I am complaining about Discover Card Company who lowered my credit limit by $3000 usd when I have NEVER had a late payment EVER. They also made sure to lower my limit where I am at the top of my credit line, and have no credit left. That is so SLEEZY when I obviously needed to use my credit recently due to a change in my financial situation and using credit is essential to my daily wellbeing until my job changes.I cannot believe a multimillion dollar company would do this to those who need the help of credit since the pandemic. I DID MY PART ALWAYS. I EVEN PAID MORE THAN MINIMUM PAYMENTS. I am asking that my credit limit be put back at the place they originally offered until I did something that warranted the change. FAIR IS FAIR. I have NEVER not done my part. These companies could care less about its customers, and if I don't have my credit restored, I would like to know if there is any legal recourse I can take. I am so sick of these type companies. They make millions off your disadvantages through interest; they act like they are God and can do whatever despite their harming their customers. Please help me.Business Response

My monthly credit card payment of $92 was due on September 1st. I setup my payment for $92 on September 1st with new bank information using PayPal account. Received confirmation that payment was being processed. On September 3rd got an email from Discover saying the account number I used for PayPal was incorrect so they returned the $92 payment and charged me $30 returned payment fee. Once I realized this issue I made an online payment of $92 from my checking account and then called Discover to ask if they could refund me the $30 returned payment fee. They declined my request and said their system suggested not to refund. My concern is the practice that they are using to decide who and when they decide to refund a fee for.Business Response

I came across this law today and according to the **** 605B (15 U.S.C. 1681c-2) you are required to remove/block any account or information not later than 4 business days after the letter was sent. Account number **************** I've contacted ********************** **************** many times asking for ******************** help and they refuse to set my account up with a permanent hardship program. I've asked for the due date to be change to maybe help so I can avoid the late fees and they deny the request. Anything I've asked for to help financially this company says no. I am rejecting this response because: Discover continues to refuse to help customers who are dealing with financial hardships. They can make some sort of hardship program, but they refused to. I was told by this representative to Contact customer service to have my due date changed but that request was denied. This company gets joy watching customers struggle. I could easily file for bankruptcy and youd get nothing vs setting up a payment plan to pay this off.

Discover failed to post a $300.00 payment to the account that they received and cashed. Discover continually claims they either did not receive a payment, received a payment late or lost a payment. This has resulted in high interest rates numerous phone calls and to get them to post payments on time. I have complained to Discover on numerous times. they have been engaging in this deceptive, abusive, unethical business practice for years.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Please see attached. ******* has been evading me and refuses to answer calls, emails etc. However,this document will so that Discover Financial Services received a money order in the amount of $300.00 from me priority first class mail on 7-7-22 and cashed this money order on 7-19-22 through their bank ***************** ********** N.A As Agent for Discover *********. Please post my $300.00 payment immediately!!!!!Back date it to 7-7-22 which is when Discover received it!!!!! Also, I would like a written formal apology From Discover Financial Services for not posting my payment on time and all the trouble, stress and problems this has causes such as raised interest rates, higher minimum payment due and reduced available credit. Just to name a few. Discover should be ashamed of themselves. Discover will also need to reimburse me for the expense of procuring this document travel expenses $10.00 document cost $10.00 for a total of $20.00

I applied for a Discover card mid August, about 8/12. At that point they asked if I wanted to do a balance transfer and I did so I gave them my information. I received the card in the mail 2 weeks later. I logged in to their website to activate my card on 8/23. It was at this time, my account was at a zero balance and my other credit card was still showing the full balance. There was no indication of anything pending in my account. The balance transfer process stated that the maximum amount I could transfer was $8100 and that would include the balance transfer fee. So I initiated a **** balance transfer from ********** to Discover Bank. I logged into my Chase account the yesterday and noticed I had a negative $6500 balance. Just this morning I reached out to Discover to find out what the issue was. I noticed in my account that the first balance transfer when I applied for the card on 8/12 posted on 8/25 and this was 100% not listed in my account on 8/23 or else I wouldn't have done the second balance transfer. Discover told me I need to talk to ***** to request a refund and they will not and absolutely cannot refund the second balance transfer fee. This is absolutely their fault and I should be refunded this money. They misled me too get 2 transfer fees. The second balance transfer posted in 2 days but the first posted 15 days later. Even if there was a delay, they did not directly indicate this to the customer. If they can't refund my balance transfer fee then they can certainly give me a credit for the same amount. I will not be a customer of ********************** if they don't fix their mistake.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:regardless of my complaint with another consumer credit agency, you are not addressing my complaint made to the BBB. I cannot accept this response from Discover as resolved until I have, in fact, been given a resolution. One agency complaint doesn't cancel out the other and I cannot accept a "please wait privately for my response without involving the BBB" as an appropriate response. A resolution through my BBB complaint is just as valid as any other agency.

I got approved for a discover card. I am a authorized user on a different account. I ask ********************** to reconsider the amount of $3,000. It is too low. my only other credit card is $15,000 and I ask for comparable credit. the other account I am on has a balance of $11,000 and I ask discover to match that amount on my new card or give me more.Business Response
