Completed FNP Program with Chamberlain. Submitted request for Validation Of APRN Education Form (***) October 31, 2022, received by CU November 2, 2022. It is incomplete. The **** has sent multiple requests via email (copying me) to the office of the Registrar requesting that the *** be corrected: I transferred a course from ****** **** that was accepted into CUs FNP program. The **** instructions clearly state the *** "lists any transfer courses with course number and title from the institution where the course was taken." Chamberlain completed the *** TWICE, incorrectly. The most recent request from the **** was January 5, 2023 again asking for the document to corrected. Throughout this process, I have contacted the school over 10 times, speaking with several staff that are "escalating" my concerns. I've requested that a supervisor return my call, to no avail. I have been waiting and calling and waiting for Chamberlain to simply fix the *** so that I can sit for my board exam. The **** will not provide authorization for me to test without the *** being corrected.Business Response

Case #: 18891058
To whom it may concern:
On behalf of Chamberlain University (Chamberlain), *************** to your request dated January 24, 2023, regarding former Chamberlain student, ********************
On October 31,2022, **************** submitted a Validation of Advanced ************************** (***) form to complete. The Chamberlain ********************* completed the form, based on the instructions provided on the form. The completed form was then sent via email to ************************************ (****) and the student via email on November 2, 2022.
On December 7,2022, *************************** from the **** emailed Chamberlain and stated that the *** form was missing information. ***************** stated the following in her email, Please ensure that the *** course numbers and titles are congruent between the form and the courses taken by the student, at the school they were accepted from.
Because the **** was asking Chamberlain to validate a course that was transferred from another institution, the request had to be further reviewed and approved by Chamberlain leadership. The *** request was updated and sent to the **** and the student on January 5, 2023. On the same day ***************** responded via email with the following, The revised Validation of Education form lists NR 507 "*Note- we accepted this as transfer credit for ext institution as chamberlains NR 507." Please note that we require that the *** lists any transfer courses with course number and title from the institution where the course was taken.
On January 20,2023, a Chamberlain representative left a voicemail for ****************** to discuss the exact wording for the ***. However, to date, ****************** has never returned the phone call.
The *** form was updated, as requested by ******************, approved to be sent again by Chamberlain leadership and sent by email to ****************** on January 25, 2023. ***************** responded by email on January 26, 2023, with the following, The document received below lists the Advanced Pathophysiology course as "NR 507 Advanced Pathophysiology." Cerita's Chamberlain transcript indicates this course was taken at ****** University. Please ensure that the course title and course number match Cerita's transcript where the course was taken. The *** form was updated, as requested, and emailed to *******************
On January 30,2023, **************** contacted Chamberlain by phone and stated that the *** was incorrect. She stated that the form needed to state the school where the transfer course was taken. **************** also went on to state that ****************** only communicated by email. The *** form was updated per **************** directions, approved by Chamberlain leadership, and sent to ****************** and **************** on February 1, 2023.
It is important to note that Chamberlain followed the instructions provided on the *** form when completing the form. It was only after additional emails from ****************** and **************** that additional information was advised to be added to the form. The additional information sought,is not listed in the instructions on how to complete the *** form.
Best Regards,

I am currently a student at Chamberlain University in the family nurse practitioner masters degree program. I have been compliant with all of my schoolwork, and passed all my classes, and Chamberlain has not provided me with registration for the next course. I was told that I would be registered by the registration date which is today. I have been calling this university regarding this matter for over two weeks, with not one person getting back to me at all. I have been repeatedly lied to, hung up on, and told I would be registered for this class by January 9, 2023. No one has called me back regarding this matter, and I would like a resolution. I will now lose two months of time toward my degree, and not to mention the countless amount of hours I have spent on hold, trying to get a hold of someone that could help me. Once again, I was told today that a manager would contact me regarding this matter, and it would be resolved. No one has contacted me, and I am supposed to be at my scheduled course clinical tomorrow, which I can now not attend. Chamberlain needs to be held accountable for lying to the students who have done nothing to deserve this treatment. I only have seven months left until I graduate, now it will be pushed back to 10 months, with no explanation.Business Response

Good afternoon I am enrolled as a student for post graduate education, classes started today and I have been trying to contact the school for the past week to set up clinical placement and be registered in the class. The preceptor have been doing the same unsuccessfully. This lack of communication with the school is going to result in a delay in my education and graduation as is causing me a great deal of stress. Hello, I am a student at Chamberlain University in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. I am currently in the clinical portion of my program and we are to find our own placements. The clinical site I submitted for already had a contract with the school which made the application review easier for the faculty. Classes start today, January 9th. I have relentlessly been calling our Experiential Learning Coordinators (ELC) since submitting my application for this site. I was told last week that they reached out to the clinical site director to confirm how many students would be working with ******************** per day. I followed up with the clinical site director to ensure they received a response by Friday of last week as I need the practicum approval to register for the course that started today. The director sent ELC the requested response on Thursday, January 5th confirming that no more than two students would be with ******************** on any given day. I received an email from ELC over the weekend stating the clinical site was denied because they don't allow more than two students per session instead of two student per day which was never relayed or stated as the problem. This delay, and not being able to contact ELC over the weekend has now put me in a predicament and forcing me to push my progress in the program back an entire course. With perseverance and determination, I asked them to escalate this to the **** of students but they could not guarantee I would get approval or still be registered for this course. I feel there is an easy way to work this out but my voice is not being heard and I cannot get in communication with the appropriate parties to resolve this matter.Business Response

The communication between students and the facility has been horrible. I have been emailing for several weeks with no return communication. Their website states that they should be contacting me back within 48 hours. I have also called and left messages to be called back with no success. I have tried multiple times to contact *** and other departments with no success. As students we were never informed of the *** department being off for the holidays. In fact when I did email several weeks ago I was told that someone would be in the department helping students register for classes throughout the holidays. I have had my end of the requirements for practicum registration completed for some time and have been reaching out to get registered for class with no success. Not only does this set me behind, as I cannot purchase my school materials or participate in preview week, but it makes me appear VERY unprofessional to my practicum site. They have even requested things from the school with no response. I have followed up on that months ago and was told that the materials were sent over but in fact my site contact stated they were not. This reflects poorly on me and makes me look ill-prepared when in fact I have been doing everything I need to. It should not be this hard to get in contact with someone at a university, especially when I am paying to go there. It is frustrating and a waste of my time trying to get someone at this school to answer me back. This could very well impact my ability to work at this site in the future after graduation. I will not be recommending Chamberlain to anyone who asks me and honestly I would unenroll and find another school if any other school would accept my credits.Business Response

I am currently a student who has been paying out of pocket for classes. I have been trying to a few weeks to get approved to get registered for my next class with no call backs or emails regarding the situation - I get sent to a voicemail box of a person who apparently no longer works there. I have tried to resolve this situation with the university itself with no success. I just want to get registered for my class so I can continue with this program. This university has been in business long enough to not have to experience these types of issues. It is preview week where students can review the upcoming classes while some of us cannot get registered its an unfair advantage for people who are registered to be able to work ahead if needed while I cannot review my class, buy my book that is needed to start January 9, 2023.Business Response

I am a student in the online FNP program at Chamberlain University. In order to start the clinical course NR 511 on January 9, a practicum site is needed. I secured a practicum by paying via an outside service because the university was not helpful. I have a preceptor that was approved, the site approved, and the *****************. All medical compliance is completed and verified by email from the compliance department. I cannot be registered for the class until I have the final check from the experiential learning team who handles practicum. The person handling my case is no longer employed. Emails are sent and a case is assigned with no response. The number is called and no one answers; a message is left and no one returns the call. Education is a paid service and they are keeping their end of the contract and not helpful, but it is ok to send a bill that money is owed. All I am asking for is to be cleared for registration by the Experiential learning coordinator. There are many students in the same predicament.Business Response

I have been enrolled in Chamberlain University's post-Master;s program for Mental Health NP. I was mistakenly withdrawn from my course and locked out of my program. The school states due to attendance, however, I completed all assignments when they were do, I logged in multiple times per week to access books and learning materials. The school stated that utilizing outside sources allegedly does not cross over in to their "Canvas" and is not recognized as attendance, however, there were NO courses assigned into the Canvas to access during one week, and due to my work schedule I had not had the opportunity to access the Canvas assigned prior to them locking me out. However, I did absolutely completely all other assignments that were due that week including taking the midterm. The school told me to file an appeal, which I did and was told I would be reinstated within ***** hours, which was on 11/21. As of today, 11/29 I have not been reinstated, they have sent me an exit counseling email, no one will return my phone calls or emails. This is a for profit school and when I explained the situation to the person I spoke with on the phone, they were clearly able to see that I had in fact been in the course multiple times both weeks in question. I was told to file an appeal so "We can get you right back in there" I am now 1.5 weeks behind in assignments and due to their lack of response to my appeal and my phone calls, am not clear how I am going to be able to get caught back up, and they are keeping the money I paid for this course which directly effects my student loans. This was a mistake or a lack of systems communication on Chamberlain's side as I clearly have been doing the work and the requirements set forth. I hope you can help me before I need to escalate this by other means. Thank you for your time.Business Response

I was registered as a student in Chamberlains Nurse Practitioner program and had received multiple emails from Chamberlain stating that for every person you refer to the school that inquires, you will get a $25 gift card. The only rules stated in the email was that they must have an RN license, not reside in **********, and not have inquired about the program within the prior 1 year of the referral. I referred 4 of my friends in November of 2021, all of which had not inquired about the program in the prior year (the latest inquiry was done in 2019). One of the 4 referrals actually registered for Chamberlains NP program. At first chamberlain said the gift cards would be sent out 4-6 weeks. After waiting over 6 weeks I had to call back and they kept telling me they are going to look into it and get back to me. Months passed and I never received any communication about the gift cards. About 6 months later I reach back out to them and they say that 2 of the referrals are not valid for the gift cards because according to their records they had previously inquired about the program. When I asked them for the date of inquiry, none of the dates were within one year of when I put in my referrals. They said they would escalate the situation to a higher up and get back to me. I spent the next 4 months continuously trying to get more information and updates but I would be sent to voicemail or be told "they are in a meeting" when asking to talk to someone who can help me. Finally, after over 10 months of getting the run around, I spoke with ***** who informed me that her higher **** and apparently the *** have said "the gift cards will not be sent out because they don't qualify and that legally its something they can not do". No other explanation on why they didn't qualify or what made them invalid. This is not only false advertising but its also unethical and manipulative of a school to benefit thousands of dollars from my referral yet fail to honor a $100 gift card program.Business Response
