CareerBuilder is actively promoting fake jobs set up by ******** offering jobs, but in reality these are phishing attempts to steal money from people like myself that are seeking employment. CareerBuilder is not doing enough to verify the jobs being posted on their site are legitimate. I am receiving numerous emails and texts every day from these scammers attempting to obtain personal information from me. They have gone so far as to provide fake "offer letters" forging company CEO's names. There is SERIOUS fraud taking place through CareerBuilder!!!Initial Complaint

I've asked CareerBuilder over and over and over to stop texting me I'm not interested in their services and they wont stop, I've asked them to remove me from their systems as well. They text you late in the evening and pretend to be acquainted to gain a response. This is causing me extreme stress.Business Response

There are no accounts in our system with the email address ******************* There are also no requests that have been submitted for that users data to be deleted. Also, the user mentions that they have asked ********************** to stop texting them but I see no contacts to our support team from that email address. It is possible that user may be using a different email address. However, it is more likely that the users are being contacted by scammers. Often times we see scammers using the name of reputable businesses like Careerbuilder to justify contact. We can investigate is the users is willing to provide examples of the contacts they are receiving.
If the user wants their information deleted, they can submit a request here -> ********************************************************************************************************************. Note that they will get an email once the form is process that is use to simply verify their identity. Once that is done, the process of data deletion will begin.

My private email and IP Address has been compromised 5. This has left me feeling violated and depressed, I no longer am able to trust any job recruitment agency.6. This is illegal what these moronic people are doing is wrong on so many levels and this website should be taken down so honest people like me do not have to worry about idiots like these people stealing what matters most, OUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.Business Response

We can investigate any scam jobs if we have examples from the user of a job they are referencing that is on our site. It would also have any email examples the user has along with the email headers so we can attempt to trace the contact to a user account. Often times we see scammers using the name of reputable businesses like Careerbuilder to justify contact.

I have been getting CareerBuilder emails for many months, and have tried for at least 5 months to get off of their mailing list. This site has caused me so much trouble. If anyone is using it, leave now! Do NOT apply for jobs on this site. Use anything but CareerBuilder! All scam responses ive received, have come from this site. The first 2 were check scams. These people posed as real companies ***************** & Ascension Health. Both sent me legal IRS paperwork & I filled it out & sent back my whole identity; BC, SS Copy, Copy of DL, everything! After I read handbooks for both companies, I did research. I looked up the names of the owners/CEOs, locations, everything matched & it seemed real. I need a job bad & when I got the texts, I took the offers. Both companies sent me checks w/ ********* logos & addresses on them. I did my research, but I didn't pay attention to detail. I did deposit one check & the bank knew right away. I called the CEO of ********************* & I left him a vm freaking out. He called me back right away. He was in *********** where his company is located & the address, logos, his signature were real, but he is a start-up company & not hiring. He was nice & told me what steps to follow to report this (***, IG, Local PD, etc He said he found out about the scam over the weekend & said it was sickening how they were using his real signature, logos, etc. He put a notice on his website to let people know about the scam. He also asked me if I applied for the job on CareerBuilder, I said YES! Since then I have gotten many scam texts and emails. The newest email said Dear (Blank),Thank you for taking the time to submit your resume for the position of Home Assistant through the Careerbuilder job board.100% all of these are coming from CareerBuilder! They aren't vetting their job postings, letting people post what they want without verify check points. Nothing serious happened to me & I have ID protection, others aren't so lucky. It's sad, people looking for jobs, really praying & needing an income, & you let scammers pray on them. CareerBuilder is dangerous. DON'T use this site!Initial Complaint

I signed up several months ago for job opportunities. That situation changed and I have tried repeatedly over the past two months to unsubscribe from their emails and they keep emailing me job listings. I have contacted their support department several times and I am still receiving the emails. They respond to the support ticket but never follow up and months later I still receive these emails and have tried unsubscribing a dozen times. Can someone get them to stop emailing me this is a disgrace. I have the emails to prove and the support ticket emails if that helps.Initial Complaint

I have repeatedly asked Career Builder to quit selling my information, delete my data, close my account, and remove me from their email list. I mistakenly signed up years ago and within a week tried to close my account because of all the scam and phishing recruiter contacts I was receiving. I have contacted the company no less than five (5) times asking the above requests. I was able to deactivate my account, but my information and resume is still on job boards. I get recruiter communications (email, ********, phone calls, and text messages) as many as 10+ a day. I keep requesting to be removed from all communications, but they will not honor my requests.Initial Complaint

6-7 years ago, CareerBuilder had a scam on their *********** Website regarding a work from home job. Long story short, I cashed a check that was emailed to me, then, I was fined by my bank! I made them aware of the scam back then, and suggested they do a little bit more investigating on their supposed hiring companies! I logged out from their website and no longer used their services. Recently I'm online looking for a new job on different job sites that turned out to be, 3rd parties for CareerBuilder I assume, because after hitting 'apply now' button, it took me to their website. I was contacted by ************* for a fake WFH job, via text message then through MS ****** emailed a check, lucky for me they're a little behind in the scam world! However, unfortunately for me, there is a new, more sophisticated scammer on CareerBuilder now who has my SS# and my ID since they provided me with a actual 'I9 form' which I've attached along w/ an 'Offer for hire letter' from the '****************.' I've also attached the email they sent which they hired me with. If you look closely at their email address, the 'admin' has 2 i's in it! ??This scam entailed, them ordering 2, iPhone 15s and 1, iPad pro, via *******, this was paid in full, this was my 'supposed' WFH equipment. I did however, sign the contract w/ *******. Next, I'm supposed to send the equipment to an IT programmer in *****, to install the software I need for my job! Since, I've been scammed 2xs before, with WFH jobs. I called ******* to make sure I was not going to be responsible for the payment of the products, and ******* assured me that they were paid for in full, but couldn't tell me the name of the purchaser. So today I received the equipment. One other ??, the hiring manager was relentless with communication on MS ****** So this is ridiculous and CareerBuilder is literally responsible for allowing these types of scams to be available, because they DO NOT RESEARCH THEIR HIRING COMPANIES! PLEASE STOP THEM!Business Response
