Stericycle and my business had a contract executed in July of 2023. I had once service for sharps pick up and have been charged monthly with no further pick-**** I was told that there were no resources to speak to management or cancel my contract due to a new contract that I was not informed of in pending status with no date of service in sight.Business Response

My name is ******************************, CSO Identifyn LLC a research laboratory located in ******** *******. We contracted Stericycle to handle our BSL2 lab waste. They were quick to send contracts, and pricing and active in enrolling us, after this they failed to make regular pick **** We have documented countless emails and calls to both the account rep and the main customer service number. Neither ever answered or returned calls. Finally with two months passed we were forced, as there was no contact at all, to call another service as stericycle failure was creating a health and safety concern for us and bio hazard must be removed per our license and health and safety operating plan. This was not optional while continued to wait. Our CEO ******************* finally reached out and again nothing, he let them know via VM we had to find alternate arrangements. Just two days later, after finding out we had found a service provider that was reliable, stericycle began flooding our emails with pick up notices and then sent a driver for pick up, now 3 months later, the drive insisted we sign he was there, we did, but emailed again the account rep- they continue to show up before our stated hours, per the contract and leave notes we were closed they couldnt pick up - now they are billing us near 4k dollars. This company operates fraudulently and if they can ignore customers, create biohazard safety concerns and then harass us now into forcing us to pay them. We wanted to cancel our account before the annual renewal 8/15/2023. We called and emailed multiple times prior to renewal but STILL were charged for the renewal.Several emails were sent and continue to be sent with no resolution and ZERO follow up. I have asked for supervisors and supervisor's supervisor to call me and still nothing and no contact. I hired this company for medical waste removal and I have been paying for services monthly. They absolutely never send anyone for pickups and their customer service is beyond awful. Anytime Ive had an account manager they never reply to emails or calls. I call customer service and ask to talk to management and they always say theyve left for the day. Honestly, this is the worst customer service I have ever had with a company that is supposed to be professional. I have a huge build-up of medical waste, and they has said they they would drop off new containers with pickup since this customer service has been so horrible and then nobody ever shows up for a pickup. This company is fraudulent at this point. They are taking money and providing NO service and they have ZERO customer service. I have no idea how this company is in business. I have medical waste and sharps containers overflowing and nobody ever replies via phone call/email or any other form of communication. I would never recommend this company in a million years. I dont even know what to do at this point because nobody will pick up and nobody will even respond to complaints or to cancel my account. They are stealing from businesses and providing health hazards by violating OSHA standards for medical companies. Run when considering who you do medical waste business with.Business Response

I had an established contract with Stericycle to provide the platform for HIPAA training for my employees. Stericycle changed their platform and format in Aug of 2023 and it no longer provided the information that I required. On Sept 19, 2023, I spoke to an account specialist and cancelled my account with reference number Ref ********. I then received a bill for Oct despite the cancellation. I spoke to **** and to ********************* in early Oct who told me that a mistake was made in billing and my account had not actually been cancelled but should now be taken care of. The bill remained on my account despite numerous phone calls and emails. In early Nov, I was billed another $65/mo and told my account is past due. I spoke to Rich yet again and was told that it would be taken care of. The $65 for Oct was removed but the Nov amount still remains on my account. I cannot get them to respond to this or to take care of it. Not only are their customer service techniques terrible but the fraudulent billing practices are unacceptable.Business Response

I am a customer of Steri-Cycle. In July 2023, the company increased my price and stated I signed a new contract for services of which I did not. In August I was in contact with ************************* of whom I explained the situation and was told his supervisor would look at my account to make changes and credit my account. On 8/31/23 I was contacted by ************************* stating I needed to sign the new contract for my old billing amount before 9/1/23, I signed a corrected contract with ************************* who assured me my account would be changed back and my account would be credited. I have a copy of the updated contract. The change was not activated and in the month of September I again called Steri-cycle and spoke with another customer service rep because my monthly charge increased significantly, explained the situation and again was told someone, either ****** or the supervisor would contact me with a resolution. Again no one contacted me. On 10/23/23, I spoke with *********************. She investigated the forms, told me the system must of lost my docusign document. I emailed her the contract. I have contacted the company on multiply occasions to only be told the supervisor will be in contact of which there has been no follow up on their part and I continue to be charged for a service I never agreed upon. we had a business account with **********************. We requested a cancellation in June of 2023. we paid the liquidated damages back in sept. we continue to get a monthly bill. Every month i have to call so they can credit the money and cancel the account. The account rep. ******* is never available to speak with me and is apparently the only one that can help me. I am rejecting this response because:Stericycle has continually sent the same response. That is has been corrected and the account has been credited. I need them to close the account and to stop sending fraudulent invoices. They wouldn't have to continue to credit this account if they closed the account and stop charging our company for services not performed. I find it absurd that this account was closed in May of 2023 and yet Stericycle can't figure out how to cancel it and stop billing for non existent services. I would like to pursue this to the furthest extent possible with BBB as I do not believe that our company should have to deal with this every month. My part-time job has become to deal with this and repeat the same process every month.
This file I attached is too large. I can email else where if needed. I includes all the emails from stericycle stating that the issue has been resolved. There are so many that it wouldn't upload.

I am rejecting this response because: I have been told, over the course of several months, many times that this has been resolved. I have also received countless emails stating that this has been resolved. These emails correspond to when the BBB has reached out to Stericycle regarding the complaint. The same action is taken again and again. Stericycle will send an email stating resolution, yet after 30 days I receive a new invoice (fraudulently) as they haven't provided us with any services since June 2023. We originally cancelled this account in May of 2023, and paid the liquidated damages. We have been going round and round since then.Stericycle just sending me one more email letting me know they have taken care of the issue is of no resolution to me. I have asked time and again for a letter showing the account was closed with and appropriate supervisor or manager, a screen shot showing the account was closed or some sort of evidentiary proof. An email from customer solutions representative will just no longer suffice given the longevity of this issue.
I am requesting a written statement from the owner, or someone in that capacity at Stericycle letting me know that our account has been cancelled and that we will no longer be receiving any invoices. I also do not want to receive another invoice next month and begin this process once again. I believe Stericycle has wasted enough of my time and we should be provided some sort of compensation given the facts presented.

We signed a contract with Stericycle for sharps disposal for our veterinary hospital start up business. On the first invoice, I observed that we were being billed $60 per month for SQ path and chemo disposal. I immediately contacted Stericycle and spoke with ******************* explaining that I do not and never have had chemotherapy on the premises. She said if I resigned the contract immediately removing the SQ path and chemo service that I would be reimbursed for August and September and it would be removed from my invoices. I resigned the contract on 8/18/23. I have continued to be charged monthly $60 extra for this charge that was supposed to be removed from my invoice. I have called multiple times to alert them of this issue. Their response is to be patient and they have changed their system since September but it continues to be an issue. No pick up of sharps has happened. I am I quarterly pick up and originally listed our hours of operation. They can to pick up on our half day when we were closed. I then emailed to terminate my service over a month ago as per the requirements of my contract to *******************. There was no reply and they have yet to terminate my service. Everytime I can to move forward with termination I am told the agent ( ****************, **********************************- a senior customer service agent) is unable to terminate our contract and someone will be in touch. No one calls back or emails. I feel strongly that this is a skem to continue to charge my business incorrectly and ignore my request to terminate my service.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I have asked several times for a timeline as to when to expect confirmation regarding my request for terminating service due to lack of communication and continuation of being charged for SQ path and chemo disposal despite resigning a contract removing the service in August. I was told several times that I would be reimbursed for the continued charge of $60 per month for chemo disposal from August to current date by *********************** originally. There has been no correspondance by any account specialist since. Everytime I call to try to resolve the issue of my reimbursement and obtain confirmation of my termination of service, I am put on hold for 50+ minutes and then told my an account specialist that they cannot help me (**********************************, *******************************, *******************). The last correspondance that I received which appeared to be a generic message indicated that the SQ path and chemo have been removed from my bill; 3 months after the request was made. This is not a resolution as I am wanting to terminate service and the company is stalling on termination and reimbursement of the money I have continued to be charged for.
