Career builder will not stop sending me emails after multiple attempts to have them quit. I have followed the procedure and they still send me unsolicited emails that have nothing to do with what I want.They will not stop harassing me.Business Response

I have had a look in our system and I can confirm that there is no account active on CareerBuilder under the email address you have provided. However, if you have signed up for anonymous job alerts or to a Talent Network you may receive emails from CareerBuilder as this does not require you to have an account.
To unsubscribe from CareerBuilder emails you would have to click on the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email if you still receive emails from a Talent Network or client after clicking on unsubscribe, could you please send these as an attachment to me via [email protected]? This will help me investigate why you may still receive these if you have unsubscribed!
Unfortunately, if you applied off of the Careerbuilder.com site or through an external application your information is accessible to those employers, if your profile was set to public upon registering (this means your Resume was public in the Resume Database)employers may also have viewed your information. Another point of frustration is your lack of interest when I reply and request no more contact.

I have been subjected to predatory collection threats by CareerBuilder on invoices sent to me after I made multiple attempts to reach my dedicated Customer Success Manager to close my account at the scheduled end date of the contract on Feb 16th 2022 Attached:CareerBuilder - ********* Contract (Signed both parties)Email confirmation of contract end date from Career Builder Customer Manager on 07/01/2021 I contacted a new CareerBuilder designated representative on 03/16/2022 via email when I noticed a new invoice after contract expiration but received no response. Prior to this, I attempted to call him on multiple occasions after he introduced himself to me via email on 11/05/2021 to process cancellation at contract expiration.I then received a past due email and found the contact of *************************. I was then informed I am required to write a formal cancellation letter, which I sent 07/07/2022. I then received yet another invoice for 08/2022, and I asked ******** why I was still receiving invoices.The next email I received, advised the debt is being transferred to a collections agency for a sum of $309.00 + 15%. I had been a customer of ********************** of 2 years by the end of the contract 02/16/2022. The customer service and lack of response on the remaining year of the contract was non-existent. I am requesting the help of Better Business Bureau to:- finalize cancellation of the contract as stipulated in the signed agreement as of 02/16/2022 - cancel the invoices sent to me after contract expiry ($309)- and remove my information from any 3rd party collections agencies.Business Response

Thank you for your feedback via the better business bureau.Having spoken to the account manager and our legal department, based on your account history, there was no request received for cancellation prior to your renewal date on 02/17/2022. Your request on cancellation was received on April 17, 2022 through Customer Support. Unfortunately the support team is not able to deal with these retest and the team provided the instructions to provide the cancellation letter to the correct department. This cancellation was received on August 16, 2022.
A request to cancel the contract is unfortunately to be received 90 days prior t renewal, as per the fine print of the contract. This is the reason your contract renewed and you will not be able to cancel.
Your account manager has tried calling to explain the situation and check for other options, but was not able to get through. If you can speak to her, there may be other options that can be provided for you to make the most out of your contract.Thank you.

During my job search, I was once redirected to CareerBuilder. I have never created an account there. However, CareerBuilder has created an account for me. I tried to delete it, but it kept saying that my password is incorrect. In the span of 24 hours, CareerBuilder extracted my email and phone number and sold that information to third parties. I keep receiving texts, calls, and emails, and have submitted request fo CB to erase ALL my data. I have received a note that my information was marked as private, but it hasnt been deleted. CareerBuilder doesnt have my consent to use, distribute, or sell any of my data, private or public. I have never given my consent for creating an account there either. I want to assure you that there has been no information stolen or sold without your consent.Registration on CareerBuilder is completely voluntary and the terms of use (located here: https://www.careerbuilder.com/terms)outline the way in which your information is used upon registration, and I can confirm that CareerBuilder never creates accounts on behalf of jobseekers.
I have had a look in our system and while we indeed previously had an account active under ************************ I can confirm that this account has been deleted and you should no longer receive any communication via CareerBuilder!

I have been approached by 5 companies through CareerBuilder regarding positions and they have all turned out to be scams. These are for Remote work-at-home positions and they are sending fraudulent checks saying that it is to purchase the necessary software needed to do the job. I have 4 checks in my possession. I have notified CareerBuilder of this and the companies these people say they work for. I have also notified the *** of two said occasions. I have since closed my Careerbuilder account and posted what is happening on my social media sites but CareerBuilder needs to stop.Business Response

I created a job seeker profile with the company. the day after, I was bombarded with phone calls, emails, and text messages from scammers saying they were employers. I tried to take down my account but it's been a week already and I'm still getting messages. I want it to stop and I want my profile deleted. July 28th I was contacted by *********************** of FBA supply LLC about a job from careerbuilder. This company should not let these scammers on their site, they should have a better "weeding out" process. Instead I was contacted by this company because of a resume i had on careerbuilder and they are a scam. They have my personal information, id, banking, email. I signed up for this company in need of a job I quickly within 24 hours closed my acount due to all the scam texts and calls and emails I am receiving for a job website they do not vet/screen their job seekers and can end up scamming anyone not careful out of their information for identity theft I have been getting harassed by various numbers as eRly as 7am for ppl wanting me to dl an app and get a code etc for jobs that offer pay @36 an hour over and over from differwnt numbers etc . It is so bad I almost have to turn my phone off. Someone should have them screen the people who can see resumes etc . Some people are actually looking for work but with all the scammers that they let have access to information it makes you not want to answer any call that comes in. On March 12th, 2022, ********************* notified Career Builder that we would not be renewing our agreement with them for the 2022 to 2023 year. Career Builder is a site that allows its customers to access to their job board platform, posting open job requisitions and sourcing resumes through their data base. The new contract was to start on March 17th, 2022. We are a small staffing business based in ********, ********** and have been providing employment services for 20 years. We are affected by the ***** sequesters like many businesses. Our business responsibilities include providing weekly payroll processing, payroll taxes, administering benefits and maintaining all insurance compliances both on a State and Federal level for our employees and company. Due to the razor thin budgets and cutbacks, I contacted Career Builder prior to our ***** agreement end date of March 16th, 2022, and had notified them that unfortunately we would not be moving forward with an agreement renewal. Our company representative at Career Builder is ***********************. She responded to me on March 14th, 2022, by stating that we had to follow the agreement prior to our May 17th, 2020 agreement and give them a 90-day notice to cancel. In her email dated April 28, 2020, which I have enclosed in my attachment for your review, ***************** states and assures us that, We do not need to sign a 27-month contract anymore, we are just extending your contract until March 16, 2022. The end date is listed on the agreement (our last agreement) dated May 17th, 2020, as having an end date of 03/16/2022. Since March 12th, 2022 I have communicated Career Builder representatives letting them know that we have not renewed our agreement and do not intend to renew. I've spoken to our AR and ****************** and I regret to advise that:
1. On your May 17th Amendment to Order Form states (right above the signature block, my emphasis): By signing below, the parties agree to all the terms of the Order Form, including this Amendment, as of the Effective Date
The amendment didnt change any of the terms you agreed to in the Order Form, except the things specifically spelled out in the Amendment, the rest of the terms and conditions in the order form still apply.
2. The Order Form requires 90 days notice to prevent auto-renewal
To cancel the contract and cancel the auto-renewal clause, unfortunately you would have had to provide a cancellation by 12/16/21, this request was not received until March 12th 2022, and so the contract auto-renewed.
I've been advised that you were already notified that you would not be able to cancel the contract, however, we ended up cancelling your agreement on 8/30/22 and it was sent to collections for non payment.

Like others before, I signed up for a monthly subscription. I know that even with autorenewal for the posting is off that it will not actually cancel the subscription. So, I CALLED them around June 1st to confirm my account will stop the subscription. Over 10 calls later, I was told it was resolved. June 23rd arrived and my card was charged again. Called them numerous times again to get this resolved. July 23rd my card was charged AGAIN. Every time you try to get a hold of accounts receivable they say you need to write a letter to legal yo cancel a monthly subscription and will never look at your email again. When I try to call through the que and leave a voicemail, they never call you back. The only times I was able to reach them before was to call the sales department and have them patch me through. Even with this workaround to finally talk to a person, the issue still is unresolved. I have even tried reaching out on their socials. They will not cancel my monthly subscription.Business Response

I have requested that my CareerBuilder account be closed/deactivated and was told by their customer service that my account was closed. However, I continue to be bombarded with emails from recruiters indicating they see my profile/resume on the CareerBuilder website and contact me through my personal email/Gmail account. My account was linked to my personal email: [email protected] just received an email from a recruiter this morning but was told by CareerBuilder that my account was closed. I will attach a copy of this email to this complaint. I told CareerBuilder that I've been getting bombarded with emails by random recruiters but still have not received any resolution to my issue and would like this matter to be addressed immediately. I have had a look in our system, and I can confirm that your account and all data tied to *********************** were removed from CareerBuilder, could you advise if you perhaps registered another account under a different email address?I want to add that at times a company may represent themselves as a customer of ********************** while they are in no way affiliated. They do this because we have millions of users and attempt to use the brand to legitimize their contacts. We make every effort to shut them down with our privacy and security vendors. We also share information to help our job seekers keep themselves safe during the job search process. Additionally this company could have downloaded your details while your profile was still active.
Unfortunately, if you have applied on another platform linked from CareerBuilder or your information has been retrieved by an employer and saved locally while your profile was active, CareerBuilder will not able to delete that information from these systems. You will want to contact the companies that are communicating with you directly with your request to be removed from their systems and to stop contacting you.
