I started as a plasma "donor" (seller) for Biolife's New Donor promotion of completing 8 donations in 30 days for $800. My first visit to Biolife was on April 6, 2024. I was there for over 3 hours during my first visit and was only able to complete my intake survey and physical. When I met with the nurse during my physical she explained a little bit about how payments worked and how as I continued to get closer to my 8th donation I would be getting paid more. My first "donation" was on April 11th. I knew that the first few payments were going to be smaller and that they would increase as I continued to donate. But as I progressed my payments did not. By my 4th donation I felt like something was wrong with my payments. I talked to a manager, who was VERY rude, but she told me their nurse had not put in the coupon code but she would contact promotions and get it sorted out. I came in for my 5th donation and checked my balance afterwards to find that nothing had been fixed. At that point I filled out a form on Biolifes website (as there are no phone numbers to call..). I got a response a few days later advising me to again talk to a manager at the location and it will all be sorted out. So I went in before my 6th donation to talk with the manager. At this point she (again very rudely) informed me that they would NOT backlog any of my payments but if I wanted I could start over with the process they would count my 6th donation as my first. This was not the agreement that I signed up for and it was very difficult for me to complete the 8 donations in 30 days with my own work and life schedule on top of the donation stipulations. So I walked out on my 6th donation and again filled out a form to contact Biolife. I sent that last form on April 24th and have yet to get a response from them.Initial Complaint

On May 2nd I was here for almost 4 hours. I was expecting to get paid $90 for lapse donor. Im always polite to everyone. Ive been donating for almost 6 years so I know and understand the process. The person that stuck me missed my vein (which happens) ok so I got restuck and it still wasnt fixed. Usually someone more experienced comes to re-stick so I asked for a manger. She came and watch the whole process but said she couldnt stick me because she was working in the lab but she stay there the whole time. They asked to use my left arm I said only if youre confident because that is a smaller vein. I shouldnt have to go through a butchering process like Im an animal just to receive what I am owed. With that, the manger said I didnt have to use my other arm that I would still get paid SHE NEVER CLARIFIED HOW MUCH! So I went back and forth trying to understand why wasnt my payment on my card. I talked to a manger that finally explained. Shavonte that I wasnt clear on whenever it is she thought she told me. He told me I would get paid out. Than called me on a Saturday and changed his mind, I continued to be persistent and explained that I felt there business is unprofessional he agreed to pay me and told me I would see the money in 10mins. Again he lied and disrespectfully sent me $5. At this point Im outraged. I called all morning and didnt get anyone. So I used my gas once again to travel up there on a Sunday demanding my payout. Again he gave the same excuses. At this point Im triggered feel mocked and toyed with and beyond upset. I still havent received my payment. ******** told me three times the I would get the extra $70. And I did not! This is the most unprofessional inconvenience inconsiderate experience I have EVER experienced. Things in the past have happened but if a manager that represents a multi-million dollar company agrees to pay the donor than that is what has always been understood. tricking the consumer to come into their facility, to then extract exorbitant amounts of info. only to then tell the person they are not eligible to donate. They took my drivers lic. pic, my s.s. card photo, my photo, spun my blood, made me answer 100 + questions & took tons of info. only to be told 2 full hrs. later I couldn't donate due to my medication! Hi went in November of 2023 to see if i qualify as a donor for plasma at bio life in ******* ca. the girl who helped me had said they do not pull plasma from tattoos. I said ok and went about my way . I recently read on the website that they do in fact pull from tattoo area as long as its not a new tattoo. So I decided to go in today 4/17/24 . The center itself looks a little rough compared to the last time I was there . I could see other people private personal information on the screens and phones were out !! When it was my turn the vitals lady said scan in when ever. I explained it had been some moths and I didnt get to donate last time but I was checked in and dont remember the finger I used. She rolled her eyes and said why didnt I remember I apologized said its been since November. She needed help she could not apparently log into a system she needed to look me up none of the vital check in people could log in they had to use someone elses information to do it I know this because they were very loud about it. I the girl is having a hard time so she calls a supervisor who immediately takes me to a different spot does a vain check says let me get a nurse . Mind you two men came in full sleeved and they took them no problem. One girl says yes the other two say no they do not pull through a tattoo . I informed them it is very old and it was faded white ink. Then they call another lady who takes one look at me says no they are not allowed to . Today on April 16,2024 I went into BioLife to see what was wrong with my account ( it would not let me schedule an appointment) I went in and ended up speaking with a nurse. He told me that it was a tattoo that I had not disclosed (which had not been the case). I told him I came in that day and talked to a nurse then. They told me that it had been long enough since when I had gotten the tattoo to when I could donate again. So they PROCEEDED TO LET ME DONATE AND TOLD ME IT WAS OKAY SINCE IT HAD BEEN LONG ENOUGH. I come back today and he tells me that I can no longer donate to any BioLife because of that situation which I feel that I should not be punished for because their employees didnt do the math correctly. Staff at BioLife are ***** criminals. A couple of months ago I had words with a supervisor who disliked New Yorkers and tried to have me removed on false accusations made by her until one of her higher *** reviewed the cameras at my request finding her accusations against me false and overrode her call to have me removed. From that day onwards she has had her female friends who work there prevent me from obtaining money donating plasma making false claims like my iron is too low as they did today contradicting the results from my lumbar puncture and blood tests done by Nebraska Medicine. I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the services provided by Biolife. Despite repeated attempts to address my concerns, I have encountered significant obstacles and negligence on the part of Biolife's management.First and foremost, Biolife has consistently failed to respond to my email inquiries regarding their services and the complications I experienced during my recent visit. As a customer, I expect timely and respectful communication, yet Biolife has demonstrated a complete disregard for my concerns.Furthermore, my recent experience at Biolife resulted in serious harm to my arm, for which I have received no explanation or compensation. This negligence has caused me undue pain and financial burden, further exacerbating my frustration with Biolife's lack of accountability and professionalism.It is clear to me that Biolife is poorly run, with inadequate support systems in place to address customer inquiries and negligence in ensuring the safety and well-being of its clients. I urge the Better Business Bureau to investigate these issues thoroughly and hold Biolife accountable for its substandard practices.
