Discover sent me an email at 11:30am on 8/4/2022 stating my account had unusual activity and they froze the account until I called in and resolved it. I immediately called and was told they have decided to close my account due to a "business decision" upon asking for a resolution they told me they did not have any further answers and that I would have to wait ***** days for my account money to come to me. As a new mom and a mother who has all her money in the Discover account I expressed this to them and they would not help me in trying to obtain the funds faster. I have been trying to reach a supervisor all day and no one will call me back. I am without the funds to my account and without an explanation as to why the account was closed. They have termed my online enrollment information and erased my account within a matter of hours again with no explanation. I would just like an expedited check back to me to the address on file and not wait ***** days as I have a baby I need to feed.Business Response

I checked my credit report and noticed I had late payments from DISCOVER BANK. At the time, I was transitioning between jobs and going through an economic hardship. As you can see, I have made most of my payments on time so I am asking in goodwill faith for this one time to please remove these late payments from my account. I am trying to increase my score to qualify for a mortgage and I would greatly appreciate if you guys would forgive the late payments.Business Response

I was looking for a credit card that I could transfer a balance to. I researched credit cards to check for 0% interest rate , a low APR after 0% period, and no fees. I did this for a good amount of time. I found this Discover card and it had all of the above. I applied for the card and was approved. I went to the Discover website when I got my card only to see that there was a transfer fee of 3%. I tried to chat with a represenative from Discover only to be kicked off for not replying to the representative's message fast enough. I was basically told that the transfer fee is 3% and that was that.I would not have applied for this card if there was any kind of fee. I am already on a tight budget. I am furious because now I am unable to apply for any other card because it will hurt my credit. I WOULDN'T HAVE APPLIED FOR THIS CARD AFTER DOING SO MUCH RESEARCH ONLY TO FIND OUT I WAS GOING TO BE CHARGED A FEE.Business Response

On July 29/30 2022 I received a credit card from discover credit card company. Everything went fine until I tried to use my card. I was able to use my card at one place and the minute I tried to use it at another place it was declined. Mind you they had verified me when I did my application and called me and spoke with me. All of a sudden I was not me and the security team could not verify me. Well low and behold now Im stuck with a credit card that I can no longer use and I tried to call them and attempted to email them. None of the emails worked, and they are playing games acting like they cant get it straight with the security team at the 800 number. I am a ******************************************************************************************************* to get a loan I needed credit. Well I did that now theyre telling me Im not me, what kind of scam are they trying to do to stick me with a bill saying I never paid them. I dont know what to do and its a disgrace that company of this magnitude does this to an elderly person such as myself. Ima World War II Veteran and I have seen some things in my life. I served my country during the fifties and wasnt treated the same, yet I served the same war. I was discriminated against and disrespected, you mean to tell me after all these years nothing has changed. Now theyre scamming me and disrespecting me, how can this be and why isnt these companies held accountable for it.Initial Complaint

I attended a timeshare exit program 7/17/2019 at which the presenter exaggerated the cost to us if we did not exit our tshare.we signed a contract with square one to do so.when we go home i read contract without interruption and checked bbb and reviews about square one."F"/with bbb,many complaints,warning from Ftc.and Attorney gen.Paid w/discover card.called 7/18/2019 to cancel contract and dispute charges with discover card because of what we found on bbb,ftc. Atty.gen and informed discover card what we found at bbb,ftc.and atty.gen.In spite of these facts discover mistakenly gave sq1he money to square1 and I had to find an attorney in ******** (I live in pa.).It cost me$4000 and alot of stress to my wife and me.My wife had back surgery in 2020 and a hip replacement in 2021 plus dealing covid and doctors appointments. All this could have been avoided if discover hadn't made the mistake of paying sq.1 and let them *** me instead of me suing sq1. In reading the reviews(1*) and complaints discover is all about the $ .if they put the$ back in the account they only get their $ back.If they pay sq1 they get 20%+ interest from me.when you call executive offices and leave messages they say they return call in24hrs.but they don't..one* for discover.Business Response
