In May 2024, I purchased a used car and a warranty package from a dealership in **********, ********A few weeks later, I receive an official looking notice from Sky Auto Protection telling me that I need to contact a representative to start my warranty coverage. I saw too mention in this mailing of a fee, and stupidly, I assumed this was connected with the warranty package I purchased. When I contacted Sky Auto Protection, a representative told me that I'd be charged $167.23 to start my warranty coverage, and that I'd receive a package of documents to keep in my car to cover potential claims. I thought it was odd that I needed to pay $167.23 for a dealership warranty package that I'd already spent thousands on, but had a lot going on in my life at that time to attend to, and was not my usual skeptical and questioning self. Even more stupidly, I gave this scam artist my credit card number,My card was charged $167.23 on May 30th. 23 days later (6/22/2024), I have not received this so-called package, and I now find out that the mailing had nothing to do with the expensive dealership warranty I purchased, and that other people have been robbed by this criminal outfit.Since this company is apparently based in ******, I have contacted Illinois Attorney General ************************* office about this company, describing in detail the fraud that took place with the unsolicited and misleading mailing, the charge on my credit card for services not rendered, and the fraud that has occurred with others commenting on the BBB site.I will also be contacting this company Monday morning, demanding a full refund and cessation of any future charges that were not agreed to. I will continue contacting them and reporting them to any and all relevant state government agencies until the refund is paid in full.Business Response

Keep receiving notices from SP ACTIVATION SERVICES *******************. ****************************** This is a fraudulent company. I asked to be taken off the mailing list. The person who answered the phone said that if I did not give her the Coverage ID # that I would stay on their mailing list. No legitimate company would say that to a customer.Business Response

I purchased a vehicle February 2024, SP-Activation Service reached out about warranty expiration, to avoid any future issues that I should pay warranty to cover any future repairs and that I would receive book with all information. Transaction was made on 5/10/24 I have not received the book, no e-mail receipt. I am so upset that I basically got scammed. This is my first car and I just graduated college.Business Response

I was contacted when I purchased my vehicle about an extended warranty with a one time payment attached by Sky Protection. They sent a yellow formal looking letter that claimed if I didn't get auto protection nothing on my vehicle would be covered. I called them and they informed me that for my vehicle it would be a one time payment of $210.34 on 5/13 and that would result in full auto coverage and that it was vital that I put the packet in my car as soon as I received it so that it could be used for claims. A month later I received another charge for $210.34 which I never received an invoice or record of, I never authorized putting my card on file so they saved it without permission. It turns out in their packet towards the end that it was a down payment which I did not authorize. Upon calling them on 6/17 they claimed that they informed me it was a payment plan, I requested they cancel and refund me for my services since I was not provided with the terms of which I agreed to. They claimed that I did authorize and refused to refund my money and that they had audio recording of me verbally agreeing to the payment plan, I requested they provide me with the audio recording where I had "agreed to the payment plan" and they declined. I have now filed two fraudulent disputes with my bank and have had to order a new card to prevent them from charging me in the future. I see multiple people claiming the same has happened to them ******* reviews, yelp, reddit, and on here) so I know it was not just me. I would like to receive my money back and see this reported so they are not able to scam other people out of their money in the future.Business Response

This company contacted me acting like they were my I **************** after I registered my car in *********. I am a college student. They took payment for my auto insurance and said it was for a transfer to *********. Now I realize they have changed my credit card five different times all on different varying dates each month from the beginning of the month to the middle to the end. They are a scam and are taking advantage of innocent people.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because first of all I was told this was my car auto insurance and not a warranty. My car is three years old and my service warranty goes from the dealer is 5 years/ 100,000 miles warrnaty. ************ has numerous complaints on Yelp and BBB as fraudulent. I have called multiple times to get this policy canceled when I realized it wasn't my car insurance. I believe this is why it does not show as a recurring charge and the funds were pulled at different times every month instead of the same date. I will file a lawsuit against this company and look into a class action lawsuit if this is not resolved. ************ intentionally takes advantage of younger and elderly consumers by misrepresenting what they are selling.
Sincerely,

This company contacted me pretending to be my real extended warranty provider through the business I purchased my car from. They lied about who they were and the representative lied about charging my credit card. I was told that I needed to make a one time payment for the service to start and provide my VIN and millage. I did not notice they were not who they said they were until I checked my credit card statement and decided to call my real extended warranty company. I called Sky Auto Protection to request a refund, and after arguing with the representative for 15 minutes, they said they would refund it. But because they cannot be trust I also canceled payment with my credit card company. Sky **** should not be allowed to continue to scam people out of their money.Business Response

The date of the transaction was February 26,2024. I was spoke to a representative about the warranty but I told him that I wanted to see the total contract amount before he charged my card. He charged my card $213.45. I told him not to do that. I told him that I want to cancel and he passed me on to a different person who would not allow me to cancel. Since this occurred, Hve called numerous times requesting a cancellation and all I get is a runaround. I was told that a cancellation request form will be sent to me to fill out and nothing has appeared. The website says that if you have not used your warranty, you can call and get a full refund. I have called to cancel and got nothing but a runaround. I never gave them a VIN number to activate the warranty.Business Response

I signed up for an extended warranty through sky auto protection. It was to my knowledge that I would be charged $198.11 the one time fee and would receive a booklet in the mail few days later. I never received the booklet in the mail. The next six months, Ive been being charged $198.11 totaling $1,386.77. I have since then canceled my credit card on March 29, 2024 with my bank. I have done some research on this company. The past three months theyve had 195 complaints and a Better Business Bureau rating of F. I am looking for a full money refunded to me in a check seeing I canceled my credit card for them not able to refund to the card.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I called the BBB on April 30th 2024 with my response over the phone. The persons who took the call never told me they needed it in writing and was never submitted. I didnt hear anything back from when I last called in to give my response to the letter that sky auto protection submitted. I declined their offer and looking for a full refund and not a prorated refund either.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:
I did contact sky auto protection and wanted a full refund. They kept telling me I was half way paid off and continue to pay it. They would reduce my payments if I excepted and I declined. They kept trying to tell me I wouldnt get the full refund and saying my ****** rouge is junk and the transmission will fail. They also said that the BBB is in some kind of legal matter and they are not goin to help me solve this problem. I told them I would review the policy and get back to them just so I could end the call. From there I contacted the BBB and told them my situation and I was informed not to contact them to write a response back to their response. I am so fed up with this company and want my total refund. They have called me from a ************* number on June 5th, June 10th, June 11th, and June 12th telling me I have missed payment and to call and make a payment. I have already canceled the card connected to the account. I am taking them calling me three days in a row as harassment and want it dealt with.
In closing I just want my money that Ive paid in and all this to be settled so i can go back to my everyday life. I do not like how sky auto protection can take my money and saying all Im getting back is a prorated amount when I have not had anything done of except anything.
Sincerely,

I purchased an auto warranty from my car dealership on 3/22/24. On 3/25/24 I, very coincidentally, received a mailer from this company stating that I needed to call to activate my auto warranty. I was charged $210 to activate my "policy". Angrily, I called my dealership for selling a warranty with a hidden activation fee... only to find out that the warranty that I purchased is not affiliated with this company whatsoever and that I was targeted by a company falsly portraying to be the policy that I actually purchased from the dealership. To put it bluntly, I was informed that I was scammed. I immediately called the customer ********************** number that I was provided by this company, and offense was taken when I called their company a scam. I asked for a full refund but was hung up on and don't believe that the refund will be received. I am asking for a full refund of the amount paid for a policy that I am not, nor have ever, been affiliated with.Business Response
