I've been a State Farm member for nearly 10 years, but their service, particularly for home insurance, has been appalling. During my time with them, I've had two home plumbing accidents, and each time they found fake reasons to escape covering the claim. They never help with claims and make the entire process incredibly frustrating. I'm now looking to change this unreliable company. Can anyone recommend a trusted insurance provider?

I was in an accident where a DUI driver hit me, and totaled my car (2025). I was taken to the trauma unit that night. Unfortunately, State Farm is my insurance provider. In a time of complete chaos, anxiety, and stress, State Farm has consistently undervalued my vehicle (by at least $4,000) leaving me with out of pocket expenses in order to get a comparable vehicle, which I cannot do unless I take out a loan (my car that was totaled was fully paid off). I sent in comps to State Farm showing multiple vehicles that showed that my current vehicle, same miles, and within an hour of me were selling for multiple thousands more than they gave me for my vehicle and they still denied my request. At this point, State Farm has caused me more stress and harm in a time that I am already dealing with these (both physical and mental) challenges due to the accident. I, at no fault, will be out thousands of dollar because my insurance company doesn't value me, my situation, and a fair reimbursement. State Farm has a duty to adjust its policyholder’s claim with good faith and fair dealing. I’d like at least my insurance company to treat me like the good neighbor they keep telling me I am, but this point, they are not, not even close. It is not surprising that their rating here is the worst it could be.

ZERO. Hope to God you never get in an accident with one of their clients. I can't get a phone call back from them. My car sat outside for over a week in -30 degree temps because the shop couldn't release my car until state farm paid. The shop couldn't get a hold of them. State Farm finally scheduled an appraiser AFTER all the fixes were done. The shop missed some scratches on the bumper, and since I couldn't get a response from State Farm, I paid out of pocket to get my car back and now they won't pay for the scratches that are all the way through the paint. They did, however, pay for a crappy rental for the two weeks it took them to finally approve the estimate. The rental probably cost more than the damages. I would have rather sued the guy for the $ rather than go through State Farm. It seems like they are instructed to deny claims or make it difficult to collect any sort of payment.

I filed a claim on July 8th 2025. Today 02/17/2025 my house is still in shambles. I have been thru 5 insurance adjusters and still no final outcome on my house. The adjusters come to my house and agree on the damage, say they will go back and write it up according to what we discussed. The minute they get back to their office the claim changes NOTHING they agreed upon with me is written up. They completely change what we had discussed and what they told me they would cover. This is a true bait and switch. This is so horrible that my husband and I are living in these conditions for the past 7 months and they don't care. I am sure they would care if I had not paid my premium for the past 7 months. They need to be reported to the Insurance Authority.
They are not even covering things that are covered in my policy. Never get State Farm The President of this company was at A******* and his policy is deny deny deny, until they insured gets tired of reclaiming. This is a horrific company that DOES NOT HAVE YOUR BACK.

Filed a claim with them for weather damage to my home only a couple years of living in my home due to freezing rain and high winds. Adjuster came out after making us wait 4 addition weeks after they told me they said they would send someone out asap and immediately said no it's definitely just wear and tear and there was nothing they could do. Have had roofing companies, general contractors and foundation companies out to my home all stating they were lying and it is 100% without a doubt weather damage and they should be covering the repairs. Now have water coming in my home from multiple locations and again with the weather being so bad they again are dragging their feet. My agent wont answer my calls or texts. And they have no urgency to assist me with getting this repaired and worked out. I will never be using them again for homeowners as long as I live. Once they fix this house I am leaving them as a customer for good. Absolutely no common sense in that company what so ever.

State Farm is the absolute worst company I’ve ever dealt with. A minor accident has resulted in my vehicle being at the shop for a month and a half with still no completion date in sight. Appraisers haven’t shown up to appointments to look at it and multiple supplements have had to happen because the lack of getting an accurate diagnosis and the correct parts ordered by their incapable appraisers. I would never back this business and would encourage you to go with another insurance carrier.

I initially contacted Adam Jurs State Farm Agency on 11/26/24 to ask about a premium increase. After a brief text exchange, they suggested a call on 12/5/24, which I declined, proposing 12/6/24 instead. They never responded, so I followed up on 12/5/24.
On 12/9/24, after my review, Adam Jurs reached out and scheduled a call for 12/7/24. Quite quickly he accused me of including "incorrect information" in my review. He focused more on the review itself than on actual customer service, even mentioning that he’s "OCD" about reviews. He also said my review made a team member and disclosed her name. When I apologized, he responded "that's what happens when you post something on a public forum." which was unprofessional and inappropriate.
When I asked about my premium increase during the call, he couldn’t provide an answer—despite having requested the call himself.
I sent Adam a screenshot that documented the communication disconnect between the State Farm representative and asked him to review it however he ignored my evidence entirely. The day after the call Adam sent me a screenshot of his laptop as proof of his earlier claims but again ignored the screenshot I had provided.
His text message to me—"What are you talking about? As I stated. WE responded. I can't take the fact you didn't receive a secured message from us" demonstrated an unwillingness to engage constructively.
On 1/4/25, Adam directly threatened me with legal action. He also mocked my review as "feelings" while insisting he "stands by his character" making it clear that he sees no issue with his own disrespectful and unprofessional behavior towards his own customers.
My review is based on direct quotes, screenshots, and documented interactions. His threats, behavior and mockery of his own customers further reinforce my concerns about his priorities and approach to customer relations. This behavior is unprofessional, disappointing and concerning coming from a "trusted" insurance provider.
