I was attempting to change my address. I went to a website that was disguised as the **** website. It looked identical. I have done a change of address before and this form looked the exact same. When it asked me to enter credit card info I expected it to be for the $1 or so the post office charges. Then the page just said thanks and nothing happened. I got an email confirming my address change and checked my bank account. Almost $100 was taken out of my account for a temporary address change. I was not sent any kind of receipt for my "purchase." ************ has no contact info and there is no record of them. They stole $100 from me and are stealing from other Americans trying to deal with the stress of moving too. We are a military family and this company just stole our money pretending to be a US office. The company "Postal Address Change Services" needs to be stopped and held accountable for the money they are stealing.Initial Complaint

On 10-21-22 I used a postal change service it looked like the USPS website. I was charged $99.95 without my knowledge or consent. I receieved a confirmation email but no price included that $99.95 was charged. I was expecting a $1.10 charge I called the number provided in my statement found out it was not the USPS but a company called Adrdress Change Services 888-277-0780. I called this number no represenative to talk to. The company recording gives the opportunity for 40% or $80 refund but does not follow through then hangs up. This is a scam.Initial Complaint

Change of address on the USPS website doesn't work, I called the 1800 number for USPS and a young lady that answered the phone informed me that they are aware that something is wrong with with website and she walked me thought the process on my cell phone. I was able to submit the request. I checked my bank account and saw that I was charged $99.95 for the change of address. I contacted the USPS 1800 number and they told me that i had gone through a third party website and that they were sorry but there is nothing they can do. If the USPS is aware of third party is doing this then they should have some kind of warning on the USPS website. There is no way of knowing that you are going to be changed more then you agree. The USPS is part of the problem and part of the Theft that is happening. All they can do is apologize, well $99.95 might not be a lot of money to them it is for some people especially in todays economy. I would like to know why USPS doesn't do anything to help with SCAMS like this, I'm not asking for them to get rid of third party websites but at least let the users know that there are other websites and that you might be changed more them $1.10. There is no warning, this is THEFT and the USPS is aware of the issue.Initial Complaint
