Lease can only be signed after you get the install which the technician charge over $300. rebates for $100. So if you decide you dont like whats in the lease you will have to come out of pocket to have it taken out as well as occur additional charges from intoxalock. You are charged a leasing fee twice in the first month. I havent drink in over ten years and the device have many issues that can cause a lockout. I told the representative I believed my device was faulty after getting a lockout after only having the device for 3 weeks. I called and they mentioned it was not my fault but still had to pay the technician as well as a service charge on intoxalock end. about two weeks later I received another lockout message after just getting in the vehicle. Car was shut off the night before, the two minutes count down was a success but the next day was a lockout message upon entering the vehicle. Was told the weather could have triggered the lockout. On this day was late Aug, early September in **. Wasnt cold enough for a light jacket. $75 lockout fee was waived but not after being told multiple times it was on me. Still charged a service charged and had to pay technician almost $40. Today following about 2 weeks I was able to drive my vehicle to a location and then received another lockout this time the message indicated faulty device. Ive had this device in my car for only 2mo so far. Roadside assistance dose not cover service at your location at the time of incident. They only cover up to 15miles of towing service in which you will still be required to pay the technician. I have not received the amount it would cost to have the technician swap the faulty device but assuming its going to be more than $40. You are essentially paying for any additional charges for faulty devices and the lack of accountability on intoxalock end to make sure their devices will allow you to stay in compliance without interference with your day to day activities.

They take a lot more money than said. It drained a new battery. The hand set was faulty. Had to get my car towed twice. At the end I was charged almost $300 to get it taken out. Same to put in.

So far I've had a terrible experience with this company. I started getting lockouts about a year and it's been a constant battle trying to get the issue fixed. At first my car would refuse to start at random times such as after pumping gas or after leaving the store. The device would go into sync mode which i would have to wait for the countdown to finish then it would display a comm and ERR message. I would have to call them every time and every time they would walk me through steps for disconnecting the battery and the device which made the car start. This went on for a few months gaining lockout fees and inspections/ calibrations being done every other few days or at least once a week for months until their process refused to eventually work.During that time they claimed to not be recieving data from my device/vehicle even sending me bills from last year whereby i drive to and from work daily. I filled for a hearing with the registry and they didn't have the time and insisted i purchase a newer vehicle since my 08 ********** has high mileage. At this point an intoxalock mechanic found the module to be"fried" and intoxalock replaced the module and entire equipment. Immediately after the installment my car would not start again this time from the ignition with the device assuming the car is on whereby it isn't.I purchased another vehicle and my hearing for another equipment installation turned into a suspension hearing.Turns out intoxalock did not report that my car was in maintenance when apparently i missed a few retest. After being allowed to install the device after a long day with the registry, my new car started giving module failure and other failure lights and their device would go into lockout every time i turned off the car. They rewired the car 3 times in 3 weeks and one month after purchasing the vehicle it became undriveable. Both cars are at intoxalock mechanic and they insist that both vehicles are fault not their *********'s been 21 months 3 more????.

To start this off I did receive 2 DUIs within a five year period and was deserving of punishment, however, this company INTOXALOCK and their policies lockouts and fees I feel is more criminal than my actions of receiving the ***** They put punishment at an overkill status to the point where it feels like this process will be a never ending part of my life. my DUIs were both due to a prescription drug habit I had, not due to alcohol and in fact the last alcoholic beverage I had I believe was 2 years ago on New Years Eve. Ive had the device for 7 long, miserable, very expensive months. I have been on lockout status multiple times but not once for alcohol but rather eating pizza? I gained 2 lockouts for pizza. Its a false positive reading but carrys the same penalties as alcohol regardless! they cant add additional time to your year until the 3rd lockout so I wasnt too worried and paid the fees. Then my alternator went out on my car- alternator keeps the battery charged - and if battery isnt charged the breathalyzer loses power and they considered it tampering with the device! Even after thoroughly explaining the situation and providing receipts from the alternator replacement they still stuck me with a couple more lockouts at $75 each and now I will have my time extended past the original year deadline. I was told and I QUOTE you were irresponsible because you didnt look and check your battery gauge before attempting to start your vehicle I thought the agent was joking with me but he wasnt! As of October 1st I now owe Intoxalock a total of $350 - $66 being my normal bill and the rest lockouts/fees for alternator replacement! Hindsight is 20/20 if I had to do this over I would never have gone with INTOXALOCK! Please all the newbies out there heed my advice, read all the complaints against this company online, ****** how many class action lawsuits people are trying to file against this company, do the research and go with any other company - NOT INTOXALOCK

This company is a total fraud and rip off. Over the course of my 5 years with the company, I have been through several batteries and alternators. This company / device has left my stranded on the side of the ride countless times in the middle of winter. The customer service representatives suggestion was to keep the device warm in an "oven mit" to avoid it from freezing and stranding me. After all of the issues and over $7,000 later I have completed my 5 - years of having an *** installed in my car. Currently, I am trying to have the device removed but ********************** is requesting a form that doesn't exist (removal authorization letter from ***). *** has confirmed that the driving restrictions have been lifted and there is no need to have the *** installed in my vehicle as full driving privileges have been restored. Countless ours have been spent on the phone (mostly on hold) with intoxalock and at the *** trying to get the correct paperwork to have the device unistalled.

The business is garbage. The only way to talk to foreigners on your account is to push button for lock out. This company is garbage! It's worth zero stars!
