I had made an appointment for electrical/ac and brake issues June 22nd, following a family trip. My appointment was for the 6th of July. On July 5th, my vehicle completely shutdown while I was about to leave home, with smoke coming out of the hood, the car refused to turn on. I had the vehicle towed via warranty/insurance to the dealer. My windows were slightly lowered and had to be taped in order to prevent any water damage. I asked the dealer to cover the vehicle properly. I told them in person and over the phone to insure proper care. The next following days, I was called numerous time by ***, the manager, threatening me with substantial charges, ranging from $140+ for diagnostic fees, $125 to charge a battery, to $350 for a new one. The car was and is under warranty, therefore, diagnostic fees should be covered. I told them countless times the alternator was the reason the car shutdown and they refused to listen. I was forced to purchase a new battery and bring it to them personally and was threatened with installation fees, July 11th. The 14th of July, I receive a call from *** telling me they need me to make a decision because I am wasting their time. They did not acknowledge or input my warranty info, until I told ***, that it was indeed warranty work. He hung up on me and I never heard from him again. The 19th, my car was ready, but I picked it up the 20th because I arrived at night. Upon receiving my vehicle, I noticed the vehicle has significant water damage, my splash shield was missing and the car starting smoking due to a radiator cap not being tightened. I returned the vehicle and they tried to blame I and the tow truck driver. Upon arriving home. I did not drive the vehicle until the 27th, as I was waiting for a hub bearing, they suggested I needed. Upon starting the vehicle, my Power Steering fluid shot out of a hose, which now had physical contact the alternator. I towed the vehicle there and has been there since. They are refusing to fix the issue.Business Response

On 8/2/2023 I came in for a free oil change and inspection based on my ****** miles or 3 years plan. I was charged *****. No only was I charged for what was supposed to be free they gave the most expensive oil for a vehicle that is for high mileage. They also put that I was at ****** miles and then changed in when i question why am I paying. I have been getting free oil changes and inspection from another Hyundai dealership that has the same system. That location has never given me any issues regarding honoring the 3 years ****** mile plan. I was told that its free every other but that's never been discussed and hasn't had any issue until today. Both location has the same system. I am also financed by Hyundai ***. I was charged for something that should been free. I also asked for the original paperwork i signed with the ****** and she said she shredded it and then brought a updated one. I told her I signed it and wanted a copy. I purchased my vehicle from the location and was question why i never got an oil change at this location before. I shared the other location had appointments and was closer to my location. I believe this is unfair and should be refunded the entire fee that charged. My appointment was at 4pm. I arrived on time and still had to wait 2.5 hours. I missed my dinner plans with friends and left defeated and disappointed. They were even trying to sell me a new vehicle.Business Response

*************************** had her first free oil change at another dealer on 6-29-22. Her second oil change was done elsewhere also on 12-29-22 and was free. Hyundai pays at **** mile intervals. She brought her vehicle to us with 20, 856 miles and we explained that it would not be free at this time and she proceeded with the work.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I made an appointment online with them and stated I was coming in for oil change and inspection. I get there and I get register and have a seat. That's the way it's been for last 2 years at the other dealership in which is in the Hyundai system to use. Afterwards they give me keys and paperwork and I leave. I did the same thing with Matteson location. Nobody told me I had to pay and nobody told me it was going to be almost $90 . Not only did they charge me that I got to my scheduled appointment at 4pm by 3:55pm and they had me there for almost 2 and half hours, they put the wrong mileage on my documents and window sticker, left the chalk on my window, never washed my vehicle and I missed my dinner plans due to oil change taking over 2 hours. They also lack integrity. They have people lie on surveys to get good ratings. I'm not the only one to complain about this location in Matteson ********.
Sincerely,

We are through explaining the Hyundai OEM policy to her. We suggest she contact Hyundai if she does not like her free maint package they gave her. Additionally, we reject her comment about surveys. We take customer satisfaction very seriously, including hers, but we would appreciate her doing business elsewhere if she continues to make these accusations .Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: they are lying. I'm not making false accusation about the surveys. IT'S 100% true. Wish I kept the voicemail and text. It's so sad they refuse to make this right. After all that's said and done they lack integrity and lied. Also it took 2 and 1/2 hours for an oil change. I had an appointment. I missed my dinner plans with friends. ***** was the person I spoke with, you would think they would have have been more concerned why it took 2.5 hours for something simple as oil change. Why my paper work was inaccurate and changed. Why the chalk was left on my window and the sticker placed with wrong mileage. Horrible. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THEM & I ask those who have issues with them to complain and not just share with me. I'm not the first person who have issues with this location in Matteson. I would ask that they World Hyundai would take me off their mailing list, text list, and calling list. DO NOT send anything to my home from this location. They still haven't stopped any of the above. Shameful I've purchased 3 SUV'S from this location and had 3 others purchase vehicles here. Ill take my FAVOR, FINANCES & REFERRALS elsewhere. It's a shame in 2023 a manager or director won't do what's right. I should be refunded for so many reason beyond the maintenence plan.
Sincerely,

My 2018 Hyundai ****** was towed to World Hyundai in Matteson, ** on 5/30/23. Initially I was told that it needed a starter and a battery. I informed them that the battery was under warranty from Happy Hyundai. I provided documentation and then was informed that the battery can be charged. About a week later, I was informed that the oil had metal shavings and the engine needs to be replaced. ************** said she will see if the engine was still under warranty. On 6/8/23 a representative called and informed me that the dealership would pay half of the cost. At the time she did not inform me how much it would cost to replace the engine. I was shocked because it should be under warranty and said "you all probably should keep it" The representative hung-up on me. I was furious about her behavior and did not call back. I waited to speak with ************** whom I had been dealing with about my vehicle, I spoke with ************** on Tuesday, and we discussed the price and she said that she would resubmit the claim and it takes approximately 48 hours for a response. Also, the price is $5500.00 and my portion is approximately $3300. which is not half. On Friday, I learned that 6/30/23 Ally finance company pick-up my 2018 Hyundai ****** for abandonment. I DID NOT ABANDON MY VEHICLE. My vehicle was at World Hyundai for repair. I spoke with **************? the supervisor in service at 8:20am on 6/30/23 and he informed me that he see that Hyundai was paying haft which was good and that ***** would have to tell me the brake down of the price, but he thinks it covers half on a loaner also then transferred me to ***** who still didn't pick up. My payments are current and that I never missed nor has I been late on a payment. However, as soon as he received the invoice from World Hyundai, I would have to pay the invoice price before they will release my vehicle. My vehicle is being held hostage with an estimated total of $1256.24 and is now being auctioned off.Business Response

I went in for service on my 2017 Hyundai Sonata hybrid and when I got there, I was informed they no longer would honor my lifetime oil change and warranty I received when I purchased my car. They told me they started using a different vendor for their oil and only do synthetic oil changes, so it was too expensive to honor the agreement they made with me when I purchased the car. I explained to them that that was the deciding factor when I purchased the car and I would never have purchased the car from them. I had a different car a ******** that offered me 3 years of free oil changes and a 5-year warranty. That is why I decided to purchase the Hyundai Sonata. The Hyundai was also 2 years older than the ******* I bought the car in 2019. My bank also made me pay a higher interest rate because the said they couldn't give me a new car loan because it was over a year old even though it had no miles and no previous owner. I asked the service employee how they can cancel an agreement and she said they are trying to get people to purchase new vehicles. She then tried to charge me $85 upfront to do an oil change. I refused and had to wait 20 minutes to get my car back.Business Response

None of this information provided is accurate. We did not discontinue a program due to vendor issues. IF there is a paid agreement we certainly would honor. We suggest the customer come to the store to meet with our GM at his convenience with his paid agreement and any other documents he wishes to review..Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I did not purchase an oil change package. When I purchased the vehicle, I was given a lifetime warranty (as long as I had my vehicle serviced at World Hyundia Matteson) and lifetime oil changes because it was an internet special. The vehicle had been on their lot for two years (2017 I bought it in 2019). I had just come from Totota down the street and had negotiated a price with them that was $800 cheaper on their hybrid and was a 2019. The salesman guaranteed me that with the free oil changes that as long as I kept the vehicle for six years that I would make up the $800 and I would have a lifetime warranty that is how he persuaded me into purchasing the vehicle. I was given a book with all the times I need to bring my vehicle in and have service done and for over four years. I have had wiper blades, Engine, air filter, tire rotations, front end alignments and various other things performed on my car even though I could have done it a lot cheaper elsewhere. They have honored the free oil changes until my last visit. When I brought in my vehicle for my service and the customer service tech took my car and only after taking my car did she say they would not honor my free oil change and it would be $85.This was her Quote when I asked why: We have changed vendors and we only use synthetic oil, and your oil changes are for regular oil changes. I told her if they were not going to honor the agreement, I wanted my car back because I could get an oil change for under $40. Her next Quote: If you do not have your vehicle serviced by World Hyundia Matteson your lifetime warranty will be voided. I was dismayed by her comments. and asked what am I supposed to do now that they were not going to stand by their agreement with me and she said most people are ****** off and a lot of them are trading in their cars for new vehicles, What a scam. Sounds like they have been trained to know how to get customers to purchase new vehicles. I was also advised by my insurance company that my rates went up 250 this year because my vehicle is such a high risk of being stolen. ******* response was we are working on a fix and have provided manual steering lock systems to many cities in ********. Not mine!!!. So I don't even feel safe driving my car into ******* because *******'s and ***'s are the easiest to steal. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with they must enjoy taking advantage of senior citizens. One lie after another.

I am rejecting this response because: I do not want to keep going around in circles with them. The free oil changes and lifetime warranty was negotiated at the point of sale. They gave me a book that is for the lifetime warranty and had to be filed out every time I had my car serviced that is the only thing, they gave me. They have honored this for almost for 4 years and 6 months. I am sure they are stalling in order to say I did not have my car service within the acceptable time period and as I was told when I brought my vehicle in for the last service, if I do not have World Hyundia Matteson do my oil change which is part of the service agreement, I would void my lifetime warranty. I can see a scam. Ask them why they gave me free oil changes for over 4 years. How do they know when I come in the oil change it does not get charged to me? Why did his customer service rep tell me because they changed vendors and no longer offer regular oil changes and only synthetic that I suddenly have to pay $85 for a $40 oil change when I never had to pay before. I would like them to provoid me whith all of the documentation of when I serviced my car and did not pay for oil changes because I have all of them.I have all of my receipts that say (Internal ) on them and the receipt shows I did not pay for oil changes. All my receipt show they did not charge me for oil changes

I've bought my 2023 hyundai sonata back in January this year. Everything was going fine until April 3rd when in notice my check engine light was on and my car was misfiring and cutting off. So I brought my car to world hyundai to get serviced. The claimed issue was the fuel injector. Then not even a month later on may 9th my car was doing the same thing that I've mentioned above. So I went back to world hyundai and got it serviced. The claimed issue this time was a purge valve they replaced. Once I've gotten my car back and being frustrated. I started to look up information about the ******** lemon law. Because something seems off about this car. According to the ******** lemon law a car must have the same problem 4 times. So about 2 weeks later I'm about to make an errand and my car started to cut off and misfiring in the middle of and intersection. So this the 3rd time my sonata done this. I've took my car up to the shop the same day. And I mentioned the lemon law to them. Then one of the sales managers named *********************** sat me down and tried to sell me a car which is unprofessional. When I've mentioned the lemon law him he said it has to be five times and I said no it has to be 4 times. And he said after that what number did I say? All of a sudden he walked away and after that I've left. So the next day I've received a text message saying I have bad gas in the car. And the warranty won't cover it. And the total cost is $1655. So to me that seems odd because they know I have a lemon car and since I've mentioned I have a lemon car . Now all of a sudden it's my fault why my car is doing this now. And I also the my service provider ****** why didnt they check for bad gas the first to times? I've called corporate and writing to bbb explaining my situation. I need my repairs to be free. And also I've went to the gas station and they were nice enough to let me see the paper of the gas station bad gas detector. And it said 0%for any particals in their gas. Please help me.Business Response

We will discuss with **************** and apologize for any lack of professionalism. He indicated he was trying to gt you into something that would make you feel better. As far as the car is concerned, ******** is very clear on how to apply for Lemon Law and if you feel you need to do that we encourage you to follow the guidelines. It is rare that a car is a lemon and in the interim we will continue to service any issues as we can, under warranty. Unfortunately bad or wrong gas is not covered. If it was bad gas we would suggest collecting the charges from the gas supplier.Initial Complaint

05/11/23 I went in to world hyundai in matteson **. for a oil change and wheel alignment. I was told that i had a leak that need to be addressed. Now put in mind i went in September 9, 2022 to get the leak checked out do to AAA who did my oil the first of September said i have a small leak somewhere but didn't know where and that i have to get look at where it will need to have to put some dye in it to pin point the leak i told ********************** this. Which i picked the dealer because they had put a new $7,000 engine in a couple years priority to that date. When i took it in to the dealer they eye ball the leak without knowing exactly where the leak was coming from, said that I need a valve cover gasket replacement: leaking price @$305.75, Oil pan gasket: leaking oil price @$360.21 clean/leak check :clean and recheck after all work is common to style consumption test $0.00. I had appointment to get all the work done January 5th 2023. They told me i just need to replace the valve cover gasket. I said it said i needed more done because my paper said its leaking from top & bottom of the engine. And i told them to repair all leaks no matter what it is i told that to the service guy and the manager. They charge me So they did what they wanted to do. So they didn't tell me to come back so they can make sure everything was done properly or nothing. So i call them and told them that no one told me to come back after a certain time frame to check to see if the problem resolved now i hear noses. I go back in 3/1/2023 its still a oil leak but they say its my Oil Pan that was supposed to got fix that day of the other leak back in January 5, 2023 when i told them to fix the problem of the leak on 1/5/2023 no matter what because i dont what to have more problems. So now they tell me it will cost almost $300 for them to clean the engine when it was supposed to been $0.00. So they address that i must pay for cleaning i fuss about it but then told them to just fix the problem and they told me i had to leave my car over night so i did. When i pick up my car the next day i get a bill of over $800 i fuss yes because have it been done on the 1/5/2023 so they discount me $75. Just for labor for a oil pan was $647.65 when i thought it was with the cleaning of the engine as well. then addition to the oil pan they want to charge me $1000+ for a water pump that they say was going out and that was not the case when i got a second opinion. And there's no sound but there's a leak still, found out that they never cleaned the engine or test it to see what the oil was coming from they assumed. You have to found out where the leak is coming from to fix the problem not assumed or eye ball. Like they was wrong with the water pump and i didn't need that. I just got me out of unnecessary money that i dont have to throw away.Business Response

After speaking with my Service Manager and Technician I have found out that ****************** vehicle had several oil leaks and we explained to her we would have to clean the engine and *********** dye to determine where the leak was coming from.
Based on the history of the vehicle we explained to her back in September of 2022 that she had oil leaking and she did not perform the work needed. She then brought her vehicle back to ** in January of this year and we replaced the valve cover gasket however the vehicle still had leaks. We did replace the engine in her vehicle back in March of 2019 and at that time her vehicle had ****** Miles and now has ******* miles and is out of Warranty.
Please let me know if anything else is needed.

I financed a '17 Hyundai ****** in '21 and about 2-3 months later I started having issues with the vehicle not accelerating. I took the vehicle back to World Hyundai because it was still under manufacturer's warranty just to be told nothing was wrong. After an oil change I started noticing the vehicle burning oil between oil changes and recently took it back to where I get my oil changes from just to be told there are no leaks or cracks. They suggested I take the vehicle to Hyundai. On Saturday (5/13/23) I received an email letting me know that I was eligible to refinance and I completed the form. **** called me, she ran my credit and told me to come in to get something that "made more sense" for the extreme car payment I have, so I scheduled for today (5/15/23). The morning of my appt I received a text asking me to call and when I did the guy told me that he was just confirming that I was coming in and that I'd meet with ***********************, the person I dealt with to purchase the ******. When I arrived I spoke to ***** briefly before a guy named **** came to me. He was clueless as to why I was there so I had to explain the conversation **** and I had. I told him my credit was ran already, that's why **** told me to come in I'm guessing. **** had me waiting and waiting while he ran back and forth & dealt with other customers. I was getting very impatient after an hour so he then told me I'd have to get a cosigner, which was my husband who's on my current loan. About another ***** mins goes by before I see **** again to ask what am I waiting on and he said an approval. Shortly after that he takes my car key to do an appraisal. After another ***** mins he came to me with an appraisal paper saying "sorry you need your score to be a little higher". Then he proceeds to say "yeah, the front tires are rotted and the transmission is bad". I'm livid because this means they sold this vehicle to me KNOWING the trans was bad and they won't accept it back! How was I approved before?Business Response
