Pangea *********** (CYM Living) located in ******* and ********* needs some type of immediate intervention. I live at one of the ********* locations on ***************************************** and my branch that I am always transferred to over the phone is the Pangea *********** leasing office at **********************************************. Will not answer phone, will not return voicemails, will not fix the falling ceilings or crumbling walls or leaking ceilings, missing doorknobs, no screens or locks on windows, window frames fall out completely, broken appliances get replaced with old ones from other apartment units, gas is currently off and has been for almost a week now, they let the power be off for days sometimes over a week, they let the water be off for days, they took weeks to fix the hot water tank, they let apartments flood in plumbing emergencies, they do not come out for days when you contact 24hour emergency maintenance, they block payments online, they don't fix holes in structure that leads straight outside, they do nothing about the rodents, they don't notify anyone when bge or construction will be cutting off power or water to do work, they do not answer the door, when they make you pay your rent with money orders it takes over a week for anything to be reflected on your account, filters are not changed, fire extinguishers are not checked, certain wall outlets blow the fuse if anything is plugged up to it and the building has lead, lead dust and black mold says the health department. But if you are two days late with your rent they will come out to stick their version of an eviction notice in your front door. That is the only thing they come out for and on time. I moved into this October 12, 2024. I reported the ***** infestation the same day. I was told I had to wait up to three business days. I bought some RAID and sprayed down the entire kitchen and the bathroom. The culprit was the refrigerator. The back was ripped open and the rubber was ripped off the bottom and the side which is why it has trouble closing all the way and you have to hold the handle as you get something out or it will slam open into the stove. The rubber insulation is gone. Peoples gas activated my gas at that location only to discover that the stove does not work either. I was able to light it with a lighter to get fire, but the pilot would not stay lit and you have to reach under a rusted bottom to try and light the oven. The stove is a death trap! I wanted someone to at least take a look at the ***** infestation and the appliances. No one has called or came to my apartment to address these issues.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: They have not tried to exterminate in my unit and the culprit of the roaches is still in my unit. I spoke with the property manager Monday, October 21, 2024. She informed me to buy my own refrigerator. I said that's fine if I can buy another used refrigerator and take it out of my rent money. The response was "No". Her other option was for me to wait 30 days for a new refrigerator by CYM Living, LLC. They did send maintenance to fix the stove, but I don't want to store food in a actively ***** infested refrigerator. I'm still stuck!

Apartment rental. My apartment is infested with these ants with wings. The issue started on 09/27/24. I saw them appear and just killed them. I came home from work yesterday and they were all over the apartment per the attached pictures. I tried calling management and they didnt answer the phone. This morning I waited outside the office and the manager claims that she had been there the whole time even though the door was locked. This infestation is in my drains and my they came up thru the heating vents. I was told that I have to wait for two weeks before anything can be done. I was told that that exterminator s job is to clear mouse traps only. And I called an external exterminator, and they told me to contact the property. The manager is rude and not very helpful at all. I am expected to just tolerate this pests for two weeks and that no one else has complained.Business Response

On Friday 10/04, I emailed the tenant to let her know I was trying to get in contact with her, She replied with her new phone number and called the office. The tenant gave us access to enter at 4pm. Maintenace Gerardo and I entered, Gerardo vacuumed all dead and alive flying ants, he sealed one window with clear plastic hoping that was how they were entering the unit and installed The Home Depot bait. All while the tenant was in the unit. I asked her to let me know on Monday 10/07 if things were any better.
This morning the tenant sent an email that the plastic did not help, and the flying ants were in the unit. I called for an emergency pest control service. Ahern exterminator just left, he put bait down and said to tell her to give it a few days. Maintenance Gerardo is also taking down the floor heaters to caulk around the cord and any other cracks. My property manager the new one at least is really rude I have screenshots as well of her threatening legal action because I lost my job in June and Its not like I'm not paying my rent I am by rental assistance and I am really trying to get caught up and on track I believe in paying my bills on time so for her to stereotype me because of my age and race and we are the same race is insane she's super rude when A the building call box doesn't work B. I have had my mail stolen by other tenants on several occasions C. My fridge doesn't work D. I have roaches and mice run behind my stove and E. you all lost and claim you haven't received a direct deposit from in the amount of 1023 from the state of ******** when I have the payment proof that it was sent and posted and it has yet to be applied to my ledger and she threatening until Monday. I have wanted to sue on several occasions and if she keep harassing me instead of helping I'm considering it I have screenshots . I believe in working and paying my bills on time so stereotyping me and she's a property manager when my last property manager did nothing but help me try to get back on track after I been told you all back in July that I lost my job I have been communicating with CYM living very thoroughly and have been applying to rental assistance program to help me get it down to a reasonable amount that I actually can pay myself . And her threatening $1700 out of me by Monday when y'all have a whole $1023 payment that has been sent several times and every time you all claim you don't have it when I know you all do it has been electronic transferred into CYM LIVING LLC account . I have asked to get in contact with headquarters as the treatment and harassment by her is unacceptable and the living conditions are insane but please apply the payment to my ledger or find it rather I know my tenant laws very well and I am very knowledgeable.Business Response

Date: 8/12/24 I moved into an apartment with CYM living, and a few months after moving in I discovered there were mice droppings on the stove, inside the stove, and on kitchen counter. I was told by the property manager that the reason it occurred was because a previous tenant that stayed under me was the cause of this. Pest control was sent out to resolve and photos were taken that shows evidence that there are mice droppings inside of the stove. This issue has been ongoing for almost a month, and no one has contacted me to replace the stove. It is very unsanitary to have a stove that contains mice droppings especially if you have a child and you cant cook on it. I have not been able to cook on my stove for almost a month. I will never rent an apartment with CYM living ever again after this!!Business Response

I've complained about a noisy neighbor since September of 2023 this is when they moved in. Since then, there have been issues with this tenant having serval parties going into the next weekday. Party could start Monday afternoon and won't end until 5am on Tuesday. And this is a weekly and ongoing thing. The police and been called to this building countless of times and they have only asked them to turn the music down. I've been out on anxiety medication due to this and are now taking sleeping pills to go to sleep. I sometimes to have to leave my apartment and go to a loved ones **** I order to be able to sleep throughout the night. I've also been asked to get a hotel room until the party was over. I will not leave the comfort of my own where I pay rent to get rest. I should not have to do that! This company isn't doing anything and I've sent them audio and videos of this constantly happening.Business Response

The first issue was upon signing my lease I was told heat was included in my rent. After moving in and receiving a $500 light bill I was informed that I was wrongly informed because no one update the housing plan in the system that my heat was not included in my rent. The second issue is maintenance is sweeping trash against my doors both back and front. I come home and there is trash swept against my front door and my front door smells like a dirty mop was slung against it. Then I go out my back door and there is trash swept against my back door along with dead bugs. The third issue is the roaches. There are 2 inch roaches in my home. I calle to get them exterminated and ** told to wait 3 business days even though I have a 4 year old. I killed 1 of the roaches and I come home and the same ***** I killed at the top of the steps are now against my backdoor. My home has not been exterminated. The 4th issue is the mold. I informed them of mold and gaps in my apartment they painted over the mold and said it was fixed but the mold is back. No one is cleaning or fixing anything properly. I paid my security deposit May ******* I was suppose to move in on June 5.On the 2nd of June they called me stating they have court and cannot let me proceed with my move in and that my security deposit will be returned. Its now August 13th and I still have not received the money. They cut my electricity off and the maintenance people keep closing the work orders but my electricity still isnt on. ComEd didnt disconnect my electricity, and they said my electricity is active and my meter is working. It is a building issue. The property managers phone is disconnected so he cant be reached. They told me the Zone leader *** wont be able to reach out to me for 1-3 business days. I have children and all of my food in the freezer and fridge has gone bad due to no electricity. Its hot in my unit and we are unable to use fans and have to rely on the air coming in from outside. I had to drive to my moms house just to charge my phone. This is so ridiculous and they keep telling me its a ComEd issue when its not.Business Response

I have been approved for rental assistance through CBRAP and another non-profit both have sent checks out CBRAP July 17th and the non-profit back in June for a substantial amount my ledger has yet to be updated and that check from the non-profit came from the state I am already going through eviction court but since my CBRAP was approved all eviction proceedings are supposed to stop , I am thinking about filing a civil law suit because none of this money have been applied to my ledger and I am wondering are you all keeping it and not updating it because you want me out but it is against the law and my rent payments were made up until my lease ends in September. I am trying to find a way to get in touch with the corporate office to get some sort of resolution before I resort to filing a civil suit.Business Response
