      My mother passed away July 2024. She asked me to take over her policies at Kemper prior to her death. I received wrong instructions from the beginning from Kemper. I had six policies to update ownership. First, I was told I had to submit the Ownership Change Form. Then I was told the policies defaulted to the insured and that the insured had to submit the ownership changes to make me the owner, which they did. Then when got to the last policy, I was told, "well this one was written differently, so you will have to do an affidavit. It does not default to the insured, but the next of kin." Grieving and still upset because of all of the hoops that I have to hop through, I did the affidavit. I called them to confirm the change has been made. They tell me that they can't give me any information on that policy. I'm lookin crazy because I just did everything that they told me to do. They tell me that I have to have the insured on the line. I ask why when we both submitted all of the paperwork and I was told that the policy didn't default to him anyway. Keep in mind, he had already submitted all of the "incorrect" paperwork (per Kemper), but now they want to talk to him. If it wasn't for mom, I would jump ship and I am still considering it. I was arguing with the *** for 45 minutes and he still wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor. He said that he spoke to him for me. ***! No, you re-iterated it with your understanding and not mine. Then had the audacity to tell me that he will give his supervisor my number and have them call me in 24 hours. While I'm waiting, I am definitely reviewing this company. STAY AWAY FROM KEMPER!

      I received my renewal documents and saw my premium went up about 1K and when trying to figure out why I was told it is because of 2 at fault claims I had in September and October of last year. The October claim is correct as an at fault fender ****** that resulted in a under 1k claim.The one is September though was a windshield replacement and should not be categorized as an "at fault accident" claim resulting in the drastic ***** in my premium.I have been told to call the claims department at to speak with a claims adjuster about this issue but every time I have called this number I either get hung up on right away or I've been put on hold for over an hour to get hung up on again. On my last attempt when I was finally able to talk to someone I was told to call Safelite (I have and they were not able to help but did confirm this should have been just a comprehensive claim). I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager at this point and supervisor ************ outright refused to speak to me and I was told to call Safelite to fix. I had been trying now for over 3 hours to call this number and was unable to reach anyone there. I was just bout to call it quits and switch to a different carrier when I was finally able to reach out to my agent and they were able to fix the claim to be comprehensive and the premium went down significantly. It is absolutely unacceptable to I had such poor customer service from your claims department and from your supervisor ****. It terrifies me now that should I need to contact the claims department again it would be another horrendous fight to get service and I am seriously considering switching insurance carriers after over 5 years because of this experience.

      I was with Kemper since 2009 to 2023.Last year I had my car vandalized and hit. While parked I was fully covered for both incidents at time, Upon dealing with Kemper I've gone else where , Kemper was as helpful as a boil on my - - - Avoid BS. Go Somewhere Else.

      ***************** Hi there. I had fire insurance on a house and when the house burned in March the Adjuster paid me the cost of living expense, but then put an investigator on me. This all happened because my agent gave out my insurance information to someone else. She also gave them the adjusters name and number, plus the investigater's name and number. At this point, everything became "he say, she say". In the end, I was finally told 3 months later that I couldn't get paid for my policy, because I wasn't living in the house at the time of the fire. I'm now wondering about my other policies I have with Kemper Life.

      Hello. I have had no issues with Kemper Life till my brother passed away in April 2024. My family and I havent been able to start the graving process due to funeral cost that the insurance company refuses to pay out on my brother accidentally death. I have called Kemper several time since the death of my brother. I spoke with a supervisor ***** and was told the claim for accidental death benefits was under consideration, and that they were waiting on a police report. I directly went to the police department and received the report that day in May! I called about three weeks ago requesting the supervisor or the adjuster to reach out to me with no response to this day. Its been disheartening and frustrating having to go through this at this time of my graving. I have insured most of my family with this company for over ten years, but sure if it was the right decision now!

      worst insurance ever.got into an accident on 4/1. after two months, they decided to total it (6/3). then i didnt hear for another month about paying it off (7/3). its still not paid off nor i have i received any money to pay it off. three and a half months have passed. i can never reach my adjuster (the first one stopped working for the company and my claim was reassigned).

      worst insurance group out there by far. If you see the name Kemper, run, in the other direction as fast as possible. even scoring 1 out of 5 stars left me feeling like I was giving them way more credit than they deserve.

      I was rear ended by a motorist insured under Kemper. The other party has admit fault. Kemper is refusing to pay my full medical bills. They claim they can counter my medical bills with "reasonable" accruals on their end and ask I call ****** and lower my cost of visits on the bill. I'm almost certain this is medical discrimination.

      My daughter passed, everything was submitted and I called yesterday and was told that the processing procedure was FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. How does that happen, should I have asked my daughter to die sooner? I have her children now and can't financially do anything special because I had to take care of my ONLY child. The policy has been paid off in full for decades. Please explain how a human being and company allow someone to say that
