On Feb 03, 2023 I purchased a transmission, in cash as I was told by the salesman it was easier, from this business for a 2014 **** Fiesta. I paid a higher price ($1,525.29) for the part because it came with a one year warranty in case anything went wrong with the transmission after installment, since this is often the case. My mechanic installed the transmission and everything was working fine. He took it on a test drive without any issues, and I drove it home, a 28 mi trip, again with ***********. The next time I used the car it randomly stoped accelarating while on the freeway, I had to pull over and put it in park and then shift back to drive before it would accelerate again. But when I got off the freeway it was no longer doing the first and second shift properly. The car would stall everytime it hit 20mph and again at 30 mph. I started driving the vehicle to my mechanic but by the time I arrived the car would no longer accelerate past 30 mph and would continue to stall at 20mph. We contacted the company shortly after to ask how we proceed on redeeming the waranty and getting a new part since this one was clearly faulty. They proceeded to ask questions and then claim that because the part was not installed at an actual shop that the waranty was not valid. Despite the fact that the sales man was aware the vehicle was being fixed at my mechanics home before the sale was made and failed to point out that this was a supposed part of their waranty rules. Not to mention my mechanic is fully licensed and has been practicing for at least 20 years and knows exactly what he is doing. They also talked to him about how he fixed the vehicle and when they found no issues they tried to claim he said he wasn't a real mechanic when I went to demand they honor their waranty in person. He never said this because he is in fact a real mechanic and has been for 20 years. They claimed they would look deeper into the issue and get back to us with a solution but have yet to reach out.

      Good day,

I have reviewed the claim notes for the warranty claim submitted on your behalf. The claim was denied because the the dry clutch failed. This clutch is not covered under the warranty as it is a normal wear item tha needs to be replaced. If you refer to the invoice you submitted, you will see notes explaining that. Those notes are "DRY CLUTCH, TCM AND ALL EXTERNAL SENSORS OR ACTUATORS SUPPLIED WITH THIS TRANS ARE NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. PROGRAMMING AND ALL ADAP".

I purchased a used low mileage(49,654 mi) transmission/transaxle assembly for a 2014 **** Focus on January 30th 2023. The price was $2701.00 plus $320.00 shipping for a total $3187.16 with tax. The part arrived at my house on February 14th missing the Shift controller/TCM. I immediately contacted LKQ to let them know it was missing. LKQ requested pictures and an explanation of the problem. ************************* from LKQ called me today with a response. He said because the Shift controller wasn't warranted it wasn't included. I understand no warranty but I was not sent a complete transmission/transaxle assembly like I purchased. If LKQ doesn't plan to send the entire assembly then they need to note that on the part listing. The Shift controller is the part that actually shifts this transmission from gear to gear. ****** said I could ship the transmission back at my own cost and also be charged a $320 restocking fee.

We're sorry you've had such a frustrating experience. The Transmission control module is an externally mounted part that is not included as part of the sale. You will need to use the module from your previous transmission or purchase a new one.

I am rejecting this response because:  The part you sold me was advertised as a transmission/transaxle assembly.  The ******* dictionary definition of assembly is :"the fitting together of manufactured parts into a complete machine". I am rejecting this response because:

I have already supplied the definition of what a transmission/transaxle assembly is showing it is *******************.  I also have shown proof of how other reputable parts supply businesses advertise their transmissions when they have removed the ***/Shift control assembly.  Yet LKQ keeps referring to a warranty document that they sent to me 5 days after I ordered and was charged for the transmission assembly.  Their tact is saying if we don't warranty a part they aren't supplying it.  Yet they advertised a complete transmission assembly and sent me a part that won't work without finding and adding additional parts namely the ***.  I feel LKQ should hold to their word of what they advertised and send me the *** off this transmission or a working substitute.  Not tell me if I'm not satisfied to send pay a $320 restocking fee and pay $300 to ship it back to them.

I bought a transmission for almost $2,000. My son drove the car for 3 months just around the city and the transmission went out. We put in for the warranty and they denied it saying that too many miles were put on it. The sales rep that filled out the warranty asked how many miles my son drove and he thought that the transmission started with ****** miles so he told him 98,000-99,000 and the rep said we'll put *******. Apparently the transmission started with ****** miles. ***** is no way that he drove ***** miles in three months and why the re[ added miles to what my son told him. The warranty department called my son and asked him some questions and said that they will call him when they get another transmission for him. He assumed that the warranty was good. They never even had the decency to call and tell us that they denied it. We went back to the office and asked what was going on and they said the warranty was denied. The sales rep said he could file it again. I said please do so. He didn't file it while we were there so my son didn't know how many miles he put down. The warranty department called him the next day and said that it was up the the manager if it is approved and they will call him back. Again they never called him back. My son has left messages to his sales rep and he does not call him back. We are going to have to go back to the office again to see what can be done because it's not ok to pay $2,000 for 3 months of use.

( Reference invoice # *********) I have purchased a ****** versa transmission from LKQ . As my mechanic insisted and provided this reference i purchased this CVT from LKQ. I also purchased additional warranty by paying $500 Upon installing, i noticed the similar jerking issue and i realized i was being cheated and took my car to ****** showroom for diagnostics and they gave me the report that CVT is non functioning or faulty Then i called LKQ for warranty claim and they asked me to go to mechanic as they want some detail and i reached out to same old mechanic and gave all his details to LKQ and its been more than a week. Here is the short summary Now i have faulty transmission in my car and i want to fix it permanently and properly but no response from LKQ I thought i will talk to LKQ warranty team and i was told the only person who will be accessible is the same sales person. My Mechanic says keep the car with same condition as LKQ might send people to validate if the car is really faulty. I really hate going to LKQ because im sure they will supply faulty CVT again and i need to go through a long fitting process. The customer ********************** in ********************** is not at all friendly at all. Im so fed up and i would really need a refund as i dont want to do further business with LKQ.Again i would like to re-iterate I do have a car with faulty transmission and i have 1 year warranty and i dont want refund. I also want to fix my car with ****** showroom as i dont tryst LKQ anymore

LKQ Warranty Claim number WC131810, LKQ Warranty Administrator ******** "TJ" ******. I am having an issue with the warranty on my remanufactured engine due to a manufacture defect. I installed the LKQ remanufactured engine and immediately noticed an oil leak, from the back of the engine. I took the truck to ******************************** and they told me the rear main seal was not seated properly and that the brand new clutch would also have to be replaced due to it being oil soaked. LKQ warranty is only wanting to pay 6.4 hours at $95/hr and also pay parts on this repair, the repair that was performed at ********************************************* was $1512.34 to include parts and labor. I have yet to receive any reimbursement, or told the amount that LKQ is going to pay.The engine barely has ***** miles on it and I am loosing money due to LKQ's poor quality control during the remanufacturing process! After speaking with my LKQ Technician and not getting anywhere with him I requested to speak with a supervisor which I have yet to be able to speak with someone. I also called back today 2/10/23 and spoke to *** "G" is all he would tell me, I requested to speak with a supervisor again and he said that he would not get a supervisor on the phone that he would pass them a message to call me back.A newly remanufactured engine should be free from manufacture defects, or if there are manufacture defects/poor quality control then LKQ should pay the full amount of the repair. This started immediately after installing the engine not ******* miles later!

I ordered two brand-new headlamp assemblies for my ****** Xterra by phone on 9/7/22 from LKQ Auto Parts, aka Keystone, in ***********. I drove from ******** to *********** to pick up the parts personally when they arrived and paid with my ************** debit card. The transaction posted on 9/15/2022. I dropped the headlamps off, still in sealed cartons, at Crash Champions in ********, the body shop that was working on my vehicle. The body shop called to say one of the assemblies in the sealed carton had previously been opened. The plastic wrapping had been removed and a vital component was missing. I called Keystone and spoke to *****************************, who had sold me the parts. He said he would charge me for a used part, instead of the new part I ordered and paid for, if I replaced the missing component. What he didnt tell me is that the missing component was no longer available, not even from ******. I left messages for **********************, who on an earlier phone call, rudely told me to lose his number. I explained the situation (again) on his voicemail and asked for a full refund. My last call to him was on September 20. He never returned my calls. I filed a dispute with my bank, Sunflower, on 9/23/22. THIS COMPANY HAS ALWAYS OFFERED AS AN OPTION, THE PURCHASE OF AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE PARTS THEY SELL. ON 1/22/2023 I MADE A PURCHASE FOR 2 COMPLETE DOORS AND WHEN I PAID FOR THE TRANSACTION I NOTICED ON MY RECEIPT THAT HAD BEEN CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $51 FOR EXTENDED WARRANTIES WHICH I DID NOT WANT. I INMEDIATELY TOLD THE CLERK I DID NOT WANT THE WARRANTY AND SHE STATED THAT SHE COULD NOT REMOVE THE CHARGE AND THAT I SHOULD HAVE TOLD HER BEFORE HAND THAT I DID NOT WANT THE WARRANTY. I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER OF THIS PLACE FOR MANY YEARS AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS ASKED IF I WANTED THE WARRANTY PRIOR TO COLLECTING PAYMENT FROM ME. THIS IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE DONE. I THEN ASKED JUST TO CANCEL THE WHOLE TRANSACTION AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT CANCEL THE ***** THEY ARE BASICALLY FORCING PEOPLE TO BUY THEIR WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE BIG SIGNS EVERYWHERE WHERE IT CLEARLY SAYS THE EXTENDED WARRANTY IS ''CUSTOMER'S OPTION". THERE WERE MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THE EMPLOYEES THERE WERE RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. ONE SECURITY GUARD TOLD ME THAT EVER SINCE THE COMPANY GOT A NEW OWNER THEY SELL THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WITHOUT ASKING THE CUSTOMER FIRST. MANY PEOPLE NOW LEAVE THAT PLACE NOT EVEN KNOWING THEY WERE CHARGED FOR SOMETHING THEY DID NOT WANT. THEY ALSO NOW CHARGE WHAT THEY CALL "ENVIROMENTAL FEE" WHICH IN MY CASE WAS $18 WHICH WAS EXPLAINED TO ME AS BEING A FEE THEY CHARGE TO KEEP THE YARD CLEAN WHICH IS WRONG BECAUSE THEY ARE BASICALLY MAKING THE CUSTOMERS NOW PAY FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THEIR PLACE OF BUSINESS. THEY CHARGE $3 JUST TO BE ABLE TO ENTER THE ****** I ASK THAT THE BBB INVESTIGAGTES THESE SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES AND HOPEFULLY THIS PLACE CONDUCTS BUSINESS THE WAY THEY USED IN THE PAST AND I ASK FOR THE RETURN OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FEES WHICH I DID NOT WANT OR NEED.

I am replying to the message from the business on this email.  I had not seen their reply until now.  They claim that the signs "clearly" state that the warranty will be automatically added unless we tell the cashier we do not want it before hand.  Theres no way the customer, while standing in line to pay can read these signs fine print. the only thing we can see from that distance is the bigger letters that say that the warranty is ****************.  This past friday I was at this business again and purchase a small plastic part and told the cashier no warranty. as I walked out I noticed he added the warranty anyways.  I complained to the guy at the door and again I was told they could not refund that even though I had told the cashier I did not want it.  i believe these cashiers are trained to force these warranties on people even though most parts do not need warranty like for instance a square piece of plastic i purchased. Another customer told me outside that when you tell them you do not want the warranty the cashiers will jack up the price of the part or charge you for something more expensive.  Maybe we should video record these crooks to bring them to justice. I hope the BBB gets enough compalints about these shady business practices and take the proper action.
