I enrolled into FNP program at chamberlain university because my corporate office have tuition discounts with them. I have since been on a rollercoaster when it comes to getting approved for my practicum site. I have called ELC multiple times just to be told that the contract is with legal because its a client agreement. 1st I dont even know what that means for me because ***** will call and actually talk to you about anything. I waited on hold this morning for 30 minutes because I was told to call back Wednesday on Monday when I called. The agreement has been completed on my facilities end and I do t know what the hold up is. After speaking ti someone today I found out that basically its wait and see. Now I have done my part, I found a facility, a preceptor and all of the required competencies that were requested. I just dont understand why they take my money if they do not have the man power to complete these contracts and communicate effectively with their paying customers. No other company would get away with the lack of customer service. This will delay my entire educational process that I have worked my **** off for since enrolling. I deserve answers and resolution.

I submitted my application for my preceptor for the upcoming session Sept 4, 2023 weeks ago, about a month in a half ago. I am already being precepted at the facility, just added on another preceptor/ provider and the contract is complete. I keep getting the same response for weeks that Faculty approval is pending. They have all of the documentation needed to approve it. When I call the school, I am unable to speak to any in ELC to get specific information, The calls are transferred to advising or a lot of times do not get an answer at all. It has been very difficult to find preceptors for this program and Chamberlain does not provide much assistance when it comes to finding a preceptor. I have had to sit out multiple sessions already because It has been so hard to secure a preceptor. I do not want to lose my preceptor/ site because Chamberlain is taking so long to approve it, when they have everything needed to approve them. I have also emailed Chamberlain regarding this issue and have not received much assistance regarding this issue.

My experience with this school over the last 4-5 months has been absolutely devastating and horrendous. Starting in May 2023, I was approved to begin my 2nd-to-last FNP class. My practicum site requested an amendment to the contract and would not allow me to start my hours until amended. ELC at Chamberlain took 7 weeks to amend and return the contract forcing me to receive an incomplete in the class. I was actively enrolled in the course at the time and my amendment should have taken first priority over the processing of future practicum applications. As a result, I had to take an incomplete and sit out my last class to finish the hours which I was unable to do, due to my preceptors schedule. I am now having to repeat the entire course and cannot get anyone from the school to return my emails or phone calls. When on hold, I've selected the "call back" option, yet I've never received a call back. I have also submitted support cases to which I receive one reply and my case gets closed, then when I respond to the email, I never hear back and there is no progress made. If someone in the school does not fix this, I could potentially sit out of another session. I should be graduating this weekend, and instead I have to repeat and pay for the 2nd-to-last FNP class through no fault of my own. Then I must still complete the final class. The lack of professionalism and communication, especially for students paying as much as we do, is absolutely astounding and shameful.

I have been enrolled for two sessions at chamberlain. Finally all of the requested verification documents from financial aid were approved. Almost a month later they have not disbursed my funds. There are no holds or restrictions on my account. They said someone will follow up with me in 2-3 business days and no one ever did. The agents claimed the financial manager was working on it and still nothing. I also have emailed the **** who has been in consistent communication with me but still no solution to the problem. I seriously need my funds for living expenses. ******* Campus.

      To whom it may concern:

On behalf of Chamberlain University (Chamberlain), *************** to your request dated August 19, 2023, regarding Chamberlain student ******************

Please see the breakdown and timeline of Ms. **** student account for the ********* Award Year below:

Initial ISIR received 11/9/2022 selected for standard V1 verification (Verification Worksheet and Student Tax Return Transcript requested).
Student submitted a Verification Worksheet and student Wage and Income Transcript on 5/15/2023 (Wage and Income Transcript was unsolicited and submitted by the student on their own doing).
Student submitted the Student Tax Return Transcript on 5/24/2023.
The Verification team received a case on 6/6/2023 requesting that the Tax Return Transcript be reviewed. The Verification team reviewed and responded to the case the same day, 6/6/23.
During the 6/6/2023 review, the following was requested by the Verification team:
Student ****-X: it was identified per the unsolicited Wage and Income Transcript submitted by the student that they did not report their income correctly on their FAFSA so a ****-X was requested. It was also noted that the student may also need to amend their filing status due to filing Head of Household in 2021 but being married and that the decision would be based on the Tax Filing Status Resolution explanation the student provides.
Student Tax Filing Status Resolution: requested due to the student being married but filing Head of Household in 2021.
      Spouse Tax Return Transcript
The student submitted the Tax Filing Status Resolution and Spouse Tax Return Transcript on 7/13/2023.
The Verification team reviewed the account the next day on 7/14/2023 and rejected the Tax Filing Status Resolution for insufficient information (requested the date student separated and date student reconciled).
The student submitted a new Tax Filing Status Resolution on 7/27/2023.
The Verification team reviewed the account the next day on 7/28/2023 and accepted the Tax Filing Resolution but requested that the student and spouse amend their filing statuses due to not being eligible to have filed Head of Household per their Tax Filing Status Resolution explanation. The option was provided to either submit one ****-X amending to Married Filing Jointly or submit a ****-X for the student and a ****-X for the spouse each amending to Married Filing Separately.
The student submitted a Student ****-X on 8/3/2023.
The Verification team reviewed the account the next day on 8/4/2023 and rejected the ****-X due to the marital status not yet being updated (student only corrected the income).
      The student submitted a Student ****-X and a Spouse ****-X on 8/9/2023.
The Verification team reviewed the account on 8/11/2023 and completed verification as all documentation was now sufficient. Corrections had to be sent to CPS, and due to a change in the **** the student could not have their aid disbursed until we received the corrected ISIR. The corrected ISIR was received from CPS on 8/15/2023.
Once the corrected ISIR was received on 8/15/2023, the student was re-packaged on 8/18/2023 and 8/21/2023 and aid was then disbursed on 8/23/2023.

********* has now received her federal financial aid and Chamberlain considers this matter to be closed.

I am at my wits end when it comes to Chamberlain University. I am currently enrolled in their PMHNP program and I have two sessions left before I complete the program. It has been a nightmare not only finding practicum sites but also to get ELC and faculty to approve my practicum rotation on a timely manner. Not only do they not help you find practicum sites, when you pay like I did **** dollars non refundable fee for practicum placement you have to harass them before you are approved and registered . I have paid 5k in total for my last two sessions for practicum placement and my sites are still not approved and I am not registered. If I dont get registered I will have to sit out the semester and pray to god the placement company will accommodate me. Please be aware of this shady school and lack of support.

I am a nurse practitioner student at Chamberlain University. When I applied to this program in December of 2021, I had frequent contact from my advisor, and registration was smooth. Chamberlain is still accepting students into their program today, although they concede that they (currently) do NOT HAVE ADEQUATE STAFF to handle the ** students' practicum registrations and contracts. They are still signing up more students and taking money, though.I am supposed to start my first practicum on Sept 4, 2023. I put in my application in August of 2022 for this practicum. Nevertheless, Chamberlain University allowed their contract with Bon Secours Mercy Health to lapse on July 2, 2023. The last contact that Bon Secours (where my practicum site is located) has had with Chamberlain was on July 17, 2023. *************************** in Chamberlain's contracts division has failed to respond to multiple contact attempts from Bon Secours since July 17, 2023. Unfortunately, when I contact Chamberlain, I get back a response that Bon Secours has the contract for review. THEY DO NOT. Chamberlain last had the ball in their court on July 17, 2023. It is maddening that I am changing my employment status to part-time in 2 weeks in preparation for a practicum that *** not occur! I cannot afford to be part-time status for an extra 8 weeks waiting for Chamberlain to get it together!I cannot sit by and have Chamberlain tell me that it is up to Bon Secours to sign the contract, when Chamberlain hasn't provided the contract! Chamberlain has *********************** 's phone number and email address *********************** Please send the contract to her so that Bon Secours can review it! On Sunday, August 6th, 2023 I was denied practicum placement for NR511 as the preceptor for this course is a Physician's Assistant. This course is to begin the week of September 3rd, 2023. Leaving me less than a month to find a new preceptor for this course, which is nearly impossible. The response I received was via email, there has been zero communication from Chamberlain University via phone regarding this matter. The response read "in ****, FNP students may not be preempted by a PA". This is incorrect per the ***** of ******* in the *************. I was encouraged via email to see if another preceptor at this site was available and to provide any "new" information to support the denied application. Per the ***** of ******* in the *************, a practicum rotation with a PA is acceptable. I have spent a number of hours trying to speak to someone from Chamberlain University on the phone, both the *** team and Academic Advising to no avail. I have attended this school with no issues until these last semesters. From telling me I require tests ,that I paid out of pocket, for clinical sites that I have verified were false. I have submitted information months ago for my last clinical site and was denied before the next session. I have already lost money paying for sites. I have submitted new information for a clinical site which I have paid money to and if I don't get approved I will also lose that money. There is no help with clinical placement. I have emailed various times with no response.

      Complaint: 20431522

I am rejecting this response because:
I have submitted prior documentation for this site and done all the compliance and vaccinations required. I have contacted the site and they have provided all paperwork to me. I have lost my own money trying to apply to this site since I first submitted the application months ago. Thank you.
      Sincerely,

The business addressed the issues within the complaint, but the consumer either a) did not accept the response, OR b) did not notify BBB as to their satisfaction.
      Unanswered:
The business failed to respond to the dispute.
      Unpursuable:
BBB is unable to locate the business.
I have reached out to academic support as well as ELC regarding my registration for my next class. My cases I have opened to get a response have been closed without resolution. I was told once that they are verifying my clinical site but I have been with the same preceptor at the same site for all of my Practicum classes. I have requested answers as I do not want anything to delay my registration in turn delaying my completion date. As students we pay a fee each semester for ELC services and we are not receiving timely responses.
