From *********************** ***** ******** Lane Matteson ** ***** ************ Complaint Against World Hyundai **** ******************************** ** ***** phone ************ Truth of lending lies Deceptive practice and Much more I signed up on Line Jan 5; **** through a website called Carloan. com I signed up on line for a car for people who in a chatter 13 or had they chapter 13 discharged or had a repossion i am now in chapter 13 I had my car repossed . i told the car sales lady that she said no problem we ran your credit check and you approved with no money down. i asked her told her over and over dont *** to get me to come in there. and that my credit score under 400. i have no money down no co signer and i in a chapter 13 she said she is very well aware of that and im still approved. i send in all my check stubs my ssa award letter my bank statement my light bill my ssi card and id. she text me back 30 minutes later and said I was approved for no money down she got my paper work and they processed it all i need to do is come in look at a car and sign the paper work. i got there at **** am today the sales man told ne the same thing i sat there three hours then he finally showed me the suv i was approved for i loved it. then he said i need a co signer because i dint have my chapter 13 paperwork so my husband co signed they said he was approved took us to look at the car gave the dealer a sold ticket. everyone in the office congradulate us gave us a high five. we waited another hour ******* the sales clerk said he was approved and had to pay 530 every two weeks. we was going to accept that but then refused. we walked out the door and I was schduling a uber. he came back out and told us he had wonderful news and a better term We get back back in said we was approved by a bank for a better deal for 350 every two weeks and that he was going to print out the paperwork work have us to sign itBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because that wasnt what I was told. they said they accepted bopen and closed chaoter 7and 13 then said if my husband co signed and qas approved he would be a cosinger and we can get it he was approved then they said we wasnt approved because we needed a big down payment I told the person when she called that I had a open chapter 13 and a car repossed she said it dint matter they had a program that help you rebuild your credit and a no down payment program going on for the whole month of January. After I upload my documents and emailed everything. she said i was approved and guarantee to leave with a vechile. Read all the ****** reviews lower rating i dont know any of them people and they said they was told the same thing. They need to stop lying to people and having them to sit all them hours for absolutely nothing Tell people the truth up front and stop tricking them in . It was snow and cold that day i could have atill been in bed. i know my credit is horrible thats why i told them on the phone i hope they telling the truth and not lying to get me to come in . i was told no consigner needed even with my chapter 13 . in any case stop focusing on my credit you ran ************************* credit he is not in a open bankrupt last we check his credit was 640 why run his da credit say he was approved and play these silly games

I took my vehicle for service on 12/28/23 for open recalls. On the way home the check engine light came on, I stopped at Auto Zone and had it scanned, it was a knock sensor. I told them I had it replaced and being it was just in service they told me it probably got knocked lose. The next day there was molding off in my trunk and the piece was laying in my trunk and also noticed the bumper on the front on the passenger side was off. This was not like this prior to taking it in for service. I tried for several days to talk to someone about these issues. Finally on Jan 4th I spoke to Art, who was very rude about these issues. He made every excuse in the book as why it wasn't them. He kept talking over me and would barely let me speak. I told him none of these issues were ongoing til their hands touched my car. He insisted it wasn't them and refused to help in any fashion.Business Response

World Hyundai of Matteson mislead me and falsely advertised to me that they could get me a car using the resources they had and the information they received from me. They assured me that they knew my credit score and could get me in a vehicle within my budget. Once I finished the application they said they didnt have a car in my budget on the lot and I now needed a co-signer.Business Response

I purchased my 2020 Hyundai on 7/3/2020 and have an extended warranty for the duration of the car for the ********************** I towed my car there on 11/24/2023 because it was jerking and Auto Nation Hyundai diagnosed it with cam shaft & inside engine problems and I paid them $454 but World Hyundai won't honor that one. So, they want me to pay $170 plus tax for their diagnostic & now I had to sign off on another intensed diagnostic where the mechanic wants $195 an hour for 4 more hours to remove the cover and go in the engine. If Hyundai doesn't approve the repairs but they should. To get to the root of the problem. The communication is ridiculous when I call I'm always sent to voicemail. And they won't give me a loaner unless they approve the repairs. I've left messages for the service manager and he has yet to return my call. I just want my car repaired.Business Response

We have spoke with **** and informed her that her vehicle's warranty has expired. We have no problem performing a diagnostic and repairing ****'s vehicle however she would need to pay for her vehicle to be diagnosed and repaired since it is out of warranty.
**** has informed our Service Director she is working on getting funds to get her vehicle repaired.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is unsatisfactory to me. I paid $2843.00 to have my car repaired and received it back on 12/15/2023. Drove it almost home and the check engine light came back on. I took it back to the dealership the technician checked it and reset the check engine light. I drove away to have the check engine light come back on, I emailed Art in service to inform him about it and also spoke to Art the technician and he informed me to bring it back on Monday so he can research the parts that were replaced to see if it was a default. As I drove my car on Saturday my car started back jerking and cutting off, then a traction light also came on and the only way I could keep my car started was to put it in neutral and quickly put it in drive. But when I stop at a light or stop sign it cuts off again. I don't think my car was test driven enough to detect these issues, my paperwork states it was test driven for 3 miles and it was working properly. Now I have to drop my car back off on Monday and have someone drop me off at work so they can complete this research. I am so not happy with my results so far.

On July 11th, my Sonata Hybrid was towed to World Hyundai. After the diagnostic and assessment, my vehicle was approved for an engine replacement through the class action settlement. I arrived to pick up the vehicle on August 7th. *** ****** that retrieved my vehicle from the lot told me the Hybrid was not driving correctly and leaning forward. He reassured me that Hybrids are tricky, and in the worst case scenario I would stay in my rental, and they would keep the car a little bit longer to assess further. Within five minutes of that conversation, ***** brought me paperwork to sign off on. I told her I did not feel comfortable taking the vehicle after receiving information that the car was not driving correctly. She completely disregarded my concerns and told me it was ok to drive. I didn't even make it out of the Matteson Auto Mall before the car completely shut down on me. My daughter and I had to vacate the vehicle and walk back to the dealership and explain what had occurred.*** service department paperwork states on the first page, "*** vehicle was road tested 3 miles, verified repairs, in ****** miles, out ******* miles. *** system is operating as designed." That is clearly fabricated because I have attached proof that the mileage on the vehicle currently is ****** which indicates a road test was not done. ***y kept my vehicle a couple days longer and told me I had to pick it up because it was an internal transmission issue. Again, this was a lie because according to the inspection report the vehicle was operating as normal when brought in. We ended up towing our vehicle to Family Hyundai. ***y confirmed World Hyundai made a mistake and ended up reprogramming the vehicle to get it up and running. We found out our splash guards were also taken off the vehicle and never put back on at World Hyundai so we had to pay to get them replaced. After several attempts to make contact the manager ignored us and never reached out to get clarity and resolve the issue.Business Response

I wanted to let you know of an incident that happened with our vehicle at World Hyundai in Matteson **. **** *******************, Matteson, ** *****. Our car a Hyundai Elantra was dropped off for repairs and recall fixes on November 14. The dealership did not keep in contact with us. We had to keep calling for status updates. We were told the car would be ready on Monday 11/27/23 or Tuesday 11/28/23. We received a phone call around 1:30 pm on Monday 11/27/23 telling us that when they went to retrieve the car to work on it Monday afternoon, they could not find it in their lot. Apparently the car was stolen- we filed a police report with the ******* police department and the dealership says they are not responsible.Business Response

I purchased a brand-new **** Hyundai Santa **** from World Hyundai in Matteson, Il. on Friday 11/3/2023. Before the vehicle was purchased I saw several areas of damage on the vehicle such as a sizable area on the hood of the vehicle missing paint, scratches on the sides of the vehicle, and a large gash in the rear bumper. All of this was brought to the attention of the salesman **** up front before any vehicle was purchased. **** stated that World Hyundai could not get another truck like the one I was purchasing and that the dealership would make any repairs needed. I also asked about the referral bonus stated on their website and was told by **** that the last time he tried to give a referral bonus he got into trouble. I purchased the truck & brought it back to the dealership on 11/7/2023 as instructed. I was told World Hyundai Matteson would fix the truck and have it back to me in a couple days. I called today and NO ONE in that entire establishment can tell me exactly where my vehicle is or when I can get it back. I spoke to managers that stated for me to speak to the sales team and sales team individuals stating for me to speak to managers. The service team also knew absolutely nothing.One person even lied and told me he was the manager names DK however on another call a completely different person said his name was ******, his nickname is DK, and he wasnt the person that I previously spoke to on the phone. When I told ************** was extremely concerned that someone else claimed to be him and said that they were a manager ****** stated to me that it was none of my concern as a customer but an internal issue the dealership would address among their employees. This whole entire issue has been an utter nightmare and I still do not have my vehicle nor the referral that should have been given to both me and my husband per their own website content. I am rejecting this response because:World Hyundai in Matteson, ******** still has not provided the correct amount of money for the Referral Bonus, as stated on their own website.
Initially I was told by salesman **** that he cannot give a Referral Bonus and that the last time he tried he got in trouble for doing so.
The 2nd day that I went to World Hyundai in person was 11/13/2023 I was told that they could give a Referral Bonus of $100.00 and to come back in about a week to pick up the check.
With all due respect, that is wholeheartedly dishonest and still unacceptable as their own website states concerning the Referral Bonus that World Hyundai will pay $250-$500 for a Referral Bonus.
World Hyundai has been horrible throughout this entire ordeal.
On 11/13/2023 at 10:04 am I was contacted by manager **** from World Hyundai of Matteson and told that she had been notified of my complaint, that she had ordered me a brand new **** Santa **** pickup truck exactly like the one that I purchased on 11/3/2023 to replace the truck that went missing, the one that needed repairs.
**** told me to come to the dealership after I got off work that day 11/13/2023 and that she would have my Referral Bonus check ready as well. ***** asked me where I found the Referral Bonus information on their website and I stated to her their web address and read to her word-for-word what their website says regarding the Referral Bonus for existing customer that are referring new customers that purchase a new vehicle as well as existing/returning World Hyundai customers that purchase a new vehicle. ***** looked up the information on their website and read it to me, stating the Referral Bonus amount from $250 - $500.
A World Hyundai staff member told my husband that the Santa Cruz truck I purchased on 11/3/2023, the same truck that I was told to bring back to them on 11/7/2023 for repairs, was NEVER sent anywhere for repairs. World Hyundai just lied about that whole thing and just thought they would keep me in a loaner truck until they felt like repairing the truck, whenever they felt like getting around to it.
When my husband and I met with **** on 11/13/2023 she never apologized about the ordeal her dealership put us through, the horrible treatment by manager DK and the way that ** spoke to me and my husband and his lack of professionalism. While the replacement truck was being prepaired the sales man **** stated that he had just at that moment sold my 2022 Hyundai Santa **** trade-in truck and pointed to the man he had just sold my truck to. He said they had to wait to sell the truck until World Hyundai knew what I was going to do about accepting another truck from them. To be honest, they sold my 2022 Hyundai Santa **** trade-in truck before I even accepted the new truck that supposedly ordered for me because I had yet to even see the new truck. Now here I had just been informed that taking my 2022 Hyundai Santa **** truck back was not an option because World Hyundai had just sold it because that is EXACTLY what I was ready to do.
**** also told me not to say anything to the new owner that had just purchased my old truck, that he did not want the man to know that I was the previous owner for the truck. What I found to be very interesting is that the new **** Hyundai Santa **** truck that was allegedly ordered for me was ordered less than 8 hours before I was told to come and pick it up and yet I was told on 11/3/2023 that no other **** Hyundai Santa **** trucks could be ordered or brought to World Hyundai Matteson due to me finding all of the issues on the allegedly new truck that I purchased on 11/3/2023. What the manager **** stated to me was So youll take care of me with the BBB? and I stated to ****, provided that you all have for me a brand-new **** Hyundai Santa **** truck exactly like the one I purchased on 11/3/2023, free of any scratches, not needing any repairs, and you have my Referral Bonus check in the correct amount. World Hyundai of Matteson desires to be dishonest until the very end. This has absolutely been the worst car purchasing experience Ive ever experienced in my life and it is still ongoing. There are scratches all over the new truck that was allegedly ordered for me that I picked up on 11/13/2023 and the salesman Eriks response to that is that it likely happened when ran through a car washes before the truck was brought to World Hyundai of Matteson.
**** went on to state that black vehicles are hard to keep clean and show every scratch. **** suggested that I get the new truck hand-buffed to remove all of the scratches and stated it will likely cost a few hundred dollars to get it done. Im sorry, but a brand-new vehicle should not have scratches all over it that would require a new owner that purchased a brand-new vehicle to have to reach in their own pockets and have to pay out money to make repairs on a brand-new vehicle. That is why a person purchases a brand-new vehicle and not a used or pre-owned vehicle. The paint on my 2022 Hyundai Santa **** trade-in truck looks much better than the paint on my allegedly brand-new **** truck. I took my 2022 truck to touchless car washes. On the new truck that was ordered on 11/13/2023 the ** radio stations were all pre-set with someones preferred radio stations. The truck I was provided with was no doubt being used by someone, driven by someone, ran through a regular brush car wash multiple times by someone, ** radio stations set and programmed by someone, and may very well have been used as a loaner vehicle by the dealership World Hyundai received it from or as a comp car for the dealership employees to drive as needed.
The vehicle had over 100 miles on it while the vehicle I purchased on 11/3/2023 had 35 miles on it.
World Hyundai needs to be held responsible for the cost of having the vehicle buffed by a detailer of my choosing AND to provide the FULL amount for the Referral Bonus for my continued and no-ending trouble with World Hyundai. The truck I was given on 11/13/2023 may indeed be a **** Hyundai Santa **** but it had already been driven by someone else, over 100 miles placed on the truck by someone else, it was used by someone else, the paint damaged by someone else, and the radio stations ** radio programmed by someone else, but World Hyundai expects ME to repair the vehicle out of my own pocket. To have a truck professionally buffered, if the scratches are only on the clear-coat, starts out at $300. If the scratches are deeper than the clear coat the cost is more. Why should that cost be my responsibility when World Hyundai saw those scratches on the truck on 11/13/2023, just as I did, and had the nerve to tell me I could pay to have the scratches removed. That is absolutely unacceptable. World Hyundai hands-down is the worst dealership I have ever encountered and lies so horribly. I would NEVER EVER recommend World Hyundai in Matteson to anyone, as I wouldnt want anyone to go through the experience that my husband and I have gone through. World Hyundai obviously cares nothing about their customers or to even attempt to tell the truth, practice good customer service, good business practices, or even attempt to be ethical.Sincerely,

The vehicle was exchanged and replaced with a new vehicle. Both **************** and her husband were both happy when they picked up the vehicle. One of our sales managers as well as our inventory manager walked around the vehicle with **************** she was happy and agreed everything was perfect when she picked up the replacement vehicle.
The referral bonus **************** is referring to is a service we offer for customers that refer new customers to our business who purchased a vehicle. We however did Honor her request although this is her second vehicle she has purchased from us.
We have done everything we have agreed to do for **************** and again she was happy when she left with the replacement vehicle in her possession. Several days later she is now complaining of scratches on the replacement vehicle which were not present at all when she took possession of the vehicle.

I have already spoken to World Hyundai, the manager ****, the salesman ****, and the BBB regarding this matter.
The manager **** called me from her personal cell phone on 11/25/2023 at 10:20am and for *********************************************************************************************** as a replacement vehicle to replace the vehicle I purchased on 11/3/2023 that World Hyundai lost. I find it very interesting that **** refuses to call me on World Hyundais phone but only on her cell phone. **** knows that World Hyundai records calls however calls she makes on her personal cell phone are not recorded so she is free to speak however she would like, to lie, and not act in a professional manner.
I dont understand the logic of any business that is willing to lie to their customers and just refuse to have good business standards and practices. The manager **** actually stated to me on that phone call that World Hyundai KNEW that they were never going to have the truck repaired in the timeframe that was stated to me and that in her line of business someone is always not going to be happy and it is what it is. **** went on to state that World Hyundai just stated a timeframe to me in which they would have the vehicle repaired, which was a couple of days, and they knew it would take weeks to repair AND that the vehicle NEVER left World Hyundai. Had I not contacted the BBB to assist me regarding this mess if an ordeal I would STILL be without a vehicle although my first vehicle payment would still be due.
I was completely appalled and disgusted that she actually stated that to me. World Hyundai knew they were lying to me from the beginning. I have previously sent to **** at World Hyundai on 11/13/2023 exactly what their Referral Bonus states on their website and **** claims that it was only for a week that the Referral Bonus was $250-$500 for either referring a new customer or for an existing customer purchasing a new vehicle. I have previously sent to the BBB a file containing the website link for World Hyundai which shows exactly what their website stated at the time I purchased my brand-new **** Hyundai Santa **** truck on 11/3/2023.
I have also contacted Hyundai *** and spoke with a male caseworker yesterday that did tell me it is the responsibility of World Hyundai to make any needed repairs on the vehicle World Hyundai selected for me. Hyundai *** stated that if I wanted to pay out of my pocket to have the vehicle buffed to remove the scratches World Hyundai would have to reimburse me for my expense. Im sorry but as much as **** and World Hyundai lies they arent going to reimburse me for anything and I would absolutely NEVER trust them to do so or to keep their word. I did not select that vehicle as a replacement, World Hyundai selected that vehicle. I did not pick it out, World Hyundai selected the vehicle for me. **** knows for a fact that both she and the salesman **** saw the replacement truck they selected for me, and they BOTH saw the scratches on the vehicle when they had the vehicle brought to their dealership. **** was the one who told me that I could have the scratches hand buffed out to remove them. Im sorry, but I am not being unreasonable by stating that although I am very glad to now have a truck, as World Hyundai allegedly lost the truck I purchased on 11/3/2023 and no one could tell me where it was, and NOW they want me to have to pay out of my own pocket to have the replacement truck hand buffed to remove scratches they saw on the truck before I even laid eyes on the truck. Someone, anyone, make this make sense because this is absolutely insane. And to add insult to injury they are even lying about the Referral Bonus even though I have concrete proof of what their website currently states as well as what their website stated the day I purchased my vehicle on 11/3/2023 and I have already sent that proof to the BBB. I have notified the manager **** that she is not to call me again unless it pertains to World Hyundai paying to have the scratches removed from the vehicle or regarding providing the Referral Bonus in the amount that it should be. My husband was contacted by World Hyundai and told that he could pick up the Referral Bonus check and when he got to World Hyundai the check was only for $100. **** had just spoken to my husband on the phone that same day on Wednesday 11/22/2023, the day before Thanksgiving, and stated she was going to provide the Referral Bonus amount we were requesting.
It is extremely sad that from the start World Hyundai has lied the entire time about everything. **** called me on 11/13/2023 and stated she had no idea I was experiencing this entire ordeal, stated that no one at World Hyundai told her anything, and that she was going to take care of the vehicle situation by getting a vehicle for me that same day AND take care of the Referral Bonus. **** stressed that she had no idea about any of it however when I went to World Hyundai that same day on 11/13/2023, **** introduced herself, apologized and stated she was not aware of anything and the very first time she heard about any of it was when she called me earlier that day and I told her the matter at hand. No sooner than **** made that statement she said she was going to turn everything over to ****, **** would show me the vehicle **** got for me as a replacement, and then **** stated to me So youll take care of me with the BBB? First things first, **** thought that I didnt catch that lie, and second World Hyundai thought they could deliver a vehicle to me at night and I wouldnt see the scratches on the vehicle. Not only did I see the scratches I most certainly did immediately I point them out to the salesman ****, **** stated to me and my husband that black vehicles are notorious for getting scratches, that the scratches probably happened when THEY ran the vehicle through the car wash and are likely car wash scratches/swirl marks, and I can pay a couple hundred bucks to get the truck hand buffed to have the scratches removed. Again, I do not understand the logic of World Hyundai. It is their responsibility to have those marks removed.Sincerely,

On 10/18/2023 I took my car to Hyundai to be fixed and it was NOT FIXED after they had my vehicle for over a week.(8days) They literally had my car over a week which was only suppose to be a 1 day job. The front receptionist employees never called to give me an update on my vehicle. I had to call and check on the status every other day. Each time I called it was either the part didnt fit, the part was defective and then they started saying the part is on back order! Which one is it???? Finally come and get the car and literally drove it down the street to the stop sign and the check engine light came back on and its running completely different and stalling. This is such an inconvenience!!!! Drove it right back up there and spoke to manages and they did not care, wanted us to pay more money for a new problem when they had our car for days and days! How we drive the car less than a mile and somehow its our fault??! Make that make sense! Had the nerve to say, would you want us to take your engine apart again for $600 after they already did that to my engine for 8 days! Why must I pay? You already took my engine apart now I have to pay for something you all messed up? Then the manager asked if we have a balance after we just paid $1876.53 for a car that was not fixed just 10 mins prior! Literally drove to the stop sign and the check engine light came on again!!! Wow! (Then one day, I get a call from the receptionist in service saying that I would be charged for storage fee and at that time my car wasnt even there! Get your facts straight first! Youll call about that but cant call and tell me the car wont be done day after day after day! Like seriously this is customer service 101! You call about collecting more money from us but youre not even fixing the vehicle properly! You dont have your ish together! Call and give a correspondence to your clients!!! me and my daughter both bought vehicles from their dealership , I then referred my son there and he also bought a car . I was told I would get a referral bonus . was told many times by the sales person it was approved and sent out . I never received it , called again and was told it would be ready by a certain day then told it was not approved since my son responded to a flyer he received . this is a lie, all his mail comes to my address and not once did he receive and fliers . per the manager ***** she was going to look into this and call me back . never got a call back . called there again and of course she is not in . never again will they receive any more business from me. I am suppose to get free oli changes for my vehicle there but I will not bring my vehicle there . I will pay somewhere else . Horrible businessBusiness Response
