Bought a Prime Time ******* on Oct. 7 2022, paid $69,994 have had nothing but problems with this camper. The day after i brought it home we found heater vent that fell down into the under belly, the runners on the steps going up into living room are cut 1/4" to short and the linoleum was pilling up on the edges. Two weeks later we leave for trip, two days into trip water leaks under all the sinks, water on the floor by kitchen slide so i go outside to find where water is coming from and there is water pouring out from under the *** Water lines weren't tight on the back of water heater. I fix those problems for now until the floor starts getting weak from the water damage. Then two weeks after that we notice our carpet is wet up in the living room, the slide out has been leaking and you can see light in the bottom left corner, and from what we can tell it's been leaking for a long time, long enough to discolor the carpet in that corner. At least 3 outlets quit working and was told there was a lose wire somewhere, I'm not an electrician but lose connections is how electrical fires start. Then most of the windows need replaced because they were not installed correctly. Their workmanship is poor, who know what else was missed or not installed properly. I've had to pay almost $1200 in hotels and sounds like at least another month of hotels so even more money that I'll have to pay.

Forest River is very sorry to hear of the troubles our customer is experiencing.  We are reaching out to the dealer to discuss the matters listed and work with them in a timely manner to resolve any open unresolved concerns.
We apologize for the delays that have taken place and will work with the dealer to have the unit completed ASAP.
As for the request for repurchase or replacement we respectfully decline at this time.

Please feel free to reach out to us here at Forest River if you should have any additional questions or concerns at ************.

I am rejecting this response because: My issues still need fixed, and nobody wants to fix them. It should be illegal to sell products with the issues that this RV has. And not to take responsiblity for the poor workmanship, you guys are shrugging it off like nothing is wrong. Maybe I should look into my legal options if I even have any.

Forest River is continuing to work with the servicing dealer to have repairs finished as soon as possible.  Windows have been ordered for the reported concern.  In addition, we are also working with the customer in regard to the corners of the slide/out.  We have received additional information to help facilitate the warranty process.  Forest River has requested the servicing dealer enter a claim that will address the additional concerns our customer has in regard to the slide out corners/gapping and to pull carpet back in order to inspect the decking.  Forest River maintains the right to repair and is working diligently with the customer and the servicing dealer to expedite any warrantable repairs.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 01/29/2023

I am rejecting this response because:
Forest river has addressed the windows however they have not been addressed in a way that I feel is appropriate. There have been only a couple of the numerous windows complaints were filed on ordered. As for the carpet and gapping issue near the slide out they did finally address that and pull back carpet as requested by myself after months of arguing my case. When the carpet was pulled back there was wet wood and mold across the entire area as I suspected there would be. We have paid $70,000+ for a camper that clearly was not put together well and had poor quality control inspection. The dealer has had it for approximately 2 1/2 months while we continue to argue our case with the dealer. We are continuing to have to make our payments on something we can't even use at this time due to lack of communication and cooperation throughout the process. Small steps have been made in the past 2 weeks to begin trying to address these issues but they are not resolved at this time.

      Business Response

      Date: 02/06/2023

We are working closely with the dealer to resolve the concerns in a timely manner.  When the ** is completed, we are willing to discuss a possible extension of warranty or compensation for the time out of service.  We appreciate you working with us, and we are continuing to work with the dealer to have the unit completed as soon as possible.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 02/07/2023

I am rejecting this response because:
We thought we purchased a new camper, not a camper that has mold due to water leaks, loose electrical wires on outlets etc.  You guys didn't deem it necessary to inspect for water damage under the carpet until I provided my photos and was persistent about checking it. To me if a customer has concerns about something maybe your *************** should ask for more photos or check into the customers concerns a little more. Now me and my wife have concerns about the camper if and when it gets repaired, did they find all the mold and get it removed? or is there anymore loose electrical connections? These are real concerns of ours, because they could make my family sick from the mold, or we could be sleeping and there could be an electrical fire caused by loose electrical connections. How are we supposed to enjoy this camper with these concerns.

      Business Response

Forest River has authorized shipment of all necessary parts to the repairing dealer.  The cushion was ordered through the component manufacturer.  Shipping times vary and are outside of Forest River's control.  We are also following up with the dealer and the component manufacturer on the shipping status of the cushion and are currently waiting on an update as of this response.  The servicing dealer has documented twice weekly phone calls alerting the customer that the unit can be picked up and used for its intended purpose.  The dealer will call the customer as soon as the replacement cushion arrives. There are no additional pending warranty claims or parts orders entered, the customers concerns are reported as corrected and the unit is available for pickup.  Thank you for the opportunity to address the customers concerns in regard to their unit.

if they pay my camper balance to 20000$, I will give up warranty.  This would allow me to be able to trade or sale my camper.

I have concerns about slide out and air conditioning  I would need a lifetime warranty on those items.

Every time we pack up to camp, we find more issues

We are working directly with this customer.  He is not happy, but we are working through his concerns as we can.  We have repeatedly asked for information and the customer does not follow through.   We sent a mobile repairman to the customers location and ************** indicated that he was happy with the repairs.  There were some items noted at the visit that were caused by user error, such as a compartment door being left open in the rain.  After he presented us with additional complaints, we sent a mobile tech again.  The tech waited for two hours but customer failed to show up on site.

We feel that new items discovered would not be considered a manufacturing defects as the one year manufacturers warranty expired nearly 5 months ago.  Out of customer goodwill, we have offered to send the tech again if the customer provides us with a current list of repairs needed and a guaranteed availability date.

This is the same form letter they sent to *********************************************. I have never spoken to this lady. I have printed copies of every email between *************, Forest River, and myself. There are no added problems. Shower has leaked done purchase and continues to leak. Was in shop for 3 months for attempt to repair. Parts shortage. When I get back and camp, I find many more issues. Now the warranty has expired. There is no lemon law for a travel trailer in SC. If this was an automobile, it meets the criteria for LEMON LAW. Shower continues to leak after a day repair at *************. After being at Forest River for 90 days due to parts shortage. After two attempts by Forest River mobile technicians. They damaged more things. My first mobile rv appointment was confirmed. I emailed about second mobile repair appointment to confirm NO RESPONSE. The mobile technician called an hour before arrival. I have been storing parts for Forest River. They arrived the day after Forest River technician. I purchased in March 2022 BRAND new. It is September 2023 and Im making payments on a travel trailer I can not use. They offered about $1200 for payments made when my camper was in shop if I signed statement they are no longer responsible. I declined. They are the ones who do not follow through. I have a stressor letter from my VA psychiatrist caused by this negligence. Buyer beware. ***************************. Disabled Combat Veteran

We very much appreciate your service to our country and by no means trying to accomplish anything less than making unit right. We have attempted and still are willing to send a crew to accomplish any outstanding concerns. We simply ask that we are provided a list of items you need to have addressed as you mention in your denial response additional items. We ask this so we have all parts needed to be onsite for repair when our tech is there and for you to inspect repairs once completed as sign off of acceptance.

I am rejecting this response because:
You were sent this list from *********************************.  They closed my case even though you have not contacted. You agreed on telephone to settle my case for 10000$ so I can sale camper back to dealership. They offered to buy for 18000$   Your mobile tech has messed up my bathroom door and the metal on the front end was replaced.  The front end has waves in it. Please send me my 10k check.  The shower has leaked since brand new purchase.  Forest River sent mobile technicians for repair  still leaking.  Dealership attempted 2 repairs to shower.  And it was in shop for over 90 days

Forest River remains willing to repair this RV.  We have requested a full list of complaints regarding this unit to be sent to *********************** several times.  Lists may have been sent elsewhere; however, a full list of complaints regarding this unit needs to be received by ************************  Once that is sent, we can arrange for the repairs.

I am rejecting this response because:

They only responded after closing my request with *********************************  please dont close my case  They always make me to be at fault  Tmi can not use camper and am tired of looking at it.  I want to be compensated 12000$ for loss of use, storage of parts not available for use until day after Forest River technician left my house, pain and suffering caused by their negligence in repairing shower and poor warranty work leading to inability to camp without mopping floors

The tech repaired bathroom door and it will not close. The technician repaired metal on front end of camper.  It is wavy, has numerous screws in various locations, and has space at bottom for future water damage.  The window has bee Caulked  but windows kitchen seal is hanging  many other warranty problems  they want to come to my home, make poor repairs, and do whatever possible to get BBB to close my case  They would not mediate through SC Depatof Consumer Affairs.  They did not respond as noted bell   Im assuming it is time for legal representation since they do not keep their word

Dear **************, I have emailed the list of repairs needed on your camper. Has the business reached out to you
about setting up a date? If you are unable to find resolve with the
business, your next step is to seek legal action.
      Best regards,

I have sent list to him several times. He keeps adding/deleting email contacts so no one at Forest River knows what is going on

i dont want this camper. This will be fifth attempt at repairing camper. He only responded because I recently started emailing him daily

Im paying for something I can not use. Unless I mop floors. There are other problems. They want me to sign off on warranty in my yard. How will I know shower no longer leaks?  His mobile tech did not install my front metal. It will eventually have water damage. Now bathroom door will not close

im spending money on something I can not use

I have emailed him over 63 times

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/27/2023

I have emailed him over 63 times. Unsure of why he is doing this. *** sent him his request. Ive been talking to *******************************. She said she would email my demands to him. They keep changing point of contact. He just provided ******** email this week. In the 63 emails is his request. Not sure what is going on. I have a camper with a leaky shower requiring mopping floors. I emailed my punch list. He ignored ********************************************* and is now accusing me of not responding. I emailed him and several of his other team members. He told me the conversation is between him, ********************************* ( Assistant Director of something/paralegal). She was supposed to email my demand of $12000 for loss of use, pain and suffering caused by inability to use camper, and poor warranty work

Please do not close my case. Not sure why my complaint went through their chain of command ( to Assistant Director who verbally told me something) and now coming back down their chain of command).  She verbally promised one thing and did another. At least now I have her email address. She no longer responds or answers telephone.

now they change point of contact again after emailing over 63 times about warranty work required

Forest River taking advantage of a disabled combat veteran

Do Not close this case.  Please

Ive done everything they ask  They go through the motions of getting agencies to close case with out doing anything

now you are suggesting legal representation like ********************************* did

Very difficult to make payments on something you cant use after giving dealership and Forest River both 2 opportunities to repair

then when repairing they tear up some thing else

please help me  Im going through my chain of command, requesting help, and stuck with something I cant use

I purchased a brand new Forest River ******** limited edition in February of 2022. Vin# *****************. I have had the camper in numerous times for repairs. Most recently my camper went in to the local dealer ****** Camperland in *********, ** & was dropped off 8/10/2022 for water damage to my whole floor due to a broken hot and cold water supply pipe. My camper had to go back to Forest Rivers headquarters for warranty repairs in which they said they gave me a whole new sub floor. I received my camper back November 8th 2022 (3 months of non use) My camper was missing the battery, my ********* blackwater/grey water hose and bumper tabs. I was also missing my $750.00 anti sway hitch mechanism that I financed on my loan. Also the metal around my microwave was severely cracked and someone shouldve noticed that and fixed it. I now have to take my camper back to the dealer here in Kansas once again to have the cracked metal around my microwave fixed and the soonest they can get me in is 1/7/2023 which is days out from my year manufacturers warranty being expired. ********************* of Camperland gave me all the missing items basically eating the cost. I am disgusted with the customer service I have received from **********************! It is almost impossible to get someone on the phone. No one ever calls back. The main reason I am writing this complaint is that I was promised a $285.00 payment for a no use clause. I signed my paperwork on 11/16/22 and promptly emailed it to Forest River to get my $285.00. I was advised the person that cuts those checks was gone for 2-3 weeks and I told them that is not my problem. I spoke with ****** and she advised me that typically no use payments can take ***** days to process. I asked is this ***** from 11/16 and she said no, from this day which was approximately the end of November. Now I have to make another payment for December! I would like them to send me the check ASAP, part of it is no use, but negligence as well, as key items were missing

I am rejecting this response because:

7-10 businesses days puts me getting my payment at or around 1/13/23. That surpasses the normal ***** time frame that I was told for a no use clause, and furthermore I was told by ****** that those payments are sent out via express mail! Why cant my payment be made express mail like everyone elses is? I just want the money I was promised in the time frame I was promised it in so that we can put this situation behind us

      Business Response

We do apologize for the delay in the receipt of the reimbursement.  We were able to track the payment to the customer and verified that they have received their payment.  After speaking with the customer, it was also agreed that ********************** will Goodwill the microwave trim kit to the customer as well.  If our customer requires further assistance, they have been provided contact information, we are happy to assist.

I own a 2019 Forest River Rockwood Ultralight 5th wheel with a rear half bath and Bunkroom. The "Lower front Cap " as the ************ at the dealership cals it is coming off. Thankfully i noticed it flopping around in my mirror last time i towed it. Took it in to the dealership. I have an extended warranty as well. Now i understand the Manufacturers warranty has expiered , however i was sure the Manufacturer would have stepped in due the fault of the actual manufacturing process. The front end was pulled apart and there was zero evidence srews or glue was ever put in. This is a major safety concern. I have had countless issues with this trailer. It is the 5th trailer and 2nd 5th wheel ive owned. I have never had problems like i have had with this 3 year old trailer. The servive manager sent multiple pictures to Forest River and i have sent emails as well. Not one person at the company thinks this is a fault of the company. Again this is a major piece of the trailer. If it were to come off during a tow it would be very very dangerous. I figured Forest River would be concerened enough to even look into this problem.

I purchased a New 2021 Forest River Aurora 32BDS. This trailer has had issues since we purchased it. The black tank has issues, the slides have issues the plumbing, awning lights. Its been a terrible experience. Because we are a full time RV family, weve gradually seen a steady increase in issues over such a short period of time. I thought I was getting a deal when all I did was create a deal of issues and extra unnecessary expenses on myself.

      Business Response

Forest River would like to respond to a complaint from one of our customers expressing concern of a 2021 Forest River Aurora purchased on June 23, 2021.
Unfortunately, the unit has no claims submitted to Forest River for any repairs. Nor are there any notes in our system of any issues regarding this unit. While we are sympathetic to any issues that the customer has had with his RV, we can only address issues submitted on warrantable claims from a dealership for authorization. It is the responsibility of the customer to reach out to their selling dealer or Forest River warranty to address any concerns. Since this has not occurred Forest River has not had the opportunity to address these concerns within his warranty period.

I purchased the trailer on 1/21/16. It came with a warranty. I was going to sell it. When I cleaned out the storage area, there is no floor left in it. It rotted out. This is very dangerous. I have been trying to get it in for service, but it&#**;s busy at the shop. I think they need to warn people that there could be a problem with this.

Purchased 2021 Forest River Wildwood 27RK Travel Trailer from ************************ on 08/15/2021 Vin *****************. Contacted ****** Dealer about 2 weeks before our warranty expired to let them know our camper was missing floor molding in the bathroom, hallway and bedroom. The dealer said they could not get us in before the warranty expired and that I should contact Forest River directly to get the complaint in their system so when ****** dealer did call in to get warrantied, it would already be in their system and then it would get approved to getting missing molding installed. We did take in to RV dealer and they had taken pictures and sent in to Forest River to get "denied" stating "RV was build to factory specs". When I look at the particular RV on many websites selling this RV, you can clearly see the molding IS there. I would like to have the missing molding installed under warranty

      Business Response

      Date: 11/01/2022

After reviewing the build records of the Wildwood 27RK, this model number is not built with base trim installed in the customer mentioned areas, the initial denial was correct.  Forest River has approved the addition of the molding as Goodwill to the customer per the authorized claim in the system.  We would like to thank the customer for sharing their concerns regarding the missing base trim in their unit and for their continued business.

We purchased a new RV from Forest River in 2021 and have had it a little over a year when this issue occurred, we could not use our hot water heater (propane gas) while traveling (thus far we had been using electric so hadn't noticed that gas was not working) so we ended up calling a repair company to have a look for us and they discovered that no circuit board was ever installed in RV - there was a plug just loose on the inside of the wall that was missing the board to make it work. We submitted the parts/labor to Forest River for this "manufacturing defect" they tried to insist it was a warranty issue and refused to pay the service call of $150 and just paid the parts/labor. We were traveling and stuck with no hot water until we had the service done and as this was missed at any sort of quality control check, and our extended warranty didn't cover the charge so we sent all the information, pictures, receipt and payment check to them, they took several months to review, and after several follow up emails they decided to finally just pay a portion of the invoice for something that we requested back in June. We feel that this invoice should have been paid in fully and is not really a warranty claim at all, as they initially left the part out and unless we had gotten service we would have never realized it was missing at all.

We are certainly sorry to hear about the issue with your unit and the confusion with regard to the reimbursement check.        I am rejecting this response because: it was a missing part - how is this a warranty claim at all? How were we to even know it was missing without having service on it? I still believe it is a manufacturing defect and not warranty related at all.

Forest River's Limited Warranty covers the ** against substantial defects in material and workmanship attributable to Forest River's manufacture and assembly of the **, this includes missing parts.  **s are mobile units and per the Limited Warranty the purchaser is obligated to take the unit to the repairing dealer for warranty repair. i purchased a travel trailer from this dealer 3/26/2022 brand new. I took my trailer home and never used it until like August 3, 2022 because my temp tag expired and it took them that long to get me a permanent tag. I took the trailer to *********** ** and upon arrival it had several problems one being a hole in the awning. I made a list of the issues and took it to a dealer local to me for repair. Forest River and *********** refused to replace or repair my awning stating I put the hole in the awning when in fact I never used it until my trip and I cant imagine any way I could put a hole in the awning driving it home from the dealer and driving it to LA. The dealer suggested I hit something while driving on the open highway and caused the hole in the awning. I asked them to give me an explanation on how I could have hit something on open highway and caused the hole in the awning and I was told maybe I hit a bird or a tree. I have owned 4 campers and have never hit a bird or tree along the highway and caused damage to the awning. I paid a significant amount of money for this camper and it comes with only a 1 year warranty and the dealer or manufacturer does not want to honor their product and put blame of on a paying customer for what I feel one of their careless employees were responsible for. They want to say I caused the hole and one of the dealer employees at the repair shop told me if I had rubbed the hole as they stated there would be 2 because it would have had to make 2 holes to get to the second layer when rolled up.

      Business Response

      Date: 10/25/2022

The customer purchased the unit on 3/26/2022 at which time an inspection of the unit was completed by both the customer and dealer, and the findings were documented on the Forest River Customer Delivery and Warranty Registration Form. During this inspection, the awning operation procedure was demonstrated, and the canvas was found to be without defect as documented in the Warranty Registration form initialed and signed by both the customer and the dealer.

On 8/26/2022, the customer presented the unit to the dealer for issues covered under the Forest River Limited Warranty. To our knowledge, any and all warrantable issues have been addressed and repaired to the satisfaction of the customer. As of the date of this correspondence, Forest River has not been presented with an awning issue and attribute this to the dealerships belief that the hole in the awning was not a warrantable repair. Due to the fact that this was not identified at the time of the purchase inspection, Forest River stands by the dealership and must defer to their expertise in determining that the issue at hand is not caused by a manufacturing defect and therefore, not a repair that is covered under warranty.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further questions regarding this issue or any future concerns you may have.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
