I visited Walgreens to purchase a heating pad for my elderly mother using an OTC benefits card. Unfortunately, the heating pad did not work properly, so I returned to the store for a refund. However, the shift leader, head cashier, and store manager insisted that the refund could only be issued on a Walgreens gift card.OTC benefits are designated for specific health and wellness products and should be refunded to the original benefits card per policy to ensure proper use. Despite this, the store staff were unhelpful, uninformed, and dismissive when I explained the issue. The manager, in particular, spoke at me rather than to me, failing to provide the level of customer service one should expect. If I had accepted the Walgreens gift card, I could have used it to purchase alcohol, beer, wine, cigarettes, candy, junk food, or even toysnone of which align with the intent of OTC benefits or government mandates. This would have directly violated the purpose of the program, which is to ensure funds are used strictly for approved health and wellness products.Thankfully, I remained patient and advocated for the correct resolution. After an uncomfortable interaction, the store manager ultimately figured out how to process the refund correctly. However, she did not acknowledge her mistake, offer an apology, or take responsibility for the confusion. My only goal was to have the funds returned to the correct payment method so I could purchase a better-suited heating pad for my mother ************ customer should have to endure this kind of dismissive treatment, especially when simply asking for a policy-compliant resolution. Walgreens needs to ensure their staff are properly trained on OTC benefit transactions and, more importantly, on providing respectful customer service.

This place is a joke and I'll never use Walgreens again. I have had my prescription filled here twice since I've moved to the area. I call to make sure it is ready to be picked up the third time and I am told it's out of stock, which is fine I will have it transferred. Then I'm told they can't have it transferred and that my ** didn't put two pieces of information down that he had put down because I have the paperwork showing it. Then the pharmacist changes it and says only one piece of information is missing. These people just want to pick and choose and discriminate on people based on age and diagnosis. I have never had a red flag on my prescriptions, nor have I ever picked up early and they aren't the doctors who diagnose the patients so they should not be allowed to act as though they are. If needed I will post my paperwork and prescriptions in the photos to show that this place is out of line. I really don't care about personal information being shared when places like this treat their customers this way. I was also told that I could not have the medication transferred but according to the final rule act that is not true. Under the final rule, a prescription can only be transferred once between pharmacies, and only if allowed under existing state or other applicable law. The prescription must remain in its electronic form; may not be altered in any way; and the transfer must be communicated directly between two licensed pharmacists.

I have patronized Walgreens for several years. I have seasonal allergies and purchased a Vicks nasal inhaler for ***** on 3/9/25. I was able find a nasal spray that works which happens to be bought on the same receipt. I say this because I feel that Walgreens punishes their paying customers. I tried to return the product on 3/23 for ***** with the original receipt and it is unopened. I was immediately told I must produce my government id before they will issue a refund!!! I understand loss prevention however Walgreens should understand when our personal information is not protected and kept in their files or records to be breached or compromised! I have been a victim of identity theft & had to go through all the challenges to prove who I'am because someone decided to use my credentials and open accounts in my name. ********************** will no longer get my business! They refuse to refund my money back on my FSA card. I wonder how many other people experience this treatment at store # ***** Walgreens ***************************************. Unsatisfied customer

I have my medications set to auto refill and be delivered. My insurance is on file and has been used for every medication and medication refill for multiple years. However the last time they delivered it they did not run it through insurance and instead charged me the full amount. When I found it on my credit card statement and called them their response was that it was too late now, that it was my fault for not catching it before and to take it up with my insurance company and try to get reimbursed. Rather hard to catch it on an auto-refill that is delivered to your house, not like you are standing in front of the register and hearing the obscene amount they were going to charge. So they screwed up by not running it through my insurance, they blamed me when I called them out on it to get it fixed and when I reached out to the corporate customer service they were zero help - just vague statements about how they will make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else in the future. Did zero to address my issue

I was appalled at the way these ladies treat their customers. I went to the pharmacy at ********************************************************************. I have Flu type A and now a sinus infection. So Im feeling miserable. My doctor order 4 medications at 12:15. One wasnt covered by insurance but message at 12:50 said the other 3 are in progress. I went to pick up my prescriptions at 3:30. Now mind you, this is an antibiotic which they are required to fill in so many hours. I was suppose to start as soon as possible. I had one girl irritated with me and I had apologize for being rude. That went over terrible then got to the counter. Mind you it is now 4:30 and my antibiotic was called in at 12:15. I had to call my physicians office who transferred my prescription to ****** ******. They said they will have ready in 30 minutes when they see it come over. I am a nurse and havent cared much for Walgreens and they were just ok. I WILL NOW TELL ALL MY FAMILIES AND PATIENTS TO AVOID WALGREENS THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO BE NICE TO SICK PEOPLE BUT THEY ARE A PHARMACY.

There’s is never not an issue when it comes to filling a prescription. They either tell you they are out just to make you wait and tell you that you need to contact provider to confirm the prescriptions that they’ve held for days or that for unknown reasons the prescription is delayed. They are withholding medication from people and then refuse to transfer your medicine when you want to use a different place. They need to be shut down if not corrected.

I stopped by today at 9:45 and asked that my prescription be rushed, because my wife just got done having a procedure. They quoted me ***** minutes. When I showed back up, they told me "we could not verify the signature" and had to send it back to the doctor to verify the sig, and quoted me 2-3 hours. Then *** then had the pharmacist take over, and he looked at me as if I was forging as signature.I have never dealt with a more unprofessional pharmacy in my life. The prescription is from a fertility clinic that is part of ****** *******t Health, and here you are questioning my integrity, valid script, while my wife is sitting in bed in pain. The pharmacist was a *******.Highly recommend going somewhere else.

Discrimination and judged I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the treatment my daughter and I received at this store today. We were instructed to go to the back of the line because we were using change for our purchase. After being told I could not use an ebt card Unfortunately, we were treated disrespectfully by the manager, *******, who claims to have been with Walgreens for 9 years, as well as by ******, who identified herself as the store manager.Despite staying calm and patient during this encounter, I found their demeanor to be rude. Other customers noticed the situation and expressed their displeasure at how I was treated, encouraging me to reach out to corporate. Additionally, while standing at the back of the line a kind customer offered to let me cut in front of her, ( there was no line ) just one person witnessing it all which seemed to further upset ******. She subsequently informed me that I could not make additional purchases and walked away. This experience has left me disheartened and I believe it reflects poorly on the management team.

I bought a $50.00 ********** gift card from Walgreens in ******* IL on October 16, 2024, I gave the card to a friend as a retirement gift, when he tried to use it in November there was nothing on the card to use. I immediately went to the store manager to tell them this, they could not help me and gave me a number to call for card related issues. I called the number and sent them all the information needed. I have since emailed them three times and I continue to get the same email back as they are looking into it. This is coming up on five months now and I still have not received any indication I will get my money or even a gift card that can be used. I have been a Walgreens customer for over three decades and this is how they treat loyal customers is just wrong.
