I am absolutely regretting every attending this school. We are required to submit our clinical sites for their FNP program months in advance, yet we wait to get approval until the week we are supposed to be active in the class for preview week. Even worse, some students are not getting approval until weeks in to the course - which is apparently their solution to fixing this problem. I feel behind in my course before it even starts. I have paid over $10,000 for my clinical sites because Chamberlain was not willing to even help me find a site. Not only am I paying for my own sites but I have to pay for housing, transportation, etc. I also need to arrange a schedule, transportation, and housing because all of my sites are out of state of about 5 hours from home. Them waiting to approve my applications and register me for course keeps me from doing all of these things, adding a ton of stress to something that should not be stressful. Not only do they not do their jobs, they don't answer communication either. I have emailed, submitted cases through their online portal, and attempted to call with either no answer or being told someone will contact me within ***** hours - which they never do. When they do decide to contact me it is a generic response that doesn't answer my question or states something that I already know due to being able to see it on my practicum application. There are students who have had their stuff approved for future classes and myself and hundreds of others can't even get an approval for our upcoming classes. This school is not worth the money or time I've spent on it and I will never recommend Chamberlain until they fix their practicum process.Business Response

Chamberlain does not follow through with their agreement to provide students appropriate services. They have an entire department dedicated to assisting student with clinicals called experiential learning coordinator or ELC. However this department has been near impossible to get ahold of for months. This department is the only department who can approve clinical sites and preceptors. Of note they are also supposed to assist students with findings clinical sites however the last time I tried this the coordinator only googled local clinics and told me to call. I informed her I had called these already. She provided no more guidance. This severely delays students abilities to perform clinical hours as we have to have approval prior to starting clinicals and prior to enrolling in the class. I have attempted emailing to no avail. I have attempted calling to no avail. Chamberlain sent out an email recently that said a secondary department had taken over some of ELCs responsibilities. I called the secondary department and was told their only duty was to take over communications for ELC and they had no way of contacting ELC staff. The person could see I had made multiple attempts to contact ELC and had not gotten a response. She was unable to assist in resolving the issue. This is the same issue multiple students had last semester. Nothing is getting better. Students are paying top dollar for services chamberlain refuses to provide. This is not a way to run a school. Students are suffering because staff are refusing to do their job. We are being forced to put our lives on hold while chamberlain staff fails to uphold their end of the contract.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: on Tuesday April 25 I received an early morning call from ELC department accusing me of harassment. The employee was condescending and inappropriate. She stated I emailed her 20 times in one day. I informed her this was impossible. I asked her to research it some more and after which she stated it was 15 times in one day. She continued to be disrespectful for several minutes. I brought the conversation back to the accusations of repeatedly emailing her and told her that was a serious accusation. She then apologized and said it was about a student with a name similar to mine. Either way the manner the conversation went down was unprofessional. She then asked me about the job duties of the preceptor and she requested confirmation from the preceptor. Immediately after this conversation I spoke with the preceptor and she emailed ELC back with the requested information and docusigned the contract agreement. While it most likely did not have a letterhead it came straight from the preceptor. I logged in to my account today to find the preceptors application denied. I attempted to email ELC and I got a reply stating the mailbox is full and cannot accept any more emails.
Sincerely,

Chamberlain has listened to the phone call between ************** and the Chamberlain colleague. The results of this review of the call have been reviewed with the colleague and further discussed. I am rejecting this response because: Thank you for your response. However, "further discussed" is not a comforting response when an employee calls with inappropriate and false accusations. Furthermore I have not heard back from anyone(aside on this site) about my official complaint. I have also asked multiple times for contact information for the ***** of ******** and have been denied this information. What ethical reason would a school have to deny, or ignore, a student's request to speak to the trustees? The application for clinical site had the preceptor's email in it. It was then given to two additional ELC personnel upon their request. This morning I received an email stating the application was denied because the preceptor did not provide primary care services. However she does provide primary care services which is in her resume and supported by her emails. I believe the preceptor was denied due to the name of the facility. With severely limited clinical sites available why deny a student this opportunity when its available
Yes the school provided a list of potential sites however the few local sites have all said no and the rest of the sites are 9 hours away.
Sincerely,

I am an FNP student with this university. I am due to start my clinical rotation in May. I have paid a preceptor and submitted paperwork in February. I emailed the *** (department that handles clinical needs) and explained to them that I had to take March session off due to surgery and my application was a little past due date due to not knowing when my surgery was. I wanted assurance that they were going to be able to complete my request. No response. I have then sent various request via a ticket and my request have been closed without resolution. I have called, my preceptor site has called, and I cannot get ahold of anyone! I cannot even get ahold of my academic advisor to try to see if she can help me! I have a few concerns that I want resolution on! 1) I have to travel 2 hours for clinical. I need to prearrange my hotel so I need to know if Im going to be approved and registered. The sooner the better! This delay is making the school and myself look bad! 2) I want to know if I can complete Practicum in ******** and *******. I have licenses in both states. I have applied for two rotations in Indiana. 2 in ********. 3) I have a site that wants to work with me for my last clinical and they do not have an affiliation agreement and were wanting to contact the school. I am trying to assist them with this. I need help! I cant lose this site as this is a great opportunity for me. If I cant get in contact with anyone how can a healthcare clinic contact them? 4) Will there ever be a time that two clinicals are approved for a quarter? It makes me look like Im either un-enrolled or part time. This messes with my financial aid. Im so disheartened! I pay so much money that I should be able to get the support I need!Business Response

On April 12,2023, an Experiential Learning Coordinator spoke to ******************** regarding her concerns. She was advised that applications were on file for both her May and July 2023 practicum locations. The contracts for both locations had been completed and approvals were needed for both locations. It was also explained that she needed to complete the onsite compliance requirements for her July 2023 application at her practicum location. On April 13,2023, ******************** was registered in NR511 for the May 2023 term and was notified by email on the same day.
Regarding Ms. *************** regarding the completion of practicums in a site outside her state of residence, she was advised that if she was licensed in that state, it was a possibility. Additionally, the Experiential Learning Coordinator explained that if a practicum site did not have a contract on file, then she would need to complete an application for the site. Once the application was received Chamberlain would reach out to the location to complete a contract.

I have been taking classes toward my Nurse Practitioner Masters degree in family practice. I have 3 classes left. I have been enrolled and was completing assignments for the class in a timely manner for the last 17 days. On Friday afternoon I received an email that Im going to be unenrolled from a class for noncompliance. I tried calling the school to find out whats going on but the person I got ahold of didnt have an answer. I have proof that I dont have any outstanding items for my practicum application. The very next day I was dropped from the class. First of all, what sort of business practice is that to send an email Friday afternoon and not be available for clarification of whats going on. Secondly, who sends an email about disenrollment and automatically does this over the weekend. It has been a nightmare to reach anyone at this school or get any answers, and staffing shortage excuses arent acceptable as I pay money to attend this school and deserve to be provided with all the services Im entitled to, including but not limited to answered phone calls, knowledgeable staff, and quality answers. This school has put my family through so much by making it mandatory to attend in person training that made me miss Fathers Day with my kids; by not providing preceptor references and dropping me out of classes for months; and now this disenrollment while I take care of my 3 kids while my wife is away on military deployed.Business Response

I am a student in the *** program and we are required to find our own clinical practicum sites and preceptors. An application is then submitted and approved by Chamberlain faculty and staff, they recommend 6 months in advance of the practicum start. I submitted my application August 3, 2022 to start practicum on March 6, 2023. Over the months since I had been in contact with the Experiential Learning Coordination team, where they assured me there was nothing further I needed to do for this to be processed and they would handle it. I have been relentlessly contacting the University since 1/23/23 to express this concern to be approved, among other issues which have still not been addressed adequately. My practicum site has also attempted communication numerous times without response. This semester began March 6, 2023 which was also the deadline for registration which I am not allowed to do because my practicum has not been approved, the deadline has now been moved to March 16, 2023 as they have been "experiencing higher than normal inquiries and cannot process applications in a timely manner". I have contacted the ****, academic advising, and cannot speak to anyone from the *** to resolve this issue and it is impeding on my academic progress. It has been over 6 months and the communication has been extremely poor, I worked diligently at everything they have asked me to do to prepare for the practicum and I keep getting the run around and need this issue solved as soon as possible. I have not been provided any substantial update and 3/16 is quickly approaching.Business Response

Im a first time *** graduate student at Chamberlain University. With any of Chamberlains offers it is ensured that the student receives the best possible benefit towards their educational expenses. Currently, **************** receives a 30% tuition discount with the **************************** (IEP) with her employer, Advocate Aurora.
In reference to the Working Parent ****** the terms do not support a student receiving both an IEP and the Working Parent *****. Most of Chamberlains other *****s follow the same direction. Chamberlain built the offering for students who are not receiving other benefits or have an exemption lower than what the Working Parent ***** has to offer. Within our Scholarship Guide, found online at ********************************************************************************************* in the Terms/Conditions forms that would be needed to receive the ***** it states the following in the first section:
Students eligible for multiple institutional aid programs (e.g.,a group-specific tuition rate and *****/scholarship) will have the benefit that is in the students best financial interest applied, unless otherwise noted.
And
There are occasions where our ***** recipients may be eligible for more than one scholarship, ***** or group-specific tuition rate. Chamberlain students are limited to participation in only one Chamberlain-based scholarship,***** or group-specific tuition rates, unless otherwise noted. If a student qualifies for more than one such program, the student will be awarded the option that is most favorable to them. If the student qualifies for and prefers a different scholarship, ***** or group-specific tuition rates, the student must provide written confirmation, prior to stating classes at Chamberlain, of the alternate program in which they wish to participate.
Because **************** is receiving a 30% partnership discount due to their affiliation with Advocate Aurora, it would be greater that then 15% discount that the Working Parent ***** offers. She is only eligible to receive one discount offering.

February 2023 I am currently attending Chamberlain University FNP program. I am compliant with my classes, compliant with clinical hours, I have no financial balance due and am compliant with all necessary clinical documentation. The next and final session prior to completion of FNP program started 3/5/2023 and I have not been registered or contacted by Chamberlain. I have been trying to reach someone from experiential learning or anyone who is able to get me registered for this session for over one month and have had no response. I have been attempting to finish my FNP through chamberlain.. Ive been having trouble finding a practicum site and there was little to no help from the college. When I did find a site there were issues regarding the site. When these issues were addressed, I received no response from the Experiential Learning Comity to start my practicum! As stated in the Academic Catalog (Exhibit A), a student who has been dismissed for failing to meet standards of academic progress may appeal the action by completing an Appeal for Reinstatement form. **************** submitted an Appeal for Reinstatement after being academically dismissed and it was approved on October 8, 2019. At the conclusion of the March 2022 session, in which **************** earned a failing grade in NR452, she was academically dismissed for having two unsuccessful attempts (WF or F) in any combination of nursing courses (NR452 March 2022 and NR222 July 2019)and three unsuccessful attempts in any combination of science* (D, WF or F) or nursing (WF or F) courses (NR452 March 2022, NR222 July 2019 and NR283 July 2019). **************** submitted an Appeal for Reinstatement after being academically dismissed and it was approved on June 24, 2022. **************** re-enrolled in NR452 for the July 2022 session. At the conclusion of the July 2022 session, in which **************** earned a withdraw/failing grade in her second attempt of NR452, she was academically dismissed for having two unsuccessful attempts (WF or F) in any combination of nursing courses (NR452 July 2022 and NR452 March 2022) and three unsuccessful attempts in any combination of science* (D, WF or F) or nursing (WF or F) courses (NR452 July 2022, NR452 March 2022, and NR222 July 2019).
**************** submitted an Appeal for Reinstatement after being academically dismissed and it was denied on October 7,2022. The basis for the denial was that the documented mitigating circumstances did not sufficiently establish justifiable cause for failing to meet standards of academic progress. Additionally, the students plan for academic success did not demonstrate significant indication that standards of academic progress would be met in the future. **************** submitted an Appeal of the Reinstatement Decision which was denied on February 3, 2023. The basis for the denial was due to the students poor academic history and the lack of plan to change strategies.
After reviewing Ms. ******* complaint,we have found the Appeal for Reinstatement process was completed correctly. Additionally, **************** has not provided any new information that would affect the original decision of the denial of her Appeal for Reinstatement. The denial of the Appeal for Reinstatement will stand.

I was dropped from Chamberlain University Nurse Practitioner Program due to GPA on October 27, 2022. I did some research and decided I would like to do ****** University's DNP program anyway, it was a better fit. I had no ill feelings toward Chamberlain. In order to get my financial aid transferred to ****** from Chamberlain, their financial department must cancel the pending disbursements in the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) system. I have contacted them multiple times and waited on hold for many hours. The financial office keeps telling me it is done and then I get an email about my financial aid awarded to Chamberlain. Please I need help. They are just flat out lying to me and refusing to cancel my aid even though I am not enrolled in any classes and not a student there anymore. They are holding my financial aid hostage.Business Response

On January 26, 2023, a Chamberlain advisor emailed Ms. **** explaining the award letter that she received from Chamberlain. Per the ** ********** of Educations Common Origination and Disbursement site, zero loan award amounts have been approved for or disbursed for the time from October 24, 2022, through March 4, 2023, which are the ***** Fall and Spring semesters.
