On January 1, 2025, we were involved in a car accident that was not our fault. The at-fault driver's insurance company, Kemper Insurance, is claiming they are only obligated to pay 80% of the claim. They are using a fabricated excusethat a truck turning into a parking lot supposedly blocked the drivers viewto justify this decision. However, this claim is untrue, there was no truck, and the driver never mentioned it when we pulled over to exchange information after the accident. Even if the drivers view had been obstructed by a truck, they remain fully responsible for causing the accident. Despite our efforts, we have been unable to get Kemper Insurance to reimburse us in full, and there appears to be no clear recourse available. Additionally, they informed us that they submitted a claim to our insurance company without our consent. We did not request this, as it would require us to pay a $500 deductible and could lead to a rate increase for filing a claim.Business Response

My car was hit by someone insured by Kemper Insurance. I filed a new claim with Kemper and followed their instructions to visit their designated repair shop for an estimate. After the estimate was completed, they said they would contact me. In the meantime, I also went to my own repair shop and obtained another estimate. However, a long time has passed, and no one has contacted me. I have called them a lot, and they always promise to get back to me the same day, but I have never received a response.Business Response

Their driver was at fault there is a video cam and that was included in the accident police report the driver admitted fault to the police the driver texted us and said he is liable for the accident yet Ms. ****** the adjuster refused to accept the dash cam as evidence despite it was taken as evidence in the police report the company refuses to pay for my damaged to my car and is dragging their feet and said I have to wait until Jan 20th and only if the driver says he is liable for the accident I proved them with text message showing the driver said he is liable from his cell phone yet Ms. ****** said without him saying his full name on the text we cannot verify despite it is his cell phone number. The game playing is ludicrous how Kemper is refusing to get me a car rental and have my car repaired when the other driver is 100% at fault they have all the information and the ******* police report which includes the dash cam footageBusiness Response

I had a claim on December 11 at 2024. We spoke with an adjuster I believe about one time after that the insurance company did not get back to me regarding my claim fast-forward to January 9. My car is ready. No adjuster is available to speak, customer department hang up. The phone will have a claim but no adjuster to help you for weeks no communication no knowledge about your claim. I want my money back and this is the worst insurance company that *** ever dealt with. I would prefer to go to *******.Business Response

In July my car was hit while parked in my driveway so i called my insurance to make a claim, I was told that I have two options first I can do a claim with my insurance and paid a deductible and they will go after the other person insurance and the second option was for me to make a claim with the other person insurance. I choice option two and made a claim with the other person insurance but my insurance told me if I have any problems just let them know and they would take care of it. The other person insurance denied my claim and so from August until now no one from my insurance has called or email me back after I tried contacting them. And now the are trying to send me to collection. My car is still not fixed and I don't know what to do in this matter.Business Response

Thank You for your help I bought Kemper Insurance on 10/10/2024, policy number ***********. My name is *** *****, and my date of birth is **********. I received a phone call from Kemper to verify the information, and I provided the information. I am the only driver for the vehicle, and there have been no accidents or violations. But Kemper removed the good driver discount for no reason and increased my premium by $175, and I need to pay for it. I called Kemper serval times to fix the problem, but every time, they just let me wait for a few business days and found the balance was still there. Finally, I found a better company and canceled my Kemper policy. I paid $613.88 for a 6-month premium and canceled on 12/24/2024. I am supposed to get a $428 refund for the unused premium, but I only get a $243 refund. I asked Kemper; they said they automatically deducted the $175 from my refund. That is unacceptable; the $175 balance is because of their system error, and I am not supposed to pay for it. Also, they deducted the balance without my permission. I do not agree to pay for that, and Kemper does not have the right to pay it for me from my refund premium.I want Kemper to refund the $175 to me, and my mailing address is ********************************Business Response

Kemper constantly tried to bill me more than the broker freeway insurance quoted me. Kemper quoted me $60 per month and Kemper tried billing me almost $240. When I tried to make any changes to my policy they said they could not help me. Policy was sold through Infinity insurance. They refused to help me at Kemper customer service and told me I had to make any changes to my policy myself or go through the broker freeway insurance. It has been a total nightmare dealing with them 45 minutes hold times and a clown show that doesn't have any idea on what is going on with my policy. Kemper insured totaled my parked car and another vehicle on 9/30/24. There were no injuries. Kemper has been very difficult to reach and will not return phone calls. A few weeks ago I received a new adjuster and she said probably 2 more weeks. I reached out after 2 weeks and she is now on a 2 week vacation. I left a message with the supervisor and they did not call back. I just want to get this resolved. I had to rent cars out of pocket and it is financially draining.Business Response

I have a policy thru my ex husband who passed away October ******. This policy has been paid since 2015almost 10yrs.I have chosen not to continue with Kemper due to the rudeness of several staff members.I chose to cash out of this policy After THOUSANDS of dollars have been paid to this entity, they decided that my policy was only worth $1134.00. THOUSANDS was paid to them.I made my first attempt to collect whats mine on November *******, at that time they said I would receive an email within 5 dayscontaining the form that needs to be filled out. I never received it.. I called again on December 10, I was told the same thing Never received that either! Although I was told that I have to call Kemper 3 or more times before they do anythingI called again third time on December 30. This time they told me I have to wait an additional few more days to call them because I just called a month ago. If it was THEIR MONEY or they needed a paymenttheyd go into my bank account and take the payment out on the very day its due but because I am asking for what is mine they are dragging their feet and not caring about what I have to say they insist on policies.. well their policy says I have to wait 5 days not 5 weeks.After so much money was paid to them I feel they should reimburse me everything I have paid since 2015. On 11/11/24 my vehicle was damaged by a Kemper Insurance customer. He stated it was his fault. And the police report shows it was his fault. My adjuster has been very difficult to contact by phone. And does not want to communicate by email. I prefer email, since her phone connection is terrible. My vehicle is scheduled to go into the shop soon. I am having difficulties finding out information on loaner vehicles, while it is in the shop. No one will return my calls, about this. I need a loaner that will be able to accommodate a folding wheelchair to transport my mother to doctor's appointments. From what I have read on the web, they will only cover $30 a day, and I will have to wait to be reimbursed. From my research, it will be difficult to find a vehicle for that price. I feel that they should cover a comparable vehicle, for the full time, that it is in the shop. What is the time frame for reimbursement? I also have concerns about hidden damages being dealt with in a timely manner. How do I deal with a company that will not return my emails?Business Response
