After our carpet was installed in our newly purchased home, it began smelling like urine. We contacted Empire and stated the smell was terrible and now our couch has absorbed the smell as well. We were not sure it if is from our subfloor and the previous owner or if it was on the carpet when it was installed since only one side of the room smells. The man I spoke to said it wasn't their problem. If it was a subfloor issue, we should have taken care of it. The installers did not speak English and did not inform us of a problem. The website states there is a one year warranty of workmanship. Empire has not sent an inspector out to determine if this is a warranty issue or not.Empire Today, LLC

After being sold vinyl plank flooring, we moved all of our stuff downstairs as told. The installers came out, took one look and decided they didn't want to install the flooring over our subfloor. It wasn't even but the salesperson said they can make it even with plywood, etc. A contractor (not with Empire) came out for a quote earlier and said it would be no problem to make the floor even with additional subflooring materials. The installers just didn't want to do their job. When speaking with customer service, they're not allowed to send an email with the canceled contract. Why? This has been a very frustrating experience after signing the original contract.Empire Today, LLC

Three months ago they came to our house and gave an estimate on laying carpet in two rooms, after scheduling and no show five times, we moved items out of rooms each time, we asked for our money back. This company is not dependable, look some where else.Empire Today, LLC

Empire Today did an excellent job with our home's new flooring installation on Mon. 9/12/2022. We scheduled our initial free in-home estimate consultation appt online, for Wed. 9/7/2022 & ended up meeting sales rep/design ********** *************************. ****** walked from room to room with us, so we could show him every area where we wanted the new flooring to go in (including in closets) & which flooring transition strips needed replacement. We also showed Ramone what we wanted removed. ****** really listened to what we wanted & then gave us his flooring recommendations based on that. Ramone seemed to know right away, which flooring ************** would work best for us/our home. ****** helped us pick out a floor color that complements the pre-existing real wood on the steps/********, & that looks good with the ceramic tiles in the entryway, kitchen, & in both upstairs bathrooms. He also helped us pick out a waterfall style carpet runner on the staircase steps. ****** then used a handheld laser square footage measuring device to calculate the amount of flooring materials needed. ****** then took the time to calculate the cost of all this work, which totaled to $17,235.68. Due to a small change that we made, Empire ultimately sent us an email on 9/21/2022 saying that they are reducing the amount we owe by $938, so our new cost for this flooring installation is $16,297.68. Since Empire allows you to finance via a ***** Fargo line of credit with 0% interest fees for the first 12 months, we decided to finance the whole amount. This means, we didn't have to pay Empire anything until after the floors were installed on 9/12/2022. It is true that if we didn't finance, we would have owed a deposit of about 50% of the total, with the rest of the amount being due on the day of installation before the work begins. After running a credit check, ****** scheduled our installation appt & then took time to continue answering any of our remaining questions.Empire Today, LLC

Had carpet installed in March of 2022. Sales person said "we had our carpets tested by an elephant peeing on them and we were able to have the stains and odors removed." this was a big selling for us as we often pet sit in our home and the carpet we were buying is in my office. The office is used during the day and child locked at night. The carpet was installed and started to develop an odor. We had it professionally cleaned at our expense. The odor remained. We called empire for warranty information and they said it was the sub flooring and that we should have paid for the Odor zapper product they offer. I filed a complaint with the BBB. Empire followed up. They said as a remedy they would offer us the odor zapper product (which was not offered to us at point of sale) and that we would have to pay THEIR cost $350 for the service. I asked for a supervisor, we are not paying for them to correct their mistake or for their product to not perform as they say. I also said they could replace the carpet with something else *such as hard wood. The supervisor called me back and offered no other remedy. They refused to call the sales person and flat out said they are not responsible for anything said or any claims made during the point of sale. They said they will note the file that they offered to charge us $350 for a product we were not offered at the point of sale and I assume will try and close our BBB complaint at this time. At no time did they offer to discount the cost of the odor zapper minus out cost of cleaning the carpet or anything else besides charging us for a product we were never offered. All they tried to do was say they can't be held responsible for what their "contractors" say during their appointments while selling their products. YIKES.Empire Today, LLC

Very poor quality installation. They used caulking to fill the gaps in the stairwell steamer bullnose; over ****" x .5" rings.. Company calls this standard. Paid premium price for house-flipper quality. They're were a few red flags I should have noticed in the beginning, like no itemized invoices, no estimate statements. Stay away.Empire Today, LLC

I contacted empire and they were quick to respond, the 2nd time I contacted was with a special they were running so again the salesman came and measured the area(s) to have new flooring installed. I scheduled install for 9/21/22 and when the installers came, he new immediately that he did not have enough flooring to complete the job and would have to come back the next day. This extra day of my time was not planned as the salesman had said all the install would be done in ONE day. Also had to have a pedestal sink removed and installed, as I wasnt told about that either. Was told installers would take care of the toilet but said nothing about the sink. Im very pleased with the professionalism of the installers BUT not of the company Empire Today. Ive been trying to be compensated for my time lost on the 2nd day and cant even get Empire to return my calls and learned today that my case was closed w/o even a call from empire to let me know Ive been courteous throughout this and would appreciate the same respect from EmpireEmpire Today, LLC

On 9/3 **** I had paid ******* to have water proof floating floors installed approx **** sq foot. I had to pay ALL ******* up front. Very young ******* boys (3) took 2 days installed and looked good at first. Called them Sept 2022 and of course told after 1 yr not under warranty. Over the next 2 yrs small things started popping up, I wasn't going to make an issue of small imperfections until More and More started showing up. Now my kitchen flooring is buckled in some areas(no leaks) and noticed some buckled areas in my living room under my area rug. Several places where the planks butted up together were little uneven and ok I'll accept it until I stated noticing more and more. Plus a noticeable gap by my vent in the kitchen. I called and was told after sending pictures they could send an estimater out to look at theses areas for ******. After paying ****. For a small house and flooring itself is suppose to have guarantee plus I consider this to be a shabby installed job there is no way I'll pay ****** just to have them Look at it. Guess I'll hire a real professional but I will continue my quest to publicly post MY experience with Empire Today out of ************, **.Empire Today, LLC

I placed an order to have vinyl flooring installed in my hallway an set up a date to have it installed and paid in full. On instillation day no one ever called or showed. When I called they told me they changed it to a day I did not agree to and had to work and when I took off of work I was waiting the entire day and again no one called or showed. I called the customer service center every 3 hours that day and they kept telling me that they couldnt get a hold of the contractors but that they left a voicemail at there office and that they should be calling me back in a couple hours. Again no one ever called or showed up and the customer service agent just kept telling me that they will be there and that they have from 8 am to 6 pm to show and the last representative said that they can come later than that if I approve which was hope at the time and was at least better than the male customer service agent that told me when I called with my concerns to have a nice day and hung up on me. I requested the manager the next day and she told me the same story that she could not get ahold of the installers but she would leave a message for them to call me. At this point I requested my money back to go with another company and she notified me that even though I paid I full that she can only give me a partial refund because it was out of the time frame and I signed a contract. I replied that I paid in full when it was not even required and it has been over a month because they have not shown up and have not done the work or have I received the product. Her response was well you signed a contract and thats our policy . I replied well I guess I have to contact the BBB because this is not right and she replied I would advise you to continue to wait for them to call you I would recommend to not use this company and to definitely not pay them until your work is done if you do choose to go with them. They have the most poor customer service I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Empire Today, LLC
