I had a water problem on Father's Day and I called Tiger Plumbing. They told me it would be a $99 service charge to send someone out and that would be above the other service charges. Within 45 minutes, they sent a guy to help me, he looked around and I told him let me take you upstairs to show you the problem. He said that I am not a plumber. They will have to send someone out tomorrow because I am not the plumber. They sent him out to get the $99! When you call you are speaking to a different person. The guy came out on Monday. I talked to Justin and I told him I smell a rat here and see the game. They play a big game. I told him what I needed done. He said we can put the thing on and stop the water, $300 something dollars. I told him since my washer/dryer upstairs, I need cutoff valves for them. What is the price to do this and told me the price would be $1,299.73. I told him ok, I can do it. The young man said he would have to pick up the parts. There was nothing on the truck. The young guy did a good job. He said he would have to cut a hole in the wall. I said the guy told me he wouldn't have to do this. He put a plastic door over the hole. I was pleased with his work. Afterwards he went out to the truck and came back and said I owe $1750 approximately. He said a guy came and did work previously. I told him I'm not going to pay this. I got a call that I owed more than $1,299.73. I told the rep to talk to the guy who did the work. It's a sham company, don't do any business with them.
I didn't get my veteran's discount and did not get a receipt for the work.
I would like a receipt of work done and a warranty on the work done.

Tiger Services, LLC was at the home of **** ****** on June 18, 2023, for a leak on the washing machine hose bib. On a recorded line ***** ****** agreed to repair of the hose bib and hoses in the amount of $453.22. On June 19,2023 Tiger Services, LLC installer was at the home of ***** ****** for repair. While at the home of ***** ******** an additional repair was added on another recorded line for a shut off valve and access panel in the amount of $1,752.95 in addition to the original work of the hose bibs and hose. ***** ****** paid $1,752.95 and denied payment for hose bibs and hoses (which was already completed). Customer care manager called to get payment as well as offered to play recording to ***** ****** at that time customer became angry, said he would not pay any more money and hung up. The original service fee was waived due to work being involved and ***** ****** received a 5% military discount.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 07/19/2023

      1. Price Gouging - charging customer too high a price for goods and services.

      2. Unethical Practices

      A. Taking advantage of customers of misfortune

      B. Overbilling clients

      C. Lying about what was agreed upon for them to do the job and the stated or agreed price.

After two options, the final price for them to do the job as agreed upon for the washing machine hose BIBB (2) and he installation of shut off valve - combined with installing emergency water cutoffs in the washing room was quoted to be $1,299.73 including tax.  The worker, ***** ****** - telephone # ************ can verify this because my iPhone had too much static and we could not hear clearly so we used his phone and we both heard what needed to be done and the total amount of $1,299.73 agreed upon from his company.  After the two parties agreement, he did and completed the work.

You also need to talk to the guy that came to collect the $1,299.73 by American Express card on 6/20/2023.  I never received a receipt of payment nor warranty for labor.  They received their money.  I have proof of that!

The first quote from Tiger Plumbing Co.

      ***** * ******* ******* **** **** ***

Removal of the existing shut off valve and the installation includes two all brass washing machine hose shut offs test

      Cash - Subtotal      $453.22

                 Estimated Tax - 0.00

                 Total            $453.22

The above is a quote and option from Tiger Plumbing Co. that was stated to me.  I have a copy of it on my iPhone!

The above work was not done when quoted on 6/19/2023 for that amount!

No previous work was done at my home or residence and I didn't agree to anything previously.

I told them what I needed done and asked them to give me a price to have that done.

A complete turn to cut on and off emergency valves in the washing room was asked for and the company rep (Justin) told me that combined with the removal of the previous shut off valves and replacements of both with the complete emergency water cut offs in the washing room would be much more at ta total amount of $1,299.73 including tax and that was what I agreed on with the worker (***** ******) standing there hearing the complete conversation.

They stated or said, "***** ****** paid $1,752.95 and denied payment for hose bib (2) and hoses (which was already completed)."  That's totally not true.

1.) I never paid $1,752.95 - that's the amount they were trying to collect from me.  I only paid the $1,299.73 which was quoted to me for the complete job.

2.) No previous work or job was never completed at my home or residence by Tiger Plumbing until ***** ****** did the job I agreed to on 6/19/2023, for $1,299.73.

This could be confirmed with Mr. ***** ****** the plumber that did the complete work on 6/19/2023.  It took him forty-five (45) minutes to one (1) hour to do the complete job after he went to ***** or **** ***** to get the parts.

The amount of $1,299.73 was paid the next day 6/20/2023 on my American Express card.  I have the American Express statement to verify that they are lying and getting their lies mixed up with their figures.

We paid for a new unit to be put in our house. After 13 service calls the unit still does not work properly. The unit has caused damaged to our property, and has went out leaving my home in 80+ degrees. Multiple calls have been made to the project manager and to customer support. With no return calls and a whole lot of IDK.

On 5/23/2023 I contacted Tiger to do some electrical work on my home. They assured me they could diagnose my electrical problem, install a light fixture, condense and electrical box from a three toggle to a two toggle, and move another box over an inch to make room for a switch cover. They quoted me $2,363.55 for all work needed. I accepted this bid. The next day they came to complete work. At this time, they fixed the electrical issue which was only a gfci put in backwards and installed light fixture. They proceeded to tell my mother they cannot move electrical boxes or condense switches thus they could not complete my quoted list. First, they showed up four hours earlier than agreed so I wasn't even home at the time, only my mother was. Secondly, I repeatedly called to ask about a refund for the work they didn't complete. After several attempts, I asked for an itemized statement. I received a statement only showing "Quantity 1" instead of an actual price for each individual job they quoted me. I reached out again and, a month later, no one responded to my request for refund of work not completed. They did fix my electrical issue and install light fixture, but they did not complete the other 2 tasks they quoted me for as a total price. They never gave me an individual quote for each item. The only thing they did say that it was $1,100 for the diagnostic for my electrical problem so that means I paid an additional $1,300 to replace an existing light fixture and to move 2 boxes which they did not do after they said they could easily complete those tasks. Thus, they showed up at a different time and didn't complete all work as agreed, but forced my mother to sign off on incomplete work. She did not hire them, I did. I only want a refund for the work they did not complete. On invoice they did not trim down 2 light switch covers to fit and did not install the duplex receptacle.

I way overpaid Tiger to install a new HVAC. I also purchased a maintenance agreement. They came to do a service of furnace and pointed out a leaky faucet. I agreed to let them fix it, although I thought it was a bit pricey. As soon as they left, I noticed that I had virtually no water pressure. I called them. They came out and insisted that my new issue had nothing to do with anything they did and then proceeded to tell me it would cost $9000 to fix the problem. I called a local plumber who came out and found that the water valve was turned off, as a result of previous work by plumber. I was also told that I did not need a new water heater, but if I did replace it, it would cost $900. They turned off my water and then tried to gouge me out of $9000 to fix it! Criminals that should be arrested! It cost me $50 service charge to have my water valve turned back on.

The file provided is an image they took to show me why I needed to fork out $9000. It actually shows the valve is closed.

I was seeking an estimate for air duct and dryer vent cleaning services. Having not had this service before, I called Tiger Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, & Electrical Services (hereinafter "Tiger") on April 3, 2023 for a price estimate. During this call Tiger advised that they would need to visit the property in order to provide an accurate estimate ahead of providing the service.

On April 4, 2023 Tiger visited my home. The representative completed the inspection of the property. He then told me I had to pay a $99 for 'diagnostic and fuel surcharge fees'. I was shocked as I was unaware there was any fee required.

After inquiring with their representative further, he contacted someone at the business who (1) confirmed this fee; (2) said that I was 'on a recording' agreeing to this fee; and (3) threatened that a 'lien' would be placed on my home if I did not pay the fee. I asked for a copy of this supposed recording of me agreeing to these terms and received no response. However, I paid the fee as invoiced and advised Tiger, through their representative, that I would be disputing the charges as I felt that this was a scam given that I vehemently dispute being made aware, or ever agreeing to, paying such a fee.

During initial booking of the job requested the customer actually asked about the $99 before Tiger representative explained it. Call is attached and has been played for the customer. Gave $99 refund.

During initial call to schedule appointment the customer asked about the $99 fee. Tigers' representative explained what the $99 fee was. Call is attached.  The $99 was refunded.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 04/11/2023

      ********** ********

I am rejecting this response because: the vendor is inaccurate in their claim that the fee incurred was for an agreed upon service. I was looking to hire Tiger for a specific service -- air vent and dryer vent cleaning -- and I inquired about whether or not a recent special I had heard of was applicable i.e. a $99 special.

Tiger claims that this discussion about the cleaning request for $99 was actually about the 'diagnostic' appointment which they required in order to provide an estimate for the cleaning service request. It was not. They never disclosed that there was a charge for the diagnostic, nor did I agree to pay for an appointment for Tiger to simply visit my home to provide an estimate for the services I was seeking.

Tiger has now refunded me for the $99 fee imposed. However, I remain dissatisfied because Tiger continues to misrepresent the facts of this matter and I believe this may be an ongoing practice with this business.

I am the daughter and caregiver for my 76 year old mother who has Lupus and difficulty walking. She is the legal decision-maker to sign for work to be done. Our old electric box shorted out the HVAC system. The HVAC Tech highly advised a new electric box. No pressure selling.

So, on October 13, 2022 we spent $17,918.57 ($200 a month on the loan) for a new electric box AND replace/installation of all plumbing under the house.

In December 22 the front toilet gurgled. They sent "Tech 1" to investigate. Long story short he said after talking to his manager that our line needed to be dug up for the cost of $10,000 per 25 feet with the possibility of needing to go the full 150 feet BEHIND the house. My mom DECLINED and Tech 1 left the toilet securing screw broken so the toilet wobbled. I told the project manager and he said they would send a Tech out. His high-pressure sales tactics angered me and I forbid them to come onto our property.

We paid ********* ******** $400 to snake the outside line at the FRONT of the house and it was fine.

Because of the warranty, when the front toilet started gurgling again, I called on Monday March 13. They sent Tech 2 (the next day) out to FIX what Tech 1 broke in December. They were to send out a Tech on Thursday March 16 to snake the drain. THEY SENT TECH 1 THAT CAUSED THE DAMAGE THAT TECH 2 JUST FIXED! I went outside to see if he needed me to flush the toilet. He was on the phone and at the area they wanted to dig up in December. I told him we weren't going to dig up that area and TO LEAVE and send someone out that doesn't break things. HE NEVER TURNED OFF HIS PHONE. I let him know the damage he did and never swore at him.

Tiger's customer service is lacking in SERVICE to customers. She tried to shame me by saying (THREE times in the conversation) that I had to "not be aggressive" towards the Techs. Tech 1 spent 10 minutes in our yard (not gathering tools) before he left. They are sending out yet another Tech on 3/18.

I purchased a home that needed a lot of work, I hired Tiger to do electrical work, install new water lines, and install a new water. The water heater came with a 10 year tank, parts, and labor warranty. The job was finished on 12/8/2020 costing a little over $19,000. Within 90 days I had to call Tiger out because the hot water heater wasn't keeping water hot longer than 5 minutes. Their solution to that problem was to swap out the water heater for another water heater of the same brand. That seemed to resolve the issue. A year goes by and I get a call that its time for my annual water heater flush. They flushed the water heater and told me that there was a lot of sediment in the water heater and that I should consider getting a filtration system for the water heater. I declined and shortly after that flush my water heater is struggling to keep water hot for longer than 5 minutes. I called Tiger back out and they tell me that everything is testing properly and that it is a sediment issue in the water heater and that I need a $13,000 filtration system and water softener. While reconnecting the water heater they broke it and had to replace it with a new one of the same brand. After they left I had the same problem of water not staying hot longer than 5 minutes. They've been to my home at least 3 different times and every time they say there is nothing wrong with my water heater. I talked to the manager **** who informed me that everything is "operating properly" and I informed him that I cannot run a hot bath. He has accused my water lines (that they installed) of being bad, he then accused the water from the city as the culprit but none of my neighbors who receive the same water as me have water heater issues or even filtration systems. So I'm trying to understand why the only solution to my hot water issue with a 1 month old water heater is to purchase a $13,000 filtration system or a $2,000 gas water heater even though I already have gas hookup for the water heater.

We called them on Monday and couldn’t get an appointment until Wednesday. The guy came out Wednesday and looked and said it was an easy fix and a pipe needed to be replaced. We had to wait until Monday to get that done. This was since they had emergency calls which they should of told us from the get go. So we waited around all day today and they said when they tried to call and didn’t get an answer they cancelled the call to look at a the new problem. But did not have an record of having us down for a repair. Not good business and on top of that very poor customer service

The work is not up to ******** Building Code, as I've had another plumbing company take a look at the work.
There were several factors that arose during the bidding process including your company quoted one price, but changing it, because as quoted by **** "We sent out the wrong person to quote the job and they underbid it- specifically the replacement of a portion of the homes "stack."

Stack: The original homes cast iron stack was cut to replace a portion, but according to ******** Code you can not cut into a cast iron stack and replace it with PVC and not replace the entire pipe, which means it has to be replaced now again, because. it is not up to code.
Also when the stack was replaced, it damaged the bottom portion the drain because according to an inspector, it was put in with too much force: which is now causing the bottom of the stack to leak waste back into the basement.

Water lines/Main level bathroom: The bid was also to add new water lines to the entire home and they were not completed. There was no water line ran to the refrigerator.
The company had to come out three times for the bathroom lines and are all incomplete. The company cut the vanities initial drain line that was in the middle of the floor without permission and after I pointed this out, the plumbers proceeding to add a drain line in the bathroom wall, ran the copper pipes and PVC pipe out of the wall for the drain, but did not add any shut-off water valves or water line. (The PVC drain pipe that was ran was also stuffed into the other pipe and not glued or secured.

The bathtub was also installed and did not have any shut-off vales, only the copper pipes. The drain line that Tiger installed is also incomplete as it runs to the basement and is not tied in to the stack, which leaves the water to drain directly to the floor.
Basement Drain Line: When Tiger added in the waterlines in the basement, they cut/riped the drain line for my washer so there is no working drain line.

Tiger will not accept jobs or perform work if it is below code. Tiger senior plumbers were on the job ensuring the work was to code. At no point did Tiger send the wrong person to bid the work. *** ****** initial request only included plumbing and sewer, not HVAC. HVAC tech was sent when HVAC became part of the discussion. The initial evaluation of the property could not be completed fully as *** ******** basement was under multiple feet of water and needed pumped out first. The stack was on the end of the affected basement and could not be evaluated. ******** code allows for special fittings, fernco, missionbands, etc, to be used when tying on to cast iron based on municipality. Waterlines were completed in full; refrigerator lines are a non-standard accessory/appliance line and were not included in the scope of work per the language of the invoice agreed upon. Throughout the job Tiger Plumbers performed multiple free installations, to include but not limited to shower valve installation, yard leveling after sewer dig (the portion Tiger refunded as *** ****** stated she was going to perform this herself), multiple secondary drain lines, roughing in frame for the shower *** ****** had yet to install with the above shower valve and water lines. *** ******** home did not have the plumbing fixtures installed to tie anything on to. The work was left at rough-in state as communicated, upon agreement of work. The secondary line was another item not agreed upon that Tiger Services installed at no cost to *** ******* The secondary line is not located near the stack. Overall, the amount of work Tiger performed at no cost was in excess of $5,000.00. In addition, deep discounts were negotiated before the work was performed. When Tiger arrived, *** ****** underpaid $6,700.00 before the work was completed. Tiger made good faith efforts to resolve any issues *** ****** felt important, with an inspector on site and *** ****** declined.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Compensation for damages have not been discussed or received.  I was notified on Friday 10/7/22 that there would be a phone call to me on Monday regarding total compensation. Also, the company had technicians at my home on Friday and they notified me not to turn my heater on until they had someone come out to look at it to ensure no damage was done.  I had 2 other technicians from the company out on Monday 10/10/22 and they were not here to assess the heater, it was for drainage issues, which had flooded my furnace room and ultimstely caused water to go into the bottom of the furnance. I have yet to have received a call to schedule this.

I also have spoke with multiple individuals with the company regarding their policy of proper foot wear being worn within job site homes or the job cost is free. This has happened on multiple occasions, one of which occured Friday 10/7/22 ( they are not aware of that incident as no one has returned my call), but I did notify the technicians that were here Monday of the incident.

      Sincerely,

      ******* ******
