Earlier this year CareerBuilder responded to my complaint and basically said there was no such issue but the issue has PERSISTED. This past spring I listed my resume on Career Builder, but after hundreds of spam emails about questionable jobs, I deleted my account. Somehow my resume remained on the website and I get dozens of texts, calls, and emails every day about job openings. I quite literally demand CareerBuilder not tell me this isn't true but FIX THE ISSUE AND TAKE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION OFF OF YOUR WEBSITE. PLEASE. NOW.Business Response

Hi ********,
Thank you for your feedback via the Better Business Bureau.
I can confirm that we still do not have an active account or resume under your email or name on CareerBuilder. Looking at the communication provide from the employer this seems like an employer that previously downloaded your resume, or the company is trying to represent themselves as a customer of ********************** while they are in no way affiliated. They do this because we have millions of users and attempt to use the brand to legitimize their contacts. We make every effort to shut them down with our privacy and security vendors.
Unfortunately, if you applied off of the Careerbuilder.com site or through an external application your information is accessible to those employers, or your profile was set to public upon registering (this means your Resume was public in the Resume Database) employers may also have viewed your information.
We are unable to delete any records on employer's systems. If you wish to stop receiving communication from them, you will need to notify the employer directly of this so they can address the removal of your details within their systems, I would in this case advise to reach out to the recruiters directly to remove all your contact details.
Kindest Regards,
The CareerBuilder Team.

CareerBuilder has refused to delete my account information after I deleted my account. I have been attempting to upload my husbands updated resume to career builder. After logging in the website does not allow me to make changes to the old resume, delete the old resume, or upload a new resume. I called what is supposed to be the customer service number and by following the prompts was told to email my issue to a specific email and the call was hung up. I called back to try to speak to an actual human and was told by two separate people they could not help me and I had to just send an email. When I literally said to one woman so you are telling me career builder does not have any human customer service people to help those seeking jobs on your site? she just said send an email. Fine. I sent an email assuming Id never hear back and guess what, I did! I received an email saying the email address would not accept an email from the server and TO CALL THE COMPANY. So now there is no one to speak with and no email. It is really starting to feel like this website is just a scam to get money from employers and not to actually help anyone find a job.Business Response

Hi *******,
Thank you for your feedback via the better business bureau!
I understand you were upset because you were not able to speak to a customer service representative about amending resumes on your CareerBuilder account. CareerBuilder unfortunately does not offer dedicated phone support for jobseekers, any communication and questions can be emailed to [email protected].
I can see you submitted a query on 10/12/2022 which came through to our jobseeker support queue, and our customer service representative advised on the same day that the issue with removing and adding your resumes has now been resolved. I have provided your query and the response provided by our support team on 10/12/2022 as an attachment.
To add your resume or remove a resume, please log in with your credentials on careerbuilder.com.
1. At the top right of the webpage click on your name ******* and select My Profile from the drop down menu.
2. Next please click on "Resumes".
3. As you have 3 resumes active and CareerBuilder allows only 3 active resumes on an account, you will need to remove a resume before you are able to add a new one.
4. To remove one of the resumes, please click on the bin icon. After the resume is removed the button Upload a resume will become available. Please let me know if you encounter any issues making the changes to your resumes.
Kind regards,
The CareerBuilder Team

I recently have submitted a few job applications to various companies using Career Builder. I was contacted by a few people regarding the positions I applied for via text message. I was prompted to download an app called "Telegram" in order to further the interview process with one of the hiring managers for the company GenesisCare. I downloaded the app then proceeded to message the contact given to me. I was then asked a few general standard questions such as "were you looking for part-time or full-time", "are you okay with the benefits the company is offering" and so on. I then was asked more in depth questions once the conversation went on and they gave a very lengthy message regarding the companies background and reason for business. They asked for my current residence, my full name, and my financial institution for company matching purposes. I gave this information; at the time thinking this to be a legit thing. The interview process proceeds and towards the end, they told me that I would be getting a check to use in order to purchase all the equipment that I need for the job. I then start to become suspicious. Since we are communicating through the app "Telegram" I wasn't able to see the email for this "said hiring manager". I ask for their email just to verify this being real, they reply that I would receive an email tomorrow. I kindly ask for them to verify the email, they insist that I would get an email tomorrow. I ask once more and they tell me that I will get a code, to verify my email. I get the code and it is from ******* voice verification" and "to not share it with anyone". I then ask how a code being sent to my phone, has anything to do with verifying my email. They never replied back. I have since read that Career Builder is not an actual site, it is nothing but scammers. I also read the app "Telegram" is great for scammers because you can use a bot account to pose as someone else. You can also delete message conversations for BOTH parties.Business Response

They have added me to their contact list and I am unable to remove myself from future emails due to the fact that I have not created an account with them. I tried applying for a job they have listed only. It was my mistake because it immediately opened up into constant emails from fake accounts offering fake jobs used as housing emails. In addition, I started receiving fake calls for job offers from fake companies or people that did they were from companies that they were not. *** asked them to remove any information on me in their database but I continue to receive emails from strangers that they saw my resume on careerbuilder. Careerbuilder has denied that there is anything in their site but I keep getting emails from random people stating they got my resume on this site. I have never posted my resume for anyone to look at. I had an account at one time and set it to private so that I could apply to jobs privately. They are posting my personal information without my consent. I deleted my account months ago and after continually receiving emails from strangers that claim they got my resume on careerbuilder. I contacted them asking them to remove it because I dont have the account anymore but it must be somewhere i I cant find. They claim they cant find anything on me in their database. If that were true, how are others finding it and emailing me? They specifically told me it was Careerbuilder that they got it from. Can you make them search and get rid of whatever is showing up on their site. I just want my information gone.Business Response
