    They placed an order for me and took funds from my bank account without my permission. They did refund it when contacted, but now they are trying to reverse the transaction to take it back out. Something shady with this business

    Home Chef advertises that after sign-up customers can cancel anytime. This is a misrepresentation of what is offered. I needed to cancel before receiving my first order and it was before the order cutoff. However, there was no option provided to cancel or close the account. Only to remove selected meals for the order. However, their system automatically selects meals for future orders. Therefore, the method they provide to "cancel" your account, would require routine maintenance to go in and remove the auto selected meals. This is no better than a sham. When I requested the customer service phone number from the bot, it would not provide it. Instead referenced that phone support isn't available at this time and put me in a perpetual loop of questions of no value to my request. These practices are subpar and disingenuous, at best.

    They make it difficult, no impossible for you to cancel your account. This is a huge red flagged. Cancelled but getting charged for another meal anyway.

    I received a gift card to home chef for Christmas and when I went to place my first order it was nothing but irritating and a waste of my time. I was a brand new customer to ********************** at the time I went to place my first order. First of all I think it is absolutely ridiculous that you cannot combine a new customer promotion that they offer with my gift card which is like cash just already purchased through them but then I receive my first order and they just dropped it off in the middle of nowhere. They delivered my food on the side of the parking lot area of my condo complex. This is not my house and then to top it off less then 5 minutes later when I go to search for my order where my food was supposedly left and it is not there. I searched the whole complex and my food order is nowhere to be found. To say I am ****** is an understatement. Who in their right mind would ever leave a package, let alone a food package in the middle of nowhere. I live in a condo with a unit number and if they had a hard time finding it then they should have called the number on file. This is the worst experience I have ever had. I canceled my account and I still have a gift card and I dont even want to use it.

    Cancel my subscription 2x but was still charged for orders.Once they get your account number they will continue to charge you.

    I ordered over $500 in gift cards for my children to try home chef this Christmas. When they tried to get the free meals being a new customer they did not let them do it. They claimed a gift card and the free meals for a new customer were combining two offers. Which I do not believe is true. When the first meal was delivered, the delivery is dropped off in the middle of my daughter's townhome complex not even at her front door. I got the notification, went out to find it and the package was gone. Home chef will not back their service or refund their money. The whole experience has been terrible and I don't suggest this service for anyone.

    I was investigating other meal delivery companies, since Home Chef is up there with Hello Fresh. I entered my information because I couldn't find any other way to look at their recipes. Which are NOT what my husband and I would eat so I went into my account to cancel it. Only to find, there is NO WAY to cancel ANYTHING on your account. You have to suspend it, so I did. I mean within 10 minutes of activating I had suspending the account.Low and behold two days later I get notified from Paypal, that the company had gone ahead and taken my money anyway, and my account still shows DEACTIVATED.I have cancelled the furture transactions through Paypal, however still have no way to cancel anything through Home Chef.I would NOT deal with this company, I have done Hello Fresh, which is the one I would recommend. WOULD NEVER recommend this company, their online practices are too sketchy.BAD BAD BAD, y'all should be ashamed of yourselves.

    We have been loyal Home Chef customers for over three years. Order 4 days of food received on Monday. It is my understanding to save money, Home Chef changed their shippers. Its a nightmare. Last Monday didnt receive box until well after dinner. Fast forward to today, no delivery at 8:53pm. Not waiting up for delivery. It can sit outside and well send back in the morning. Their customer service line basically says tough luck. We are done with them.
