On or about May 17, 2022, I had a reservation for a hotel stay which I booked through bookingsonline.com. I paid using my Discover Card approximately five days before. I did not receive a confirmation email and I only booked for one night for a doctor's ************ When I arrived at the hotel, I found out that the reservation erroneously stated I had booked for 28 days which led me to believe either bookingsonline or a computer system error effected the term of my reservation. I immediately called bookingsonline and a rude female representative stated it was my problem and they could not cancel the reservation. I did not use any of the reservation and booked a new one as I planned to dispute it and sent the letter to Discover. I got a letter from hotel stating I did not use the reservation and filed a dispute with Discover. I was told that I would have to pay in excess of $5,000. Unfortunately Discover chose to support a 1.2 star rated company over a long-term customer who has never filed a dispute before. I am an honest senior citizen who pays my bills on time. I expect and demand Discover to resend their decision and credit my account in full. I can attach the letter to the hotel letter if it is necessary.Business Response

I am chatting with an agent named ****** from **** who has made disputing impossible for me. He is so rude and asking me irrelevant questions that I do not have the answer for. Its simple. I need to dispute a charge from 7/9/2022 for $25.96. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE REFUNDED, SIMPLE RIGHT? Never got the refund. No refund date was promised and I never even heard of a refund promise date because its based on when the bank will release the funds ANYWAY! We spoke 7/10, Its 7/31, If you have common sense apple does not show call records THAT FAR BACK. Im not calling **** to get a phone record. Dispute the charge. It was for quality of food. Thats all the info I have. THen I need to dispute a charge from 7/8/22 for $40.00 exactly. It was for services never received and experience. The airline said they issued me a credit that i never received. This occurred 7/10 as well. Thats all the information I have but your agent ****** has abandoned the chat and has not said anything to me for the last 11 minutes!!! I have given you all 2 referals and I feel like I should just cancel my card at this point. I want the disputes to be initated. Im being treated as if im disputing charges every other day like wtf? I pay my **** always!! Never have a revolving balance, never been late nothing!!! I want My charges disputed, I want to be compensated for literally wasting my morning before work. This shouldve been a simple process but it has taken SO MUCH and Now im ****** before work and thats not fair. All because ****** from **** couldnt understand I already gave him all the information I HAVE!!!!Business Response

I made a purchase using Paypal while using my Discover card as a second form of protection, just in case fraud was involved. There eventually was an issue with the product and the seller agreed to refund me in full. However, after a few days, the seller ghosted me. I contacted Paypal and they told me that I would need to contact Discover to get my money back since the seller was a scammer. I then turned to Discover to open a chargeback against the seller to get my money back. I provided proof of emails showing the seller agreeing to the refund. I spoke to ****** from Discover and he told me that Discover doesn't protect their customers from third party websites. They said they do ALLOW their customers to be scammed if they purchase using Paypal. I was shocked when they admitted to allowing fraud. They said the only way they could issue a refund is if the seller submitted a refund to me through Paypal. If a refund was submitted, there would be no reason to open a chargeback with Discover. The representative sounded embarrassed that Discover allows such a thing. If you use ************* or any other third party website, please make sure to not use a Discover credit card. They will NOT protect you at all.Business Response

Unfortunately the letter fails to explain why they are reaching out to me. I sent an email out to ***** on August 1, 2022, however they haven't responded yet. I would like a response via email, not over the phone as it is easier to provide proof to authorities. Much appreciated!

I am rejecting this response because:
Yes, I made a transaction for a Ticketmaster gift card, however the seller sold a gift card that was deactivated. I spoke to PayPal and Ticketmaster and they told me to open a chargeback with my credit card since the seller turned out to be a scammer. I spoke to ****** from Discover and he was able to confirm that they allow customers to be scammed if you purchase off a third party website. I even submitted documentation from the seller asking how much they owed me. The seller admitted it was their fault. I have messaged ***** multiple times, however she has ignored all my emails. I will repeat, Ticketmaster and PayPal confirmed the seller was a scammer. According to Ticketmaster, they were selling gift cards that were bought from stolen credit card numbers. This is why the card was deactivated. How can a credit card company protect scammers in situations such as this?
Sincerely,

On 3/18 and 4/14 I was charged $100 on my credit card, from a merchant that tricked my son and wife. We paid the first 2 $100 charges and I then asked discover to stop the charges because the merchant refused. Discover allowed 2 more charges above after I reported the false charges. Discover then waited 3 Months and charged me back the $200 and did not inform me or send any communication on the matter. I refuse to pay as I proved my case and the discover company allows charges on my card after I reported the fraud and still charged me. CHARGES AFTER I REPORT FRAUD I AN NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR Discover Card is for allowing it to continue after I reported it.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: discover took no ownership after I asked them to change my credit card number to avoid further fraud after they change the credit card number they still allowed more fraud and then held me accountable for it. This is after I reported it two months prior and this company should have not allowed the same merchant to continue to charge my account. I closed the account due to discovers inability to prevent reported fraud and Then tell the customer theyre responsible because basically discovers too big of a company and the individual person cant do anything about it. Discover should not only reimburse the $100 but should be Penalized for advertising on TV that they never take fraud against the customer when I have physical proof that that is an absolute false claim for treating fraud against the customer such in such an illegal way.

On July 21, 2022 I was scammed via computer and telephone. I was directed to purchase gift cards. I charged $2000 on 4 **** gift cards on my Discover card at the *********** store in ********, **. In the heat of the moment I was frazzled, but latter that day I realized what had happened. I called Discover to report the unfortunate scam. They took the report and told me to file a police report, which I did and reported it to Discover. I am looking for Discover to forgive the $2000 charge, since I was a victim of a scam.I also purchased $2000 on 4 gift cards on my Chase card (which they have forgiven).Business Response

In 2017 I filed for bankruptcy and included Discover. Here we are 5 years later and I decided to submit a pre-qualification request on 7/28. This is not the first time but the most recent. Discover continues to use my bankruptcy as an excuse to not qualify me. I know that Chapter 7 can remain on your report for up to 10 years, but I think it is silly for them to continue using this as an excuse.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: It does not show factual information. As per the ****-C it was sent to the *** as income and the Bussiness cannot go after me for the debt or try to collect the debt which mean that the the balance that they are stating does not exist since they have sent it to the *** as my income.
