On three separate occasions they gave me outrageously high quotes. The first joke was $7,400.00 for an ejector sump pump that I replaced for $911.00. The second one was for an electrical job and the other for air conditioning. When I had the light fixture and air conditioner checked out by reputable professionals, there was nothing wrong with either of them. They are nothing but con artists who try to take advantage of the elderly! There motto on television is call *** and "consider it done". Upon waking this morning I found my outside water faucet running and I could only stop it to a trickle. Since I am a priority client of *** Plumbing I called them before 9 a m this morning and they said someone would be there shortly. It is now 10 hours later and 6 phone calls and no one has showed up. They said they called and left 4 voicemails when they didnt. Im 70 years old and I cannot deal with being pushed around and told lies. Ive never been lied to so many times by a company in all my life. Their commercials do NOT live up to their promises. I need your help resolving this debacle ASAP. I cant keep running outside to empty the bucket from the water which has flooded my side yard. AND my water bill will be astronomical because of them. We called *** because we had an issue with lights flickering in our home. The technician arrived Sunday morning and took over 3 hours to complete what he called "an extensive diagnosis of the home". Not only was this diagnosis incorrect but he tried charging ** $13,000 to replace our entire electrical system. He stated that this project was dire and we needed to complete this as soon as possible in order to keep ourselves and our home safe. Luckily my brother is a contractor and has many reputable colleagues who were able to give ** second, third and fourth opinions which were all opposite of the one given by ***. In fact, the issue was a faulty transformer in our area. We are STILL fighting with *** because they are insisting we pay a $400 fee for their "diagnosis" even though they quoted ** $50 dollars over the phone when we called to schedule the appointment. I will not be paying *** for their FRAUDLENT AND DECEPTIVE practices. Avoid this company at all costs. I am truly shocked they are still in business. Since they were offering discounts for furnace and AC tune-*** last year, I cancelled my membership. The discounted rates were less than a years worth of monthly membership fees, so it made sense to cancel. However, I missed the reminders calls to schedule yearly tune-***, so I decided to rejoin. When I called to inquire about rejoining, I was told to wait until I was ready to set up a furnace tune-up and I could do it that day and the membership would begin the moment, and I would not be charged for tune-up.When the technician arrived, I explained to him that I wanted to rejoin the *********************** again. I told him I would call in my credit card information by phone (The technicians seem to wait a month before they submit paper work and I wanted the payment submitted that day.) So I called the office, they took the payment. I told the technician the office took my payment, but he insisted I needed to pay him. Not only did he ask for my credit card, but he took a picture of it from his iPad and duplicated the charge. I called the office after he left and told them what he had done. While they were following up with him, I checked my credit card charges, sure enough, I was double charged. I cancelled my credit card because he had taken a picture of it and called back the office to tell them what happened. They said they would refund the money, It's been almost 2 months and they have not. They are now telling me that my membership will not start for 6 months and that they will waive the tune-up costs, that was suppose to be free and accept my membership overpayment as a reduced payment for tune-up. There was no verbal or paper documentation that there is a 6 month waiting period for membership to begin, and I was told membership would began immediately, and the last time I joined, my service fee was discounted the day I applied for the ************** membership. I had a heating and cooling maintenance contract with **** On one of their visits to check my heating system, the technician told me that there was a problem with the inducer motor and needed to be replaced at a cost of $2,000. First of all, $2,000 to replace an inducer motor? What a rip off!But since I have a home warranty policy, I declined and called my home warranty company. They send a technician from another local company and found NOTHING WRONG with the inducer motor.So basically, *** was trying to rip me off by selling me unnecessary repairs.This is so unprofessional and dishonest. They scam me 400 which they didnt fix anything I went with a second opinion that the repair was only 20 dollars. all my outlet are in good condition. We had been customers for 14 years, but after our latest incident, we would like people to be aware of some of the shady practices that occur . Our disposal was not running. As advantage club members, we called them to come out and take a look. The technician said we needed to replace it with a new one. The cost of the new disposal would be $900! That is the only disposal they sell. We said no and called a handyman who fixed it with a wrench in 2 minutes. That was last summer and it still works fine. We saved almost a thousand dollars for nothing. After we let the company know how we felt, they send a an *** gift card and a restaurant certificate to placate us. We cancelled our club membership at $34 per month. Over 14 years that is quite a bit of money. Even though we cancelled last September, they said they had no record of the cancellation and we were still billed every month. I must be the biggest sucker for dealing with this company for so long. Called *** because I am an ************** member to add another hard wired smoke alarm in my basement. The distance from the existing alarm the new alarm would be tied to was approximately 5 feet. I offered to supply the conduit, wire and alarm unit needed for the job. The quote for the job was more than $1,000. I called another electrical service company for a quote. They arrived at 8am the next morning and performed the job in one hour for $225. Called *** out to fix a leaking sink drain in a tenant's unit that I could not attend to that day. The plumber who came out called and said there was a corroded joint causing the leak, that he had the replacement part on his truck and that it would take less than an hour to fix. At that point he quoted us $1,015 to make the fix. I was astounded at the price figure for such a simple and routine fix and proceeded to ask how this was calculated. He tried to overcomplicate it by describing each part of the drain assembly that he was going to swap out (these are all sold as a single kit at *********** and related that he has to put in a job code which puts out the job cost. I have since spoken to several other plumbers and contractors who have all agreed that this fix should not have exceeded a couple hundred dollars. The following day it cost me less than $50 at ********** to pick up the part and complete the fix myself in ~1hour.
