rebate as well as one month credit to his account for his time and inconvenience.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I don't care about any fee waiver. I'll continue to pay until I get the truth. I got money, i'm not worried about that. Leave a voicemail of the real reason why this happened. Ironically, since I paid to have the device recalibrated, with only a few hours left on my deadline, I have had no issues. It's funny how that worked out, right? You wanted to lock me out for an extra $80, huh? It's been completely fine since I got it serviced. Not one single issue. I purposely dodged all calls from Intoxalock and my tech just to see how it player out and refused to switch out the "defective" device. You're telling me my trusted mechanic lied to me? There is a pattern of misconduct and dishonesty and it is evident on Reddit and Trust Pilot that shows this is a common factor in your business practices. How is the breath sample different if your camera shows I am the only one in the vehicle, in the parking lot of my techs shop, blowing until I am red in face for 10 minutes straight. If your camera actually worked, and you actually reviewed it, this would be no contest.

       It's nonsense, and I wont stand for it. I have refused to pick up the phone the 3 times you have called because the voicemails only seem to want to protect your "reputation," and not that fact you actually care. I am dealing with sins from years ago, I know I did wrong in my past. I accept that completely. But don't cheat me out of my freedom for money, or the sick thrill of messing with people.

      I get really bored after work, we can do this the next couple months of my contract. Trust me I will take this to the end.

      I am writing to express my frustration with Intoxalock due to an unfair charge and poor customer service. On May 27th, my ********************** device registered a false positive reading. I immediately retested within 40 seconds, and the device showed a ***** blood alcohol content, proving I was not drinking. Despite this, I was still charged an $80 fee for a lockout.When I called Intoxalock, they instructed me to recalibrate the device, which I did. However, they still refused to refund the $80, claiming I had already used my one-time courtesy fee removal. The previous courtesy removal was due to a medical situation where I couldnt blow accurately after dental work, and I only had the device for a short time ******* is unfair and unreasonable to be charged for a false positive when the immediate retest proved my sobriety. The lack of proper resolution and the inconsistency in their policy application are unacceptable. I hope that by sharing this experience, others are aware of these issues and that Intoxalock will reconsider their policies and customer service practices.

      Intoxalock respresntative sold me a 12 month interlock device that i had to pay to get installed and would have to pay the get installed. Representative ******* *** lied to get me set up next day both the lease price and calibration fee have ended up being more than promised. Each time I call im told to wait ***** hours for a Resolution and am told its too bad. This company is a classic bait and switch providing flat low numbers to customers like 20$ calibrations but then service center is charging 37$ each time and they say there is nothing they can thats a labor charge. All these hiddens service center labor charges and taxes are never discussed. I wish i could this device out of my car but the company will not give me the money back spent on initial install. Im stuck with this device in my car paying more money

      This is being reported as a lock out. The vehicles battery is constantly being drained by this machine. The car died but was able to be jumped and driven to the shop for calibration. It was never locked out. The company states it's locked out but given 5 days to get it the shop. That is not how it works. This has happened multiple times, killing brand new batteries, causing 3 lease extensions. And violations reported to the state. I want a billing adjustment and the violation to be removed from my account.

      I have an Intoxalock system in my car and this has happened many times. I have nothing out issues. Went to get my car calibrated and I got charged for a lock out. I never didnt pass a test or miss one. I got charged 75$. I called Intoxalock and waited on hold forever and no one helped me and said was my fault

      I took time off work to have device removed from my vehicle. Intoxalock had insured me 2 different times that on May 27 at 9am I was scheduled to have the device removed . The service center did not receive any paperwork for the removal . Removal was delayed by 6 hrs .thats 6 hrs I missed at work .... at 40$ an hour
