1 starDuring our stay at the Hyatt *****************, we encountered a significant security issue. Our room was broken into while we were out for breakfast. According to management, an older homeless individual managed to access the 18th floor and enter our room during this brief period and was not detected by any of the staff or security cameras. Not even by housekeeping, who was on the floor for the entirety of the time we were gone. After discovering the theft, we immediately reported it to hotel security. Surprisingly, the police were not called by the hotel staff; instead, we found the security team discussing the matter with the general manager downstairs. After waiting over 10 minutes without police presence, we took the initiative to come downstairs. Using the "Find My iPad" feature, I located the stolen items at a cafe about 0.5 miles from the hotel. It was only then that the general manager decided to involve a bellhop, and they set off to the cafe.We had to call the police ourselves, which was unexpected given the circumstances. The recovery of our iPad and MacBook by the hotel staff, before police involvement, felt both surreal and orchestrated. They refused to hand over the security footage to the police, there was a lot of whispering, and the general manager was nowhere to be seen after the police arrived. This incident raises serious questions about the security protocols at the Hyatt Regency Rochester and the staff's initial response to such a severe security breach. Many valuable and sentimental items were lost. This breach has severely undermined our trust in the safety measures at the hotel, affecting our perception of the Hyatt brand as a whole. We are reconsidering our future bookings with Hyatt and are in discussions with their executive management. Given the severity of this negligence, we are also exploring legal options. For potential guests, please be aware of our experience and consider the security implications of your stay.Review fromAnna M

2 starsI was told that I would get a refund for my stay and never have received a refund. I was issued a room when I arrived and the staff knew the air was out but I was issued the room anyway. I called to see if there was another room available but they said no and the best they could do was to get my air hopefully fixed the next day. They did get my air fixed the next day and assured me I would be refunded at checkout. That did not happen even though I was promised.Review fromJonathan D

1 starResort (Hyatt Brand Resort). This is a review about booking with ***************************). We recently booked thru a travel agent (who I have used for 20 years) for our trip to *****************************. With me only wanting to get the best price I check different sites daily. Often to see if the price gets reduced by Secrets for the rooms. I have been able to save in the past by doing this when the room price goes down. The other day when I searched an ad came up. So I searched Kayak which led me to Priceline. Priceline had the room I booked for the same dates but a $1,000 less than the Hyatt/Secrets websites or any other site. And the room as I write this review is still less. With that being said, I called my travel agent to see if Secrets would match the price. On Hyatts website, they have a Price Match Guarantee. When my travel agent called and the person she spoke to was very helpful and they said they would look into my reservation. Secrets then rejected the price match because they said the offer needed to be apples to apples. The reason why the price match was rejected was that Secrets offers a refund up until 3 days before your trip and Priceline refund is a 4 day policy. Talk about a BS reason. I believe Secrets is just saying that not to match the price. I am a very loyal person. I could simply book with Priceline but I feel that my travel agent has spent a lot of time on this matter. She has helped us thru this whole process and I will not sacrifice her commission because of Secret's crappy policy. This is the whole reason why I am writing this review to let others know to check Priceline before booking directly with Secrets.Review fromRobert H

1 starDo NOT sign up for a timeshare with Hyatt. Regardless of what they call it, the customer service is HORRIBLE, and youre trapped until you pay tens of thousands of dollars to line their pockets on a scam. We still owe a few thousand dollars and are still on the hook until the end of next year. Learn from our mistakes. You have no advocates in Hyatt. That department is a lie. You can offer a settlement, but theyre greedy enough to want every cent. This is nothing but a scam. You cant book any dates. Fees increased every year. You cannot rent it, sell it, give it away, walk away. This is how they treat veterans. Were out thousands, and they only care about money. Spend your money elsewhere. Shame on HyattReview fromJaime W

1 starWe have just returned home from staying at the Secrets in Saint ****** and have never been so disappointed in our lives. We have paid astronomical rates for a 1 star resort at best. The resort is in utter disrepair- the staff is not friendly at all and you feel like you are bothering them to ask them for anything. The ************** is an absolute joke.I have photos of every safety hazard. Theres nothing exceptional or any benefit to being a Prefered Member except the private bar which provides horrible service and no one is ever around to help you. We often stand in the room with other guests for several minutes waiting on staff to come around. All of the included promotions were promised to us and NONE of them were upheld !Most of the restaurants are not open. Theres no entertainment AT ALL. The Sundial daily calendar is full of events that dont exist. The theatre is permanently closed. The sports bar is permanently closed. Neither of those are told to you when you book and you are actually told the opposite. Theres only one place to eat for breakfast and only two restaurants to choose from at night while the others are closed and there is no indication why.The pool is never cleaned and absolutely filthy with trash and debris from god knows how long ago floating in it. There are tables flipped over on the pool deck and chairs and benches near the lobby area fallen over and not a single employee fixes them. They all just walk past them. The pool area bar was miserable and no one was ever around to serve you. The entire resort was overrun by Day Passers who were obnoxious and smoked everywhere making it completely unenjoyable. If we could have, we would have left on the first night and flown back home to *****************. I want a refund on this trip. I can not believe this is how Hyatt treats their guests and lets them stay in filth like this and has the audacity to call this a resort. No one from the resort or Hyatt will respond to calls or emailsReview fromRick E

1 starStopped in the Hyatt on ************ ****** ** for a drink at the bar. Two gray goose martinis were $56.00 - that's right, $28 each. Told the bartender I have never paid that much for a martini but that didn't seem to matter. I didn't take it out on him as he is most likely just doing what he is instructed to do. I have been there before and have never seen prices like this. I suspect they jacked up the prices because it was Easter weekend. Won't see me there again. Not sure why I am bothering with this review as reading the others tell me they don't respond nor do they care.Review fromPaul M

1 starINSTITUTION OF *************** The following events took place at daughters wedding. We spent more than $50K for 1 week.1. Upon arrival, we were pressured 4 times to attend a sales pitch for a timeshare scheme. Exchanged heated before hotel finally backed down. 2. Assigned room had stench of bleach. Within 2 days my husband fell ill with sinus infection resulting from mold, which bleach attempted to mask. 3. *************** reservations for 13. Additional guest showed. We requested add, b/c table already set for 14. Host refused. Chef witnessed, said no problem. Host digs in. I offered not to eat. Host still refuses. In tears, I asked to escalate. A prologue for many more interactions. 4. Purchased Ultimate Wedding Package incl. 50 photos + album. Requested Bonfire event be shot instead of wedding. Photographer was no-show. Last day, wedding planner demanded we sign doc stating photo package DECLINED. We refused, b/c false. Photographer said he would rectify. No response. No photos, no album, no refund. 5. Wedding package included Newlywed Package incl. letter, fruit, champagne. B/c resort bungled reservations, the hotel delivers the Newlywed Package to the wrong room. We complained. Post-ceremony arrangement again goes to wrong room.6. We paid for Bridal Suite as dressing room. Planner interrupted wedding, demanding that we clear belongings or security would remove. Mother of Bride missed wedding photographs.7. Resort confused reservations charging for couple staying additional night, which we paid for. A guest decided to stay extra night. Despite this, hotel refused to allow we use for a different guest. Had to pay $400 more to room w/ other guests. This, after spending $50,000 w/ resort. Discussed w/ manager, promising to rectify. No response.Hyatt Secrets left us feeling devastated, humiliated, & cheated. We are ashamed we allowed Hyatt to deceive, ******* and abuse our family during this once-in-a-life occasion.Review fromCynthia M

1 starOwning a timeshare turns out to be an immense financial burden more backbreaking than you could ever imagine, especially with the relentless sales tactics they employ. We're squeezed dry and can't even think about purchasing more points, rendering it impossible for us to enjoy a family vacation, not even three measly rooms. They dangle the allure of "family vacations," but that's far from reality unless you keep buying into their scheme which we foolishly did, only to realize we're still stuck. And mind you, our family is not that large; we merely wanted quality time together.Every time we try to plan a trip, it's like chasing shadows forever unavailable. The endless **** for availability is nerve-wracking and disheartening, turning vacation planning into a gloomy chore instead of an exciting endeavor. They promise you'll see the world, but how can we afford plane tickets anywhere when our points mean nothing in real-world expenses? There are far better options out there for us to unite as a family without being shackled by exorbitant fees. Right now, these fees force us into further debt, compelling us to put them on credit just to stay afloat.Breaking free from this suffocating timeshare would bring us unparalleled peace of mind. We simply cannot bear the weight any longer and refuse to pass this burden onto our children enough is enough!Review fromCheyenne W

1 starI had the worst shuttle driver. The Hyatt is the stay of choice for many of the American Airline employees and have contracts with our pilots and flight attendants. I stayed at the Hyatt ******************** for the first three weeks then had to switch due to lack of availability for the next month of my stay. The hotel was great and clean but the shuttle service in the afternoons were terrible. One shuttle driver was rude and refused to let me on and yelled at me in front of other customers because he didnt know I had stayed there for a long period of time and was going back for business to see about availability for the last month of my stay. He also claimed he knew I was staying at another hotel which is immensely scary that he is tracking my whereabouts. I am extremely disappointed with this service and am outraged by how the Hyatt treats their customers. I have proof I stayed there for 19 nights and spent a chunk of money on this establishment just to be treated like this and refused service to get to the hotel.Review fromKate B

1 starOur vacation at Hyatts ************************ was a complete disaster and ended with the ** holding us and our luggage hostage. 1. We reserved our hotel through Hyatt channels and then were accused of misrepresenting our reservation despite confirming prior to our arrival (in writing) and checking in together. The ** indicated we needed to pay more due to higher occupancy. They took our luggage and said we could not leave until we paid them $1,056 more or miss the last boat to the mainland scheduled in just 15 minutes. 2. We confirmed prior to booking flights they could accommodate transportation for an 8:30am flight. Hyatt website says to book flights after 8:00am. The day before departure, we were told they couldn't accommodate our departure and we would need to leave within hours. We lost the rest of the day to obtaining alternate accommodations, coordinating transportation, changing our transportation for the original departure, and packing. We were left scrambling and all of the added expenses were our responsibility. 3. Hyatt marketing is misleading/false. Hyatt website claims the property is 5 stars, providing the best service with personal butlers until 11pm, maids 3x daily, and amenities tailored to your preferences. They send a preferences sheet ahead of your arrival. None of these services were fulfilled. Our room was not cleaned, mini bar not restocked and preference items not fulfilled. Free catamaran trips were not available as promised on their website. This experience warranted intervention from Hyatt. I filed a case. Despite reserving our accommodations through Hyatt, receiving confirmations from Hyatt, and every communication branded as Hyatt, Hyatt has chosen to skirt responsibility for this disastrous and criminal experience by saying they have no responsibility for Impressions properties. I received a single email from the property saying they would get back in touch with (me) shortly. After nearly a month, I've heard nothing.
