I am rejecting this response because: We did everything told to us by the Camping World sales representative. We called again on Thursday and Friday to make sure the trailer was secure because it was still showing it was available on their website. This is what prompted me to call the MI sales office, something was not right. On Wednesday July 13th we were told that only a $500 deposit was required to hold the trailer and the credit application must be complete by Saturday July 16th. On July 15th we called Camping World in ******** (where the trailer was located) he again told us that only a $500 hold was required to hold a trailer, again different office telling us a credit check is NOT required to hold a trailer. On that same day the ******** representative let us know he was never contacted by the sales representative that we were interested in the trailer. On July 27th I spoke to *** from Camping Worlds corporate office explaining our situation, she said she will speak to her manager and get get back to us; we have not heard back from her. When I was on the phone she let us know all calls are on a recoded line and this will be looked into. We were NEVER asked to complete a credit application, this would have been done right away, we did everything in our power to get this trailer. Also why wasnt MI office notified of our inquiry?? Why would you run someones credit before making sure they can get the trailer, this makes NO sense. Once we called MI the trailer sold (first phone call it was available,Josh said h*** hold it for us, one hour later talking to Roseville it was sold) even though it has been sitting on the lot for almost one year and was clearance out.
Sincerely,

I have got 2 campers from this camping world. Both of which has had major issues within a year of purchase. The first one was brand new I was the first owner this 2nd one was used but is a 2021 and has not been used more than 3 times by me and the slide started having issues. This new camper that has been purchased has a slide system in it that has known issues and still has issues even after being fixed. I called the slide company myself and trouble shoot with them personally. It appears the slide was installed wrong, i also found out it has never functioned like it should since the day it was purchased. Also the manufacturer put the control panel where it is inaccessible unless the slide is out, which it will not go out. I took it too camping world in ******** and they won't even submit the claim to the manufacturer due to the manufacturer warranty expiring 8 days prior to the camper arriving even though the appointment was booked prior to the date. They also assured me it would be looked at that day if it arrived for a certain time which it was not looked at the day of drop off, i had to call and complain the next day to get it looked at. I have gotten two faulty new campers from the same location within 2 years. They also sell a extended warranty that was 6,000$ and will not cover anything the guy at camping world himself said it's just a ploy and he wouldn't even purchase it while I paid for on both campers purchased there. I have requested multiple times and my camping world representive has requested the form and it has not been provided. The previous campers roof leaked leaving me **** in the mountains with a flooding camper roof and got significant water damage inside and I know for a fact they took it in on trade and turned around and put it right on the lot after re sealing the roof. That camper will have significant mold issues due to the water leaking out the lights in the walls. which will put the new buyers health at risk.Business Response

On June 23, 2022 I purchased a camper through Camping World of ***********. I left the lot with the camper attached to my truck at approximately **** that afternoon and drove through the day to ******* to camp overnight. Upon reaching the destination I discovered that the unit that had been sold to me had a long list of issues that had not been disclosed nor repaired, and had they been I never would have purchased the unit. The following are the problems with the camper:Fridge did not work 95% of the electrical outlets did not function The outdoor fridge did not work The fresh water tank did not push water and only released air The toilet was broken The slide dragged on the floor Propane tanks were not filled Multiple other cosmetic issues I contacted the salesman that had helped me with the unit who asked me where the nearest Camping World was on my route to destination, which was Toledo. He set me up an appointment for the next day, which was Friday June 24th. I arrived at the Toledo location at **** on the 24th and they immediately began working on the unit. At **** I received a phone call from their service department and was informed that the camper was blowing breakers at their location every time they tried to connect power and there was nothing they could do at that time. After speaking to the ** of the Toledo store they informed me that they could rewind the deal from Cedar Falls and try and get me in a different camper. This was a process that took two days, cost me way more money than I was supposed to have paid, and left me with a camper that was not what I originally wanted. I contacted Camping World Corporate, who has basically informed me everything that I am faced with financially is on me now, which this was not caused by me, but by incorrect business tactics at the Cedar Falls location. The camper I forced into buying was over 2k more and did not include taxes in the sale and I was left with a higher interest rate. I need help with this.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:Camping World did not do anything to resolve this issue. When they contacted me they took no responsibility in this issue, they told me that i made this decision freely. However, had they not sold me a camper that was faulty initially the resulting issues never would have transpired. I was even informed at **************** that the camper i had been sold should have never left the lot and that it was in a condition that the manager would have never taken it in on trade. The decision to get a different camper was not something i wanted to do, but rather was forced into because of the condition of the original purchase. Camping World needs to accept responsibility and make this right, by selling a camper that did not work they forced all the actions that followed.

I reject Camping Worlds response to this matter as it is an issue that would have never transpired had it not been for the negligence on the part of the service department, namely the service manager at the Cedar Falls location. The service department had eight days to ensure that the camper I was purchasing was in a condition that allowed for immediate use and on the day that I picked up the ******************* Light I was assured by the individual who did the walk around with me that the camper was ready to go.That however, was not the case and less than 12 hours after purchasing said model, it became extremely clear that the camper had multiple issues that made it unfit for use. When the issues started I immediately contacted **** (the salesman who worked with me on the camper) via text message. He told me he would set up an appointment for me at the nearest Camping World on my route to ********, which happened to be the location in ******, ****.
Though Camping World corporate claims I purchased a camper, in AS IS condition, the issue of negligence comes in when at the ****** location I was informed by the service department that the camper I purchased should have never left the lot due to the issues it had. This issue was made even worse when the general manager, ******, stated to me and my girlfriend that it was a camper that they never would have taken in on trade because of its issues. The general manager also informed me that they did not even want the camper on their lot so they were making the Cedar Falls location come and pick it up. The events at the ****** location happened on June 24Th, 2022, slightly ************************************* Cedar Falls on June 23rd, 2022.
To make this issue even worse, when I returned from my trip to ******** I stopped into the Camping World at the Cedar Falls location, where I spoke to both **** (the salesman)and **** (sales manager) who both told me they never would have let the camper leave the lot the day I purchased it had they been there. This conversation took place on Friday, July 15th, 2022 at approximately **** in the afternoon. **** also assured me that he would talk to corporate and do everything he could to make this issue right by me. Present for this conversation included the two individuals from Cedar Falls Camping World, ************************* (my girlfriend), ********************* (my father), and myself.
My concern is how is it that not one, but four, different employees from Camping World can indicate that the camper I originally purchased should have never been sold or allowed to leave the lot, yet the corporate office at Camping World indicates that no wrong doing was done on their part? Furthermore, they have the audacity to say everything that happened I did of my own will, yet had they not sold a camper that was not in a condition for sale in the first place, none of the events that followed would have occurred. To that end it is my contention that Camping World is liable for the increased amouunt I incurred as a result of the negligence portrayed by the service department, namely the service manager at the Cedar Falls location. What type of business sells a product that can not be used by a customer, who is later told by multiple individuals who work for that same business, that the product in question should have never been sold?
Furthermore, I would like to address the comments in the most recent response provided to the Better Business Bureau from the Camping World corporate office. In said response the individual used the following language ************ is upset he could not get the same interest rate for his new loan. The concern I have here is what type of formal education, certification, or background history does the individual, who wrote this response have, that authorizes them to make statements regarding my emotional state, let alone a causation of said emotional state? Last, I check Camping World is a retail business, not a medical facility. This becomes an even larger issue because the statements enclosed in said response will now be posted online by the BBB, so members of the community will see the statements made about my emotional state by Camping World and that is extremely inappropriate.
In closing, I reject your response and I do NOT consider this issue resolved in any way.
Very Respectfully,
*****************Initial Complaint

On 5/242022 we purchased a 2022 Thor Rv Tellaro 20J in ********, we live in *********. On May 27th, we reached out to Camping World of ************* to cancel our extended warranties as they were not the $1,100 price their finance manager said they were. We asked for clarification of price twice before signing, once we drove home and looked at the paperwork the contract read $14,135. We promptly called the administrators of the service agreements: Good ***, ***************************************************** to cancel our extended warranties. They all mentioned they haven't received our original paperwork yet from Camping World and it could take a week or so. On 5/27/22 we signed all agreements requesting a full refund and those were granted on 6/14/22 & 6/15/22. The administrators of the contracts confirmed via telephone that Camping World would be the ones to issue the refund to our finance company. These documents were also emailed over to ***** the finance manager at Camping World. We have tried several times to reach Camping World by phone, leaving messages with the secretary regarding our refund. Calls remain unanswered and never returned. My husband spoke with **** from Camping World of ************* yesterday day July 13th. He said they dropped the ball and would check into our refunds but we still have no answers as to where our refund is. Approvals for full refund cancellations are now at 30 days and no refund has been issue to us or our finance company. On top of that our RV has been in the shop since June 18th with major leaks and defects. We have not been able to utilize our RV since we drop it home on May 24th.Initial Complaint

I bought gap insurance when I purchased the ** trailer. I was told if I payed it off I would get some money back. I paid it off and contacted gander, and they gave me a number in *******. I called the person and he said as soon as I have proof of purchase I could do paperwork, which I did, and he would take care of it. After a month and a half I called him back and he wouldn't answer. Then I checked with the company and they didn't have me on file. Then I called gander mountain back and gave them my information in a certified letter which they received May 31. So I called yesterday and was told there was no one in the purchasing office and they would call me back. Can you help me?Business Response

I purchased a **************************************************************** around August 2020 and the first time we went camping the awning retractor broke and we had to have Gander RV come to the campsite and fix it so we could tow it to their service ***** They also discovered from the awning malfunctioning it made a water leak in the bedroom wall so they tore that part of the wall out and ordered the parts around October 2020. I have been calling since that time to see what the status of the parts are because we used this camper only 8 times and the rest of the time it has been sitting at Gander RV for repair and when we did use the camper we used it without a bedroom wall in the camper. As of 4/28/22 they called me to tell me that the parts were finally in and when the parts arrived the overlay wallpaper is the wrong color!!! I informed them to put the underneath wall in and at least get that fixed up and to order the correct color wallpaper because I wanted to pick up the camper and try to sell it. On 5/2/22 we towed the camper out of Gander RV so I could put it up for sale at my mom's place of work. We had a camper body shop manager come and go over the camper and what was found is totally ridiculous(I do have photos) In the outdoor compartment you can see they cut the wood and it's not even sealed and it looks like it was cut with a scissor and in the bedroom the wood doesn't even cover the whole wall because there are parts of the wall that are completely open and in the bedroom closet you can actually stick your hand in through the corner of the wall that is how big the gap is. Then they put the wrong color wallpaper on anyway and that was done horribly. I keep trying to call and of course no one ever calls you back. This is totally ridiculous and I want this camper fixed immediately or bought back. I feel that the time frame is totally uncalled for to repair this camper.Business Response

I have spent countless hours trying to contact Camping World of ****. I have purchased a travel trailer in March of this year and I have been waiting on replacements that were promised at the time of purchase. The one time I was able to get to speak to a person he insured me that he would be taking over the case and that the previous person I had been in touch with has since left the company. In the past month I have called over eight times and sent three emails. All of which have not been answered. Last call I made I had asked to have management call me back. No such call Been received. I am completely unhappy with the services provided by Camping World and Im worried that this is their Standard of care for their clients. I work full-time and have a small infant and do not have the time or energy to go down to the location, but I will have to now, as it has been about five months since I purchased my trailer. Again this complaint is for Camping World of ****, ******.Business Response

On 2/12/22 we took our camper to Camping World, where it was purchased 3 years ago, for underpinning repair. The service writer saw a crack in the frame, which we were completely unaware of. We had only used the camper 2 weekends and one week in the 3 years we've had it. Four months later we were finally told they could not repair the frame and that *******, the manufacturer of the frame, said because it was over 5 years old, they weren't responsible and wouldn't fix it. We were told by ****, the general manager at the ************ Camping World he would work with ** to trade us out of it into another unit. We went down to do that and the sales manager said it wasn't worth anything and "sorry about your luck". I notified the **************** of our issues and asked for assistance in either getting it repaired or trading it out. They said since there was no way to prove when the frame cracked, they had no responsibility. Again, "sorry about your luck", just politely this time. I called our insurance rep who examined it and since it a manufacturers defect, we can't file a claim. The insurance **** ******* at MBCW and our sales representative have all said this had to be present when we bought it but no one is willing to help make it right. Right now I have a HUGE paperweight that I still owe $15000 on.Initial Complaint

We bought a brand new camper last year. The first night home items broke. The awning was noted when we purchased and stated it would be replaced. Now they wont. Still to this date no repairs have been made and they have had it on their lot more than we have had it home. First trip out and the slide wont open. Next trip more issues. Now the ** will not cool and they have it again. Went to trade in with them and they give me two prices. 34k for no trade and if I trade then the prices is 37k plus some rollover. I have never in my life experienced such bad services and I have built three homes and owned 7 cars in the last 8 years. No issues with trade. No issues with anything until I met Camping World of ***********. They have lost our camper on the lot. They have lost the curtain that blocks our bunk beds. I have another trip next week and I bet they still have not made the fixes that are needed by then and they had the camper since Sunday. Never again will I use any camping world after this experience. We purchased this in April 2021, things broke the first day home and those same items have yet to be fixed. When we call, no one seems to know what's going on with the camper or even where its located on the lot.
